The food was amazing !! Would recommend to a friend
Amazing place. Great views, service was quick and diligent. The lobsters are to die for.
Great service. Owner is on the floor welcoming guests and managing the floor with a great deal of professionalism and kindness. Makes all the difference. There can be a little wait to get seated but that is to be expected given the excellent reputation of the venue and the wait is worth it. Menu is very well priced and quality is clearly there. A must do when visiting the area. And we have kids and felt really welcomed by the staff. Loved it
Reasonable price. I was very satisfied with lobster!! Strongly recommend!
Burgers and clam chowder are the must eats. Nice harbor view and good strolls around the area after eating. Gets crowded with locals during what would be happy hour times.
Reliable service, great food although the chowder has gotten a little lumpy:( spectacular views.
I loved this restaurant directly on the water. In addition, some employees speak French !!
Found this great little place while visiting the aquarium. The staff was very friendly and the food was excellent! My daughter's Mac and cheese was to die for, my salad was great!
Only came for drinks. Enjoyed the views. It felt like they were trying to push us out around 9 PM which is still early.
Best clam chowder to ever exist! Love the atmosphere and the waitstaff is friendly and attentive. One of my favorite restaurants to go to!
Was told there was a 20 minute wait, so I put my name and phone number down. We waited for almost an hour without being seated. They seated other people that arrived after we did. We left, and they still never called to let me know that our table was ready.
Interior needs renovations; lobster was tasteless and disappointing; seafood platter was very good and plentiful; excellent service. Next visit to BOS, I'd try a different seafood restaurant.
Was there a few years ago on vacation. Very friendly staff, very good food, very reasonable prices.
This place is an awesome bar. Long bar with water views provides and excellent location for a delightful meal and stimulating conversation. On the outskirts of the historic north end it's great for a start or end of the night. Great beer selection. Great wine selection. And liquor. Friggin awesome chowda.
Awesome stop on an afternoon on the water. Great staff and service and delicious food.
During the week we spent in Boston, we went here twice. The food was great! You have to try the clam chowder. Prices were reasonable and the service was great! Still have two days left, so there is a good chance we'll be back! must try!
Walked in and immediately felt unwelcome. The host looked at us and said nothing- no greeting, no acknowledgement whatsoever. Decided to order something to go due to time constraints. Ordered a cup of clam chowder and the half and half plate. The cup of clam chowder was tiny and the amount seemed smaller than what I've seen in pictures from other reviews. The chowder was good but I can't say I was blown away. The portion for the half and half plate was smaller than expected . Taste was a bit bland but that's what the lemon and tartar sauce are for.
Hidden in plain sight, been several times and it never disappoints!
I should have wrote this a year ago when I came to eat here. Some of the best food I have had and this is coming from a chef. I thought of this place and I never left a review. Anyways AWESOME lobster roll, slaw, and mac. One of the highlights of visiting your beautiful city!
Great lunch and large portions. Can't wait to visit again!
Delicious, plentiful food. Truly friendly and helpful staff. Nice customers to boot.
Very good restaurant I quite like the food the seasoning is very good I had never tried spaggetti because as a child I tried in a school and it made me vomit and I tried in this restaurant and its flavor was something passable I thought I would not like it but in the end I taste
Impecable flavors in each bite, well composed. Unique flavor combinations and wine pairing was on point.
One of the best seafood places we ate at in this area. Definitely recommend the clam chowder, some of the best I have had. The staff was very friendly and personable. The environment was nice and laid back. Overall we really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant.
No-frills family seafood restaurant on a wharf that randomly turns into a college bar at night. Get the lobster mac and cheese; it's basically the meat from an entire lobster baked into some of the most delicious mac and cheese you've ever tasted, complemented by a side salad with real bits of crispy bacon. All this for $19!
Excellent combination appetizer. The soft shell crab sandwich had a little too much bread which took from the crab flavor.
Just great sea foods with fair prices.
The Clam Chowdar is great - must try.
Highly enjoyed our visit to the Boston Sail Loft! Enjoyed a wonderful lunch of fish and chips and their famous clam chowder. Both were wonderful. The atmosphere is cute and the views of the sailboats and harbor are fantastic. Would definately recommend a stop at this restaurant to anyone looking for a great seafood lunch.
Very economically priced for its location. Good food good staff.
Very reasonable prices given the location. Great atmosphere and food.
Really nice place, we had lobster and it was really good. The service was okay, waiters were too much busy though.
Great low key seafood and bar on the water. Busy everytime I've been here. Can draw a college crowd.
I bit expensive for the general overall experience. However, the food quality is top notch and the quality is huge.
Food was amazing and portions were huge. You could taste the freshness, the restaurant is on the water. Staff was great. Saw a unicorn boat, so that is also neat lol.
Really good food at a surprisingly afordable price for boston. I highly recommend the clam chowder.
We had a party of 7 that they seated quickly. The service was excellent as was the food. Their fish n chips was outstanding! I would happily visit Boston Sail Loft again.
The food was not great Micheal also had the worst attitude wont be coming back
Came into town for a few hours and was able to set at the bar facing the harbor... bartending staff was extremely prompt and very helpful and informative not with only the menu but also history in the area... I am from California and have been very spoiled by Monterey California clam chowder but tonight, I was very impressed... ordered the special of a full Lobster which came on a bed of about 40 steamed clams. Excellent!!! My friend ordered the lobster roll and it had as much or more Lobster on the role than my whole lobster hahaha.. I will definitely be back.
Enjoyed a great and reasonably priced dinner here. We had the caIaamari appetizer, a delicious broiled seafood platter and my husband had fish and chips. We enjoyed the waterfront view and had great service even though it was very busy. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic food, fast service, and a great view! What more could you ask for?
Nothing fancy, and that's exactly what I love about it. Great food for a great price.
Tasty signature Boston dishes. The fried clams and the clam chowder were very good. Atmosphere was pleasant and the prices weren't outrageous.
Tried seafood for the first and was pleased with the food. Had the lobster Mac n cheese, fish and chips and calm chowder. Very rich but very creamy and filling.
Amazing service!!! Extremely delicious food and very big portions!!! Great atmosphere!!! Nice view!!! Totally recommend!!!
Jillian, the bartender, was so nice & welcoming on this snow day in Boston. Will definitely be back for cocktails!!
The best clam chowder and unbelievable lobster ever. Great atmosphere and delightful staff.
If you want some traditional bostonian food, this is the place you wanna eat at! Beautiful view, friendly staff and delicious food!
One of the best chowders I ve ever had! Place was packed solid when we got there but always a good sign for fresh food. Great quality overall but found the prices comparative to the area which all seemed inflated due to the high tourism. Service was really friendly and seemed very organized especially with the volume of guests coming in. As I said one of the best chowders with this incredible fresh dill that played well off the other ingredients. Certainly worth a visit.
Location and views are amazing. We went for dinner and were seated at a table adjacent to the bartenders working area next to the bar, despite there only being a handful of people at the restaurant. The staff did move us to another table at our request. The food was good, but i will probably not eat dinner here again. This would be a great place for mingling and cocktails in the summer months.
Cool location, excellent clam chowder and good lobster roll. Very packed and noisy venue.
Rock solid seafood option. 100% get the clam chowder. You can, and should, get you lobster roll warm with butter. Views are nice. Service very good. Worth the wait.
This was my first time eating clam chowder that wasn't from a can. The taste was great, but it was extra thick. The lobster rolls were great.
Oh my...the chowder was soooo yummy! Lots of dill and an overflowing portion. Delicious!
Service was a little slow sometimes but friendly. I was ready to be underwhelmed by the "Boston's best clam chowder" but I gotta say, it's definitely one of the best. It's dangerous how good it is... Everything else was also tasty but the chowder was the highlight for me.
Decent food and beer selection but very cramped space
This is a top notch off the beaten path seafood place. I like to think locals go here and it is not so touristy and plus it s family owned for 30+ years - we ve been every trip in 25 years! Great water views.
Don't expect anything elaborate or fancy, and this will become one of your favorite quasi dives in Boston.
Amazing view of harbor. Super fast service. Best clam chowder in Boston. Cant wait to come back!
Went late at night, with the kitchen still open, but was made to feel by our server like we shouldn t have ordered food. I ve made mussels once - I tried to cook mussels a second time but accidentally killed them all trying to keep them alive, so that tells you everything you need to know about my inexperience cooking mussels - and the sauce I made was about ten times better than the sauce in our mussels served here. Chowder was good. But that was the only dish that was worth our money.
Excellent place for an afternoon lunch! Food was great and the service was spot on.
Amazing seafood! Just eat here, you won't regret it.
Best place to go for a beer while you're still dressed in foul weather gear. Chowder and sandwiches also great!
Awesome restaurant, highly recommend coming here! Great location and views, great food, and decent prices for the area.
Food and service was excellent. The lobster roll, seafood linguine and clam chowder were absolutely amazing. However, I will say I felt a bit rushed. My boyfriend and I had come all the way from VA and chosen here as our last dinner while in town. We made a reservation for 6, but got there a little past 5:30. As the hostess was seating us she said there was a 12 top for 6:30 and seemingly asked if we would be awhile. We ended up boxing our food because we felt like they needed the seating, and I had to rush to finish my drink. I ve worked in restaurants for years so I understand they needed the space, but under an hour for us to have appetizers, drinks and a main course is Not enough time. Otherwise the food and atmosphere was phenomenal
I ordered a pasta and a clam chawder. I love the clam chawder most here! And the location was just beside of a river, so if I visited in the afternoon, it could be moe romantic.
