Local watering hole. I enjoyed my visit. Sat at the bar. The clam chowder looks a little crazy, but it tasted good. The fish & chips were great.

Great fish sandwich and clam chowda. Good portions too
Great location and attentive service, but food left much more to be desired. Their clam chowder was very heavy on the Dill, I didn't care for it. Nachos missed the mark and were soggy, although the portion size was large. Honestly, I wouldn't return.
Fantastic clam chowder and the fish dinner was incredible.
Chowder was amazing. Got the lobster roll (meh) and steak/shrimp (again, meh). A little overpriced for the food quality but the atmosphere was great being on the water and our bartender was awesome.
The owner Jamie was very hospitable. The food was so seafood fresh and.the portions were hige. We ate there 2 days in a row. I would visit Boston again just to eat food at The Sail Loft .
Stopped in and was skeptical about trying a new place as everyone has the "Best" clam chowder in Boston. Ordered the Clam Chowder cup, 8oz, as opposed to the bowl,12oz, and was filled up. Delicious, will definitely come back when in town.
Best lobster roll/calamari I've ever had. Lively atmosphere and friendly staff. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend this place!
Classic vibe with good food, good views and good service. Whether or not this is the best in Boston I can't answer, but it was excellent. I am particular and grew up in a commercial fisheries family so am disappointed with seafood 9 times out of 10 - not here. Clam chowder was thick, creamy, generous with clams and served nice and warm. Not over salted and the dill and potato balanced the clams well. Smooth and not goopy nor watery. Lobster roll was generous with well-cooked, firm and sweet lobster meat chunks. Fried seafood was crispy yet tender and melt in your mouth. Not greasy and you can tell they change the oil regularly. Cod, scallops and belly clams in particular were among the best I've had - melt in your mouth, yet firm, speaking to the freshness and way it's handled carefully. Even the French fries and coleslaw were delicious - usually afterthoughts but not here. Boston cream pie was firm yet smooth, not gritty. If I was gonna be particular I'd probably prefer it with ice cream to whipped cream, but that's more personal preference. To top it off, it's not crazy expensive, and did I mention the staff are attentive? Coursing was well paced, I never felt rushed nor ignored. Definitely recommend for the wharf area and would go back for more.
This is my favorite spot! I been there quite few times! I go there any chance I get to show my friends visiting Boston!!! Must have the clamchowder soup with the dill!
My first Boston lobster experience. It s quite a sport.
Took a buddy of mine last week for dinner. The views are amazing. Food is good but could use a little update on the menu at some items are old-fashioned. Would have liked to see more of the farm to table influence that Boston is experiencing
Consistently excellent seafood. And a great burger.
I have been trying to go here, but the wait on weekends has been quite long. I finally found myself in the area on a Monday afternoon and had a wonderful experience.
The highlight of the meal was the chowder. Thick and delicious, it was some of the best chowder I have had in my life! For only $7, it is definitely worth it! I will definitely order this again.
I shared the fried fisherman's platter which had batter that was not as crispy as I would have liked, but it was good nonetheless. With 4 people, getting 4 bowls of chowder and the fisherman's platter was plenty of food. However, we each were really ambitious and ordered a lobster each! (We had a lot of leftover fried seafood at the end of this all)
The single lobster with mussels was also delicious. If you're craving seafood, this is the place to go without breaking the bank! It hit the spot!
On the water,service was good,had california wrap,ok
The chowder here is amazing! I was told to come here because they had the best Clam chowder in Boston, and it did not disappoint. I can't say I've tried the chowders around Boston, so I can't compare, but compared to chowder in general this was amazing. The staff was friendly and I didn't have too much of a wait. The atmosphere is nice since you're right in the pier. It's also situated near or in the North End so you're close to Italian pastries if that's your thing (even though the desserts here looked great too). Prices are about what I'd expect being in Boston and for seafood, a little pricey but compared to similar restaurants it's pretty reasonable. I highly recommend this place, especially if you have an out-of-towner looking for good Boston chowder
Highly overrated! Clam appetizer was good but a little expensive for what it was. The baked scrod special was not cooked...while the restaurant took it off the bill, this says alot about the kitchen. Manager never came over to apologise either.
Overall experience was excellent! The staff was absolutely amazing, very nice people! The food was delicious and there wasn't a long wait for the food to come out after ordering! Definitely can't wait to go back!
Great food. We had the lobster roll and the fish and chips. We topped it off with a Boston Cream Pie which was delicious. It's a fun location too - on the water.
Crowded, but helpful staff found us a table quickly. Taco Salad was great as was Boston's Best fish and chips.
Highly recommended. The food was great, service was prompt and you cant beat the location. The clam chowder is some of the best you can find in Boston.
Best lobster Mac and cheese I have ever had. We went back for a second night, it is that good.
Best lobster in town. Excellent food and reasonable prices.
Best fresh, did I say fresh fish in Boston. Fish and chips are to die for, our friends have ordered the seafood platter which has amazed them and everyone says the clam chowda is out of this world. The only place you will find oreos at the bar, ya not pretzels oreos by the cookie jar. Cool place to eat, very reasonable and we almost always come home with leftovers and for my hubby to bring leftovers home that tells you they not only give quantity but quality otherwise we wouldn't be bringing it home. Enjoy
We started with their wonderful oh amazing clam chowder, which I think it was even better than the Bay area in San Francisco minus the sour dough, but definatly love the dill part in it, it was served in a coffee mug over floating with all that love, my God it was so yummy, nd so recommended!!!Then we ordered the calamri and they were supper fresh and amazing!!
Good food, good service, good price. Good work. They won us as a loyal customer.
I really enjoyed their Sunday Brunch deal. A delicious lobster omelette with perfectly cooked veggies!
Chowder and clams were excellent. Will definitely be back.
I have been here a couple times. Great place for seafood and Sam Adams.
Wonderful service. Great view! Delicious lobster roll! Put this place on your itinerary.
A great little find on the water!! friendly staff and amazing food!!
Food is mediocre. Wine was mediocre. And service was mediocre
Smelly. Dirty small bathrooms. Overpriced seafood. Just go to legal seafood a few mins walk away.
Definitely well-deserved title of having Boston's best clam chowder. Also, a terrific view.
We called to make reservations for 8pm on a Saturday night, they said they werent taking reservations so we decided to go there any way and wait..So we Lyft to the place and when we arrived we were actually seated right away. This little gem is located right on the water.!
The place was very loud, our waiter was the sweetest, and truly very helpful.

We also ordered one full lobster with muscles. And one half lobster with pasta and all the seafood friends (muscles, shrimp, scallops and calamari) done to perfection!!!
Place was amazing, service was amazing and the food was superb!!! Thank you Boston for having such a wonderful place!
Fabulous fresh seafood at great prices with a brilliant view to top it!
My friends all love this place but I don't know why. I find it crowded, loud, slow, and without enough choices other than deep-fat-fried...
While visiting Boston I heard I had to try this place. I definitely wasn't disappointed! The roll and chowder was great. It was only a plus my waiter was from my home state of Florida and he was great too! Drinks were delightful and I finished with the largest shot of Patron ever lol.
Second time I have come here on one of my visits to Boston. Still delicious wirh good drinks. Got clam chowder and lobster roll both times. Place is inviting, warm, and overall just a pleasant experience.
The service was awesome, the waitress was very helpful. The clam chowder was exceptional and we loved our fish with lobster sauce. The mashed potatoes were delicious! Great place!
Very nice restaurant by the sea, the dishes are delicious (especially the clam chowder) and the setting is pleasant!
tasty food. Slightly crowded. Recommended for seafood lovers.
Fantastic experience. Servers were enthusiastic and helpful.
Delicious food and drinks. And it's great being right on the water. Can get pretty packed during peak times.
The clam chowder tasted like microwaved cream with cream cheese. Food very bland. Fish and chips cooked in what tasted like old oil. Scallops, market price, seemed fresh. Veges and bread were good. Place clean and inviting.
I loved the atmosphere, foods and wines they serve.
Great portions of classic Boston cuisine. Great location. Fun place for a meal. Kid friendly
Service and food were fantastic! Even had a portable ramp for wheelchair access into the restaurant.
Great service, delicious food, best birthday desert!!!
Amazing food and friendly staff. Ate here for lunch and got the mussel appetizer and Thursday combo plate. The mussel plate was gigantic and so was the combo plate. Both were delicious. The staff was very friendly and quick with food and service. Highly recommended!
Manny is a good guy. Accidentally added a tip when it was already included. He let us know! What a nice waiter!
Great food at a decent price. Especially compared to other food in Boston.
Loved the atmosphere, service, and the lobster mac & cheese was amazing! Thanks Boston Sail Loft!
Delicious, fresh seafood; prompt, courteous service; reasonably priced.
Great service, delicious food, and had a lovely view while enjoying my food. Love this place!
Quaint place, if a little rough around the edges. Great Boston Club sandwich and good selection of beers.
Loved the atmosphere. Clam chowder was great. I got the broiled scallops. They tasted good, but unfortunately were a bit soggy.
Amazing representation of my hometown. Great layout, atmosphere and best yet... Food. Clam Chowder was good, Lobster Mac and Cheese was phenomenal and the Scrod is awesome!! Priced very very reasonably. I love this place and obviously will be back.. and sending everyone i know in boston here. 1000000/10 A++
The place is unpretentious and the food is outstanding.
Wonderful place do not miss the clam chowder soup. Very friendly casual. Super bar
We booked this restaurant while out of state because we were going to be in town that weekend. It was not what we expected as it was much more casual. Food was okay but nothing special. Service was good. Clam chowder was super thick like it should be. The halibut entree was good but not spectacular. When back in Boston, I personally will look elsewhere. There are too many great options to return here.
My family and I love visiting Boston! We love seafood and found this place and OMG! They aren t wrong, best clam chowder ever! The staff were super friendly. I felt very comfortable as they followed the guidelines and had acrylic cubical type of set up inside the restaurant. Everyone wore there masks properly, clean place, clean bathrooms. The portions were great and our server was very attentive and great prices! I can t wait to go to Boston and for sure stopping by here again! Thank you Boston Sail Loft for a great experience!
Superb service, great chowder and seafood! What lobster! Everybody was friendly on a crowded Friday.
Went at 12pm and it was a great surprise ! We tried the lobster roll for the first time in US and it was really good. Woman who served us was really kind and professional ! Recommended 100%
