Expensive. Pay to park, pay to enter, pay to eat, pay to ride, pay to play games...
We were visiting from out of town and thought we'd do this fair since we are going to miss our own.
Wish we had gone to Disney, Legoland, Knotts Berry Farm, Sea World, pretty much any place other than here. Not enough value for the money.

All the fun of the fair until we were told why there are no animals there. Extremely sad as to what happened. Wish they had posted online and at the gate to advise people there were no animals as we traveled 2 hrs to see the animals as they are a great part of the fair. We would have asked for our pre-ordered tickets to be reimbursed and we would have not gone in.

I was on vacation in San Diego with my family and the Fair was the perfect place for everyone. They have rides for children under 10 and another section with the big rides for older kids and I really like that because my little daughters have fun on the little rides. One of thw best County Fair I have been.

All year long tons of events. The big one every one knows is The San Diego County Fair, however they have much more. There are even shops and restaurants in the fair grounds that are open out side of event hours and on non event days. I love the mocas at the coffe shop on the second floor right side of the del mar tower whats nice is they are open every morning event or no event . stop by for the gem fair, the renaissance fair, the races, tons of music concerts, motor cross, the circus, California's largest haunted house in October, and Santas work shop in December

Great place for all ages and enjoyment types. Everything from Bonsai tree competitions to all out fair rides. Lots of exhibits, local businesses and art too!
But as are most fairs, not a cheap place to go. You can get discount tickets from Vons and Albertsons but you still have to pay for parking. $13!
Rides aren't cheap either. I only went on one ride and it cost about $8 in tickets.
4 stars for being a fun place to go but also quite expensive.

My first time attending, very impressed with the entire event. Staff very friendly, incredible rides with fast moving lines, exhibits were nice to visit, lots of various foods. The price was great. It was a great time at the fair.

I'm going to let you in on a secret: there are a ton of bathrooms with no lines. See a bathroom with a long line? Laugh at the people and go into the art exhibits. Go deep in, and there are many many stalls with no lines. People just don't know.

What fantastic entertainment. Couldn't believe what talent lurks around our fair. From singers, musicians, artists, farmers, livestock and more. Have a problem or wanting a special tree? Talk to the Master Gardner in the Garden exhibit be for you spend time & money. I love our fair!

3.5 stars - This year isn't as good as last year. I feel like there's more of a cash grab from the Fair. Now charging $5 for parking that used to be free. The rules for the Speakeasy bar is they require a purchase of a cocktail every 30 minutes. The fair themed foods this year were uninspired. The Wizard of Oz exhibit was a bit dark inside but had lots of interactive photo opportunities and historical info.

Didn t have enough money to get into Kaboo but my boyfriend and I went to listen to The Stone Temple Pilots on one day from across the river and could hear everything fine. The next day, we came back to check out Alice In Chains on a different stage. We were outside but much closer. We could see the screens so we could see the musicians doing their thing. It was great and free. Parking wasn t too much of a hassle. We had to walk a bit to get there. Had a great time! Will do it next year!

Parking is a grip unless you park on the street. We paid $10.00 dollars. Still a RIP off for public parking that should be free! I bought our tickets on Groupon for good price. At the entrance it's a RIP off. The atmosphere was nice. Not real crowed but still a lot of people for late Saturday evening. Food was good. It's a fun place for all ages.

Such a fun place to go. Very pricey but thats like all fairs. Huge selection of crazy fair foods. From large turkey legs, to bacon wrapped everything, to a buffalochicken chimichanga with hotcheetos, ro fried snickers and fried apple tacos. There is literally everything, even healthy options if you are dieting.
The rides are very expensive, so watch out and plan carefully if you have limited tickets.
If you are going multiple times, I would get the unlimited entries ticket along with the coupon book saver, especially if you come with kids. The book is only $5 and you get abunch of buy one get one free deals.
Also they have a bunch of shows for free. We stumbled upon a hypnosis show and it was hilarious!!!
Walking through the shopping part of the fair is dangerous, we almost bought a vacation, a new $100 shower head and a purple mattress amongst other things. They do have great deals, but I would go with a plan and a budget or else you will be spending so much!
Parking is cheap if you park at one of the sights and get a bus ride to the park for FREE. Its fast an convenient.
If you go on a $6 day there are tons of people but if you on a regular non discounted price day there are fewer people and you wont be hangry waiting in line for food.
The fair, in all, literally has something for everyone and you can get stuck there for hours and not realize the time has gone by. We had a blast and so will you!

Car show was great. Parking a bit pricey at 14$ and very few handicapped spots compared to size of lot. They run trams to the far parts of the lot which was nice for our weary feet after a long day of burnouts and hot rods.
