Excellent resort in downtown San Diego. The grounds are beautiful with large pools, grass, and lots of shade. Walking distance to all sorts of shopping, food, and entertainment. Rooms are comfortable and staff is friendly. Concierge lounge is small, but enjoyable, and as its on the second to top floor, has an amazing view of the harbor. I stay here as much as I can.

The location of the hotel was spectacular and convenient to the airport. There were great views of the harbor and epicity available. The concierge room was nice and stocked and available at all times of the day. The gym was one of the best I have ever seen in any hotel. The Starbucks was fast and efficient and worked through long lines of people very quickly. The restaurants and bars had a great Ambiance and service was spectacular
Fantastic hotel located near the water. Beautiful boats and yachts in the harbor. Parking is pricey but is abundant. Roy's restaurant is there, plus they have a Starbucks.
Gorgeous hotel right on the water and next door to the convention center, seaport shopping district, and the gaslamp district. 15 min from airport. Perfect location.
Our first time staying here. This place is massive and right next to the convention center. We had a beautiful room with views of the marina and Coronado.
They have a lively bar downstairs and a nice quick service restaurant with grab and good snacks and drinks. It s great for a quick bottle of wine to take to your room.
Parking was easy, but at first we got confused and had to walk through a maze of back doors and escalators to find the front desk. There are signs but they point to myriad places and we got lost.
It's comparable to other hotels in the area. The view and accommodations are nice, but the price is rough. The food is typical, overpriced hotel fare, and the surrounding attractions are ok, not great.
The room was small but big enough for two people the view was spectacular and everything was very clean. I loved all the decoration details they had and the service was excellent. The parking lot was little expensive but it was in a very good location to visit all the restaurants and the convention next door
Perfect location, many rooms have views. $25 nightly amenity fee comes with $10/day Starbucks credit, access to bikes and kayaks (1 hour daily), workout room, etc.
My husband and I came to San Diego for a mini vacation not knowing it was Comic Con 2019. We enjoyed your beautiful hotel throughly. The room was well maintained, your staff was helpful and knowledgeable about places to visit and how to get there, and the food was to die for. Next time we will stay when Comic Con isn't going on though. Thank you so much for a enjoyable experience.
Lovely hotel. Every amenity, multiple restaurants and bars on site, and the gym is great. Excellent customer service. Have stayed here for work conventions and am never dissatisfied.
Absolutely excellent place to stay in San Diego. Walking distance from the Gaslamp Quarters and right on the marina. Take a walk to the convention center which is right next door or towards the midway museum if you like walks (about 15-20 mins). The most spectacular views of any Marquis I have stayed at and very helpful staff. The two pools one for adults and a 3.5' for kids with plenty of poolside seating. An good workout area with separate spinning section and attached restrooms. The North Tower opens to the Marina for beautiful walks and the South Tower hosts the self parking. Absolutely the place to stay when visiting San Diego.
Location is great, good distance from gaslamp and other places! Room was very clean, although the light switch for the bathroom was faulty. Room service took quite a while when requesting for extra amenities.
Gorgeous hotel, but the parking situation could be a lot better. Having to walk half a mile from the garage to the conference room is just a little too much.
Tried to get a pizza at their 24hr market and it was horrible. The staff was disorganized and after 10 mins I asked the stats of the order and they haven't even started it. Do go eating here.
Been going to this hotel for years. I normally would give them around 3 stars because of service (the hotel and grounds are amazing and 5 stars all the time). However, this time it was 5 stars all the way. Must have had a recent management change.
Stayed here to see a Chargers game. Rooms were clean. Bed very comfortable. Pool area very nice. Fire pits with seating by pool is really nice too. Breakfast Buffet is awesome. Marina is incredible. Nice local attractions nearby.
The Marriott Marquis is a great place to stay in San Diego. It's near Seaport Village, the convention center, and the Gaslamp District. Because of this, the rates are pricey, especially if there's a convention. But it's worth it if you don't have a car.
The rooms are clean, and if you have a balcony, you'll have a beautiful view of Coronado and the ocean.
The food options in the hotel are good. There's a Starbucks, a sandwich place.. the gift shop also has lots of snacks to buy. For more high-end options, there's the Marina Kitchen and Roy's Hawaiian Fusion.
It was a beautiful hotel! Lovely rooms, great views, and wonderful staff. Loved the restaurant by the pool because, they were quick and the food tastes great. I highly recommend staying here!
Every time I work in San Diego, I make it my business to stay here. I always feel like I'm at a resort. The staff is extremely courteous and very helpful. I love staying at this hotel.
Great hotel. The location is perfect. Everyone was very professional and the service was very good. I wish I was here a bit longer to explore the city. The price is on the high side though. Since my employer is paying, the price was fine for this trip. I may opt for a lesser priced hotel if I come back and have to pay for it myself. Overall, I don't have any complaints about the hotel. Well done.
The restaurant served a good breakfast and we enjoyed a meal in the brasserie/bar. The spa that a-joins the hotel and was included in our stay was a lovely extra benefit and has some great views of the lake. Each and every staff member we met delivered a friendly welcoming service and it was a pleasure to spend a long weekend in this hotel and pleasant town.
Here for a conference of about 5k attendees. The staff has been unable ro keep up with the restrooms; lack of paper towels and soap, gross floors and over flowing trash cans have been the norm for 3 straight days. I expected more from a Marriott. Perhaps 5,000 attendees is beyond their capability.
The room and the hotel very comfortable, it is a pity that I have been asking for two months to reimburse me the 50 dollars or to tell me why they loaded my card, after hundreds of emails still do not give solution.
Absolutely amazing Hotel. Top of the line. Best of the Best! Every employee is extremely courteous and kind and helpful. The grounds are gorgeous and the pool area is amazing. It's like an oasis. I've stayed here several times and have never been disappointed. All the restaurants have amazing food as well. The Marriott family definitely knows how to cater to their clients. Well done! I will be back.
The place was amazing we have a City View that's what we asked for but it's overlooking the Coronado Bridge as well very beautiful hair we just went bike riding and her whole family was laughing at each other cuz it was hard to do it's been a long time since I rode a bike laughing at each other my size is a little bit bigger than the bike .
I was there during Comic Con so I can't comment on how it usually is, but the place and staff were nice, I'll be it very standard for a hotel resort of that class
Called to confirm an early check-in SEVERAL times, only for me to arrive without my room ready. Lady at the front said she had no record of desiring an early check in. Had to show her my confirmation email and had her call a manager before we were given a room. Had to wait in the lobby at 3AM for an hour while they tried to tell me they were "fully accommodated" until they finally figured it out. Room service was cold by the time it got to the room and unimpressive. The hotel sent me three different receipts with different balances for my stay, confusing us. They also placed and removed numerous pending charges throughout may stay to my card for numerous different amounts, none of which was my actual recorded balance for the stay. Nobody can explain the receipts or the strange amount that they placed a hold on my account for. Very annoying and an unnecessary hassle. Honestly the hotel is overpriced and outdated, looks nicer in the photos. Our room keys stopped working on two different occasions locking us out of the room/hotel/and parking garage. Was a huge hassle to get it fixed and took security ages to let us in. They replaced our keys just only after us waiting outside forever. There are much nicer hotels in the same convenient gas lamp location with better amenities, more affordable price, and better customer service. They nickel and dime you for everything and add on a bunch of fees that we were told would be removed (never was). Save yourself the headache and the trouble and just stay at the Hyatt. Definitely will not stay at a Marriott hotel again after this poor experience and will encourage my friends and family to do the same.
Key to room did not work on elevator..had to report it 4 times. Tried to upgrade room..they said no upgrades but then a friend who came later upgraded. Very disappointed..we are platinum members.
Has everything you could want and then some. Pool, spa, restaurants, bar, gift shop, postal shop, meeting rooms, business center, and has their own confrence area and ballrooms. The service is always top notch too very helpful.
Very nice Hotel, but my vehicle was broken into inside their parking garage! The thieves quickly ran up my credit card before I cancelled. I was told the garage has no cameras and criminals come and go as they please. For $32 a night, I expected more security. How safe a woman would be self-parking her car at night? Be careful!
Hotel was packed but service was still swift and courteous. Rooms were nice, and well equipped for a week's stay. Location is beautiful, right on the water. North tower has the nicer rooms. Would recommend staying here.
Honestly I'm not surprised at the Marriott is one of the rudest hotels out there. Registration was rude the concierge was rude baggage guy was rude. Over all this place pretty much thinks you're lucky to stay there. I know one thing, myself and my company will never stay there again!
