Very good event Prepare yourself because it is high cost, in the Games Zone. But this is great

Its great. Plenty to do, music, food, games, livestock;)
Cool place, great food, fun rides, dislike the new ticket system though; can't count tickets and plan too well, need to go to booth just to know how many you have
Let's be honest, it's the fair. If you're from SD, you know what you're in for. Tends to be hot, but you've got good fair food and good rides that'll threaten to undo your culinary adventure to help distract you. Parking sucks but it is what it is.
All the usuals. Exceptionally clean. Loses a star for having such a weak grandstand concert lineup this year
A total blast! We got the unlimited entry pass and we went at least once a week! Expensive but a lot of free stuff to do there! The theme is always awesome and always changes every year.
It seems that a lot of vendors have left and there really are not any new ones to make up for it. And the food prices keep climbing. I have been in sd since 1979 and have never missed the fair. We went to see Toby Kieth so we came early to see the fair/vendors/food. Sadly we usually go 2 or 3 times a year Not this year. just really not worth it!
Lots of things to do, expensive. Free rides from schools to fair grounds. Lots of exhibits. Cool hypnotist show, many exhibits. Friendly workers. Extremely Sad kids got sick this year from the animals and 1 child died.
Expensive! $13 for lunch, after paying $19 to get and not be able to smoke in a designated area that's easy to get in-out of... Yeah i don't think ill be back
Love to stay here, the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are nice, clean, and comfortable. Staff is attentive and courteous.
The fair is always fun. You can't go wrong with fair food or rides!
Always come here for the cinnamon rolls, although the metal detectors only give a false sense of safety and asking for ID for the monthly passes is laughable
Great place to go. Expect to spend money for everything.
I love the fair! So much to see and do!! We go every year!!
X Won 50 bucks on 10th race..spent it all on 1 round of 3 drinks....Marley was great,..lots of smoke in the air but it wasn't from the fires...
The sportsman & gun show is a blast !! No pun intended great food and specialty tools , had my gardening shovel sharpened by a pro for 2 bucks. Love it !!!!
Great fun for all every year, I go 3 or so times a year
Always love the fair! A family tradition of ours for over 35 years.
Came here for beer fest which was cool. A really old fashioned fair to go along with it.
The dinosaur tour was a disaster one it was too expensive to get in then you had to pay extra for the rides inside and the lines were 45 minutes to an hour long wait the kids were crying cause of the long lines never again will I bring the kids to this event
Yes, it was a big day at racing during the Pacific Classic, but parking operation/direction was complete mess
I never miss the Del Mar fair. It's huge, totally crowded, but fun for the family. The games are likely all rigged, the food is overpriced, and yet... 5 stars. It's a fair... and it's the best one I've ever been to. Go with an empty stomach and try some nasty, greasy, awesome food.
I visit the fair grounds regularly, I'm at the fair every year, gun shows at leat once a year, and I love the horse racing, opening day is an experience and the probably the busiest day of the racing season, but if your smart you'll get you a diamond club membership that way you'll have free parking for everything else except the horse racing and I also get fair tickets for 3 dollars, better sign up for that diamond club
Spent the day at the horse races. Another fun Padre event.
We go to the San Diego County Fair every year, mainly for the entertainment! Great place to see both oldies and the new kids. Good for families, lots of totally-bad-for-you (but tasty!) food, fun games, weird clothes, GREAT music and other entertainment...oh, and animals, too! This year, Toby Keith, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Smokey Robinson, just to name a few. The fair runs through July 4th.
Although I grew up in San Diego, this is the first time I've ever been! Lots of fun.
This is a typical regional fair. There is a wide variety of things to view be it local art competitions, various as seen on TV style vendors, random food, and livestock.
Reptile show. $15 for parkig, $7 admission. 2 dozen tables. Only half selling animals. Expensive animals.
My first time here. It seems to be slightly smaller than what I am used to with OC fair and the layout is a bit confusing. But overall we all have a wonderful time. We did park offside at the nearby horsepark with many shuttles to the fair, where several of them are double decker buses.
Wide variety of things to do and see. Our family especially enjoys the woodworking, gems, home and hobby and, of course, motorsports week! Yay for monster trucks, beach buggies, tuff trucks and the demolition Derby! Kids exhibiting animals with 4H is a great experience.
Great time. So much to see and do a great place to watch people go by.
Traffic sucks. Fair was OK but pricey. Exhibits could be better.
food has become very pricey despite using the value book, got two Turkey legs...onion rings...and ONE drink = $41 (with coupon)
otherwise, had a nice time
Best time and place to go to a fair wheater. In high 60
