San Diego County Fair Review

Fun sometimes just always so crowded. Good for one time visit and that s all. Way overpriced from parking to food to drinks to rides and games.

We came on a Saturday. ..wall to wall people! Maybe a week day would be less crowded. Parking was $15...they take credit. I had a coupon so entrance fee was $6....i would recommend finding one of these. Fair food is plentiful. ..we saw the candy exhibit , chickens and cows and a garden exhibit. We didn't even venture to the ride area. Lots of stuff to see and do.

No crowds. Whiskey Ridge band was great! The Wizard of Oz them3 was fun. Lotsa exhibits around that.

It took us a awhile to reach it because of car traffic..place was extremely expensive

Had the most awesome time!! 1st time ever attending this fair. Very impressed. Extremely clean, great food, easy parking, rides were like new and fun. Definitely going again next year. Don't miss out! Go!

The Del Mar Fair is ALWAYS GREAT! Lots of JUNK FOOD (and we actually found healthy food to eat) and the atmosphere is fun. This year I went with my twin sister and my 92 year old MOM! I would give almost everything at the Fair: five stars ... because there seems to be something for everyone. The one EXCEPTION would be for my mom who tires easily these days as she only uses a cane (refuses to use a walker or a wheelchair.) I was thinking perhaps a little cart might drive slowly up and down checking on "older folks" who might need a little ride to the parking lot handicapped section. It would have made for a perfect ending to an "expensive evening" (after all the games we played!)

It was the 19th Maguiar's Car Show and it was awesome as always.

So much fun, I had a blast planning to go again, when I get paid

Its always the same. Bands and animals are the best part.

1st day free parking & enter until 3pm every year,an all day event @the hanger tribute band Boingo Boingo a different set up from last year but you can still see the concert for free, what a fun day

Lots of fun things to do, yummy food to eat and interesting contributions to see. Especially loved the woodworking display. These people are amazing!

I go every year to the indoor swap meet portion an food vendors. Great products an food.

Prices are expectedly high but atmosphere is good. Note that lines for ride tickets are long and very slow. Something for everyone from rides to food to shopping and shows. Wear sunscreen because there is very little shade

Del Mar is the perfect place for the San Diego Fair

I hadn't been in years. My husband & I went for the food. It was interesting! We enjoyed the crowded, but friendly atmosphere. The food left a lot to be desired.

It's the fair...animals and food and rides and food and shopping and food and just in case you get hungry, food.

So much fun. Rides,food, and games, what more could you ask for.

Fun as always! Middle gate tends to have shorter entry lines.

We have so much fun every year! Good music and great food!

First time being here and my first concert I got a Groupon to see the cult it was a great concert that band outstanding still he dropped some of his lyrics but wasn't a big deal he has a great voice and the band can play very well I had good seats in the back it worked out for me very well I have social anxiety and the seats not too many people where there I bought an overpriced band shirt to help out the band I'd see them again live great band and I liked walking around the fair it was pretty cool.i ran into and older gentleman who was a Dio fan and liked my Dio band shirt .

Great show. Needs shuttle for aged attendants from parking to competition area...

Not the cleanest place. Best time to come is on weekdays since it gets too full on weekends.

Ufff very tired we finished, but we passed and enjoyed an excellent afternoon.

You can have lots of fun in the county fair. Kids will enjoy to the core. More variety of activities are there. You can munch on a few snacks and enjoy it fully.

Worth for tickets paid.

More parking space is available. Restrooms were there and partially good.

Always a must to visit the fair at least once when it is in town. Food can be expensive and ride tickets are pricey, but the expos are fun to walk around

It was fun as usual, had cheese curds and a corn dog. Not to happy with the change of hours, it now opens at 11am instead of 10am, not happy with the new change. I have no idea why they changed the hours but I do hope they change it back.

A great time time! Fun for all. Fair rides, games, interesting shops, shows, music, and food!

We come here several times during the month the fair is in town. Games are rigged in my opinion but still a good outing with the family.

Always a treat to go here...thank goodness it only comes once a year! : )

Drove by to go see the horse races, and met new men there as well, and had a le'Bonton.

Slightly Stoopid that performed on stage was totally awesome but the way the fair people have it set up completely sucks there's no seating whatsoever and parking was almost a mile away and we had to walk and that totally sucks especially after a long concert .

I loved it, great place to spend with family or friends, the food is not great, but you're gonna have fun.

I really enjoyed the festivities that take place on the fairgrounds. Weather it is the fair that happens in July weather Beerfest that happens in August you can always go and bet on a horse.

It would have been nice to visit, if we could have caught the shuttle from hose park. Not acceptable to have a half mile long line of people standing in the sun waiting for the only two shuttles running, to return. We got tired of waiting and left. Good thing I didnt pay for the parking. Thank you for wasting my gas and time. I most likely won't come next year.

My kids and I go every year and it is a great tradition but we only go in the morning and leave mid day so we do not get caught in the crowds.

First time going since I moved here I. 1995. Had a blast

A great time for all ages! We hung out and drank some beers while listening to a band then went to the pig races! Get there early for a good seat! The carnival rides looked really fun! We'll be back for sure!

The fair is always fun and worth checking out. There's classic fair food, rides, and games. Tickets are priced as you'd expect, but overall it's not super expensive. Parking is easy enough ($20) and a quick walk from the venue. The fairgrounds are easy to walk around in, have plenty of cool things to see, and lots of easily accessible bathrooms. There's always new types of food to try, so come hungry.

Lots to do and see, fun for the whole family! Would like to see a "greener" fair with lest waste and more environmentally friendly booths etc. This fair is huge you probably need a couple days to really take it in. Independence day was rad... great . Parking was a NIGHTMARE! How many years has this been going on, why haven't they figured out effective and efficient parking ? I've been to bigger events, that were better organized with parking directions, IN & OUT. We spent over 2 hrs waiting to get out of the parking lot!

Great food, lots of games for the kids and even adults! Alot of walking but also alot too see and explore.

This year's theme is candyland. Family fun and good for all ages, from games, rides, and sales everywhere. It's easy to lose track of time here. On top of that it's in beautiful San Diego.

Seriously expensive. Either offer free parking and rides, or drop the entry fee. Place is way to expensive!

Almost 1 hour to park. Food was very bad, and incredibly expense. No places to sit. Nice people working there, but they did not really know anything. They gave us wrong and conflicting information.

The fair was great, unfortunately getting there sucked, it took us three hours to get from Carmel mountain to via de la Valle.

It's a friendly Place beautiful view close to the ocean and people were very very nice

Last year's theme was so much better. They were trying to charge 26.00 and change for a bacon wrapped Turkey leg. Tripping!!! Whole lot of NOPE for me! Quite boring theme too. They could have done more!

It is a Fourth of July spectacular event that lasts all through June.
