After going to the Grand Canyon and having my mind blown and expectations set unreasonably high for the national park system, I expected Saguaro to be just your average national park. I was wrong. Off you're looking to get outdoors in a setting that is your stereotypical "desert" with cactus, sand etc, then this is your place.

Coming over the pass into the park is amazing, and don't worry about being tempted to take pictures for your car because they have a ton of scenic pull over spots. The visitors center has clean bathrooms and an informative exhibit on the park.

We saw a group of kids earning thier junior ranger badges and it looked very fun. Not did the kids look like they having a blast, but the ranger looked like they genuinely loved working with the kids. before getting thier badges they even made the children take a park ranger oath. the oath part made me wish I was ten again. If you have kids be sure to look into the junior rager program.

This isn't a park you see in TV shows or ads but it's a great park and the sunsets are incredible too!

If you're into outdoors and beautiful scenery, look no further. Saguaro National Park East is a very nice place to take the family for an outdoor adventure. If you like to bike or hike oh, they have a paved Road that runs throughout the park. It is it is just long enough to enjoy yourself but not long enough to exert yourself. If you're more of a off-road type, they offer several unpaved trails and several picnic spots throughout the park. The scenery is second to none, very beautiful. I highly recommend you buy the annual park pass that you can use throughout all the national parks in the United States. If you plan on frequent visits to the national parks it is the way to go. I will definitely be going back to enjoy the scenery. Every time I've gone there, which is several times now, I have not seen the same thing twice and I always see something new to enjoy with my family.

This National Park protects the beauty and natural diversity of the Sonoran Desert and it's sky islands. It's rare to have a National Park so close to a high population. Take advantage and go see it.

One of our favorites drives in Tucson! Never get tired of visiting this Nat. Park with the 8-mile drive in all seasons. If you are lucky enough to be a Sr. Citizen, you can buy the $10 lifetime Nat. Park Sr. Pass here and take a carload with you for free. Don't miss the outdoor cactus garden outside the Visitor's Center. Good to stop here before your drive so you will recognize the many forms of cacti.

Absolutely gorgeous park, the only downfall is that dogs aren't suppose to be on the paved trails. I prefer the east side to the west side as there are more trails and it seems like more to see. It is nice going to the west side though to see the petroglyphs. Everyone there is very friendly. Highly recommend, just make sure to bring enough water and a hat.

This is my 17th National Park and it s one of my Top 3 favorites. The Saguaro cacti are beautiful and seeing such a concentration of them (along with other beautiful desert plant life) makes for some gorgeous scenery. I did the Hugh Norris trail and it offered a great medium intensity hike to really get into the thick of the park and see some impressive views of surrounding AZ. CHECK IT OUT!!!!

Went in the afternoon of June 1st, 2018. When the time came, the staff were all off work. The area is not large and the scenery is good. If you don t have a barbecue and camping, you can visit for about two hours.

My experience at this park was absolutely wonderful! I couldn't believe how HUGE the Saguaro cactus can get! And they grow straight up into the mountainsides surrounding the landscape! A park ranger showed us a Saguaro he believes has the most "arms" --- its 5 times taller than I am!!! See my pictures by tapping my name above!

We hiked the Garland-Carrillo loop. The path was well maintained and marked. The trail head is popular so you may need to park on the road. No facilities at the trail head, so plan ahead.
