Quaint local seafood restaurant off the beaten path of the typical touristy spots. Grab a harpoon IPA on the small outdoor patio overlooking the harbor while waiting for your table. Amazing seafood, you can t go wrong here. Large potions of lobster in the lobster roll. My favorite clam chowder in the city- chowder is thick with lots of dill and large pieces of clam and potato. It s brought to you overflowing in a mug. A must try for a true taste of Boston.

Small out of the way place on the Boston Waterfront. Great views of the water. A good selection of standard seafood options (clam chowder, calamari, etc) and standard American fare. The food is neither bad or outstanding. Good prices, ok beer and wine selection. Go here if you want decent food at a decent price with a good view and no crowds.

A nice place to get food near harbor. their fries were crunchy and delicious. Decent number of sandwiches to offer. Went out with colleagues for company dinner. My co-worker said the mac and cheese with crabs was delicious. The staff is pretty attentive. Though mine and my another colleagues order was served incorrectly which is not a big deal as we were like 35 people..

Food is excellent and staff is nice. I really like the dill in the chowder.

Very good fish and chips and Lobster ravioli, good size portions. Waitress and owner very nice to talk to. Enjoyed the view also.

This place was definitely worth trip. They really know what they're doing! Everything we had was delicious! The lobster mac and cheese is the real deal. It was stuffed with so much lobster. We also had Boston's best fish and chips fried Golden brown to perfection. Next time I'm in Boston I'll be at the Boston Sail Loft! By the way they have some the best clam chowder you've ever tasted!

My non-white friend and I were trying to get into this bar and were not allowed in. My friend and I stood by and watched 8 white girls stumble into this place. I will never come back to this place and if I were you, I would not come here

Cozy, comfy and delish.

The seafood smell grabs you once you open the door. The squeaky door and floorboards remind you of earlier days and the warm friendly staff make you want to stay.
The white noise sounds of the other guests add to the sense of being in a familiar place. Where you'll always order a refreshing beer and a warm, overflowing cup of chowda (that's my Minnesotan version of the Boston accent!)
The food arrives fresh, warm, in a timely manner, but most importantly, with a smile. You'll gaze out over the water as the rest of your senses are tickled and then you find yourself sneaking a peak at that dessert menu, even though you know there are Oreos at the bar....
After some laughs, second (or third) thoughts in regards to dessert, you'll make your way out. But not before waving goodbye and grabbing another Oreo for the walk outside .

I have a personal mobility device that I use to get around. It s no bigger than a skateboard and the owner (or) manager refused to let me inside with it. I ve taken this thing in hundreds of bars and restaurants with no issues. Thanks for the hospitality!

The cup of clam chowder is piping hot, a meal in itself. A+ My son ordered the lobster mac-n-cheese. It had big lumps of lobster with a rich, creamy sauce and a toasted bread crumb topping. A+ Husband ordered a lobster and it was a decent size with a decent price. I had a lobster roll. Again, big chucks of meat, light mayo and a toasted bun. Spot on. A+ Our waiter was super attentive despite the place being packed. Can't beat the waterfront table view. The place was hopping, not a place for intimate conversations, but friendly, happy atmosphere. I'd come back again.

The best tasting seafood and chowder in Boston. It's better than Legal's and is a whole lot fresher!

All the reviews say best clam chowder in Boston! which made me very excited. But it was simply ok. They put LOTS of DILL in the clam chowder, which i ve never seen before and no one mentioned in the reviews. It worked, but was still weird. The waitstaff is very nice, and the food is enjoyable. Just be weary about the amount of dill in the chowder.

Try the clam chowder. They are famous for it. Hint: it has dill seasoning in it.

The food is pretty good. Not a fan personally of their chowder but everything else I tried was decent. Reasonably priced and a decent place to grab a casual meal.

This place was my first true Boston sea food experience, and it held up to the hype.

Oh and the food is fantastic too.

This is my first time here to celebrate his 30th birthday. It was not bad but not perfect. Food is great but service is slow and the server did not visit tables more often. That s why I only give 3 stars to this place. Also, The atmosphere was pretty loud we sometime could not hear each other talking. The view from my table was nice because I see the harbor. Thus, I m not sure if i would come back next time. If you like to enjoy the loud atmosphere with a group of friends, this is the place. But if you prefer more classy and quiet environment, you should pick something else.

The best lobster roll I ever had. Giant meaty chunks with a very light dressing of EVO. Fries were just ok. I would recommend this place.

Best chowder in Boston! Great atmosphere, wonderful and nice servers and just the best way to start out our trip! Will be back!

Amazing restaurant with a great view. Great food too. I loved the salmon and eggs dish With vegetables instead of fries. I loved their healthier food choices as an option. The view is great from the restaurant. It s always crowded so be on the lookout for busy times as it is hard to have the view in peak hours. Completely recommend it.

Great atmosphere, the restaurant is fairly small so reservations help. Everything we ordered came out quickly and tasted great. The clam chowder was some of the best I have had and the lobster roll was heaped with fresh lobster. I would recommend this to anyone visiting the area.

Not worth the money. Decent chowder but the fisherman s platter we ordered had more potatoes than seafood which wasn t even mentioned on the menu. Don t recommend this place.

Try the seafood diablo dish! Quite the generous helping of clams, shrimp, scallops and a half lobster! The clam chowder is also quite tasty. The chowder is filling though, easily share the bowl with 2-3 people as an appetizer.

Visited again and this place just dishes out amazing food. You have to try the clam chowder and mussels. Fish and chips were excellent. Try anything.

Fish and chips is lackluster. The batter is lacking crisp and freshness. Lobster roll is ok. Too sweet but good amount knuckle and meat. Don't get the mixed veggies, so greasy. The chowder has too much dill and bland. Can't taste the clams.

Good drinking spot, can get crowded and really loud.

The bar sits on the wharf. I got to charge my phone and enjoy a local beer next to the water and ships.

Food was great. Service was a little slow but they were busy.

Not sure how to rate this - if you go at a certain time, you can have a good seafood meal if you are looking for lobster/fried everything/chowder. If you attempt to go at night, you will find a sea of rich, trust fund, douchy people trying to "slum it" for the night. Its obnoxious, but if you want to brag about your boat, latest investment or house at the Hamptons, then pull on your Nantucket reds or Lilly dresses, slip into your loafers or Lilly flip flops, and go to town.

Came here from Michigan and was not disappointed. The service was great everything came out quick. The clam chowder lived up to it's reputation from other reviews. Fresh fish is way different than the frozen/shipped fish we get in Michigan.

I really enjoyed this place. Service was excellent and so was the food. We began it meal with some clan chowder. I followed that with some delicious Buffalo tenders. My wife & son enjoyed the Portofino seafood mix and my daughter enjoyed the scrod. They also had a few TVs to enjoy the NFL's opening weekend. A good restaurant all around.

Amazing atmosphere and view of the waterfront. Ordered their lobster roll and a clam chowder and it was very tasty and filling! Good service, slightly higher price though (~60 for 2 people).

Best meal I had while visiting Boston! Huge plates and fair pricing. Unbelievably delicious and wait staff was friendly, professional and attentive!

Phenomenal food, everything is so flavorful and fresh from the ocean. It's definitely loud in there and very crowded so if you don't mind either of those things this is a great place to go!

My wife and I had lunch at the Boston Sail Loft and it was a fantastic experience! The owner and founder stopped by and chatted with us. The service was friendly, fast and overall exceptional.
They have the best seafood chowder you'll ever have!
We will definitely come back on our next visit to Boston.

Would not recommend this place for a white table cloth dinner. Fried seafood seems to be the specialty, crowded, noisy, average fair at best.

This place is a gem! The clam chowder is to die for. Be advised, they stay crowded, my husband and I went I'm around 4 on a Sunday and they were packed with a wait. We opted to sit at the bar, when 2 seats opened up. Also, they have bread they serve with steamed mussels that is so good. We actually asked for more to go with our chowder instead of the crackers.

The hands-down best fried fish sandwich in Boston. Locals know this place is where to go for seafood in downtown - affordable, family owned, friendly service, and all in an interesting historic building.

The view is good next to the sea. There are a lot of fried foods in seafood. Service is a bit slow

I came here a little over a year ago for the first time and was returning to Boston and this was high on my list of places to return to! The food is great! Wonderful seafood especially! If I lived closer I would come more often! Two thumbs up!

We really enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. This is one of the best seafood places we ate at in this area. The staff was very friendly and personable.

Outstanding restaurant, with a great staff. Every time we visit Boston we have to eat here. The staff makes you feel like family. We haven't even talked about the food yet, the best seafood in Boston. Clam chowder out of this world, lobster roll is perfect and the lobster mac n cheese, yes please. The chowder is to die for and now I want to put dill on everything I eat. Everything!

Very busy, although we were sat quicker than expected, the wait for food was very long and the restaurant was full of loud families with kids. Very family friendly, but not great for a quiet dinner.
