Water park....This place was an absolute mess! Shower room was disgusting. It's too bad people cannot clean up after themselves. Total pigs. Maybe staff needs to double efforts to clean up after customers just to keep up with the swine.
The Waterpark still needs work. From what I could tell the renovation's are still in progress. It would be nice to have more than a single shower stall and locks you can pay to use built into the lockers. Why is the snack bar never open?

I do agree about some of those stinky smelly rooms as the carpet is aweful grimy when you walk on it with white socks on, your white socks will turn black or dark brown from just a short walk through the room. They need to shampoo the carpets more often!!!!!!!
Some strange families that check in on a weekend seem to mess up rooms SO SO MUCH ON PURPOSE & so bad that it takes all day to clean! Employees vacume cleaners ran so long s time and got overheated that they got ruined because of the filthy garbaged dirty floors costumers leave behind, ON PURPOSE! They spill popcorn, chips, and whatever else their garbage is and they leave it all over the carpet in every inch of the room! The ones with babies leave dirty diapers laying around in the room, smell, too! They plug up toilets! They steal things from the rooms! They steal pillows, towels, wash cloths, and whatever else they can get their hands on to stuff into their luggage!! They dig and scar into tables tops with ink pen writings and drawings! They dirty up microwave oven so bad that the heated food in them burnt in them couldn't come off hardly, the whole counter tops got filthy, STAINED from colored whatever it was? Waste baskets need to be larger and they get overfilled, customers overfill them, spilled all kinds of everything, even gunky foods that you could think of all around them, WHAT?
THEY DO THIS IN THEIR OWN HOME, TOO? A few families REVENGFULLY, turned on the Jacuzzi faucet and left it on and flooded the room and fled. What? Because they didnt win? THERE IS NO END TO THIS, EVER! SO, don't ever think that the employees are not so perfect! It is the costumers that come and DIRTY UP THE PLACE ARE NOT ANY BETTER!!!
No wonder SOME OF the employees are SICK & TIRED LOOKING, THEY DONT GET PAID HIGH ENOUGH WAGES, ANYWAY, (Lower wages that Wal-Mart Employees) and, especially after cleaning up all their customers messes every single day, all day, and at times the employees have to stay late after hours, because, at times, the FRONT DESK & MANAGER & GUARDS have to HELP clean up all THE DIRTY PIG PEN RENTED OUT ROOMS that certain costumers leave behind, ON PURPOSE, FOR REVENGE?
WHAT? JUST BECAUSE THEY DIDNT WIN A THOUSAND BUCKS?
I do have a complaint, it is the phone service for front desk as they rarely ever answer at the time needed be as I then learned the phone # to "KEY CONYROL". THEY ALWAYS ANSWER! HA!
Water Park is good. My daughter's cute darling son cried because he wanted to stay longer and go play just a bit longer, but, it was time to go. I, myself have nothing to complain about THE WATER PARK. We will continue going to THE WATER PARK. We (6 of us) went to THE WATER PARK, once). IT WAS FUN FUN FUN. We stayed over night. The experience was great. I had on my bikini. I loved it. I want to go back! Soon!
When we stayed there, we remained quiet enough! And we didnt make noise that would disturb our next door or across the hall! When it was at check out time, we left a nice generous tip on the table, made sure all the garbage was neatly put in the waste basket, picked up every single item on the floor, cleaned and wiped the tub and sink and mirrors, cleaned the mirror spotless, and we remade the bed, anyway, perfectly. Layed our used towels in the tub. Cleaned microwave, placed the remote nicely back where we found it, made sure we cleaned up our everything, and checked out at 8:30 am!!!
Fun place to kill time. I don't gamble, but I like taking my kids to the arcade, and water park.
My Dad won! Only problem was getting them to pay him! They were very rude to us and told him he couldn't get his money until he gets a valid driver's license. Than we ran into a really nice man and he said just go to Walmart and get a fishing license. That was all we had to do. Why would you treat someone so bad and be rude when the solution was simple.
The machines were tight as he'll. If you got in the bonus you were lucky to get $0.10 a spin.The downstairs cafe was a laugh and a half. Sign said "Be back at 3:00. Didn't get back till 3:30 then it took over half an hour for a simple burger. Have to admit the burger was good.
The amount of cigarette smoke in the air was too much. Staff was very friendly though
Renovations looked nice. Waterpark was amazing but if you dont like the smell of cigarettes avoid the casino at all cost
The entire hotel reeks of smoke, including the non-smoking rooms. Stained & soiled bedding was common. Service was incredibly slow and the staff was apathetic at best.
The Casino was so smoke filled it could not be tolerated for more than a few minutes.

Honestly this place is horrible. ok let me rephrase that, the staff and management here is horrible. They are extremely rude and unprofessional. The check in staff are unwelcoming and that's being polite, the management staff are uneducated and lack any skills in customer service. I was shocked that half the staff (and that is sadly not even an exaggeration) have hickeys all over their faces and necks, they have no mannerism and again absolutely no customer service skills. I've stayed at many many hotels and granted I wasn't expecting the MGM Grand or the Bellagio but I was expecting hospitality at the hotel. The water park is nice and a great place for kids, the casino it's self is just that a casino, the rooms are outdated but sleepable. The hotel itself would be fine but the staff just ruins the whole thing. Someone commented on here that most of the staff looks and dresses like gangsters and for me I don't care how they dress or what they look like... they could have tats from head to toe (at least then their hickeys would blend in), they can dress in anything they want as far as I'm concerned but their lack of service, lack of knowledge and lack of self respect in their job makes this hotel a horrible place to stay. It honestly makes me sad to see such a possible wonderful place be run by untrained individuals. I was hoping to be proud to be there and was thrilled to stay at a hotel that was run by my own people but after being there I'm embarrassed and disgusted with the image they portrayed to any and all visitors. I know going forward I will not be back to this hotel and yes I am only one customer that they are losing but I think the bigger issue is that they not just lost my business they also lost all of my respect. I can go 45 minutes up 59 and stay at shooting star and be treated like I am welcomed. I do not in any way, shape or form recommend this hotel to anyone. Hopefully the GM or even the owner(s) will take some of these reviews and try and make the necessary changes needed by maybe incorporating some rules, guidelines, guidance, and training. And I strongly believe they should start with the management staff.

Used to enjoy our stay at the casino but the room costing so much cause of your new renovated rooms also staffing is horrible went to bring my family down to eat and at 4 pm shift change we waited and waited to get service at the snack bar a lady said I been here my 8 hour shift I ain t helping you sad but true I would be embarrassed having staff like this and then another staff member said someone called in and won t be here for two hours first of all where is the shift manager ? Nor a supervisor helping as there people waiting to eat so we left and ate later up in the buffet that was even more horrible with so little food and cold and servers that come only once to your table to get drinks and forgets about you !! Need more training and attention to your customers if you want us to come back as we won t be back with our family !!
Horrible costumer service . I called the lobby and ask at what time the restaurant closed and the guy said come down and ask them your self. Rooms never get cleaned or dirty towels exchange for clean ones..
For the past 5 years I have brought my children to the water park and everytime they go they have a great time and having a casino at the same place makes it a plus for the parents. A win win for both
Cause I won alot of money. Service is very hit and miss in the malt shop. One time it be great food and service. Other times service was a joke. Seemed like nobody in charge and super rude. Especially since I'm white and a native American casino.
The room was fine seeing as the Hotel had just completed a major renovation. However, the food was just terrible. The menu was subpar and the buffet was inedible.
Well we were here during the storm on the 26 27. No food in casino was open due to lack of workers. The sign said buffet is open so you go up there it's closed till 5. Really.

New renos to room look great. Check in and out was easy. Kids had a blast at the water park and arcade. Snack shop was never open in the swimming area which was annoying and the beds we had this time were very firm (not a fan). Our second time going and we will continue coming. Family always have a great time.
Good for families. Still has a strong cigarette odour on the first floor on the way to the water park and arcade. The kids love the water park. It's a short 1 hour drive to Grand Forks for additional shopping.
Well I stopped at the seven clans casino in thief River and was very appalled that you kind of smoke cigarettes and or upon coming in there the casino you have to show ID either a state ID driver's license anyways let me say I didn't have my ID and I'm 44 years old. So I had a full waste a trip of over a hour and 45 minute drive
Recently remodelled very nice hotel. Very spacious rooms. Great deal for Canadians at $39.95 USD for up to 2 nights. Just go to the Players Club and get a Players Club Card before you check in and they will give you a voucher for the special rate.
I accidentally reserved a room at the Red Lake location for my kids birthday, the Hotel Manager was able to accommodate me last minute. I totally forgot to get her name, but she was awesome. Thanks again
Decent hotel and Waterpark, lots of parking space and great food at the restaurant.. thier house keeping and cleaning suicides should really be number one on thier priority list and ventilation system needs to be improved to keep the smoking fumes in the casino area instead of having it spreading all over the building especially due to Waterpark right next to it which attracts a lot of kids there daily
Bad food, long waits, uncomfortable beds. This place was not a good experience, the waterpark was small but fun, all the games in the arcade were "out of order" or broken. Nothing near by the location. 10 out of 10 would not recommend.

We stayed @ Seven Clans / TRF on Saturday March 18 2017. I would never go here again. The staff at the front desk was rude. The water park staff could not answer ANY of our questions. We were not told that the water park was a seperate purchase when we asked about it during our room reservation. We paid $250 +tax in rooms, and then ended up paying ANOTHER $100 in water park bracelets. There were NO towels in the water park . NONE. When we asked a park employee he stated "they're in the wash, I think." I observed pool employees walking around and handing out towels to people, seeming to pick and choose who they went to. The arcade was a complete joke. More then half of the games were "out of order" and of those that did work more than half of them wouldn't print out tickets. Which was almost irrelevant because the prize shelves were EMPTY! We spent over $60 on tokens and my grandkids got a plastic ring and 2 hackey sacks!
We asked for a roll-away for our room when I made the reservation. After swimming and eating (that's another story) we called front desk and asked for our roll away. "Sorry, we don't have any left." And then when we asked for extra bedding for the pull out couch and for the person who was supposed to have a roll away the response was "We don't have any extra bedding or pillows. We're out." Our room slept 5 and there were 2 towels in the bathroom.
The restaurant was under construction, which we knew before checking in. However, you can't order from the Malt Shop from your room, you must go to the Malt Shop to order. So all 10 of us had to go down to eat. OR, go order and bring it all back upstairs. We chose to eat in the malt shop which was ok, just not accommodating for 10.
The entire experience was an absolute joke. I can't get over how unprofessional the ENTIRE experience was.
Kids are oblivious to things like this so they had a good time, however I would NEVER recommend this place if you're looking for a pleasant, relaxing experience.
In a nut shell...rude staff, no directions to rooms, no helpful information, inexperienced park employees, hard beds, no towels, no extra bedding, no restaurant, crappy arcade with broken video games...just all around a bad, bad experience. If I could have gone -5 stars I would have.

The big reopening and the ball was dropped big time, 8am open time didn't happen till nearly 10 hours later and the response about opening was always within the hour. Don't waste your time, go elsewhere if that's how they handle a reopening can't imagine it'll be any better inside.
Our family of 5 had the buffet. Food was cold and not very good. A person needs to go right at 11:00 and 5:00 when food is just being served!! Traci

Our stay was good. However, one of our water passes got charged to the room and I was right there with cash to pay. Also the arcade needs serious updating, half of the machines didn't work and the prizes were a dud compared to other arcades. I also wish the water park area had more tubes to go around for the areas the required them.

Great pool for the kids but only partially open on the week days. Rooms were large but we're starting to show signs of their age. The casino was alright but there was a fair amount of smoking. Overall I'd visit again.

Horrible pays, I have lost 1000.s with very low winnings. Shooting star has been alot better than Seven Clans. The food and service has been horrible at Seven Clans, the man in charge of the kitchen flipped a middle finger at an older lady while walking away after she said there was no potatoes.

I had a coupon given to me this past Canada day just as many others did. The coupon says in bold letters boardered by a maple leaf saying " UNLIKE OUR COMPETITORS THIS COUPON DOES NOT EXPIRE AND IS GOOD ANY DAY OF THE WEEK"..... THIS COUPON SAYS IT IS GOOD FOR ANY STANDARD OR DEULUX SUIT......okay perfect well I went to use it this May 2018 obviously looking to book in with a delux suit. When first trying to book a room they would not honour it for a delux suit....like any put out customer I asked to speak with a manager so for what ever reason I was transfered to some supervisor in the players club. I tell him my story and he says yes we will honour it and transfers me back to the booking desk where the lady also agrees and decides to honour my coupon. About 2 hours later I receive a call from the booking supervisor after I have already been booked into a delux suit at the coupon rate. He now tells me they will not honour it. (His excuse was that the players club supervisor never said that to me??? What?!!!) After about 20 min or arguing my point of that being the worst customer service one can revive I was told I would be contacted by the manager who never contacted me.
**BED BUGS**I called and reported that I was bit over 20 times all over my body while staying there. I was in room 1031. I was interrogated by a manager named Perry or Terry. I asked for a call back from the GM which never happened. The manager I talked to never apologized and never said they would shut down the room to be tested. So the next person to stay there they don't care about either. Disgustingly horrible room and employees. Housekeeping also removed the do not disturb sign, knocked on my door and asked if I wanted room service. So I can only assume they enter your room when you're not there or wake you up when you're asleep. Internet is horrible. It doesn't load anything and makes you keep reconnecting. The fact that it's free makes no difference. What a horrible casino.

Nicely updated room with a stern "no smoking or drinking" in the room. It's clean and subdued colors. I think I got one of the only rooms without a balcony. I feel it is a bit pricey for what it is, but then again, I'm cheap... So, yeah.
It's sort of one of those what do you really expect situations; it is a low budget place. You can win a significant chunk of change however & I've yet to strongly feel that it's more or less 'loose' with its money than similar venues. The card rewards system is cheap, I can say that. I don't even bother with it. If you don't gamble like an addict they knock your promo to what amounts to an insult. I wouldn't stay in the rooms but I am perhaps unfair holding a years ago bed bug issue against them.
To sum up, if you're from Grand Forks it's closer than Mahnomen and they're just as happy to take your money as well as dole it out when the computer decides it's time to drop a win.
Low payout ratio. Mahnomen has higher. Fun waterpark though.
Big comfortable rooms. The buffet was excellent. Great assortment of slots. Blackjack table was enjoyable.
