Horrible! Place at 30% occupancy and they can't seem to do anything one would expect at a 1 star motel!
You call concierge you get voice mail, they never call back or respond to your concern. Housekeeping skipped us on day 2. Broken TV for 3 days so far (out of 5) please note I'm writing this on day 3 rather than enjoying my overpriced vacation! Had and paid for private candlelight dinner tonight and we were blown off... Asked for diet coke in our mini bar which is to be restocked daily, been waiting 3 days and this is still not handled! Broken TV no movies, again 30% occupancy wonder why they can't move us to a room with a TV that works? Oh yes they won't answer the phone.... This place is 3000+ for 5 nights and there is NO service!
Steer clear of Sandals they are a horrible operation as we can't seem to find anyone that cares to even try to make it right!

Resort was beautiful, and the beaches and ocean were breath taking. Staff was very friendly and accommodating and there were always activities going on day or night. Can't wait to go back!

NEGATIVES:

NEGATIVES:
-room service quoted 30 minutes for a tuna wrap. We waited over an hour and had to call 3 additional times to get it
-had only one robe called down for a second - it never came

-mosquitos are out of control. I used bug spray every day. Was there Sunday- Thursday and left with at least 23 bites
-elevator only worked the first day we were there
-two power blackouts on our first day
-2nd day the power went off from around 1am-730am. The fans and air shut off making it uncomfortable to sleep. Also made it to where there was no hot water in the morning, no water pressure (meaning the toilet would not flush or refill)
-our mini fridge was leaking which created a wet slippery mess by the door constantly.
-mini fridge did not get refill
-covered in bed bug bites

Positive:
The staff here is overall very helpful and friendly. The property is beautiful but I'm not sure I would say 5 star. Pool bar staff is incredible. Basil at the front desk was very helpful. Ms. Sharlain was incredible. The customs people at the airport took $600 from us when we arrived. They refused to give it back to us and Shalain stepped in and made sure we got it back.
-food was great
-restaurant service was excellent. We ordered multiple appetizers and entrees each night and they were very accommodating
-pool bar staff went above and beyond to make you feel special. Strong drinks and fun attitude
-didn't know how to sail so one of the guys took us out and taught us
-housekeeping staff was great. Helping us find someone for the swimming pig tour when our person cancelled on us two days in a row. She even made a towel elephant to cheer me up

Was better than we could have ever imagined! Will definitely be visiting Sandles Emrald bay again. Everything Sandles mentions on their website is 110% true and more. Completely stress free and relaxing. The staff is there for your every need and very friendly. Food is wonderful and plentiful!

Everything thing you need. Nothing more and nothing less. Great place to simply get away from it all. Friendly staff. Restaurants are not crowded. Everything is just easy going. And the beach is simply amazing. 1 mile long and plenty of chairs for guests. I definitely recommend the butler service as well. Adds a very special touch to an already great vacation spot.

Was going great until the power went out for the day. On top of that issue the staff at the Paris bakery were rude during the power outage. No compensation was offered for the inconvieniance. The staff everywhere else was excellent.

DO NOT book with Sandals! In April 2019 when visiting another resort, we took advantage of the discount they were offering to book our next trip while there. Flash forward to March 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic. Sandals is refusing to refund us and holding our money hostage but advertising 100% refunds on their website for new bookings. BEWARE if you book as they will likely make it impossible to actually get a refund.

WARNING: My husband and I recently vacationed at the Sandals Exuma location and contracted insect bites consistent with BED BUGS. We notified Sandals customer service who ultimately said Sandals was not responsible and did not vacate the room (current guests were staying in the room we had stayed in), DID NOT PERFORM AN INSPECTION of the room by professional pest control specialists and were unacceptably rude in their communication with us regarding this issue. This customer service and overall management of a legitimate HEALTH RISK is appalling. My husband and I are both physicians and this management of a potential infestation is completely unacceptable. We will never ever stay at a Sandals resort and will make sure to tell all of our friends and family to avoid this organization as well.

Beautiful resort but the staff are not the most friendly. My wife and I have been to 3 Sandals/Beaches resorts and this was our least favorite because of the staff and lack of water activities, which I'll explain. We went here because I love to scuba dive and it's supposed to be pretty good here but because of wind, the surf was around 5 foot high. Instead of taking us on dive boats to the other side of the island, a cove or somewhere else protected, they cancelled not only diving all week but all water activities. I'm not a golfer and so without water activities, there was nothing to do but sit at the pool all week. I was not happy and Sandals did nothing to compensate us other than give us a voucher for a tour for half a day. We did the "swim with the pigs" (@exumawatersports) and it was great, but a 1/2 tour to compensate for zero water activities for a week is outrageous. I contacted management and they did nothing and offered nothing. Again, like I said, the staff were not very friendly and you had to tip the bartenders if you wanted to get a drink without waiting forever. (Tipping is not allowed, by the way). We spent over $5,000 for our stay there, plus nearly $2,000 in airfare so I was very disappointed. I would not go back to this resort and will carefully consider ever going to another Sandals/Beaches resort again.

Sandals Emerald Bay was an incredible experience. The view is to die for. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. The drinks are great as is the food. You have to try the swimming with the pigs excursion. We will definitely be coming back.

Can t say enough good things about Emerald Bay. My wife and I visited here for our 3 year anniversary. We had a Ocean View Suite with the Butler service included. We had a fantastic trip and would love to come back!

Great place with worst butler service. Stayed there for three nights but only got see the butler three times. I don t understand why are they keep changing our butler everyday. So hard to reach out.

We stayed at the grand isle resort which is about a mile away from the sandals resort. Both resorts offer golf carts. One day we took the golf cart to Sandals and found out that in order to use the resort at Sandals you needed a guest pass. The security guards were gracious enough to escort us to the front desk where we were given a $160pp pass for the day. The pool is absolutely beautiful as is the water. It s an all-inclusive resort and it seems like some of the management frowns upon tipping. if you re going to tip make, sure you do it on the down low as to not make the staff feel uncomfortable. Most of the staff was very hospitable. If we come back to Exuma we will stay at Sandals. Definitely take a boat ride so you can swim with the pigs and stingrays. The island is beautiful but some areas are very desolate and rather run down. We felt safe for most part but I would stay on the resort property after 10pm unless you re with a group of people and know your away around. My opinion of the Bahamian people is that they are very hard-working family orientated individuals with great senses of humors who are there to help. Don t take a drone through customs you will tie up line for an hour.

Beautiful place and we had a blast. Food was good, the Pool bar was making exzellent Drinks. Our only complaint was the beds were not comfortable at all and the sheets were hard . We would still come back.

This place is just Heaven!! Service is awesome, people are friendly, restaurants are delicious, the beach looks amazing and it is super quiet!!! A part from all the super great sides what impressed me the most is the real All-Inclusive, you really don't need a $ inside, wine- alcohol- any Typ of Drinks...you can drink eat as much as long you want anywhere in the resort because it is really all included! I recommend this place if you are looking for a relaxing place and a real get away from reality! FYI in the evening there are some singing nights or other small events, if you are looking for party nights this is not your place and the island its self is quite and relaxed. I personally loved it and I would come back 100%.

Great hotel area with private beach, great service, friendly and helpful staff, excellent food in different restaurants belonging to the hotel. Several pools, in the evening live music. Partly sings the service staff in the restaurants. Several tours are offered from the hotel. We went through the Pigs tour and the Turtles tour, highly recommended.

Amazing resort. Go on the pigs excursion... it's waaaaay more than pigs, even though the pigs (and stingrays) are awesome and friendly. Golf course is incredible. Pool, service, drink choice, lanscape, beach, bars, food... all 5 star. We had better experiences with their a la carte than their buffet so we stuck with that - fresh bacon and eggs with hash brown and fruit 7 days in a row for breakfast ;)
It's a great place with options for both peace and relaxation (theres a specific pool and whirlpool designated for peace and quiet) and for fun (main pool and drunken duck pub and the pub plays good music for drinking and dancing later in the eve when a DJ comes in).

Really a amazing place to calm down. Food (especially dinner) is amazing. Very friendly people. Service is just great. I can highly recommend this resort. Even when its almost fully booked you don't get a feeling its crowded at all. The sea view is just great and the water can't be better. If you play Golf you just going to freak out ;-)
The place is huge and perfectly located.
Have fun guys and enjoy the escape from realty during your staying.

Not as good as it could and should be, considering the price tag for this "luxury included" resort.
The beach is not well kept. Small trash does not get removed, such as napkins and plastic straws (which are transparent and become quite invisiblw but litter the beach in the hundreds). Also glasses and towels misteriously remain on the beach for days. Some of the umbrellas are rusting away and more than a few chairs are damaged.
We didn't see any ongoing cleaning activity on the beach and it's heartbreaking to see the amount of plastic being washed up by the sea.
Another problem it's been the excavator going back and forth on the beach for the full morning for three days. The landscaping activities have been quite noisy too, serving as wake up call at 7am on several days.
All this would be tolerable if not for the high prices that Sandals charges.
Food henerally ranges from mediocre to good, with the low being the "pizza" at Dino's and the high the Bombay restaurant, however it's a matter of taste. The a/c temperature is set to freezing in all closed spaces, which is really unnecessary and unpleasant, considering that in the evening it would even be quite nice to dine outdoors.
The room has a noisy fridge that gets refilled daily and can be set to two modes only: off or freezing.
The room needs small repairs. A curtain is visibly broken and hasn't been fixed.
The resort offers a very welcome small "quiet pool" away from the non stop conga playing at the main pool.
The all inclusive, no children policies are definitely a plus. Extras, though, come at a price: a 5 hour islands hopping tour comes at 400 usd per couple.

Overall, a good destination, if you forget about how much you paid for it. The sea is gorgeous and the beach is wide and quiet. The price/quality ratio though is disappointing.

Fantastic experience. Such a great variety of food and activities. The beach is incredible and is cleaned daily. The grounds are beautifully maintained. The staff is also very friendly with excellence in their service. I would highly recommend this place for an island getaway.

Negatives:

Negatives:
-Waitstaff helpfulness/friendliness was inconsistent. We had some fabulous servers/bartenders and we also had some who couldn't care less about giving good customer service. This was the biggest detractor for me. Some of the servers were very inattentive and seemed like they really just didn't want to be there.

-it is a "couples only" resort. I went with a group of friends and because they don't have options for non-couples, I had to share a bed with a friend. Not too big of a deal, but if you are going for a wedding or a big group event with friends, just know that everything is couple-focused.

-Check in is at 3PM. If you get there any earlier than that, they take your bags and send you to eat or to the pool. So if you get there in the morning and are ready for a shower or a nap, you'll have to wait a while a while until you get your room.

-The check-out and shuttle process was very disorganized. They take your bags for you from your room and they put them in them in your shuttle. Some of the people we were with didn't get their bags for an hour or so after they were supposed to leave the resort. They lost one person's bag. I recommend keeping your luggage with you while you are waiting for your room and while you are waiting for the shuttle to come and pick you up to take you back to the airport.

-Waiting on food took pretty long at the seated restaurants.

-We went to breakfast at a seated restaurant. There were 4 of us. 3 of us got our food, but at different times. One of us didn't ever get his food. So he had to eat elsewhere.

-Some of the food wasn't great. But if I came across a meal that wasn't good, I just went somewhere else and had a second meal.

-The sand around the little huts on the beach was kinda dirty. Cigarette butts, other little pieces of trash.

-Mosquitoes. Everyone in my group got eaten up by mosquitos.

-2 people in our group were promised refunds for some of the spa services they paid for on their credit cards, but they never got their refunds.

Positives
-I feel like I got my money's worth. Stayed 4 nights and paid $250 per night per person. Considering all the inclusions, $500/night per room was worth it.

-The Jerk chicken restaurant and the pub had delicious food. The burger at the pub was DELICIOUS.

-Water is beautiful. Pool is great.

-The one night I did order room service, it came quickly and the delivery person was very friendly. Room service is 24/7.

-There are some island cats who live on the resort. They are very friendly and will come right up to your patio and let you pet them. I love cats so this was cool for me.

-The property is beautiful. The flowers, plants, grass are perfectly manicured.

-There are cool excursions to do. If not through the resort, you can find local tours to take.

-Rooms were fine. Bed was comfortable. No unpleasant odors, everything was very clean. Thermostat in the room worked great.
