Terrible Experience

Had been shipping with Savo Store for a while, and i was loving it, that is until one day i ordered some items that were not that heavy but happened to be a bit bulky.

Turns out if you'd like to air ship such items, they charge you using the volumetric weight. Why? Because the cost is higher and not because of any logical reason. Had the item been heavier than it was bulky, they'd have charged based on the actual weight.

The Items i was shipping, i had bought at a total of ksh60,000/-, Savo store was charging me ksh230,000/- for shipping. So ridiculous!! I just couldn't go through with it knowing that I can buy the same items and ship them using a different company and wouldn't even spend half of that amount.

When i contacted them about it, trying to plead for a discount or something, they told me that there was nothing they could do and that it was similar to shipping cotton wool. That they'd charge you for the volume it occupies and not the weight of the item. Very interesting. I had to leave the items with them coz it was not worth it.

I wish they would have advised me against shipping the items before actually doing it. I would have gladly requested for a return or even opted to ship the items by sea.

I would highly advise anyone against using Savo store if you need a bulky item like really quick. They exploit their customers and claim that they try their best to save their clients' money as much as possible.

Maybe i was the one that was too dumb to make the mistake of shipping bulky items with Savo store but i really hope no one else makes the same mistake i did. Lesson learnt.

Though, other than that, their customer care is very responsive and friendly and their shipping time is not too bad.

I have been using Kentex since then and recently started using Shop & Ship and they haven't failed me yet. In fact, one of shop & ship's shipping policies state that you will "Never get charged volumetrically", how awesome! Wish i came across them sooner.

A friend recommended Savo Store to me a while back and I couldn't be happier. I recently my first package from the U.S which was so nicely wrapped. At every point, Savo Store team would contact me via email and provide an update of the purchased items. I loved the attention to detail which led to my ordering two more packages through them. I can't wait to get them delivered as well. Additionally, the buy and ship service is quite effective as well especially when one is unable to use their debit cards online to purchase items. I wish the service charge was slightly lower but oh well, that's a minor issue that I hope will soon be looked at. Can perfumes also be shipped twice a month?

Otherwise, I recommend the use of Savo Store any day. Thanks Jacqueline and June for being amazing customer care representatives.

Decent place. Sad they don't have a cbd office. Picked up my first package and the lady at the counter was warm and welcoming. This was my first shipment so i can't really give much feedback but I'm looking forward to shipping more through them. So far so good

I've been shipping with Savo Store for almost 1 year now. Great customer service, reliable, honest and a very user friendly system. I've never lost an item and even where i somehow miss updating certain products, they always bring it to my attention.
Kudos to them.
I give them a 4 to challenge them to maintain a shipping period of 10 working days on average. My last shipment came in 7 days!!!! How Awesome is that?

Since i purchased and shipped to their US warehouse to having my package delivered to kenya, Savo Store's communication has been impeccable.
I didn't have a single moment of doubt throughtout the process as they kept me appraised via Email and also, i could always check updates for myself on their website.
Delivery services for me are less about cost (should be reasonable though) and more about trust and clear communication. I highly recommend them.

It's been three orders bought and shipped for me in the past one month and these have been handled with professional precision with promptly updates on the status of my orders. I've never been worried about any of the steps because the customer care is amazingly responsive.
I only wish Savo store would ship from the UK too, it would be so great.

Savo Store is the best way to buy items online and...

Savo Store is the best way to buy items online and get them shipped from Abroad to Kenya. And here is why I chose them after many of my friends recommended it.

Reasons:

1. I have to admit I was impressed with the communication, there customer care was quick and you'd receive tracking email updates on your product every step of the way(very important)

2. There time delivery was on point, I thought it would take a month to get my products but products came early exactly after 2 weeks of shipping

3. It was hassle free picking up the product and everything in the package was as ordered. They check your id and everything and within 5 minutes I was done.

Would I do it all over again, Yes I would!!

Great Customer Service!!! Highly commended!!
I've been using both the Buy & Ship as well as the Ship Only service since 2016 (I had to check my account.) Occasionally, there have been delays in delivery due to factors like weather, flights, new KRA requirements etc, but each time there has been communication from Savostore and constant updates.
Once, an item I paid for using the Buy & Ship was no longer available and Savostore sent me a refund within 2 days and even confirmed with me whether I had received the money.
Just two weeks ago, I used the Ship Only service and to my surprise Savostore wrote to me saying they had found an extra item in my package. We agreed they mail back the extra item to the store I had bought from online and within a week the store confirmed to me they had received the item.
So after two years of using Savostore service I can say without any reservation that I am truly impressed by their diligence , integrity and great customer service.

I regularly use Savostore to ship my items from USA to Kenya and I've never been so happy with shipping services. I used Kwaraha before and they were just too expensive and too rude Savostores customer care is the best! Janice from USA is extremely helpful and replies to your email in less than 10 minutes. They consolidate the goods so carefully and thoughtfully. I'm extremely happy with their services! Keep it up Savostore! Waiting on UK shipping soon!

I have used Savo store a couple of times before and the service was okay though shipping sometimes may take 1 month. Unfortunately this year, my experience has been terrible. I have had my shipments in their USA warehouse as from April and no update have been given if they have been shipped or just a mere response to my emails which haven t been responded for 2 weeks now even after kind followup. Not sure what s happening as even shipping rules are changing with each passing day!

I did receive my package several days late.... But, I'm greatly DISPLEASED and APPALLED by the way they deliberately repackaged my stuff in an unnecessary bigger box so as to increase the volumentric weight and charge me more; instead of using it's actual weight. My package was barely a kg!!! I felt exploited...fleeced!!! I know you will respond by saying you charge whichever is higher between weight and volume; but DON'T repackaged to increase the volume!!!

I even requested for a discount because of late delivery to at least recover but I got nothing!!!
I was dealing with them for the first time and I had high hopes which they have directed them down the drain...

Years of shipping with them since 2018. Once in a while they do something that has me running red with anger, however, most of the time they always deliver which is what matters. I would like to shine a light to Sidney (the founder), Anthony, William and Nathan; they always got my back....oh and I cannot forget Ms. Jacqueline from the USA office, she was a rock when it came to keeping clients updated on their purchases...Looking forward to many more years of working with Savostore.

Thier estimated delivery dates are too optimistic at least from a personal point of view. 7-14 business days for me ended up being 2 and a half months (70 days to be specific) from the order date to the time I actually received my order. That notwithstanding, they did deliver my order in good condition and their customer service is satisfactory. This is why I give them 3-star and not 4 or 5 on the upper side or 1 and 2 on the lower side.

I've been using Savostore for some years now and have recommended them to a number of people. Their online interface is good and allows one to keep track of shipments. Their communication is also great - when you ask questions, you can expect a response sometimes within minutes. They also keep you updated on the status of your shipment. My last shipment around the 2019 Christmas period arrived earlier than they'd said it would, which was awesome! Keep improving on the shipping times

I'd love it even more if they (re)introduced sea shipping to make it easier to get bulkier stuff. And when they do, make it easy to predict the shipping fees before we actually ship things to the warehouse.

Been shipping with Savo Store since their inception methinks! Great service if a bit pricey. When goods arrive here in KE they're dispatched quickly and even with let downs by G4S and/or Wells Fargo they do get to me within a few days. I'd like to see a sea freight service so we can bring in larger/heavier items at a more effective cost+freight basis. Very happy with the service Savo Store provides and will certainly be staying with them for a while if if they keep this up.

Very professional. Quick with feedback, good customer care, even their website is user friendly. Delivery times range from 7 to 15 business days but very often its below the 15 day mark. Any delays are promptly communicated. I highly recomend.

For the last 3 years I have regularly used Savostore to ship personal items to my family and friends in Kenya and I can truly say that they are just about the most professional shippers I have dealt with. They are very responsive and proactively keep us updated on and delays or exceptions being experienced. For the most part all deliveries are on time. Their customer service is exceptional. I will continue referring all my friends and family to them. You are a great team and an example of how businesses should be run.

4 years later, I am glad to report that their Customer Service is still first class (my thanks to the Kenya team and Jacqueline Ortiz in the U.S ).

Have used them for multiple orders now. Have to say that I am impressed at the simplicity of the site and order process. For one order, I was able to get a full refund for a part that wasn't working at no extra charge.

They have also been accommodating around last minute changes and other specialized requests. Quick to respond too. So far, great experience. Keep it up!

An honest review - this is my first time using Sav...

An honest review - this is my first time using Savostore and admittedly it may be a very busy time for the company as well. On 4 May 2020 they sent out an email updating their terms of service due to COVID 19 stating:

We continue to use cargo flights to deliver your goods in Kenya. We have a shipment departing every week on Wednesday as usual. We have so far been successful at delivering your goods within the promised timeline of 7 to 15 business after departure from our US warehouse. We do not anticipate any delays, but if any do occur you can be assured that we will inform you promptly.

I proceeded to order several packages with Savostore hoping that in the worst-case scenario they would at least contact me informing me of any delays. On the Savostore portal they let you indicate the dates which you wish to have your items shipped (a feature which they have revoked for the time-being). assuming they arrive at their US warehouse on time. The first package I ordered was shipped out on 13 May 2020 - still has not arrived in Kenya. I had to follow up on the matter without anyone informing me of any delays. When I called their Nairobi office (twice due to misinformation or let s say lying - you choose), all they could tell me is that my package will arrive tomorrow and it hasn t. I ordered another package on 20 May 2020 which should have arrived on 10 June 2020 and of course (without prompt) I have not received information about the delay.

From my experience, they only check their email when you call them and remind them to do so. If you have any pressing issues, questions and concerns best to call them directly rather than remind them to refresh their inbox.

I selected a shipment protection option for one of the packages that I unfailingly needed to arrive in Kenya safely and without ANY damage. Upon receiving the invoice AFTER they shipped the item to Kenya, I realised that they FORGOT to apply the shipment protection to that package. Really no excuses for such a mistake - solely based on human error.

Yes Savostore claims to have you track your packages etc but that s just a ploy and not the entire truth of it. They have incorporated a tedious and time-consuming process that really only allows them to let you know that they have received your package. But of course, with tracking info from the seller you can see this information immediately and directly. Most online stores confirm shipping and delivery status to your email address.

Savostore did state in an email that they are completely backlogged at the US warehouse right now and are yet to ship 3 more of my packages that have all arrived at their warehouse. I believe they are about 1 or 2 weeks behind schedule at the moment. I understand that regular business procedures and timelines have changed but that s no reason to advertise false promises to customers and consumers. My expectation is far greater than the experience and that is not what you look for in a service.

I have however been using Kentex Cargo during this period as well. They are a lot more hassle-free. More expensive and slightly more efficient. I ve received packages within 4 weeks of them arriving at the US warehouse (on 2 separate occasions) and have had no additional issues thus far. Safe to say, I probably will not be using Savostore again and here s to hoping my packages eventually arrive. #StaySafe

EDIT: Kentex are also trash right now.

I don't plan to use the service again as it took too long for me to get my order. Certainly not their fault because they cited customs challenges but, still, having had to trek twice from Kampala, I ended up spending more (in time and money) to get my stuff. No thank you.

I called with instructions but it appears the person I spoke to and the person who was processing my quote were two different people and the information was never passed along, making the experience quite frustrating. This is not the first time. A week before I asked a question on shipping a product and after a few days I had to call and have them sift through their emails to find mine and wait a further few hours by which time the product I was interested in was no longer available.

Horrible experience with Savo Store. We ordered our items in August and we still have not received all our items. They have not communicated with us about any of our items and how long it was taking. I ve had to call them every time to check on the order. They originally quoted us for 15$ but it s cost us total of 50$ so far. Would NOT recommend them to anyone.

You have always been of great service especially in the gift giving season. Packages are always well packaged (it was the best way I could say it). Additionally, they send regular communication on updates on operations, prices and any ad hoc news. You might not always like it but what is most important is that they're always informing you.

Savo Store came highly recommended and they delivered!

I wanted to buy the Acer Helios 300 from the states and didn't want to handle the usual stress.

A friend (Don Okumu) who buys from Amazon insisted on Savo Store. I decided to try them out.

They charge $15/per kg. Very affordable compared to the rest.

Their customer service is on point. Even though I was in panic mode since it was my first time buying from outside Kenya, they kept assuring me of the delivery date.

The estimated delivery time was May 6th 2020, it was delivered today!!! I can't describe how happy I was when I saw their email.

Their office is well managed with Covid-19 measures set in place. Only 3 customers allowed in at a time and they do insist on using the hand sanitizers. I was reminded twice .

I was allowed to test the laptop, checked the specs and everything was in order.

I highly recommend them and will definitely use them again.
