Attended the Silver Bay dog show....first one I've seen.
It was fun and educational. The dog owners were so kind in sharing their dog's breed. It is obvious that these owners are dedicated and loving. I highly recommend having this experience.

YOLO MY PEEPS, if you're reading this, it means you're ready to go all out as I did on this day!!! Let's start off by Purchasing preferred parking, trust me, after walking too long, your family & friends will thank you for the gr8 idea of parking so close. Admissions are cheaper if you use discounts & codes you find online through the fair & it's sponsors. Don't 4get 2 buy the fast pass, only $20 bucks gets you on all the rides in half the time. The food, games, & the rides are bigger, better, and faster than the average neighborhood carnivals. W/ that said you know you'll be paying more, but it's worth it! Dress in comfortable attire & have a blast! Happy 4th of July!

Great event to attend every June in San Diego. A lot of delicious food items to satisfy any appetite. Large vendor turnout where you can find just about anything. There are rides for everyone, from slow moving to crazy adventurous. Many affordable fair packages to choose from. Plenty of parking available with shuttle service. Awesome concert line up. Overall a great family/ friend event

Great time we had and enjoyed lot's of selections for food. We did have an issue with a ride operator who we were later informed the reason why we received such bad service was because he didn't speak English.

Huge, awesome fair! Off site parking is free and shuttle service is provided to the fair. We parked at the Horse Park site and the shuttles were double decker buses. The price of the ticket books are pretty steep, and with rides averaging 4-5 tickets they go pretty fast. I would suggest buying an unlimited band. There is an overabundance of food choices and games. Plus there are plenty shows, craft spot, and exhibits. Bring your patience because although lines move pretty quickly, it's always super crowded.

The fair has sold out to, too many peoplentrying to sell you something. The Carnys now start as you walk through any gate.
I really get tired of saying "no thank you". As usual its best to go the first week, no lines and everything is clean.
The theme this year is weak but... thats just my opinion.
Been in SD for 40 years it use to be magical.
I really miss that.
Still lots of fun to be had, just need thicker skin and money to spend.

Kind of worn off the "Fair" experience over the years. Too many people, large crowds, hours to wait for dirty diesel bus back to free parking. Still has some good "free" acts/bands, but most everything else is a Jackson & above. Make sure to bring a Ben Franklin for each guest to have a good time.

I've loved this place since I was a kid! Now I take my young daughters and they can't ever get enough of their time there. Through the years of course the costs have gone up for EVERYTHING but its still worth at least a one time visit. I will say though that the parking can use a major overhaul! PERIOD!!! The food is always fun BUT to me it seems that the hot food is not always as hot as should be. Nothing tastes worst then biting into a $50 meal of cold BBQ pulled pork and tri-tip sandwiches, a luke warm cheese burger and some cold some hot fries The food through the years seems to smell better then it taste! Lol But if you just love the essence of the fair like I do, you will still come back every year and do it all over again!

Lots of things to look at, listen to, eat and buy. I try to come every year. If nothing else but to listen to the barkers. You must try the footsie wootsie machines located throughout the fair. Only a quarter and massage your feet and calves so well. Perfect after a day of walking and walking!.

The fair was just ok this year. There are less venders. Everything was mostly overpriced, which is to be expected. I tried the deep fried filet mignon. It was pretty tasteless. The meat itself needs salt and pepper. I was surprised it wasn't very tender Save your money. I went to see the flowers. Not a whole lot of entries. A lot of dahlias. Some were very pretty. Not very many roses. Also some gladiolas. I usually enjoy the flowers. Not so much this year. If you take the bus from Mira Costa College be prepared to be stuck in traffic due to I-5 expansion. The bus has to go north on the freeway and then get back on the freeway to go south to Del Mar because of road construction. I thought I would mention this for concert goers who may need to allow extra time to get there. I usually enjoy going to the fair to see some of the exhibits and to people watch. Might just be me but was ok not staying long and going home.

Had a great time. It was good for me and my mom. I thought it was bigger when I was growing up, but it was the perfect size for me now. I remember the days when the police presents was overwhelming, now I didn't see any. I felt quit safe. The food and the music was the best, and the student art was inspiring. I might go back one more time. I paid for special parking, $25 and it was a two minute walk to the entrance. Great family fun.

Brazenly expensive, if you want to have a heart attack or a thrombus of fat this is the precise place, the palace of cholesterol, there is no option of fairly healthy food.
Of the games I do not think I'd like a whole day to describe the desepcion.
If you want to go, at least reserve $ 120 per person.

Same vendors, same food, nothing really new that stood out, or that made me want to go back for a few years. Not to mention kids getting sick and dying from visiting the petting zoo. But, when at the fair, eat at the fair. The corn on the cob with melted butter and seasoning is still my fair favorite. My husband and kids ate other things that just did not appeal to me. Stayed a few hours for rides and eats... Definitely love the Ventura county fair more... just seems more fairish to me.
