The San Diego County Fair is an annual event that starts early June and goes until July 4th. It's fun to go there hungry and eat the Maui chicken, corn dogs, Kettle corn, funnel cakes, BBQ, roasted corn on the cob eclares, and anything else new they have. Then walk around the Halls and shop gadgets and new inventions, see the livestock, bunnies, goats, sheep etc. and admire the art and collectables on the other side. This year we rode several rides including the skylift across. "Kansas" and "The Cult" played and both groups still sounded great!!

The fair has been a summer kick off since I was a kid but my how times change. I'm not so much turned off by the expense to get in but the cost of parking is insane. The $5 horse park turned us away because they said it was full, yet there was a steady stream of cars exiting. We were then directed to Torrey pines high school where the lines for the buses was insane. We eventually circled back and got stuck in the preferred parking line at the fairgrounds ($27) because of poor placement of signs. Rather than waste another half hour going toward Del Mar to turn around we coughed up the $27.

Added the people doing security bag checking were as pleasant as a dead fish and pretty rude. After we finally got inside we had a great time though.

Amazing fair with unlimited things to do! There is live music around ever corner, delicious sweet or fried fair food, rides, animals and even amazing art to look at! I recommend going during the week to avoid the crowds but you have the entire month of june and up to July 4th to attend!

Its very neatly organized. Friendly volunters. Thanks to the trams for to and fro services. Good parking. But, felt like this years theme wa not properly presented. Buying theme food became difficult for us . Rest of tge food , shopping was like last year and was bohring. Bungee jump was little low heighted and that it does not put the contestants back to the height once jumped like it sayes bungee. Prices were expensive.

This was an incredible experience.. All about Oz everything. The exhibit was so interesting, fun and took me back to that special place in my heart for Dorothy, tin man, the scarecrow and lion.
They also sell all the candies that you used to buy at the 5 n dime and can only buy online now.
The rides are newer but still a whopping amount to ride so choose wisely. The music was great, people were friendly and the grandkids first time ever was magical.
There was really no better place to be than with family at the fair this June 2019. Have a wonderful time

So much fun!!!!! Definitely an all day event! Don't expect to see everything if you can't be there all day. As for pricing, it's a bit expensive; but hey it's a fair, what do u expect. It has a very cute kids area, which I love! It has a very cool animal area: cows, chickens, turkeys and sheep. Food is very creative, very many choices and themed foods.

Lots of great, fried food and exhibits to see. Something for everyone and every age. The only negative part is how crowded it gets. When we go we always get there at opening and leave after lunch. If you plan ahead you can see everything you want and avoid the worst of the crowds.

Was really fun place to go. Lots of things to see and buy especially food! Parking could be a bit crazy on some days more than others. Try to come during a week day not weekend. Also you can bring in your own food in a cooler and guest services will hold it for you till your ready to eat and enjoy so you dont have to lug it around.

I'm a little biased. I love the fair even though I hate crowds. It's always crowded in the evenings and weekends. It's not as bad as Disneyland but its hard to walk a couple steps without bumping into someone. If you don't want to pay for the 25+ dollar parking, you have the possibility of going to the horse tracks and only paying 5 dollars. It used to be free but they changed it this year. The buses are efficient and come every 5-10 minutes so the wait isn't bad. The walking to the bus is short unlike if you park by the fair. Anyways, they have wine, beers, mixed drinks that are sold and consumed in a restricted area. The price range is 5- 25ish dollars. Food vendors are located all throughout the main road. On average I at least spend 50 bucks on myself, which include a meal and rides. Meals usually cost between 15-25 dollars with a drink. Tickets are a totally different moster though. I would much rather get a wrist band than buy individual/group tickets if you plan on riding more than 3 rides. They have art exhibits, monster truck shows and other events happening throughout the month. Hope this helps.

Can't go wrong if you like County Fairs. Absolutely something for everyone kids to seniors. Discount tickets available at Vons or Albertsons food stores. Use sunscreen please. Plan on lots of walking. Sadly not enough places to sit. I go yearly since it's cheap and so entertaining. I'm 63 & spent 6 hrs there, much of it on my feet. Lots of photo opportunities. Tons of food choices with various pricing. Several HUGE buildings with varied vendors. Big childrens separate area in the horse racing arena. The fair has tiny home models, hobby collection halls, baking halls, many art halls for adults and children. Wood working hall, gems and minerals hall. Many stages with free shows. Lots of scary teenager rides. Big name entertainment. Great garden and flower displays.

I like to go on the 4th of July, great fireworks show, and if you time it right you can catch a ride when they start popping off. Lots of food and carnival games. I go when the sun starts to set to beat the heat, but I recommend going twice if possible. One day for the shows, livestock, contests, etc, and one evening for the rides/fireworks.
The traffic off the freeway and parking madness topped of with a $20 parking fee is highly stressful for me, so I park at the Solana Beach Coaster station (for free). There is a shuttle that goes straight to the fair from the Coaster station and back for a small fee. Totally worth it to not have to deal with the fair traffic and parking.

Always fun at the fair with a new theme each year! Plenty of shopping, food and different events. The monster trucks are always fun and you can even pay to ride in a firehouse monster truck! We all had a blast riding it and look forward to next year!

The fair is huge and full of people but at 75 degrees it's not bad. The price is kinda experience $18 a person and $15 to park, but the best deal is at Costco. For $73 you get tickets for 4 people, free parking, 50 ride tickets, 4 BOGO soda or drink vouchers plus a $20 discount packet. So we saved over $75 bucks using Costco.
