Dresden s Semperoper, part of the Zwinger complex, is the most famous opera house in Germany and one of Europe s most historic and renowned centres of music.

It was closed during World War II, in August 1944, and six months later destroyed by the Allied air attacks. Its reconstruction took a long time, almost 40 years.

Tip: Photos are stunning at night time.

Great opera house. We only enjoyed a guided tour. We have to catch up on an opera visit next time.

Beautiful at night. Hundreds of bats can be admired. Everywhere people make music. I have only been here for a few hours and am thrilled. By train from Frankfurt / M. to Leipzig, change once. Very relaxed travel. I can only recommend.

I followed a group visit in Italian, with a very prepared guide. It would deserve the vision of a show because the operatic billboard covers ten months a year (at least as we have been told)

If you can't go to a performance, you should definitely take a guided tour. This takes almost 45 minutes and is really very informative. You have to buy tickets online at least one day in advance. There is a combined ticket for the palace and the opera, which I can recommend to anyone who is in Dresden for the first time. However, the opera is only open to visitors for a small time window every day. This time window is always different and sometimes there are days when there are no guided tours. You should definitely inform yourself beforehand. That you have to buy an extra photo license for 3 despite tickets is unnecessary.

Semper's opera was rebuilt true to the original in 1985, and the entire interior was originally created, such as. fake marble, more expensive than real marble! A visit is worthwhile!

Well worth a visit in any case! The historic building is very well preserved. We watched an opera. Also from the 4th row in the first row you can see the stage very well. On the website you can, as soon as you click on a seat, see what view you would have on the stage.

Well, what can nan say. Rebuilt in Honny's time, restored use. according to old plans, but ... the cheapest materials. The entire opera inside looks so kitschy and cheap. Also: some things are in a bad way. During the guided tours a lady rattled down what she had learned by heart. No answer to questions. The ravages of time are gnawing at every corner. The whole thing is money-making. But we, I count myself among them, tourists like to pay, even for nothing ...

Simply beautiful and always an experience. Music, singing staging of the highest quality. My daughter 7 years was totally thrilled by the aria of the Queen of the Night.

Unfortunately this show seemed to be too close to the screening, so unfortunately we were chased by.

This place has something magical about it. When I stand in front of it, I always have so much reverence for the builder. I love Dresden

If you first fight through the catastrophic palace square, the Semperoper is definitely a good hideaway for the nobility.
So I was not there in a long time, but I have only nice memories of this building. Great canteen with flair and views, mystical-brown passages where there are singing lessons in rooms with very dry acoustics (good soundproofing), etc.
Pompous operas and dress rehearsals by world-famous concert pianists.
Stylish posters and subtly shocking productions according to the latest pictures I've seen.
The singers also look good, but big opera dancers are now less believe.
Despite the century-old music, the opera seems to be very up to date. This is not just a meeting place for retirees who only consume coffee and cake and talk about illnesses.
There are also many celebrities, sexy artists and noble Asians among the guests.

A beautiful building on "Theaterplatz" in the historic old town of Dresden. We did not visit it from the inside.

A must during a visit to Dresden. Lots of history, a special architecture with a special choice of materials during the interior design. A guided tour is worthwhile.

Semperoper is always a terrific experience ....... Last night Sleeping Beauty was the absolute highlight !!!!

Impressive leadership. The complete space around the Semperoper is perfect for sightseeing. Even if it does not match the Semper Opera House, I would like to add so that I ate excellent in Bavaria brewery well in our favor my contribution. Is within walking distance. Indescribable! Like in a fairytale ... probably the most beautiful ballet performance I've ever seen! (Sleeping Beauty) Dresden without the Semperoper - does not work !!!

Definitely worth a visit, even if you're not into classical music you'll be amazed and entertained by the atmosphere. Go for a concert instead of an opera tho.

We were invited to a stage construction presentation by a sponsor. It was the backdrop for Nabuco presented with first rehearsal in front of a backdrop. We were able to enter the stage and got a lot explained. Very impressive. I'm not an opera fan, but the Semperoper with its impressive flair makes me want to visit an opera performance there.
I think that you have to have seen and experienced.

Had booked a tour and quite like that I would have expected much more than a few paintings that were briefly explained and the auditorium with a closed curtain. Also, the lady repeated many times again and again. I was disappointed.

Was in the ballet Sleeping Beauty, it was beautiful. Great atmosphere, great architecture. Definitely worth a visit when in Dresden.

The View to Old sity from the balkony is great. The cheapest ticket to konzert was 6 euro. Orepa remind my opera house in Odessa

Unfortunately we could only admire the Semperoper from outside. It was already too late. There are so many great things to see in Dresden. The city is fantastic and worth a city break of its own.

When you are miles away from your homeland and suddenly you see a Greek element (At the top of the main entrance a statue of Dionysus leads with Ariadne a quiver of panthers.) The least you feel is pride! Beautiful building!
