So let s leave the short version, and then the long version to follow....
I had a major issue, the manager on hand DAVID treated it like it was unimportant and was told I could get a refund if I wanted, but they were unwilling to do anything about it. End rant.
I ll try to keep this simple. I know one of the counter workers that makes reservations. In the past he will wave the resort fee for me, but I don t get anything special beyond that. I asked to duplicate my last resorvation which was a two bed two bath w/ living room pull out couch. I made it specific that I had six people. I even specifically went into detail about its location, and features. He confirmed that it was fine. I booked the room. We all moved on.
Here we go a month later, I call in to ask a simple question about parking, and suddenly I have no two room reservation, but now a two BED resorvation (with only one parking space). I ask to speak to the manager, the girl I was speaking with (she was nice enough, but ultimately implied nothing good would come from talking to him) grabbed him (David).
The manager acknowledged that he spoke with his employee about our reservation and he would not allow it for the price he quoted (which I never asked for) so he changed our room without my knowledge and expected us to deal with it. I had 6 people on their way to Shephards to stay the night, and after explaining it to him, the only thing he could offer was (for us) to pay for another room. He blamed his employee for not contacting me to tell me he could not give us the room for the agreed upon price (which was ok, I would have paid more for the better room, I just never got the option, then received the - it s your problem, not mine treatment).
I argued with him for 15 minutes, got no where, then ultimately hung up on him. Upon arrival he was waiting at the counter with a security guard (nothing says welcome home like someone ready to kick you off the property). When he saw me check in he came over and stared at the screen, waiting for a reason to fight with me, only to walk away when he saw I was paying for the room and not giving any issue.
Ultimately I am sitting on the balcony of my room, annoyed at the entire experience, upset enough to just be ready for my trip to end so I can get out of this place, and ready to just be home. The room itself is nice, the amenities are great, I love the staff (for the most part), and the clubs/pools are awesome, but sadly this will be my last visit.
I received such poor treatment that I cannot envision ever returning, and I live 30 minutes away. To think someone who has booked a room here four times in the past year or two can t get better service is incredible.
I m not giving it a one star because the place sucks, I m giving it a one because it feels they don t care about me or my business. Such a pity, they have been my go to for every adult celebration recently.
