Shephards Beach Resort Reviews

We had our wedding on the beach last week...everything was fabulous!! The entire staff took care of us! With over 30 people attending (10 rooms booked at the resort) I could not have asked for a more beautiful resort! The staff was so much fun and our food for the reception was hands down, FABULOUS!! Kuddos to the chef!!! Thank you for making our day so special and beautiful!!

We loved the resort. It was a lively atmosphere, good food, on the beach and descent room. The only problem we had was upon booking through American Airlines, we paid for a room with 2 beds and gulf view. The hotel called me, due to my card not working because of bank putting a fraud alert since we were in Florida, and they asked me if I would change rooms to accommodate a part larger than ours. I agreed to taking a king instead of 2 queens as long as I would still have a Gulf view. Once we arrived, we checked in only to be told we had a city view. At first, Nick ( I'm assuming the manager) was trying to be helpful and fix the problem. He asked for my number and said he would do everything he could to get our room changed that night, but if he couldn't, he would the next night when people checked out. We never heard a word from Nick, so I went to the desk the next day. Nick was off work that day, so I left a message for the manager (V). I never heard a word from her. I went the 3rd day... Same thing... Left message and number... Never a word. Finally, the last day I went to the front desk and asked if I could, at the very least, have complimentary late checkout... And.... I'm sitting in my city view room currently awaiting a call from.... NICK! Just make sure you are not a gracious person whom decides to allow other travelers to have your room and you should be fine. If for any reason you have a problem and need to speak with a manager... Don't HOLD YOUR BREATH! Funny thing is, my husband was speaking to a couple who checked in the same time they called me to switch and that couple said that they paid for city view and the person at front desk charged them $20 to upgrade to a good view... Hmmmm

Had so much fun on new year's! I recommend this place, you will have a wonderful time!

Great hotel if you are under 40. For older guests the staff is rude and it is 3 am and our room vibrates from the night club and drunks are right outside.

Super fun outdoor bar, great live music and DJ. Beautiful outdoor patio on the beach! We had such a great time here on a Saturday night!

Great atmosphere and comfortable rooms. Bathroom could be a little bigger.

Thus is the second time I've been there to eat at the buffet, the food was delicious both times, hope to go back there again soon

Went to the bar and found it to be well staffed, fast service and knowledgeable bartenders. Good music and very clean.

Nice rooms. Pleasant staff. Parking is valet only - complimentary for guests. There are two towers and one doesn't really have rooms with ocean views, the hallway is ocenside, the rooms are all on the north side.

The tiki bar is the place to be on Friday and Saturday night! The dj keeps the dance floor packed, and the bar tenders are fantastic. We went for a bachelorette party and it was so much fun! I'll definitely go back!

So let s leave the short version, and then the long version to follow....

I had a major issue, the manager on hand DAVID treated it like it was unimportant and was told I could get a refund if I wanted, but they were unwilling to do anything about it. End rant.

I ll try to keep this simple. I know one of the counter workers that makes reservations. In the past he will wave the resort fee for me, but I don t get anything special beyond that. I asked to duplicate my last resorvation which was a two bed two bath w/ living room pull out couch. I made it specific that I had six people. I even specifically went into detail about its location, and features. He confirmed that it was fine. I booked the room. We all moved on.

Here we go a month later, I call in to ask a simple question about parking, and suddenly I have no two room reservation, but now a two BED resorvation (with only one parking space). I ask to speak to the manager, the girl I was speaking with (she was nice enough, but ultimately implied nothing good would come from talking to him) grabbed him (David).

The manager acknowledged that he spoke with his employee about our reservation and he would not allow it for the price he quoted (which I never asked for) so he changed our room without my knowledge and expected us to deal with it. I had 6 people on their way to Shephards to stay the night, and after explaining it to him, the only thing he could offer was (for us) to pay for another room. He blamed his employee for not contacting me to tell me he could not give us the room for the agreed upon price (which was ok, I would have paid more for the better room, I just never got the option, then received the - it s your problem, not mine treatment).

I argued with him for 15 minutes, got no where, then ultimately hung up on him. Upon arrival he was waiting at the counter with a security guard (nothing says welcome home like someone ready to kick you off the property). When he saw me check in he came over and stared at the screen, waiting for a reason to fight with me, only to walk away when he saw I was paying for the room and not giving any issue.

Ultimately I am sitting on the balcony of my room, annoyed at the entire experience, upset enough to just be ready for my trip to end so I can get out of this place, and ready to just be home. The room itself is nice, the amenities are great, I love the staff (for the most part), and the clubs/pools are awesome, but sadly this will be my last visit.

I received such poor treatment that I cannot envision ever returning, and I live 30 minutes away. To think someone who has booked a room here four times in the past year or two can t get better service is incredible.

I m not giving it a one star because the place sucks, I m giving it a one because it feels they don t care about me or my business. Such a pity, they have been my go to for every adult celebration recently.

Live weekend band. Good food. Great atmosphere under present circumstances.

We've come to shepherds every year and it's always a phenomenal experience. The seafood is unmatched in the area and if you have a big appetite and want quality this is the place for you. Atmosphere is a party spot on the evenings and weekends which is fun.

It was a little pricey but service was great and the food was awesome

Tried staying for a friends birthday. They "upgraded" my room. The room they upgraded me to was half the size but had a better view. They did this without asking me and they were sold out so nothing could be done to move me back to the larger room.

Other than location and live music, over priced drinks with a Spring break crowd. Staff could care less we were there

Server Steve is very unprofessional, rude and lack of customer server skill.

Hotel was actually nice. Rooms were very spacious, with good views. When researching the hotel it said it was good for drinks and relaxing. They also said it was "close" to entertainment. When they said close they should've really said that you are above three clubs and bars on the first floor of the hotel. You can hear the music and guests well into the night. The walls are paper thin, so don't be surprised if you hear things at all hours. Overall, I wouldn't personally stay here again because of the clubs and bars.

Crab legs were sticking cause they were cold. Everything else was amazing though :)

I had and have so much fun here I always forget to take pictures. The buffet!

The resort is beautiful, only real issues we had was having to take a cold shower cause we couldnt get hot water or our room cleaned until day 3

Answer to your response since i couldn't reply back. We told the front desk and nothing was done but an "oh im sorry"

Tequila bar was nice and not crowded. To go to the patio area though you need to pay cover. Even if you buy 50 dollar shots. We ordered some nachos at the bar and they gave us chips and a sealed container of questions dip. For an "upscale" tequila experience it felt very cheap to see that.

It's Shephard's on Clearwater Beach!!! Not much to say but it's Shephard's and they are great, no matter what you will have a amazing time either day or night!!!! #FUNPLACE

I attended a wedding that stayed at the Shephard's Beach Resort. They had live music all through the day. Multiple bars made it easy to find a drink. Rooms were clean and nice.

Awesome Friday night outing with live music for a bachelorette party. The band playing was called New Divide and they were interacting with the crowd which was a lot of fun and they are super talented! Be careful, you might end up spending too much $$$ :)

Hubby and I had an amazing time. We ve visit Shephards everytime we are in the area and never disappointed. Amazing band, atmosphere and crowd.

Exciting outdoors bar with do, live music and interesting music video displays. Love the surf shop and valet parking as well.

Great place to hang out and have drinks. We spent 600$ in drinks and were then told we had to pay our bill and couldn't order anymore. Not sure why if none of us were drunk and we had more than enough money to cover the bill. Left the waitress over a 130$ tip and she went and cried to my friend about how it wasn't enough and he had to tip her more.

We love this place! We've been patrons for several years and try to stay at least a couple of days when we are in Tampa area. Vibrant place, live music most days, a wonderful waterside resort at a value. Service is great and access up and down the coast is easy. Highly recommended!

What a fun place. Live music, a number of bars, very clean, polite staff.

Very nice hotel. Or room had a huge balcony for a great price. Beach was well maintained. All servers at the bars were pleasant. The music outside starts kids until 2am, so keep that in mind.

I love the Sheppard's Beach Resort well managed staff smiles and sunshine everywhere!

Absolutely amazing. As close as an island feel as possible!

It was really really nice! The food was out of this world! High quality food, amazing service, beautiful interior. Definitely recommend going to this place.

Drinks over priced and what's up with all the "jits"?

I like it for the bar and the tenders, and bartenders. GET IT? Anyway this place is top botch quality with great enteranment. i will return! thank you guys

We had a blast room.was.awesome.overlooking the ocean beach time pool time all was great... they were short staffed like everywhere but the service was overall good and conditions understandable.... we had a great time...

Great atmosphere, staff were super accomodating and courteous to us Canadian tourists from out of town. Loved the mixed age crowd. Best part of the evening was the AMAZING DJ! Track after track had us glued to the dance floor! Will definitely be spreading the word about Sheppards.

Good asmopher . the buffet ok . Good salads and desserts . Sea food juts ok . Not consistent . Not too much variety . .

This place is a must stop for seafood buffet try and get the waitress name Callie Gray she is magnificent friendly and helpful we've had her as a waitress so many times she's like our family

Staff was great, rooms were pretty clean, the view was spectacular and I loved how they were constantly sanitizing and enforcing a mask rule. I also loved the live music you hear from your hotel room. I had an awesome time.

This is the way vacation should feel. The New Years Eve Party here should be on everyones Bucket List.

Super good the place is of quality the bevida and the attention was good worth paying what they ask and ami wife and ami ijo them fasino we traveled from chattanoga TN and then we would go again nice place I recommend it;)

We just were at a party battering at there beach section... Good music, good drink, great service and a great time!

Great staffing for a Tuesday. Band excellent as they were 2 years ago. Drinks however were inconsistent.

Always a great time on Saturday nights out on the tikki deck!! We had our bachlor/ette party there and couldnt have asked for a better night out!! The drinks are always very well made!! The buffet as well, is very yummy!

Love this place but until we can get up and dance again, it's a little slow.

STAY AWAY if you have kids or want a peaceful sleep at night! This hotel has live loud music every night, which is extremely loud and ends only at 2:30am. Drunk guests fighting at the hallways, super loud music, and no sound proof windows! No security to handle the drunk ctazy guests. Maids will enter your room every early morning, even if you have "do not disturb" sign on your door! Very disrespectful stuff memebers and manager, who cannot handle complaints in professional manner and will show no empathy that your child didn't sleep all night because of the extremely loud music and other guest behavior. All she could say that it's normal for the music to be so loud and that I knew that when was booking, which is super rude to say. I was never told that it will be loud parties at property till 2:30am and that if I have kids I should avoid their hotel! Their buffet is very expensive and food is not fresh, not much of variety either. Very bad experience and very disappointed how they taking care of their guests!

Sunday Brunch. It is the best. And the bottomless Mimosas are bad either!

The atmosphere was awesome but the only dissapointment was their drinks were mostly mixer

Very touristy. Several good bar choices, great for sunset drinks.

Had a great afternoon enjoying the beach amenities. We enjoyed lunch from the bar menu and our server was attentive. Matt at the beach hut renting jet skis was very helpful to us.

Great experience, the treatment was top notch, the facility s were great clean and well set up. Can t wait to go back.
