I like going here. It's a gem for a quick university study and it's a nice campus. They built a soccer field which is cool and looks amazing but maybe it wasn't needed. Parking is actually fine on campus if you don't mind a short walk. But that field would have made for a nice updated parking lot with lights hat turn on and. All others feel safe at night and tell you how many spots are open with digital counters. Lol either way they are improving.

My daughter graduated from High School with a 3.8 GPA / Cum Laude and is now currently a freshman attending San Diego State and living on campus. She absolutely loves it and has had nothing but wonderful things to say about the classes, the teachers, the campus and the dorms. She is currently an undecided/undeclared major and the teachers have been nothing but exceptional in helping her find her way. If you ask her she wouldn't change a thing. She is excited about her future - ahead in her classes and scheduled to graduate in four years. The campus is beautiful, always clean with lots of energy and activities from the students and teachers. Everyone is always friendly.

I was very disappointed in the schools handling of harassment issues with students and faculty. I am also very saddened by their treatment of the hard working professors at the school. It is a shame it is being ruined by administration greed from higher ups. Class sizes keep growing and so does intuitions.

Extraordinary Campus in 1996 I was in that place directing the Latin Society team and it was wonderful to be there, I miss coming back. I must add that the teaching staff like Master Rodolfo Jcobo with whom I shared in this University let me see the extraordinary person he is, his human and professional value, his excellent gift of people, his solidarity with students and people, I think they are worthy values to admire.

Horrible and awful university. Human Resources department is racist. They discriminate in their hiring process. They hire based on race and national origin rather than qualifications. I put many applications with them but they never called me for an interview even though I was very qualified for the job. They hire less qualified candidates based on favoritism. Racist school!

They call it STDSU for a reason. If your top priority in a university is academics, this is not the school for you. There is a concert hall next to the library and an arena on campus. If you come to study in the evening on event days you won't find a place to park because the campus sells student parking for the events.

SDSU, although labeled as a party school, is a great place to get an education. A lot of the programs are impacted, because it is a popular school to go to- this has made the requirements qite high. I'm not sure what the GPA limit is, but it was about 3.75 when I attended about 5 yrs ago.

I had a choice of UCSD or SDSU if I wanted to stay in San Diego. SDSU has a much better comm/marketing.Take advantage of all you can during your schooling experience. SDSU also has one of the top international business departments as well. Travel Abroad!

Also, as a note, you can party if you wanted to (I suggest doing a little and making connections), but it's NOT mandatory to party to get a degree.

Good luck. Go Aztecs!

School is amazing and getting better, and better, and better every year that goes by. SDSU is throwing the party reputation away and is being recognized for a good University with a quality education. I am so proud...

I graduated last year with a Microbiology degree. SDSU helped me get into a program after graduation that took my degree to the next step and now I am 2 months away from getting my dream job. I am blessed to have graduated from this school and hope the staff and teachers continue to teach and support students with their career goals.

I've taken my son to basketball games while I was there, and yesterday he stated, "Dad I want to go to SDSU just like you," made me almost cry. Future Aztec for life and proud to call SDSU my school. Thank You So Much!!!

SDSU is a business, not a school. Even the professors will tell you. Speaking of the professors, they aren t very good. You ll get a good professor here and there but majority are trash. The classes are also really over packed. I have a room with a max of 60 students allowed but over 90 students are crammed in there.

Back to SDSU being a business. They will siphon money from you anyway they can. All textbooks are online so you have to buy expensive access codes, all the meal plans are horrible compared to other schools.

Overall I could not recommend this school to others. I had a 3.8 GPA before coming to SDSU but due to the difficulty of the classes as well as the incompetence of the professors I m seriously struggling.

Beautiful campus! My wife currently attends this school, and I enjoy visiting this campus any chance I get. I frequently visit some of the restaurants on campus since the trolley stops just below the school.

I applied for a doctorate program ( I am an international student) and submitted all required documents on time as requested on the portal. After checking if my documents are complete and calling the international office of admission they told me everything is complete your papers are on file waiting for the department's decision. I called the department to check on the status and I was told that I was not considered because my documents were sent late. The admissions office did not send it to the department on time and we cant put your file for review. Although my documents were all submitted on time. I complained and asked for supervisor, the staff are so rude and they treat prospective students with disrespect. The supervisor kept reading same lines from the website claiming that I dont read clearly. And when I asked him why are there two dates for submitting the whole documents he ignored me and kept postponing my issue. Very terrible experience, blaming me of being late although It was sent on time and after paying the fees required. they did not even consider my application!! this was waste of my time, money and effort If this is the international admission's attitude and actions only god knows what's next! Terrible experience

Being the youngest of 13 kids and having my own 2 ...

Being the youngest of 13 kids and having my own 2 kids in college, I have been exposed to many colleges throughout the US. This university is absolutely the worst institution in my experience, in terms of its administrative services. I'm not sure if it has to do with SDSU being a state university that the employees/staff there behave like typical public employees, that they pretty much don't care.
Student Account Services has been the most frustrating for me, especially when my child is an out-of-state student. Should any issue arise, I can't just go there to speak to anyone face to face.
First Semester-Freshmen year: My son told me that his meal plan was suspended because his fees were not paid. According to my bank, the check was sent to the address listed on the website but the payment never got to where it's supposed to go. When I called or when my son stopped by Student Account Services multiple times to check the status of the payment, we were told that the payment could have ended up in one of the offices and that it would be difficult to track the payment. Not once did the university send me or my son a notification via email. While the staff there dragged their feet, my son couldn't eat. The manager of Student Accounts Services was apathetic to say the least. It took a few days to straighten this out while my son was locked out of his meal plan.

Since that disastrous start, I paid via eCheck. Things seemed to be ok until one time my son entered the wrong routing number on the payment. Without any notifications via email, the Portal immediately locked us out of the eCheck option. The only ways to pay was via a wire transfer or credit card. There is no second chance to correct our own error.

Out of State Tuition: The university bills for all sorts of charges, except for out of state tuition. Why is that? Why does the system have to be so bureaucratic?!

We received broadcast messages from the university president, sounding all positive, supportive etc. and that he and his staff care about the students and their experiences at the university. But I'm not buying that. I had contacted him and his staff about my frustrations with Student Account Services but I never heard back from anyone, not even an acknowledge that they had received my email. I didn't expect any of the operations to be changed overnight but it would have been nice if someone at the administrative office acknowledged my email which was sent to at least 5 recipients.

Class registration: computer system is not up-to-date with all prerequisites. For example, if Chem 101 and 102 are prerequisites for Chem 105, the computer system would only accept 101 as the prerequisite. Any students who took chem 102 in this scenario would not get his/her class.

So no...I am not impressed with the administration at all. My son is finishing his junior year. I am looking forward to him graduating from this university so I can finally be rid of these frustrations. There are quite a few other institutions in the San Diego area such as UCSD, USD that are much better than SDSU. I would not recommend this school to people I know.

Oh man, what a fantastic place. Loved it so much I stayed 5 years! Professors were decent for the most part. Professor Jeff Hay (History) was absolutely phenomenal. I went here from 09-14 when sports were in their golden era and when tuition was still $3k a semester. Overall just a marvelous campus with so much to do. Take advantage of every amenity (especially the ARC) while you're here. San Diego is a great city and you will have zero regrets here I promise you that.

Beautiful campus and use to be a well thought of college but with comments from professors like Jonathan Graubart wouldn't waste my time. No need for those kind of comments and certainly karma is around the corner for you.

I am not a student here but I took a lot of tests for my home school at this location. The student services and testing offices are great. The staff are extremely helpful and kind. The campus looks very well kept, I wouldn't mind attending myself.

Fantastic university. Excellent academic and social experience. I no longer live in Southern California but when I come home I try to get to State. Loved Roberto's on University Avenue (although it's named something else now).

The oldest university in San Diego. Parking lots (not free) available. Public transportation available. HWY I-8 nearby. Many dinning options nearby. Not too many study options (colleges) available. Campus is not very big. Easy access. About 10 minutes driving distance to Westfield Mission Valley Mall and Fashion Valley Mall.

I have been a student 40 years ago. A good university along the Mexican border. An interactive lecture has been made. When I went to the West Coast on a business trip, I would visit if I had time.

Two of my daughters graduated from San Diego State University, my youngest did this month (May 13th). It's a beautiful campus! It has a lot of the old Spanish Mission Architecture. SDSU has many great undergraduate and graduate programs and degrees. The school is very popular and has some 30,000. students enrolled at any given time. The faculty and staff are very involved and very helpfulp. Both to the students and parents and to the community in general. Love this University! Go Aztecs!!

Terrible. Apparently some of the staff think it is ok to share confidential academic information about students that aren't even attending. The rest of the staff and the dean apparently dont even care enough to address the issue or respond to emails. Guess an official complaint has to be made. Too bad a couple bad apples made their way into what was otherwise a great school.
