First time at a Sandals resort. The rooms, food and beverage were all outstanding, at Royal Bahama Resort Very accomadating pool swim up bars. The sunset dinner at Gordons on the pier was memorable. I had high expectiatons and the resort far exceeded my expectations. Will definitely go back

Food was actually really good. Room was fine. The weather wasn't great, but you can't hold the resort responsible for that. However, what really killed the trip for us was the fact that time after time the employees acted like I was annoying or irritating them when I'd ask for anything. My wife actually got to where she didn't even want to order a cocktail because of the eye rolls and irritation displayed back to us.

One specific example was when we had booked an excursion. The day before, the excursion was cancelled. We weren't contacted till about 30 minutes before we should have met to depart. When we were told it was cancelled and we asked if there was anything else departing today that we could do instead the girl literally just rolled her eyes and pointed at the list of trips on a chalkboard on the wall.

It was really disappointing but at least we have one less resort company to consider when we go to book our next vacation.

My wife and I have been to the Bahamas before, and we decided to give Sandals a try because we enjoy diving. Overall great all inclusive adult resort. My wife and I absolutely loved the scuba diving. We were able to do two tank dives almost every day we were there. Friendly and helpful staff. The new year's eve festivities were also fun.

Awesome experience. Was treated like royalty. Will be going again and again. The off shore island is fantastic and is perfect for Snorkeling or just laying on the beach. All the entertainment and food get 10 stars from us. From Management to the ground keepers everyone was very pleasant and accommodating.

This place was fantastic. Can t wait to go back and really have no complaints. The only thing I would change is I probably would not do the butler service again. Only reason is because all the rest of the staff is so friendly and readily available that we hardly used our butlers. They were extremely friendly though.

An amazing all inclusive adults only resort. They have water activities like snorkelling, sailing, water bikes, paddle boarding also as all inclusive. The restaurants and bars serve very good and hygienic food, and there is always some restaurant that is open 24x7.. also, their private island is a real beauty - it is so serene and clean. They have an in-house resort shop, which has good stuff to shop, though it is a little expensive. Also, their spa is decent. Their rooms are very well furnished and maintained. Overall, sandals is a very good value for money and is sure to give you memories that last a life time. Definitely a very good option for Honeymooners.

My husband and I stayed at the Royal Bahamian for 6 nights and stayed in a club level room in windsor tower. Full disclaimer: This was our first Sandals experience. We had an amazing, stress free vacation and couldn't have been happier with the location, the resort and the staff. The property was gorgeous, the room and facilities were clean and the water was crystal clear. The beach on the resort is pretty small but wasn't super crowded when we were there. One side does have a lot of seaweed (which is raked daily) but the water was still beautiful. The private island (it's really half of an island) is really special and worth spending a couple days on. We went snorkeling on the far side of the island and saw lots of fish and a turtle by the rocks. Bring your own snorkel gear if you want to do this! Be sure to get on the first ferry boat over and line up at 9:15 for the 10am ferry. Also, if you want better beach chairs, get up early and reserve your spot with some towels or clothes. I got up around 7am most days to get loungers on the beach under an umbrella. The butlers do tend to snatch a lot of seats up for their guests. The towels do run out fast, so if you plan on getting in the hot tub at night, save an extra towel for yourself. Also, you must eat at Gordon's on the Pier! Line up at 5:15 for the first seating though!

The service here was excellent! We ordered room service several times and it always arrived within an hour. Our minibar was stocked daily and we were offered turn down service every night and our room was cleaned daily. Most of the staff we encountered were helpful, responsive, respectful, friendly and polite. We read some bad reviews about the service here, but that was not our experience at all.

I would like to thank a couple people that really made our stay great. Dwayne in water sports taught me how to sail and went above and beyond and took a group of us on the sailboat, even though he didn't have to. It was really a treat!
I have Celiac disease and have to eat a strict gluten free diet. Philip, our server at Gordon's on the Pier was super helpful and a delight. Paul at Bella Napoli made me the best gluten free pizzas. Aaliyah, the culinary concierge and Eddie the head chef both met with me upon my arrival and made sure that I would be taken care of. I always had plenty of delicious options, including desserts entrees etc at each restaurant that I could eat. The staff at Casanova's and the Crystal room were especially helpful, especially Rochelle! Crystal at Spices made me some delicious gluten free french toast, and Ziska at Casanova made me amazing gluten free pancakes twice! These chefs have a busy morning but they both took time to make something extra special. Javan and her playmakers did a great job with the entertainment too. Jamal, Ian and Dylano also did a great job serving us at Casanova and Baccarat. We would definitely come back to this resort and highly recommend it! The staff, beach, grounds and buildings were all lovely and the food was delicious! Thank you sandals royal bahamian for a great vacation!

If you are looking for the paradise on earth, please go ahead and book a stay over here!
The resort is fabulous, everything is thought to make us happy and relaxed. We spent our honeymoon there and we chose the concierge option where you can order food and drinks directly in your room. The room was beautiful, very spacious with a nice bedding.
There are 2 pools, one party pool and one hangover pool. I really enjoyed the foam pool party organized, I wish it was the whole afternoon and we could have another party during the week. The entertainment team was great and fun, we did some water sports - I wish the jet ski would be included in the activities but otherwise it was fantastic. The private island is just wonderful but we enjoyed our time directly at the resort because there are more things to do over there.
The gym is great, the hotel is generally very clean as well as the rooms, people are really nice and provide a top service. The only negative point is the food - it's average - I didn't have one tasty desert and generally it wasn't worth a 5 stars hotel but drinks - cocktails and all the rest was so amazing that it wasn't a big deal.
I highly recommend this resort - fabulous experience!

For the money do not spend it here. Sandals Supervisor are not organized. Bar service is very slow and understaffed. Liquor is not top self. Food is not worth the money. People are great and over worked. Not being able to tip them for great service shows on the service and some attitude. The only saving grace to this most expensive all inclusive stay was there private island. We were the first of the boat and always got the best place to sit. In one of my pictures you see a railing over looking the pool rusted into. This is only one of many things over looked and just dangerous to the visitors. This resort would be great if my wife and I only payed 3000 dollars including air fare. However we payed closer to 5000. We made it a great vacation. Sandals we will never spend another dollar with you and I hope anyone reading this doesn't over pay like we did.

Went here for our honeymoon. If you want to drink anything you can think of the whole time, this is the place. Expected more sea food/fruit/Bahamian food, but instead it's food from about every culture with a pretty limited menu at each. After a few times eating, you realize why you need to order an appetizer, a meal and a desert to get a full meal. Most food I could find in the town I live in if I wanted it. We tried just about every restraunt and room service.

There is a piano bar going on most nights and some entertainment outside or in the theater that is worth experiencing. If you want to check out the other island or restraunt over there, be sure to get to the boat dock early as it can only hold so many ppl and makes the trip every hr. There are some sea turtles around the island if you pay attention and get lucky. Snorkeling uses the same boat, so don't expect to snorkel for very long and they can't travel very far to avoid much for rough water.

Massages and most other things are fairly expensive add ons in my opinion. We had the most fun booking a snuba trip with an off resort place. Takes a bit to get use to, but a lot of fun without any training. I would highly suggest taking a day to snorkel first, to get use to breathing under water before snuba. My wife didn't like the weights, so the instructor with us allowed her to take them off and swim on top of the water. Because we were the only ones signed up for snuba we got to go out with the snorklers and snuba, snorkel and feed the sharks.

Lastly we did go off resort to a small "straw market" just down the road. Everyone was very nice and we found a few things to bring home and a place that made fruit smoothies.

Overall it's a nice resort, but for the money I expected more/different food, cheaper add ons and more things to experience thru the resort. $150 for a massage that I can get in the states for $50 is a bit hard to splurge on. Always felt safe on the resort and off the resort even if they drive quite fast and honk their horns a lot.

Staff took pride in their duties and did an excellent job. They were very friendly. The food was good and the resort was top notch. We stayed in a butler suite and CJ and Anthony were phenomenal. We will definitely return.

First time staying at a Sandals resort and it was mostly spectacular. Awesome food, service, and amenities. I subtract a star because of the staff's adherence to their own policies. The resort claims to have a "No Smoking" policy and has multiple designated smoking areas. Multiple times I witnessed other guests smoking outside of these areas including at the bar right in front of the staff. When I questioned the bartender about smoking areas he (Daron) said "you can smoke anywhere you want, this is paradise." The other policy they didn't adhere to is the dress code at some of the restaurants. Twice we witnessed guys in shorts, flip flops, and t-shirts dining at restaurants that required "resort evening attire" which consists of slacks, button down dress shirt, and shoes. Finally, my last frustration was with the key cards to our room, they only worked 60% off the time and we were constantly getting them reprogrammed and I made sure they were never near an electronic or magnetic device that would ruin the key. Aside from that, the resort was fantastic and I'd stay at a Sandals again.

We had butler service and only one was on the JOB with calling to check on us but apparently with butler service they should help unpack and repack your luggage, reserve meals, reserve beach chairs, place coolers with drinks NEVER ONCE WAS THIS OFFERED! Our room was nice but I found a toe nail still on the makeup bench and hair in the tub. The wait staff in all the Buffett NEVER smiled nor went out of their way to accommodate your request for extra coffee or sugar. All in all it was a good visit because we had a very large group but the size of the hotel should have been able to make each of us happy! Out of the 200+ people, each had our own complaints about the staff. The resort itself is beautiful but the staff needs help!

Rooms, food, beaches, & overall facilities were wonderful. We were disappointed with the service quite often though. The beers in our mini bar were never replaced the entire trip when they were supposed to be daily. We only got 2 washcloths for almost the entire 5 day stay even after calling the front desk and letting our maid know in person. Finally got replacements on the last day of our trip. Food service was very slow several times as well, even when restaurants were not busy. The staff all had amazing attitudes but some were more interested in chatting with coworkers than keeping up with the tables. Most bartenders were great but one or two seemed annoyed we were even standing there. Everyone has a bad day sometimes though. I would recommend this resort to friends but compared to other places we've visited and stayed it is an average experience compared to the cost.

Smoker Friendly! My wife and I loved our stay here. We chose the butler upgrade. The service was EXCELLENT!
All of the staff were warm and welcoming. Room service never failed to deliver

If you still enjoy a cigarette with a drink this place will accommodate you. No inside smoking however we did smoke on our room balcony with no issues. We did not have to huddle outside like a bunch of second class citizens who only wanted to enjoy a smoke. There are plenty of super clean outdoor smoking areas with plenty of ashtrays. We found no smoke nazis at this resort. There was space, comfort and consideration for all. Nothing like today's cruise ships.

The Sandal restaurants were excellent. A great deal of choices from casual to fine dining. All of our meals were delicious. If you get a chance catch a bus and take a day trip to the Fish Fry market. The food there is local, simple and delicious. It's about 20-30 minutes by bus from the resort. Some of the locals may seem different or even a little eccentric but they all treated my wife and I as welcomed guest in their country.

The water was out of this world. Clean, refreshing and beautiful.

We will return

A great luxury break at a well appointed hotel.

A great luxury break at a well appointed hotel.
Overall we experienced excellent service from all staff with a couple of exceptions, those being from staff in the Bacarrat restaurant, which is the French Cuisine restaurant. Here service was slow and we were ignored for quite some time when we arrived. Snooty staff in there! We had a long wait for our food even after our order was eventually taken.
Also this is a poorly chosen venue for breakfast due to the large windows that make up the East facing wall. The rising sun shines in through those windows making the seats next to the unusable due to the heat, rendering half the tables unusable - everyone wants to sit at the other row of tables!
Staff and service everywhere else was great!

Very good pools and bars. Club level rooms are great - spacious and clean, and the bathrooms lovely. The island is good, but note that the restaurant there closes at 3pm - caught us out, and there's nowhere else to eat until you get the boat back at 4.

The only other criticism is that when the weather is not good, there is little in the way of alternative entertainment or activities. I know the weather is not under the hotel's control, but there should be more to do when the pools and island are unusable.

We ,I'm 46 my wife 39, spent honeymoon here Aug.6-11. Nice welcome for sandals guests at airport, 15 minutes to resort shuttle. In Balmoral room, very comfy, spacious & quite.
We loved it. I did have the virus a day but these things happen, they tried their hardest to address it. The resort was beautiful, grounds impeccable. Private island great! Beach very nice , white sand ,clear water , but on the small side. Didn't get to all the restaurants but loved the ones we tried, the French was our favorite for both breakfast and dinner. The service at the restaurants was very good, they really will not accept tips , we made sure to write a good review on their private site ' blaze ' . The only thing was the service thru the front desk when calling from our room, we asked for a few things and never got them ,like wine bottles, water bottles , even when a manager gave us a courtesy call and asked if there was anything they can get us, we didn't get it anyways, I thought being on our honeymoon ,being sick , we'd maybe get a little extra attention, & especially paying what we paid.
Entertainment very good, drinks excellent. Pools great , one was more for partying while the other was more quite. If your not an early riser ...it could be challenging to find chairs by the pool. Would we go back ? Maybe , only because we would like to try other Sandals .

Our stay was a great time. We were treated with respect and the staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were all happy. Lots of activities and things to do. The island was fun although the bugs could sometimes be a pain. Only getting 4 stars due to the price and bugs around the island. Other than that, we had a great time and loved our stay.

Terrible service.

Terrible service.

So my wife and I are currently staying here, celebrating our honeymoon. To start, our rooms where not ready at check in, which I guess happens, but it s just been one thing after another since then. Just to give credit where it s due, the food, pools, and rooms are great. The beaches are pristine, but the lack of enough umbrellas to block the sun is absolutely ridiculous. I ll get to that later though...

To start, the staff, especially the bartenders at the swim up pools, are slow and give off the impression that they don t give a damn about their jobs. Expect long waits for drinks. I honestly waited 30 minutes to be served the first time. They seemed to be more interested in chatting with each other than serving guests. I tried to get the attention of a bartender who was cutting limes, and he dismissed me telling me you re going to have to wait, buddy . I would assume that a customer would get priority over prep work, but not here.

The next day we decided to order pizza for lunch. There is an outdoor station for pizza that you could order from. The server took my order on a messy bit of paper and told me it would be done in a half hour. My wife came back a half hour later to pick it up, and they told her it would be an extra ten minutes. She comes back in ten minutes, and they tell her that they didn t even have our order. 55 minutes later we get our pizza. No apologies, just indifferent service. The pizza was delicious, but not worth all that hassle.

We were not going to complain, because we are on our honeymoon, and pretty happy in general right now, but when we were kicked out of our beach spot by a butler that was the straw that broke the camels back.

To start, there are not enough umbrellas for the amount of deck chairs on the beach. We decided to go go the beach at 8:30 am to get a spot. We saw some deck chairs that said reserved on them, but the ones we chose only had neatly folded towels on them and no reserved sign. We settled in with our books, ready to enjoy the beach when a butler told us she needed the chairs for higher class guest. Apparently the towels meant that they were saved, but we had no idea. They say first come, first served, but we were the only people on that part of the beach, and there was no one in the water.

We decided at that point to actually talk to a manager, who s name is Sandra, and the bar manager who s name I can t remember. They apologized, and told us they would try and make it up to us. We had a massage appointment to go to shortly after, and Sandra told us to find her after, and she would take care of us. She walked us to the beach and tried to find us a spot, but obviously they were all taken. She told us the resort was at full capacity, so we would need to get there early to get a spot. I would think a billion dollar resort chain could afford extra beach umbrellas for guest paying $1000 plus a day to use. I sarcastically asked if we should get there at 5 or 6am. She told me 7am would be good probably. Absolutely ridiculous.

I guess full capacity means not all guest get good service at Sandals. I hate complaining, and I m pretty sure this is the first review I ve written on here. I just think for the money we spent, it was not worth it.

Save your money on this place! This place is dated and the service really wasnt great. We paid for a ocean front view and we ended up looking at good tops. We asked to be put in another room and they told us no, they were full. For the amount of money we paid for this trip they should have made thungs right. Sandals needs to update this place and for the cost of the trip it shouldnt be any problem.. Very dissappointed and if you ask me stay somewhere else because you will be dissapointed too!!!

Awesome resort. 3rd visit. Only reason I didn't rate 5 star is because our sink was plugged for last 3 days and they couldn't seem to fix it. SSLLOOOWWWLLLYY drained yuck. Otherwise highly recommend this resort.

The private island is so much fun! We come to snorkel and relax from the first shuttle boat until the 2:50 run back to the property. The water is cooler in May than in June, so you have to acclimate to it. Once you do, you are HOOKED!

This is our second visit and we were very disappointed this place has really gone down hill and they are very under staffed. For example, we were at the pool for 3 hours and nobody came by to ask us if were needed a drink
It looked like each pool had one person serving drinks. In one of the restaurants our meal took one hour to come out, our waitress disappeared for 20 minutes, we had to ask another staff member to find her. I could go on for a hour. On the plus side the food was very good.

Arrived at 2pm. Hit the Italian buffet, it only had 3 dishes- rice, fish, chicken. So much for a buffet.. ok, cool. drinks? Took another 30 mins to get the waiter to bring water an put drink orders in...ok cool. Go to the room, older and a little musty. Fine. The curtains can t even close all the way and the beds are lumpy. On the beach it s first come first serve. You have about 100 chairs and 10 umbrellas. Fair? I think not. at night everything closes at 930 and you can t even find a coffee bar anywhere. Over all the experience here is not worth the money or name. I m sorry, I went with sandals for the name and thought the experience would be next to none. I was wrong. This sandals caters to a crowd that goes to bed at 9pm.

Stopped here with a day pass while on a cruise ship. We reflected back in this saying we probably should have just come here for the long weekend rather than going on the cruise; it was pretty great. Staff were pleasant, drinks and food good, and seemed like there was plenty to do between Nassau and the private island the resort.

FYI for those cruising and attempting to get a day pass: go early, call ahead, and bring your passport. It was about $125 per person in March 2018 but I felt like it was well worth it in food/drinks/beach/staff waiting on you.

This is an ok resort. If you want to just sit on the beach or by one of the pools, drink cheap watered down drinks and eat ok food, this is the place. If you are a foodie, like wine or well made cocktails, or want to experience more than the beach, go somewhere else. Be warned, if you are looking at the website they use pictures from all the resorts, not just this one, and half the activities they say are included are not available.

Terrible experience. Because of weather, our flight was delayed and we didn t arrive until 1 day late. Even though we called to let them know so our room would be ready after 24 hours of traveling, we still had to wait THREE whole hours to get into our room once we arrived. I will never go to a Sandals resort again. Also, no conch salad.

My wife and I came to The Sandles Resort in Nassau Bahamas for one week for our fourth anniversary and had an absolutely amazing time! Rawle gave us our introductory tour of the resort and was extremely friendly and made us feel right at home, even the rest of the trip every time we saw him he was in extremely friendly and helpful. LaShan was our room concierge and each night made these wonderful displays and decorations on our bed for our turn down service, we thought that was amazing!

Little did we know this trip was going to become a dive trip experience. Sonny was our dive instructor and actually helped us get certified during our week. He took us through two pool training sessions and two diving/training sessions in the ocean. He was extremely kind and patient with us fresh squeezed lemon LOL. He made us feel very comfortable diving even when both of us freaked out several times. I never could ve imagined a better dive instructor. Sonny and Wenzel also took some very incredible underwater pictures of us. Nelson Johnson and Damien were also extremely kind and friendly. All of the dive experts were extremely knowledgeable, incredible divers, and very warm and friendly making us feel like family!

It was extremely sad when it was time to leave but I believe we ve made some lifelong friends! And if it is possible we will absolutely come back and recommend to our friends! My uncle is already making plans to come here with his wife after seeing the diving pics on Facebook.

Treated like royals in luxurious surroundings. We were transported to the resort in a shiny Rolls Royce. Stayed in the Windsor one bedroom suite. Our Butler and supporting staff anticipated our desires even before we did! They obviously made mental notes of our likes/dislikes and bent over backwards to ensure that we had a wonderful stay.
A lot of activities, great food, entertainment, shopping, night life, music and the best diving!

The Good

The Good

The beach is beautiful and the offshore island is even better (getting there could be tricky depending of the weather). As destination for a wedding or group travel the place could be appropriate. If you want to drink until you drop, this is also the place. The staff is well-mannered and respectful, although the quality of service is sometimes questionable. If you have butler service, you get a nice ride on a Roll Royce.

The Bad

The resort is not even near a 5 star category they claim to be. The most consistent thing here is the inconsistency. The experience is almost identical to a cruise, at a much higher price tag, including, but not limited to, average food and for the most part, lame activities and entertainment.

The Ugly

The place is wearing down so don't be surprised to find areas close for renovation or things broken in your room (our AC was broken and they had to change us to another room). The spa is a total tourist trap and the "therapists" have no idea what their doing. The butler service is a joke, is more like a "go-and-sometimes-get-it" service, the room that comes with the service is nice thought.

Other guests told us that other locations are better but I am sure we want to venture again.

I enjoyed my stay here even though it was for a short period of time. The staff was very friendly, the food was great as well as the experience. I went on the Wedding Test Drive and I recommend everyone to try it if you're considering getting married at Sandals.

My wife and I stayed her in a butler suite. The butler service was sub par and almost embarrassing. We might as well have done it without. We talked to management about it and they were going to address it... but the management was just as embarrassing as the butler staff. There was broken items all over our room that didn t work, the room service does not know how to listen to orders and very rarely did you see staff smiling. We ve done other sandals butler suites in the past and I would NEVER recommend coming to the Bahamas Royal Bahamian.

My wife and I went as a last minute trip and immediately felt as if the staff was simply lazy and never got anything done quickly. Most disappointing was booking a day excursion on another island only to find out early in the morning day of it was cancelled the previous day with no notification. I had to ask for the reimbursement for this too. We will not return to this or any other Sandals. Food was good but boring after a couple days, a few of the staff were good, but the overwhelming majority seemed bothered to help. It seemed like empty plates and glasses were everywhere by pools, hallways and emergency stairwells. One night the servers removed our napkins from our laps before we had finished eating, anxious for us to leave when a dozen other people were still eating. We have been to the bahamas a few times and will definitely return to other resorts but wouldn t suggest this one at any price. Skip Bahamas Sandals especially if you re not going to drink alcohol all day. Otherwise it may feel worth it.

Beautiful Resort - Great Service

Beautiful Resort - Great Service
This resort is updated and beautiful with good service and food. We had the swim up room with the butler service which I highly recommend. We had a private driver to and from the airport because of the room type we booked. The ride is a quick 15 minutes from the airport.
DeAngelo and Rohan were our butlers and they were able to make every request happen when we wanted it to happen. It was my 50th BDay and they decorated the room and made my day very special.
The swim up pool was warm and we used it every day because the main pools were both cold. The butlers would bring us drinks and food whenever we needed anything. You have a cell phone and you can call them whenever you need something.
The rooms are up-to-date and kept very clean. They fill the fridge daily and they keep the bar full of liquor.
The beds were a bit stiff but they brought in a mattress pad and it was perfect. They also have feather pillows and the foam so both my husband and I were happy.
The toiletries were amazing, I especially loved the lotion.
We did the couples massage and it was very nice.
The grounds are beautifully manicured and its well lit for evening walks after dinner. They have plenty of spaces to hang out with others or to hang out by yourself. The beaches are clean and there are plenty of places to lounge either in the sun or under a cabana. They have several towel stations set up all over the resort.
The only negative things I encountered were getting the bags to the rooms and back to the lobby for departure. Both took over 45 minutes.
My favorite restaurant was the French and my husbands was the Italian. Gordon's on the pier was good too. Every place we ate had great food. They also had some good US Domestic wines. You had to pay extra for them but at least they had some good wines to choose from.
The entire staff is very friendly. I would go back for sure but go when its a bit warmer.

Don t waste your time or money here. Especially on the butler service. 1 of our three butlers, Leon, was excellent. The other two, we never met. With butler service, they re supposed to cater to your every whim. Who wouldn t want that for vacation? With the butler service you re supposed to have the upper hand with getting into restaurants and etc, Leon, bless his heart, did everything right and went above and beyond to get us everything we asked or wanted to do, but once his shift was over it s like we didn t exist for the other two. For example, we asked our other butler, shakira, to have ice brought to our room by six every night so we d have ice, NOT ONCE did this happen. We called her to see if we could get coconut rum brought to the room and added to the mini bar. Her response: that s a special request to do that. SERIOUSLY! Is that not what I m doing right now on the phone with you, Requesting you bring us some? Same with toothpaste. We forgot to bring some and called to see if we could get some and was told they sold it at the gift shop. COME ON. And we never got reservations at the restaurants we requested if we asked the other two butlers. We finally got so sick of watching other customers get in to restaurants before us with their butlers when we had a reservation but was asked to sit and wait we finally went and complained to management. All they really did was say sorry. Nothing was done to rectify it. Expectations were not met. Money not well spent. Will not be back. Go literally anywhere else!

Giving 3 stars because it is still sandals, and the facilities and amenities are amazing. Not giving 5 stars because the food and drink servers have not displayed friendly service at all. Every time I order something they make me feel like I am inconveniencing them. When we visited Sandals South Coast in Jamaica the servers were friendly and fun, so we expected the same here.

I would like to start off by saying this was the worst experience I ve ever endured. First off when we arrived at the resort and entered our room we automatically noticed the sticky floors, dirty carpet, and a musty smell in the room. This is suppose to be a five star resort but it felt worse than a cheap motel. My husband called to let them know we do not drink alcohol therefore we didn t want it in our room before we even got there. There was plenty of alcohol and a champagne bottle in our room when we arrived after asking several times to please remove it. It took 2 days to finally get all the alcohol removed which is ridiculous. The food was absolutely atrocious!!! Everything was cold and bland like it came out of a box! There was no flavor no seasoning no salt NOTHING! Everything we had tasted old and cold. The portions were extremely small as well. The salt and pepper shakers at all of the restaurants didn t even have any salt or pepper in them and if they did you couldn t get it out. The waitresses weren t friendly at all and took 30 minutes to bring a coke. A couple of times we didn t even receive our drinks at Casanova. Most of the staff mainly the females need serious training in customer service and shouldn t be working at a resort. The price you pay is definitely not what you get in terms of food service pr experience. We had a candle lit dinner that we paid $200 for and it was a waste of money! The food again was nasty and cold; my salad consisted of half a Romain lettuce which was quite confusing. I wouldn t recommend this if you are planning the candle lit dinner. Not worth $200 it s the same thing you get at the restaurants. The lack of activities on the resort was very disappointing there was nothing to do besides sitting in the pool or the ocean. We had room service in our package and all of the food was cold bland and tasteless. It also took a good 45 minutes to get to your room which was also disappointing. The fridge was never restocked we ran out of water to drink and called many times but never had it stocked. The coffee is pretty nasty as well it wasn t even hot and instead of creamer they give you milk. The bedding was never changed and for being there for a full week they should ve changed them for us frequently. The commercials are very misleading and I would never go back nor would I ever recommend it to anyone. We stayed for an entire week and we couldn t wait to go back home! We were planning another trip with sandals to St Lucia in December but now we are reconsidering due to this horrific experience.

I m literally sitting in the resort as I type this. The restaurants claim no reservations are needed, or taken, but if you are a first time guest you are put at the back of the line. So far, we have waited 2 hours for a seat at one of the no reservation restaurants. When we arrived our room wasn t ready and we had to wait 4 hours to get it. When we did, our luggage took another hour to get there. The kicker was that we weren t even allowed to access our luggage while we were waiting, so we ended up sitting around half the day in jeans while at a resort in the Bahamas. The rooms are definitely dated, and a little dirty. The shower drips constantly, the toilet rocks on its base, and the carpet is frayed. The majority of the wait staff are rude. The good ones though are great. We did not get butler service because it didn t seem like it would be necessary. If you are a first time guest, you are a second citizen. I will never go to another sandals resort. I would pay double to go to another resort.

HIGH EXPECTATIONS FAILED

HIGH EXPECTATIONS FAILED
Started off with a nice short ride from the airport but all went downhill from there. Disorganized welcome.
Waited for the room almost three hours on checkin!
Can t use WiFi until you are checked in and have your room.
Got the room and apologies and told it s upgraded apparently, just didn t feel like it cause was told soap and shower caps are the extras along with a full bar in this upgraded room but WiFi wasn t working still and pillow missing on the bed. Looked unfinished. Had to call for pillow since no one brought it ASAP.
Nice bath robe flyer in bathroom but no bath robes - had to call.
Next morning discovered No hairdryer- had to call, still waiting after I was told I ll bring it right over *update, called again at 6pm was told it will be right there. It wasn t. Called again 10m later and got it finally on third try!
Asked for coffee during lunch, never got it.
Asked for yoghurt at bf, never got it.
Dinner and bf a la cart takes forever. Be prepared to wait for 40mins for your order.
Dirty glasses on outdoor patio don t get picked up for hours on end.
Found a single sub par Coffee machine at the entire resort.
Still a great beach and good size rooms but...
My advice to future travels. Think twice.

Had a great time here. Really enjoyed catching the 10am ferry over to the island and snagging a cabana to relax at all day. Several turtles hang out in the cove on the North side. Favorite place for breakfast was Baccarat. Really enjoyed their dinner as well but reservations for it filled up quick. Dinner on the pier at Gordon's was great as well. The wait can be about an hour so we got there about an hour and fifteen before sunset and had a perfect spot to watch the sunset over the water.

It's gorgeous, but sub-zero air conditioning in restaurants stifled your appetite. I also wanted to go to Jamaica but I'm not at all convinced. Then I include Vibo and free drinks but a 200 euro massage no! Prohibitive spa

This gets 2 stars because most of the employees were super nice, compared to Montego Bay, which deserves zero stars.

This was our 3rd Sandals vacation, even though we had such horrible service at Montego Bay that we swore we wouldn't return. But we figured it was just that resort and gave it another shot. I really wanted to have a good experience, because I planned on have my wedding at a Sandal Antigua. But I dont think that will be our plan now.

Anyway, the beach and water is beautiful as expected, but you won't see a sunrise or sunset because of the direction the resort is situated. I believe it faces north.

I decided to get a massage while my fiance watched a football game. $189 for a deep tissue massage, but I thought it was worth it because our Sandals app said we had $186 to use immediately. My appt was scheduled at the wrong time. No big deal. I went in for my massage, and the girl was okay. But as I go to pay, and plan on leaving a tip, I see that $189 is not the price. It's just to have the service. I also have to pay the therapist's commission (which she only gets $23) and theres also a 12% tax. Again, I wasnt overly concerned... until I found out that we weren't even allowed to use the credit that the app clearly stated.
The operations manager did offer us a $100 "goodwill" credit, but that doesnt compensated for the terrible service and missing things from our room.

We noticed that we were paying for a club level room, which includes full bottles of liquor, but we only had some wine and beer. We specifically asked the person helping us book if our particular room included room service, because we were charged at Mo-Bay for not being in the correct room category for room service.
Apparently, we only were allowed to order between 7am and 10pm. The whole reason we wanted the option for room service is so we could dine late at night. So we would go to bed hungry some nights, or go to the Cricketer and order the same thing because it was the only open place.

As for the restaurants, we did like Casanovas a lot. Their food was great.

We also enjoyed our time at Kimonos. Rahul was entertaining. But our reservations with the couple we came with were messed up, and when I tried to talk to the hostess, she cut me off mid sentence and acted like it was a giant hassle. They sat our friends at a full table and when I arrived, the waitress kept saying there was nothing they could do and that our friends just had to order.

Overall, I'm not sure this was worth the amount of money we spent. I would defintely consider other options for future vacations. Its disappointing because our first Sandals experience at Ochi was amazing.

Well I am honestly very disappointed with my experience. I went on a trip here for a week to celebrate my 10 year anniversary with my boyfriend. My cousin and his girlfriend accompanied us as well. I was nervous because it was my first vacation since transitioning to a vegan diet ,but I was informed over and over again by Sandals staff over the phone that I would be accommodated. I emailed the resort twice before my arrival to remind them of my dietary restrictions and met with the chef upon arrival as I was told to do so. The chef stated that he was not informed of any type of dietary restrictions I had and wasn't very helpful. He just said that when I make reservations with restaurants that he would be informed and I would be accommodated. Then I learned that only 2 out of 10 restaurants accepted reservations so that was not much help. The front desk told me that all I needed to do was tell the waiter/waitress of my restrictions and there would be a special menu for me. Let me just say the one good thing they did was that every waiter/waitress asked if anyone at the table had any dietary restrictions, BUT when I told them of my restrictions they did nothing about it. Almost every waiter/waitress looked at me with a strange look and continued to go on with taking everyone else's order. It was so bad that I was only served cucumbers, olives, and tomatoes in a balsamic sauce for my dinner at the restaurant Gordon's. I honestly felt as if I was a burden and it was extremely discouraging. The icing on the cake was that I scheduled and paid for a candlelight dinner on the beach with my boyfriend on our anniversary and when I walked down to the beach that night, the staff stated that they did not have our reservation. It was extremely upsetting and the hotel blamed us because they said a menu was sent to our room in the morning but it was not. We did not get to celebrate our anniversary and have yet to be refunded. Fortunately, the chef and waiter at the Baccarat was the first to accommodate me when I ate there and the dinner was delicious. The chef at Kimonos was extremely helpful. He came out before dinner about 3 times to ensure he was serving me foods I could eat and enjoy. Kimonos was delicious and that was my favorite meal. The other good part about the resort was the entertainment staff, they were very nice and amusing. Overall, this is my second stay with Sandals and I am displeased. They made me feel very uncomfortable and ruined my anniversary. I would not recommend this resort especially if you have dietary restrictions.

Loved it! Absolutely amazing! Butler service was awesome and they treat you like royalty. Stayed there 10 days and honestly didn't want to leave. They took care of all our dinner arrangements, tours, and set up everything for our birthdays and engagement party.

Gorgeous resort. Very good pool options, with one quiet relaxing pool and one party pool with music playing and activities all day long. The food was amazing , better than the other sandals we had been to. The breakfast at baccarat was Amazing with great service and delicious food, with my favourite being the crunchy banana French toast. The dinners were all great too. The antipasti at Casanova was delicious and a great way to start the meal. Kimono, the Japanese restaurant was a lot of fun. All in all, great resort with lots to do and good food and service.
