They don't respond to emails at all, their call menu is a mess when it comes to getting to the correct department and then you get put on hold for 30 min listening to the voice prompts, your support department is terrible

Pastel and now Sage has never sorted any problems at first try. We are now on our 8th try to get up and running with our query, not counting any attempt via email. This is unacceptable. Customer number: 33739

since their crash 9 days ago, the cloud based accounting software is not working or intermittently at best (and then only super slow). When calling the local office, they are unable to advise. We have decided to ditch Sage and migrate to a competitor from March onwards (new financial year). - We understand these things do happen, but zero communication and a clueless local staff convinced us to abandon Sage.

They don't even deserve the minimum 1 star!

If you have a query of any kind, they send you to go read a book on their support website
If you phone you press numerous numbers ending up on the same address to read a book, while listening to endless advertisements on their useless products and non-existant service!!

Stay away!!

The digital telephone system give you options for holding more than 10 minutes or 30 minutes

I sent an email 2 days ago, I got a reference number, and nothing else but to go read a book on all the issues you might experience, including incorrect billing

Stay away as far as possible!!

Once again I ponder why ZERO stars is not an option. After asking Support for assistance, not only have I waited a week with ZERO response, but emails are now deleted without being read. Seriously, if you're looking to find a new Accounting software package, STAY AWAY from Sage, their customer support is NON existent. Service is bad,no clear cut answers about the problems that they are facing.,or any clear cut answers when the problems will be resolved. Cant login, loading speeds is a joke. For such a big company the issues that they are experiencing right now,should have been resolved. They dont care about their clients.

This is what they have to say after 2 weeks - cant believe it = Sage Business Cloud Accounting customers are experiencing intermittent issues within the service and when trying to access it. We understand the frustration this is causing, especially during month-end. Multiple teams continue to work on restoring the service alongside teams from our partners and service providers. We are sincerely sorry.

I am a small organisation but i use Sage Pastel so...

I am a small organisation but i use Sage Pastel software to run my business. I dont have many issues, but when i do, i never get a response and due to this i am generally forced to sort the problem out myself. Recently i have been away and asked them to please send me an invoice so that i can pay my annual subscription manually via EFT. I emailed on numerous occasions with no reply despite having received receipts to say they would contact me within a certain period of time, i went onto their support chat and got nothing, and calling them is a waste of time. I sat for 20 minutes minimum until i eventually put the phone down. They have now cut me off and I am having to wait for them to get back to me. Appalling support service and considering i have been with them for about 5 years now, i wish there was something else i could use. Maybe time to start looking. SAGE, i am a person with a business that obviously benefits you. Dont turn me into an automated need because of your own support incompetence. Talk to us

The sage servers have been down for 3 days now? Seems like they have no redundancy or back ups for their cloud systems. Sage is a complete Joke. Zero accounting is the way to go.

I find it absolutely fascinating that a large online company like this cannot foresee that EVERY 25-30 days they WILL have excessive traffic to their online platforms as every single client of theirs will be processing month end. The amount of time I have had to deal with "Error Occurred" messages from the platform make it rather look like a new ill-informed start-up company. The best is the waiting period of at least 45 min before being able to contact someone, just to be told (again) that the servers are down.
Seriously? You cannot predict it? This kind of non-service will make you loose business - mine very soon.

nearly 3 weeks trying to call to get a package re-registered. ALL sage lines cut the call after open ring. It is very difficult to get through. sent emails/messages to every possible contact I could find including UK office and no-one has replied. Sage you should be embarrassed. After over 15 years of using many versions of Pastel/Sage I am now reconsidering my options. The AI/Self Help route Sage has chosen to follow will/is lose them clients really fast.

Functionality is good when it comes to creating payslips, etc. However... the support is abysmal!! Receipt of invoices, correspondence to emails, requests for monthly tax invoices, etc - probably the worst I have experienced from a company as large as Sage. I have sent an urgent email on the 31st of Aug for an invoice that SARS requested,, still no response! (And I copied in 5 Sage addresses). Would have given 1 star if it wasn't for the decent Payroll section.

Sage Accounting forces you to pay for support, that they cant provide , support that i dont use to often , but when i phone , i do have a problem, I have communicated with 2 support consultant , none could provide me with a solution , i have requested to chat to a manage numerously , with no luck , that only answered the call after you have to go through all the option , they dont make it easy to get through to support , i have manged to self sorted to problem i had that 2 trained experts in Sage Accounting are unable to do, Sage was once a company that assist there client and supported them with trained experts , now this is not the case , after 20 years of being a client , it is time to find a component , trusted accounting products, Sage is note one of those , as they cant support the software they develop , there support consultant is not trained in the use of the software and all that they want to do is sell you software this is not working , and have support consultant that dont want / can to support you and just want to go answer and drop the call asap to get through the day,

I like the fact that Sage came up with an idea to assist companies to manage their assets using a stand alone fixed assets module. I have used the module and I am not satisfied.Even a spread sheet is better than what was sold to us by Sage .You guys can do so much better.I want to see my assets on the the fixed assets detail listing per quantity per grouped assets and per branch in one report,I want to see notifications as a reminder that i need to dispose or take some of my assets for licencing as I have so many X-ray equipment that needs to get tested and licensed .Your module is not the best fit for our industry.

Sage Pastel support is pathetic. Guaranteed you will wait 1 - 2 hours before they will answer a support call. It doesn't matter if you pay for support, you will wait. They don't phone back and for two years now they refuse to spend the money and fix their support system. I would seriously warn anyone to look elsewhere for a financial application and I've been using pastel since version 5.

Day 3 - Sage is still down, this happens every time Sage does maintenance on their systems, there has been very little feedback around the issues, we have been logging tickets all day, this is putting our business at risk, impacting on our cash flow, customer service and productivity. WHEN WILL THIS BE RESOLVED SAGE?? clearly you do not value your clients, Zero accounting seems worth exploring now.

After a short stay as a senior executive at Trillian, Goodson joined the SA office of Sage, a global accounting software business listed on the London Stock Exchange. Goodson kept her employer fully informed of her intention to blow the whistle. But when she actually went public last week, Sage lost its nerve. Instead of watching her back, in a clear case of constructive dismissal the multinational enforced a resignation that had been offered as a courtesy.

This appalling behaviour by Sage tumbled into the public arena yesterday during my interview with Sygnia CEO Magda Wierzycka, who shared Goodson s story. She said: I have never been so disgusted in my life this is a woman who is placing her life at risk doing it for SA and for all the right reasons. For a company to treat her this way is breathtaking.

But here s the good news. Wierzycka, who was the first JSE-listed CEO to fire Gupta auditors KPMG and will now do the same with Sage says she has reached out to Goodson: I offered her a job and hopefully she ll accept. So do we. A national hero deserves a supportive home".
