This is what an opera house should be! Gorgeous house. Fabulous choir. Spectacular orchestra. Dresden can be a bit off the beaten path, but if you're an opera buff, put this on your list!

My first visit to Dresden after the reunification left me frozen with awe. An incredibly beautiful city. Visiting the Semperoper is an absolute must. Tickets are just around the corner. We were lucky enough to be led by the old architect. He was fascinating.

Always an experience! We watched the musical "West Side Story". A fantastic performance. Of course, the Semperoper is an impressive opera house with great acoustics and a nice ambience. The staff is friendly and courteous. I can only recommend to everyone, to enjoy such a pleasure, whether a concert of the Dresden Staatskapelle under the direction of Christian Thielemann, an opera or ballet performance.

Excellent acoustics, classical architecture of the opera. There is no middle aisle in the hall, you need to get to the central places in a timely manner.
Primitive buffets, uncomfortably located.

A beautiful Dresden opera house. Most trips and independent sightseeing starts here. The work of Gottfrid Semper, built in 1838-1841. Burned after 28 years. The building was rebuilt a lot. In 1871, the construction was carried out by the son of Gottfrid Manfred, because Gottfrid fell out of favor with the authorities of the Kingdom of Saxony. Re-fire as a result of the bombing in 1945. At the turn of the 60s and 70s, the final reconstruction began.

An absolute must for every Dresden tourist! The secrets of the building and the interesting history of the house should be explored in a guided tour (tip: Sunday evenings special tours are offered from 22 hours, an absolute highlight!).

Semperoper is "the" Semperoper. What else can you say? Depending on who has staged them, the performances can only be viewed subjectively. Either like it or not. I find the orchestra phenomenal no matter what is played. Everyone should have experienced it at least once.

During the day there is the possibility to participate in guided tours. Duration in about 45 minutes, very interesting and informative. Performances are in this house an experience of the extra class!

If you are interested in architecture and would like to see the house from the inside without having to imagine it, you should definitely book a tour. This is also possible online beforehand. Our tour was pretty busy. It is best to book an early time, then you will be less exposed to other groups. Our guide told a lot of interesting things and it is really impressive how much detail has gone into the design of the building. You can't record everything at all, but a tour is definitely worth it for a basic insight into the origins of the Semper Opera and the history of the house. We found it very interesting and can only recommend it.

My rating relates to a GUIDED TOUR and NOT a piece shown:

I have NEVER seen anyone build a tour so carelessly, even though it can lead through such an exciting, historic and visually clear building. The 45-minute tour overshadowed total demotivation. The simplest questions were either not answered at all or - clearly - incorrectly.

11 euros would be okay for the tour. At the cloakroom another 3 euros as a "photo license" are outrageous! And then at the end everyone takes pictures with their cell phones - even those without a visible sticker. And the tour guide? Accept it, say nothing. Then I feel that the person who paid has really been hugged. Jackets are given without numbers and after the tour all are simply laid out on the counter - self-service ("Let's see which jacket I like best here"?).

Guided tours sometimes every 15 minutes - a money printing machine. Tourist handling as it is worse and above all loveless.

I had imagined completely different so it was good to look at everything with the guide leadership and explanations super, understandable and sufficient mini deduction, because you have to pay to make pictures
