Highly Recommended. Fascinating how the reconstruction was finished with GDR funds in 1985. Did a combined tour of the opera / old town and it was brilliant. Our city guide managed to convey a lot of knowledge in a humorous way.

Expensive but good! The orchestra replayed a little, a good performance, the quality of performance is beyond praise! Bravo to Dmitry Popov !!! (concerts: Longing, Bohemia)

Amazing! The highlight of our visit, also thanks to a very good tour, which explained the many special features of the interior perfectly! Great, what Semper created here and what was then carefully restored, true to the original!

Beautiful landmark of Dresden. Is unfortunately operated by people who are politically involved. I think that's not something to look for in the opera. And if you are already committed then you should do that for the preservation of his culture and not for any ill 68er fantasies. Thank goodness that will hopefully soon be history.

The Semperoper is well worth seeing. Even if you don't attend a performance, you should join the tour. It is worth it .. You get a very good, professionally flawless tour of the #Semperoper. A photo permit can also be purchased. Definitely worth seeing. Be sure to look inside too.

As if we had suspected it: On Saturday it was raining, so you would have to go to the opera, said my wife and I, more precisely to the Semperoper. In Dresden this meant that you bought tickets from Dresden Information or ordered them online. The groups waited outside at the agreed meeting point and were picked up on time for the tour. Photography without a flash was allowed, but it cost an additional 3 - quite business-minded, our Saxons! After all, you were allowed to take photos at all, in contrast to the new Green Vault. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, approachable and tried very hard to familiarize us with the subject - also for non-opera lovers; Pictures of earlier views of the Semperoper he brought with him underlined his representations. Our guide was very knowledgeable about history, and various bon mots never let his short lectures get boring. The neo-renaissance building originally dates from 1869, rebuilt by Gottfried Semper in 1878, and was ultimately completely destroyed as a result of the Anglo-American bombing raids in February 1945. Interestingly, the Semper Opera was reconstructed in GDR times and completely renovated until it reopened in 1985 , four years before the end of the GDR. I will probably not be able to understand why the comrades revived such an art form as the opera, which is normally decried as arch-bourgeois art. Overall, the guided tour through the building and the explanations from our extremely competent tour guide made for an entertaining morning. We were more than impressed by the splendor inside the opera house, but we would have imagined the interior of the opera house to be much larger - as the perspective of the television cameras can be deceiving. Would my wife and I spend at least 200 on tickets to e.g. B. to hear Mrs. Netrebko sing? If the alternative to this were a concert with Roland Kaiser on the Elbwiesen, we would definitely prefer Roland Kaiser, no offense, dear friends of classical music, but for us, "Santa Maria" would come a long way before "O Sole mio" or " Nessun dorma ". Nevertheless, a visit to the Semperoper, with or without an opera performance, is highly recommended.

Just beautiful. With meticulous effort everything was restored exactly as it was done before the World War. The tour took us from the bottom up and finally into the opera hall, with a few anecdotes that would certainly have been lost if we had seen it independently. I would like to come back, but then to a performance.

Attended the Ceasar in Egypt show here. The building is really beautiful even though it was renovated in the GDR period and the marble you see is not original. But its amazing nonetheless! The hall itself also is really artistic and beautiful and has a very vintage vibe to it. The staff is super friendly and kind. The ticket office is in the building in front of the Opera and not in it.

A very impressive visit. We could look at Sylvester La Traviata.
If you want to see the stage completely (without having to be careful), you should actually take places in the middle. And higher than the third rank I would not recommend.

Impressive construction.

Impressive construction.
Today was Open Monument Day. Actually a great thing.

Sorry, we weren't allowed in shortly after 4 p.m. Although it was open until 5 p.m.
That was a shame because we had come from further afield.
Therefore 1 point deduction.

Cost:
Regular admission price 11 EUR

We took the tour today. With her expression and gestures, as well as her own enthusiasm, our lady captured the scope of the arts and the special atmosphere of the opera in a wonderful way.
However, we also found that 11 per person for a 45-minute tour with a lot of storytelling and little reputation was very, very steep. We looked at 4 stations and could e.g. not even going from one staircase to the next on a floor to let this affect us. Overall, I found the tour very worthwhile, but the price-performance ratio doesn't suit me.
