It's incredible. We were told to bring the proper gear and lots of water. Breathtaking scenery, helpful guide.

A spectacular sight! Just don t touch anything with your hands! My wife pulled microneedles from some plants from her clothes and skin for half a day (
Nature at its best and most beautiful! One of my favorite places on Earth. Well taken care of. The facilities are always clean and stocked. The store is great and the people are knowledgeable! Will go back many times to come!!!
Absolutely amazing! The beauty of this park cannot be expressed!
This park is really quite nice. Plan to spend at least a couple of hours if you want to see a reasonable amount of the park. I highly recommend going off-road on the scenic drive. I saw a Honda Civic do it, so your vehicle should have no issues. We saw coyotes, road runners, jack rabbits, as well as a multitude of other birds / lizards, etc.
Someone told us not to go, glad we ignored that person. This place was amazing, it is the perfect park to take a drive through at sunset and it even has pull offs for photos! Hope to go back and hike thru one day.
Nice drive or bike thru park with plenty of places to explore.
The quiet is reason alone to visit. Many trails covering various skill levels. The slow drive and view is the best. Always favorite loop for bicycles and runners. Only a few minutes from east Tucson, well worth the time
The absolute beauty of the desert, trails are great and view breathtaking!
We messed up and ended up going to the West one instead of the East, but it turned out beautifully! It was awesome walking through the desert giants. It was really nice to be in nature. And of course the next time we know how to get to the East one. We had a wonderful time.
Fantastic views and scenic drive. Wonderful place, a must visit for everyone.
This review is of the West portion or Mountain district of Saguaro National Park.
With only 3 hours of daylight left I found the dirt road to signal Hill accessible in a standard vehicle but I would not recommend it for a low clearance Vehicles due to some protruding rocks. There are plenty of hiking trails to be found in varying levels ranging from extremely easy to difficult and associated time constraints.
The park staff were very friendly, giving advice on where to look for areas of interest (Raptors in my case) and ability.
Being in a desert they were certain ascertain once familiarity with the need to drink water even in the middle of winter and carry it with you at all times which is mandatory for any trips in to Desert environment.
The visitor's center and gift shop we're well tended to and information was readily accessable.
Be sure to look out the back patio for the high concentration of saguaro, it's stunning.
Signal Hill is where you can see some petroglyphs, and the 200 yard walk from the picnic area is easy so long as you can take about 40 stairs.
If sunset photos are your goal plan on waiting about 20 minutes after actual sunset to capture the most impressive range of colors. The way to get the most startling typically requires some clouds, which are frequent in the monsoon season but even without them it's beautiful. It's also very dark after sunset, you're in a wide open area away from most city lights despite Tuscon being so close, that pitch black is a good way to describe the area after dark, be sure to have a flashlight with you on the trails if you have any chance of taking longer to get back to the trailhead.
At twilight be certain to listen for the owls that start to call out as well.
Lovely park with a variety of cacti and nice views of the mountains.
Love the 8 mile driveable loop. There are several species of cactus that can be seen along the way and many dozens of the giant cactus. We would recommend taking a few minutes out of your planned trip to stop in and have a look
Wow!!! Just WOW!!!! That was a very unique experience. I was so fortunate to go here.
If you like the great outdoors, this is a must-see park. You need to find a native or guide if you really want to experience and learn about the terrain and plant life here.
The pictures I attached tell the tale!!
Awesome. Beautiful. Peaceful. Be prepared for a sudden downpour.
Such a unique park. I am grateful to have part in preserving this Sonoran Desert treasure. We were particularly thrilled at the enthusiasm and kindness of volunteer Calvin Jackson who presented our grandson with his Junior Ranger award.
Seeing the giant cactus was amazing! Just be prepared for the heat if you visit in June. In addition, make sure to check the pavement with your hand if you have a pet! If you can't hold your hand on the pavement, don't let your pet on it because it will burn their pads. Have a great time! I did!
Another National park that has made it on my list, the desert has some many different views and cactus everywhere you go.
I never understood how people could talk about loving the beauty of a desert, until I came here. I am in awe when I see a saguaro cactus. I never knew that a desert could be SO green! I have a new appreciation for desert life, both the flora and fauna. The information provided at the visitor center taught me a lot. I loved visiting this park.
We came to AZ to escape some winter weather from home. And promptly woke up to snow this morning! But, it worked out well to see this beautiful park with a rare dusting of snowWe drove to the visitor s center, and picked up some knowledge, and souvenirs! We took the trails around the center, which are easy, and informative. Then we escaped the cold a while by jumping in the car and driving the Bajada Loop a GREAT way to enjoy the park if the weather isn t good on your visit. We did stop at the Valley View Overlook trail, and hiked the 0.5 mile easy trail to get a high view. The clouds were low today, and it was still snowing a bit. Our faces got numb, but it was worth the walk!We continued on, a bit too far, because we had to turn around and back track to go to Signal Hill to see the petroglyphs. A short walk up a hill, and there they are where they ve been for thousands of years! We really enjoyed our morning in the park, and love that we could enjoy it despite the weather. It s a well maintained park, full of natural beauty, and I m glad to say we ve seen it!
My dog and I were here to walk the Mica trail and the desert ecology trail. Had great interaction with 3 staff members. It's all clean and green. Vincent even received a dog biscuit.
Pretty awesome!!! I am born and raised in Arizona and wish I would have seen this before now!!!
This was an awesome experience. My first time going. I highly recommend this place.
Beauty and inhospitable. Love stopping and taking time to observe the flowers, fruit, shapes, size, and sounds which are easy to miss just driving by. Just be careful what you touch (cause it might hurt ).
Never expected to see such huge saguaro (cactus plants).very interesting.
Simple and beautiful. Rode the 8 mile loop at the East Visitor Center. Beautiful but be care full if on a bike. Many hills. Bring extra water.
Great park to see the Saguaro cactus. Nice trails. Good clean facilities.
Very nice park, loved the trails - they have many trails with varying skill levels and time commitments. Petroglyphs were really interesting. Recommend!
Amazing. Hundreds, thousands of classic western cowboy movie cactus making a forest of cactus rather than trees!
Beautiful.
Thank goodness it is protected and preserved from developers and city growth.
Worth the easy access to drive through or hike.
It is a different experience with cactus and the drives. Watching cacti n desert life this close was great. Summer is not gud time to go. Also, younger kids are not preferred as trials are not stroller accessible
WOW! Beautiful hikes with waterfalls. Fairly moderate in difficulty. We saw both young and older folks enjoying the trails
It is a beautiful part of arizona. Saguaros only grow in this area.
It's amazing! Cactus everywhere, stunning views, peaceful and relaxing. Totally unique.
Only visited the visitors center. The $20 for a 8 mile loop was a bit much.
A full day trip at this park was incredible. It was very educational on how full of life the desert is. Of course, the famous Saguaro cactus. It's an amazing experience. And there was a fee based private Arizona Sonoro desert museum that you could go to. You can touch sting-rays for an extra fee. Ask them about climate change. They will have some pretty good insights about the topic.
Great place for easy or hard hikes. Lots of trails in the Cactus Forest area but make sure you stop at the visitor center to get a map first!!! Trails form a maze and it s easy to get lost without a map! Bridal Wreath Falls trail is hard but beautiful especially when the falls are running.
This is actually divided into east and west parks. East has better trails in my opinion but West has petroglyphs. Check out seasonal volunteer led programs and walks. These are really great especially the night walks, geology walks and nature walks. Leave your dog at home. One sniff of a cactus and our dog had to go to the vet to get those unseen little spines taken out.
walk the trails! You cannot appreciate this flying through in your car. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the quiet ( a rare experience for most people). Some paved roads, some not, a good thing, since it keeps speeds down so those of us who don't think everything has to resemble an action movie can enjoy the scenery. Went to Sentinel Hill yesterday for a short hike and lunch. While most areas near Tucson are packed on a weekend, few people here. Fine with me! Breathtaking!
Great variety of trails for running, hiking and mountain biking.
Well-maintained trails and informational placards on vegetation and wildlife. Docents inside the visitor center are very helpful and knowledgeable. Kudos to Doris! The unpaved dirt road is hard-packed, but not much dust.
Great place to see and learn about the Sonoran desert.
This place is beautiful. There are hikes to suit all needs.
Good variety of hiking trails, from quick level paths to intense all day hikes. There is even a driving path of you don't want to hike. Definitely visit if you are in Tuscon.
Hello if you like to go hiking and be outdoors this is the place with your family and friends very nice s lot of things to do enjoy your day.
Saguaro National Park is an other wordly and amazing place. The Western area has an amazing drive on a dirt road that includes 2 short but astounding hikes. The Valley view hike is beautiful and the Signal Hill hike is a very short uphill to hundreds of prehistoric petroglyphs. Plus majestic sagueros beyond count. The east side has a paved road that stops by many visits and short hikes. The two sides are different and each is very with a visit.
I wish we had more time to explore but we will definitely come back. Such beautiful scenery. Definitely recommend wearing walking shoes, some of the paths can be quite rough and rocky.
This is a must-go place if you are visiting Tucson. In this national park, you get to see cacti that don't grow anywhere else in the world! The scenic drive allows you to take great pictures and to go at your own pace. I would highly recommend going to this park if you are visiting Tucson.
Nice drive, trails are well maintained, and bathrooms at picnic area.
Hiked to Wassan Peak. Solid hike. Very, very pretty in the spring. Avoid during summer as there is no shade on the trail.
