The service; food and spirits we're excellent! The atmosphere was beautiful and wonderful. 4 out of 5 . Would have made it. Solid 5 BUT the facility needs to improve there utilities. Power outages and hot water pressure was an issue.

Excellent: restaurants, pool, beach umbrellas, food, public facilities, Good: room, personnel s Poor: pool pergola places always reserved even if not used, beach with a lot of plastic debris. You must have a Butler to have good services
Excellent service! We were escorted to the resort by Taxi 20 (Zelma), she is an absolute doll! All servers were polite and very attentive. "Storm" at the pool bar was especially fun! The beach villa is remarkable (9106 to be exact). No disturbances, very clean and spacious. The Jerk Shack, to die for; everyone should try their snapper. Overall, we had an amazing time and plan to have our wedding there later this year. Can't wait!!!
Feb 11-Feb 19, 2018: The resort itself is absolutely beautiful with turquoise water in the bay, white beach sands and very well maintaned grounds.... THAT is what earns 5 Stars! From there I have not been overly impressed. To start with DON T fly Bahamasair, apparently it is common place for them to leave luggage behind - we arrived on a Sunday evening after traveling all day from Minnesota, my luggage was left (intentionally in Nassau because of weight restrictions on the plane) and all I had with me was sweatpants, a tee shirt and sweatshirt (in 78 degree temps); everyone at the resort I have spoken with have told me this is a common practice for Bahamasair - Sandals, this would have been nice to know! I will say, The management was awesome and collected our bags and delivered them to our rooms... they were very attentive to this issue!
The service is either excellent or, well, I hope you are patient and prepared for your request to be wrong and very slow w to be fulfilled (this is beyond island time or vacation time I mean they forgot about you or lost your order) However, we have had some superb service that was above and beyond luxury- but it is hit or miss.
Relaxation - the beach is fantastic and the quiet pool is great - beyond that, sitting on my balcony each morning, listening to the ocean waves and birds chirping be prepared for your serenity to the rn to frustrating when the sidewalk sweeper goes through at 8am and then a grounds worker goes through at 9am with a backpack blower reving it up and down for 40 minutes...cleaning the sidewalk again... THIS is daily and I could set my watch by it... really, this couldn t wait to 11am or the afternoon.
My wife and I came for our honeymoon and looking for relaxation and peace, I understand that the work needs to be done, but enjoying breakfast on our balcony and listening to all the power tools is not exactly peaceful!
Food- okay we have had some GREAT food, but plan on making reservations to the 3 restaurants or getting to the Italian restaurant early, the smaller dinners were ok at best - for a luxury resort and the amount of money you pay, I would expect much better food.
Booze: if you like to drink... the party is here, bottomless refills as strong as you want! But you are limited to what they carry for beer and spirits, so if you aren t picky, bring your favorite 30 oz. travel mug.
One thing I do enjoy is the quiet pool, typically a more mature crowd, no music, no blender and close enough to the ocean to hear the waves - if you want to party then the main pool is for you... music playing from 10am to 5pm and it is a party there with swim up bar and bar stools in the water- a bit much for me and the music can be heard for 1/4 mile down the beach (which is annoying to me trying to chill with my reggae) - but there is an option
Overall, for the money we spent on this vacation/ honeymoon, the view, the ocean, the temperatures and the friendliness of the staff were very enjoyable, but the service, quality of food and disrupted peace of the environment AND the lack of planning information (Bahamasair losing bags) I would not spend this kind of money again! And as I complete this review, it is 8:50am, here comes the sidewalk sweeper(street sweeper) and the motorized backpack blower...ugggh
A day later... the frustration continues and I have downgraded this resort to 2 stars. We reported our tv not working last night as we just wanted to lay low and enjoy a movie, after over an hour we received no call free m maintenance regarding the problem so we went to bed. Today returning to our room the tv STILL isn t working, reported again to maintenance only to get a return call that the IT manager is off today and unable to fix the tv until tomorrow...
Great Sandals. Beautiful property on a beautiful island. The staff was amazing as they are at every Sandals resort. Resort rooms were a little outdated.
Best time! Beautiful resort and gorgeous beach! Water is crystal clear!! Been to quite a few Sandals resorts and this is one of our favorites. I saw some people say that they contracted bed bug bites at this resort. I don't think that was the case. I think they were sand flea bites. Talked to a resort staff person and they said they have had issues with sand fleas. Bites are very similar to bed bug bites. Use bug spray if walking the beach at night or early morning. Don't let that scare you off! This is a beautiful resort. Only issue we have had is this place is very heavy with butler service. If you don't book a butler room, it can be difficult getting chairs by the main pool unless you get up early to reserve.
You cannot get into this place unless you have signed up as a guest for the day which cost about $150, which may include food, not sure. I think if you have a car you'll have much greater fun exploring and finding other beautiful beaches instead of this one.
March 2019... Bev and I spent our best and last vacation together at Emerald Bay. Bev was in her wheelchair most of the 8 days we were there. Together we experienced and fully enjoyed everything this excellent resort offered. Bev was well known there as the wheelchair lady, my wheelchair lady. Bev passed away May 19, 2020 from ALS. Please inform your entire staff of Bev's passing. I will be forever thankful for the kindness and love your entire staff gave to Bev. Les Slind (Rob).
Over rated, over expensive. Not friendly to visitors yet their guests visit other hotels and are welcome.. To visit sandals you are forced to buy a pass for $150.00 per person. Just to use a restaurant!!!! Very very poor...
Unbelievable waters, fun and exciting activities, great food and service and relaxing atmosphere. In usual Sandals style, Emerald Bay was everything we expected and more. Locals are very nice and very safe off the resort.
+ beautiful place + delicious food - dirty rooms, rug not vacuumed during our 6 days stay - friendly staff is rare, smiling personal nearly not existing - ridiculous pool/beach chair reset action policy which only works if you tip the enough. Chair at the beach, pools and the cabanas were blocked with book till afternoon and guests don't show up because the personal place items on the chair to let it look like someone was there - the swim with pigs tour goes to a different island (not to the pig beach) where they obviously placed some pigs and feed them daily and bring them fresh water. The duration of the tour was ~4h but we were less than 30min to the pigs place. The entertainers took us around, we've seen nice other places but we were unprepared to go for snorkeling because we thought we would go to the original pig beach ~1.5-2h each way
I would not come back again to this resort and based on this first time in sandals experience I don't think I will be ever going to any other Sandals/Beaches resort
Great property. 11 restaurants. Great food. Mile long beach. Crystal blue water. Not ovetrly rough Events pool (very active) Quiet pool with hot tub. Extraordinary golf course with back 9 on water.
Amazing place! Customer service top notch! Food was great. Place was beautiful:) Excursion to see the pigs was so much fun! One of the best vacations I've ever been on and will go back for sure!
The resort was absolutely beautiful, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent. This place has been on my "bucket list" for a long time now. We finally went and it did not disappoint! We had a truly amazing vacation! Quite possibly the most romantic place on Earth!
Resort that I could call a fake luxury staff is not up to a hotel of that level is not collaborative it always tells you yes to every request even as simple as the pool towels finished shortly after the start of the service and never again reported. The restaurants are not of the level of which they boast in the description and the rooms sold on the beach are nothing more than in big buildings far from the sea so much that if you are not on the top floor you don't even see it! Sorry for the bad experience but never in a Sandals at that price there is so much more in the world!
Awesome time! Butlers (Valdez, Cory and Monticello) were always one step ahead of us. We visited last year (with the same butlers) and they remembered everything we requested form that year all the way down to which cabana we preferred. Management has really stepped it up! We have already booked next year. See you all then! John and Becky
This was our fifth 10 days trip to a Sandals resort. We love the Caribbean Islands and go there every July to celebrate our anniversary. As usual, Sandals did not disappoint and proven us again why we choose to continue and visit their wonderful resorts. Even though, this time we were not overly optimistic that we will make the vacation, we got very lucky to get in all 10 days out of the 15 days window of opportunity when the boarders were open. I would first like to say that the staff at this resort was SUPER FRIENDLY!!! They seemed so happy to see people back and made every minute of every day special. The staff also wore masks and kept social distancing everywhere which in this heat, is something to be proud of. The food was terrific and we especially enjoyed the special "Fish in a foil" from Chef Wesley at the jerk shack. Soy (as usual) did not fail and the manager Joel made sure that ew were treated like royalty. Italian and French restaurants were delicious and the service excellent. Since the resort was at 50% capacity, we were also upgraded which was very nice which continues to impress us as Sandals staff was doing everything in their power to thank us for making it there. Emma at the return/travel lounge was fabulous and helped us book next years Grande Saint Lucias trip. The pools were very nice and fairly chill/quiet and the ocean colors and water were as perfect as it gets!!! Overall, fantastic place that we will be going back to!!!!!!
OMG!!! Best vacation ever!! I highly recommend getting a butler I am not sure of a the cost as my husband did most of the planning however I know it won't set you set back any more this the trip will:) we had two butlers lee and stephan they were fantastic!!! I mean really and truly made our trip memorable!!! We will be back
Noooooo! I just began reviewing on maps...so I'm posting this review from over a year ago.
I am so upset with this place! From start to finish...this was a huge disappointment! The beauty of this place is amazing, and some of the staff are wonderful. However, everything that was supposed to be inclusive was inaccessible.
Dinner reservations is a disaster! They told us they had no reservations available to eat at the French and Italian places....even days in advance. Yet, when I insisted on sitting down..I was surrounded by 4 empty tables everytime! I was told those were reservations that didn't show...and that was their table until they did...as hours would go by empty.
The pool service was a consistency of waiting for over an hour each time. I abhor this complaining...but I'm going to continue..so others know what your truly purchasing here!
Scuba...all inclusive...but IF you can grab an opening....they will charge you for the training you must take to access it.
The finale...my husband and I are covered in bed bug bites ...room #1103. Can't believe I'm posting this...but I wish I had read this before hand!
This is a management problem! We tried to remain happy while here, so we mentioned our concerns when we faced an issue, and tried to let the negativity drop from there. But it's really frustrating to voice our concerns, believe that it's being handled, only to find that the resort will tell us each time... what they think we want to hear...and then do nothing. I would much rather spend 800 a night elsewhere...and be able to tip staff to give incentive to do better, and pay as I go for other sports and luxuries.
This was a common problem with other vacationers...as it was regularly being discussed around the pool.
In the end...We flew or own plane in...and the hotel dropped us off...bags and all...at the wrong location. We laughed our way through this poor purchase...but now I'm home.
The resort and beach are beautiful! The entertainment department could use some upgrades. The music by the pool was the same everyday as well as the trivia by the pool. Not much night life if that is what you are looking for at a resort. We've visited mulitple resorts and this one for mainly for relaxing!
Top notch everything all the way. The most incredible food service and grounds. The pool bar staff especially Terrence are phenomenal. Would come here again in a heartbeat. First sandals experience and would love to try them all!! Oh and did I mention the most beautiful beach and emerald water I have ever seen!!! This place and the staff are heaven!!!
We would absolutely go back Emerald Bay. Clearest water we have seen so far, excursions were amazing. The food was good, grounds were great and the pool beautiful. If there was a downside, it would be the friendliness of staff, some seemed put out by the guests while others were great.
Went for our honeymoon Jan 3-9. Beach was great and best liquor but worst food selection i've had in any resort. Room was not clean, air condition kept breaking and resort seemed under staffed. Service wasn't very friendly, maybe its their culture. If you are into details, this was a huge fail as dirty towels were left on chairs for hours. This was a reoccuring theme with other couples we chatted with. We made the best of it. I don't think we will stay at a Sandals again. Wouldn't recommend going in Winter or off season.
Sandals Exuma Emerald Bay was fantastic and very relaxing. This was the 1st Sandals vacation so we did not know what to expect, and we loved it - and we met so many return visitors to Exuma as well who shared the same opinion. Overall - a great vacation in July 2019, and only about 3 hours of total rain fall for a 5 night stay. We had no bugs on the beach even at night, but we could smell the heavy bug spray they were spraying, I can not imagine it was 100% organic. Loved the food choices and restaurants but La Parisienne was our favorite followed by Barefoot. We did not eat in the Japanese style eateries. Pizza at Dinos was a nice break too. Rooms were spacious and we stayed in a non butler Honeymoon suite, and decided the butler experience was not needed for this trip of ours, but others loved the experience - setting out towels, bringing drinks, reservations, etc - but we passed and didn't miss anything. Mini bar was a plus in our room as well as room service, even though they forgot to bring our order one night - but we quickly went out and ate like kings. We also went to swim with the pigs - more like standing in the water with the pigs, but it was an amazing excursion with the pigs, swimming holes, and a fantastic boat ride. The grounds were fantastic, spacious, and plenty of places to explore. The beach has great seating spaces with shade, and we always had a spot and took long walks down the beach towards the end of the bay. Take a trip here and Sandals will treat you great!
The view is amazing, the service was not as great as the last time we visited. The food was not great either, not sure for the money we paid we will return!!
There is nothing I could fault about the hotel. The service was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean - room service even came twice a day. The hotel complex and the beach were beautiful! The food was very, very tasty - rarely eaten so well. The all incl. Cocktails were made from high quality spirits and juices. Delicious!
5 stars, as their countless commercials state, is a joke. We had the highest room grade offered with butler service. We spent time before arriving filling out our preferences online. Upon arrival, nothing was stocked, we had to continually track down our butlers for anything we wanted, and NONE of our needs were "anticipated". We're pretty easy. We like vodka. We always like ice on hand. In the evening we like salty snacks. Not too hard right? You'd think over 7 days someone might get that. Nope. Every day we had to ask for everything. Everyone was pleasant, smiled and seemingly ignored our requests. Aside from a tired room, whose upholstery looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a decade, our most disturbing discovery came towards the end of our stay. We noticed that when they replenished our bathroom with toiletries that all of the seals were broken. Meaning if someone checked out and their shampoos or lotions weren't empty...they just put them in another room. On the day of our departure, a gentleman came around and asked for all of our liquor (open or not). This leads me to believe that if we gave him a bottle of vodka that was still half full, it probably goes straight behind the counter at the pool bar. After what happened recently in the DR, that seems not only cheap...but dangerous.
This is our second sandals vacation. So far we are 2 for 2. Both resorts have their quirks, but we have been very happy so far. Rooms are clean and customer service is excellent. Multiple restaurants were good. Wish they opened earlier for breakfast for the people who need to be up earlier (scuba, excursions). Gold course was good. Would recommend the "swimming with pigs" adventure they have. Sounds silly, but was totally worth it.
Spent 7 nights here for our honeymoon, and had an amazing time. Wonderful staff, beautiful resort and amenities. We booked an excursion through the resort to see the swimming pigs, which was incredible. We will definitely return one day.
We had so much fun! Our butlers Roy and Kevin were attentive, and always seemed to know where to find us, the resort was beautiful and the water crystal clear and bright blue. The excursions were wonderful and worth every penny.
Marvelous all inclusive resort. Friendly staff. Good food, especially the Indian, French and sushi restaurants. Spectacular golf course. The back nine is just amazing. Well equiped gym. Very beautiful spa. Magnificent blue water. It's not cheap but I believe it's a good value for the money
Stepping through the main reception, this resort beholds beauty only one could dream of in the Bahamas. The beaches are blue green with the whitest sand. We had a beach view room on the third floor where we could see the sunrise. There are many secluded seating/relaxation spots throughout the resort. There were many places to eat but room service is also available all day 7a-11p. As in Sandals fashion they have all sorts of activities but if the seas are rough that day some of the water activities may be suspended. Great weather in late June, no bugs until the last day. Room has bug spray if you need it, and an umbrella for those afternoon showers. This is a pretty subdued resort, more of a relaxation one compared to another resort we went to last year. We did enjoy it as equally though.
Just returned from the best vacation we've ever had! This resort is absolutely top notch. From the beautiful pools, pristine beach and wonderful restaurants, you won't find a nicer resort. The service we received from every resort employee was superb. Every employee was extremely friendly and helpful whose main goal was to treat each quest like royalty! We went the extra mile by adding the butler package to our trip. If you can swing it, this is the way to go. Our team of butlers, Keisha, Scott and Anfroy were fantastic. They provided excellent service always anticipating our every desire. We did not want to come home! Thanks Sandals Emerald Bay, can't wait to come back.
We spent a dream week. The resort is gorgeous, very nice and clean. You have a super all-inclusive: eat and drink, with unlimited alcohol and spirits. The beach in front of the resort is very large and beautiful, in particular moving to the bottom on the right, you will find a point of beach and beautiful sea. The resort has many restaurants, three are by reservation (French, Japanese and Indian) but all are included in the price. I recommend you try all the restaurants because each one offers different specialties, in all you will be welcomed with kindness and elegance. The waiters always try to be very professional and kind, but above all the food is of excellent quality. The rooms are large and clean, all with sea views, the most beautiful on the ground floor and first floor, slightly less than those on the second and last floor, which we then chose to not have people on. In the evening if you fancy a drink or a little dancing, you will find a pub open until 1.30am and a room where you can play billiards, table tennis and other games. I advise you to book the excursion that takes you between the various stages, also to Pig Beach, a beach now famous because you will bathe with pigs that live there. We have booked it online in advance, with the external agency Sugar, to save a little, because it is very expensive, but really beautiful. You have the opportunity to buy excursions also with the hotel. The services that the hotel offers are really many and all included, you will be pampered and spoiled since you arrived. Book without doubt, you won't regret it. Below I put some photos taken, including some of the excursion. Enjoy!
Not even close to 5 stars! The grounds are beautiful and the staff is very friendly, but the service is horrible! We were there a week and waited at least an hour for every meal except breakfast. They advertise premium drinks, but they are almost impossible to get. The food is mediocre at best. You have to get reservations for the decent restaurants at night and it is difficult. Although they were NEVER full. 24hr menu is very limited. Will never do a Sandals again.
Sandals Emerald Bay was beyond what I thought it was going to be. The resort was beautiful ! The water was emerald green and turquoise blue ! My husband and I went here for our 15 year wedding anniversary ! It was amazing ! We decided to get the Butler service ... OH MY so worth it ! Our Butlers Garth and Arielle were FABULOUS!!! They went above and beyond for everything ! I highly recommend them !
The housekeeping was wonderful ! The room always looked clean and neat ! She did an awesome Job !
My husband and I also decided to do the Photos while we were there ! Ask for Kenny he took some amazing shots of us !!!!
Sandals Emerald Bay was amazing ! i know i keep using that word but it truly was !
Top service, good food, top wines. Only the rooms (we had club level) need a little renovation. Grisser main pool and a slightly smaller, but warmer relaxation pool
When I discribe my past sandals vacation I use words like ' incredible ' and ' luxurious ' this will not be the case for emerald bay. Let's start with the butlers. So there were 3 in total ( not naming names ). The young guy, kindly but not driven to provide service, #2 we couldn't get ahold of half the time, #3 we really hardly saw but he did create a nice late night surprise cake in our room for my wife's bday. That was greatly appreciated. These people certainly did not train at the same Butler school as the butlers at La Toc. Some small Examples..Told my wife to call housekeeping herself for getting the room cleaned when no one had come, No help with check out, Never even said goodbye to us. We had been used to a white glove level of service previously that exceeded our expectations. Butlers came to us to Escort us everywhere, offered to look after things and made suggestions for making it a great vacation. These butlers seemed to do a minimum routine and the same for everyone. Not much customized for you. So on that note let's talk about food. The breakfast buffet and the Italian both served decent and quick food service. The staff however are few and far between. Might take 15 min to get a table. The servers and hostesses make a point of making sure everyone knows how miserable they are. Clearly 90 percent of the staff hate their job and they let you know how annoyed they are to be there. Lunch time meals are served at the same restaurants plus they add a hot dog cart and pizza stand! Wow that's luxury! The hot dogs were good, don't get me wrong but it's not the sort of thing we expect at a Sandals resort. Ok let's talk dinner. You will be so lucky as 2 choose from 2 proper menu restaurants ( no joke ) I do not consider a pizza store and pub a dinner restaurant . First one we went to was the French. Our butler said he'd meet us at the lobby to escort us to our dinner. After waiting 10 mins for him, we just went. Unhappy staff there. Staff walk past people waiting without saying a word. No hostess was ever waiting at the front to greet people. The food was decent but service was so slow. 15 min to get a drink order the 40 min before you get the apps. Food was fine but the service was awful. Lastly we had a great meal at the Italian. The food was great and not too slow. Just again a very unpleasant staff. You can't even get them to crack a smile. After telling the waitress my wife was celebrating her birthday, she barely even acknowledged it. I've given some specific points and honestly my wife and I could go on with more about poor planning by the resort and the poor repair of some things but I think you get the idea. Also, I don't want anyone to think this is one jaded review. We spoke with at least 3 other couples that had visited other Sandals resorts and all agreed that this resort didn't come close to measuring up. A true let down for our hard earned money. If someone was going here for their first Sandals vacation it might seem ok. But if you are well versed in Sandals luxury steer clear or you will leave sadly disappointed.
i have traveled all over the world and have to say that the service at this hotel is the worst service i have ever received. the party that we went with began to joke that everybody is trained to say "no" first. The list of issues is too long to list, but please be aware the staff has no interest in accommodating your requests.
We booked a room with Sandals, Bahamas for our vacation and the borders of the country were shut down prior to our scheduled stay. They could not and did not provide a room to us but kept our entire deposit of $4500. No other resorts were doing this. This company will do whatever they can to keep your money whether or not they can provide you a room. Unbelievable! Crooked! Immoral management making these decisions. Show them you care about their illicit business practices and book somewhere else!
Low room service, TV reception low, food average, installations old, over price due to very heavy advertising in TV and other media, people friendly most of the time.
The resort is BEAUTIFUL, the food is great, but the service (for the most part) was slow and inadequate. Your dry cleaning will take two days, even though it clearly says on the slip that it will be back by 6pm if you have it out by 9am. In room bar was not stocked, and when we requested it be stocked, it still wasn't. This is our fourth trip to a Sandals, and this island and resort are the most beautiful, but the service killed the mood.
Workers are very nice and pleasant, however, we had two issues with our room. 1. shower door hinge and tile come off the wall. Next day we have standing water by the front door, water dripping down wall and into our closet where our shoes were. They supposedly "fix" leak but left water on floor for us to clean up. Had to use our towels and then request dry towels from housekeeping. Had a $243 charge to our room from the Resort shop. Took us 1 1/2 days to resolve. Bathrooms near our pool chairs had plumping issues all week long. One out of two women's stool completely out of service all week long with the 2nd stool constantly overflowing. Finally on last day of stay the closed the bathroom completely. Housekeeping did not come one day. We had to call twice after returning to the room asking for cleanup, finally came after 5 pm. By then we needed to get ready for our dinner reservations. Day of checkout (10am) housekeeping came at 9:15. We needed to have access to bathroom and room to cleanup and pack to get out of there by the 10:00 checkout time but was difficult to achieve while housekeeping was there. Will not stay there again!!!
The beach at Sandals is not the best beach in Exuma. Littered with seaweed. Not tranquil unless you walk all the way around to get to a part that is partially protected by rock. No tourist amenities there.
Paradise! So relaxing! The water is almost unbelievable! So blue! The workers are so nice and helpful! I got extremely spoiled there and didn t want to leave. Is it perfect? Nothing is. We had some power outages from a storm, but if you are in paradise... who cares?!? Don t go looking for perfection, you won t find that anywhere! Just relax, smile, be sure to talk to everyone! We met so many nice people and employees! I can not wait to go back!!! Short plane ride from US and short cab ride to the resort!
The rooms are a little dingey. And the building is a little dated. But the food is for the most part really good. The people are friendly. The drunken duck is very fun at night!! Get the wings there!!
We went here for our "Weddingmoon" (Wedding and Honeymoon package). Really affordable, and it allowed us to splurge on the butler service, which is very worth it. We probably didn't take advantage of it as much as we could have, but regardless, they were very accomodating. If you prefer more peaceful resorts, I would highly suggest this one.
Every Sandals is different and superb in thier respects (with my reservations agains St. Lucia), with the tourqoise blue water and sugar white sand, it is beautiful. Highly recommended, with the staff just as friendly as can be. Henry ans Samson are my MVPs. Loving my stay here, sunburn and all, haha.
The food is better than average for an all inclusive resort. The staff is second to none which makes the stay a great experience. Oh, and the extremely friendly cats running around.
