Wonderful place, lovely staff, nice fried seafood (we got the fisherman's platter and it was really good), enormous portions (you can easily share the platter with two), reasonable prices and very nice ambiance!

The Lobster roll was really good and the clam chowder was amazing. The bowl is very big and the kids are that instead of the kids meal and my husband and I shared a bowl and Lobster roll. There was plenty of food.

I ordered a "lobster and shrimp pasta" and it was very watery like a soup. The portion was generous but it was bland. Moreover, although the shrimps looked good, they were not fresh. Overall, very disappointed and not worth $25.

One of my favorite places to eat when coming back to Boston...top foods to order have to be the Chowder, Lobster Roll and all time favorite their buffalo chicken wrap/sandwich all washed down by a nice Rum swizzle...place always has a lively atmosphere and the staff is extremely friendly...whether you are looking for a feast or some drinks after work the sail loft will never let you down...and do not forget to grab an Oreo on your way out!

Great service and cute patio. Portions were awesome, but my food didn't come out as expected. Love that they are known for their jar of oreos, and have still continued to pass out packages of them with meals.

We wanted to dine at a restaurant by the water, but that also had Covid protocols in place and spacious seating. This restaurant definitely took protocols seriously. We had a view of the harbor and were comfortably socially distanced. The service was wonderful. Food was excellent! I had the fish n chips and my boyfriend had the seafood pasta. Large portions, great flavor, cooked perfectly and delicious!! They tout they have Boston's best clam chowder, and they deserve it! The best clam chowder we've had. We recommend and will definitely be back!

Had the clam chowder and lobster role. Best clam chowder I ever had and the lobster role was over flowing with lobster. Also note that 2 managers came by to make sure everything was good. This place has amazing food and care about their customers. If I lived here it would be my regular place.

Got a recommendation from a friend to check this place out and I have to tell you, they did not disappoint. The chowda is absolutely delicious and they add their signature dill to it for a little love. I chose the fish and chips; and talk about stuffed afterwards... For the most part, the staff was friendly and overall, it was a good experience. Out the door with a beer, chowder and the meal, $30.

It's a great place to go for your Seafood it's also less expensive than most other restaurants in the neighborhood. It's more of a neighborhood restaurant and not a big chain. The food was great and plentiful

This place has stolen my heart. I was in Boston for a few days and ended up coming here twice. First and foremost: the location and place itself are so cute, and the view is gorgeous!

Its always packed so expect to find a line at peak hours - but it will still be bearable so don t give up cause it s definitely worth the wait. I ve tried a couple different chowders, but this to me takes the crown of best chowder in Boston. Love the added dill and the overflowing serving in a mug. Thick, filled with clams and oh so addictive, you ll def come back for more - also expect random cravings for it to come once you ve tasted it.

If that wasn t enough to convince you, everything on the menu is simply amazing: the scrod was cooked to perfection, and so fresh!

The lobster roll was packed with meat and an absolute bargain, considering it s less than 26$ for a huge roll.

We also tried the steamed lobster on a bed of mussels and oh my: it was freakin awesome!

We went back on our last night and besides getting more chowder (the first time we got one and after our first bite we ordered another one), we tried the fisherman s platter: scallops, whole belly clams, cod, shrimp, and calamari on a bed of fries, all lightly battered and fried to crisp perfection. The scallops were the best (but everything was in a league of its own) - super juicy and sweet, we could have each eaten a dozen of those alone.

This will definitely become a tradition every time we re in Boston, it has 100% become our place . If they added fresh oyster as an appetizer I seriously wouldn t even need to go anywhere else

So if you re in Boston and you re looking for the best clam chowder and delicious fresh seafood, look no further and make your way here ASAP!

I've been going to the Sail Loft for about 20 years. My mom and I stumbled on it by chance one Saturday when she was visiting me in grad school. It was pre-Yelp and smartphones, so we had stopped a local Northender near Hanover Street and asked her to recommend a seafood restaurant. To this day her pick Sail Loft is my personal #1 choice for Baked Scrod (buttery Ritz cracker topped, fish flesh so fresh it melts in your mouth) and Lobster Roll (all claws and tail meat). Service is quick and attentive and the view is killah. Sail Loft is a real keeper.

Amazing experience! My girlfriend and I went here on a recommendation from a local and we were not disappointed. We shared the lobster with mussels and it was absolutely on point! It was also the cheapest place around for a good lobster. Around the restaurant other peoples dishes looked unreal! The lobster mac n cheese and the lobster roll were huge! It's right on the water so the view cannot be beat and the hospitality was amazing. They even have a cookie jar filled with oreos for when you leave!

Three stars at best only for the chowder. The bread for the lobster roll was stale and the lobster meat lacked flavor. Great atmosphere to drink, but don t come here unless you want bar food.

We were exploring Boston on a cold autumn/fall day and feeling rather chilly and damp by the early evening. Chatting to a local (we found people in Boston very friendly, incidentally) he recommended the Sail Loft. It was excellent; good fresh seafood, pleasant staff and a nice ambiance. Warmly recommended.

The Sail Loft is a fun time in the summer. It is located right on the water and right near the bustle of the North End. They have delicious breakfast as well as a great drink list. They also have a variety of sandwiches.

Our family ate here twice during our first Boston visit. The restaurant was actually recommended by the Logan airport TSA officer, which is a first, but appreciated.
Drinks & cocktails were superb, with a nice choice. We had a bottle of Californian Riesling with one meal that was first class and well priced in my opinion. The real star is the seafood. We shared a Chowder that was absolutely delicious and had a variety of fresh steamed lobster, lobster rolls and pasta seafood during our visits. All were cooked expertly and great quality. Service was fantastic and the place had a great buzz and atmosphere.
My only gripe are the restrooms which are tucked away near the back, en route to the kitchen - it can feel like running the gauntlet a little as there's always food coming out and the place is a little narrow, but its no real issue.
We were tourists but felt Sail Loft catered well to locals, regulars and tourists and we all chose to return there for a second meal which was just as good as the first in a 4 day trip. Very highly recommended. Thanks TSA!

Outstanding service and a really fun menu. I started my meal with the shrimp cocktail, and really liked that they priced it per shrimp (I had five). For my entree I had a steamed lobster with a side salad, and both were excellent. For dessert I indulged with the apple tart. I enjoyed my dining experience and will definitely be back.

Great place to go for great seafood in a casual atmosphere. My wife and I usually both get lobster, but I had a lobster roll to switch things up and was not disappointed. Lightly tossed with mayo, so the lobster was still the star of the show.
