Great Wednesday night Jazz !! I'm definitely going back
Went at night time for a company xmas dinner. The food was excellent, the facilities are really dated and appear to be stuck in the 70's with their decor.
It was sub par compared to other brunches. For $25 it shouldn't feel like just a little better than golden corral
Okay where do I start? The spa smells of mildew, the staff is awful, their towels are old and stained and shrunk. Half the time the facilities (steam room, sauna, hot tubs etc.) are not working. They don t clean. Their locker system, is faulty.... there have been several break ins. Management is fake and pretentious, they over work and underpay their employees. The are severely understaffed as well. I sent my mother here for her birthday and she was so mistreated. They don t care about their customers, only the money. You can go to a spa at Disney world for cheaper than this place. They don t clean their bathrooms or their treatment rooms. Half the time you have to under go treatment in the same room
As someone else. Don t waste your time here.
We enjoyed our stay here and want to come back. Everyone was courteous and rooms were clean. Cute small walkable town nearby. Good restaurants both nearby and in the hotel. It is a historic birth for the area and for its springs, therefore the reason for a spa. And the spa is inviting.
Excellent location, beautiful atmosphere and the service was top notch.
Tiki bar remodel came out great, awesome view, great drinks!
Quirky, Crazy, Awesome Resort With a Real Pulse. If you've ever wanted to see the hotel in The Shining, this is it (but in a good way). I have lived in Pinellas for years; had lunch here, been to events, but never actually stayed here until my buddies wife through his birthday party here. This place is beyond quirky; double hallways that lead to the same place, crazy carpet schemes, and it is just an absolute maze. Half the fun is just getting lost in these buildings and seeing what's at the end. It is way bigger than it looks and has tons of free stuff that comes with your room. Speaking of rooms, they are awesome with some of the most comfortable beds i have ever slept in (I have a bad back so this is saying alot). There are 3 or 4 pools you can swim in, indoor and out, including one that has a mineral spring under it that feeds some of the water into it. The big pool in the middle is surrounded by all the buildings and has a Tiki bar that serves food and drinks. There are Jacuzzis, wet and dry steam rooms, huge locker rooms and showers (there are complimentary robes for anyone who wants to use them), a nice gym, etc. All included in your stay. Then of course there is a myriad of spa treatments you can pay for as well. It is located in downtown Safety Harbor which is a great quaint little town where you can pretty much walk to everything: awesome restaurants, bars, etc (I highly recommend the 9th Avenue Pub as far as bars go) and eclectic shops. Will def be coming back for another 'staycation'.
We had our daughter's wedding at the spa and it was perhaps everything and more. The venue is beautiful, people are so friendly and helpful and there is an air of bonhomie about the place.
The staff did a fabulous job with everything- the ceremony, reception and cocktail hour.
It started raining about 15 min before the ceremony was to begin but they pulled it all together and decorated the back up area so fast that many guests did not even realize the venue had moved from outdoors to inside.
Jenna our wedding coordinator was just superb. She took the stress out of everything and we really did not have to do anything as she and her team took care of it all.
Our entire family enjoyed the wedding so much, we want a rewind of the day if possible :-)
Thanks for an evening of fabulous memories.
Best bed I have ever slept in. Had a beautiful room with a view. Excellent customer service. Their in-house restaurant has an amazing menu that caters to all(but meat lovers will certainly want it to be Thursday everyday because of the Prime Rib night! ). All this, and I haven't even mentioned the Spa. Best one in the area. Everything is clean and the staff is friendly and professional. Getting services at the Spa gets you access to all other resort pools, jacuzzi, sauna ect, for the day, so it's a great deal and a good way to spend your whole day. Need to shower and change after that? Even if you are not staying at the resort, spa services grant access to a locker room, with showers, toiletries and everything you might need before you are ready to head home. This place never dissapoints.
Not worth the price...staff not as nice as they should be...waitress was nice but didnt have a clue! Food is good.
As a longtime SH spa member, I ll declare that the new Parthenon Bar experience is head, shoulders and torso above the previous regime, of whom I complained years ago, and was proven right.
The new manager Doreen has instilled a customer-first spirit that was missing, plus a team strategy that will certainly avoid the issues that led to the management change.
The staff is friendlier, the food and drinks as tasty as always. There are issues. Staffing decisions could be smarter (so many times there s a crowded bar due to holidays, multiple weddings, etc. without enough servers. Come on, you know how many rooms are booked.) The music situation, both live and recorded, is hit-and-miss.
But the staff works well under occasionally tough conditions not of their own making. Members (i.e. good-paying customers not checking out Monday) are very happy with this new Parthenon direction.
It s the best reason why longtime spa members stick around.
I had a chicken sandwich that was really bad. The chicken was super hard to chew. I should have sent it back immediately but was to busy talking.
Great size room and very nice location. Safety Harbor is a great little town. The view from our room was breathtaking and the pool was nice. The front desk people, however, were not so nice and usually unavailable when needed.
Great place nice clean rooms and helpful staff. A very good value.
Your 20% tip is included in the price but they do not tell you that.
Old school style hotel and spa. The best part of the resort is the spa. There are several pools, including a lap pool. The on-site restaurants are serviceable, especially for breakfast.
Amazing place such nice people everything is golden here I will definitely be back
Weekend Brunch was full of selections, omelet station, entree items, breakfast foods, salad station , desserts, plenty for your desires. Call ahead for large groups. Pay first, sit and relax, take a short stroll around the large lobby. It's a relaxing spot.
Nice rooms, great food, perfect location the pool is my favorite aspect of our stay.
I feel as tho I never got that thing I was supposed to get.
Expensive resort but it allows use of facilities with any beauty treatment. Great hairdresser, Jewels, is worth the visit to their nice salon.
Great place or relaxation. The spa was so great. The place is surounded by a very cozy town. Beautiful
Upon checking in, no one wanted to help me to my suite. I had several things as I was getting ready for my wedding. My first look was at the hotel as was my wedding night. A man told me I could borrow a cart but had to bring it back to him.... never have I been told to bring my bags to the room then bring back the cart. The nice woman checking me in didn t feel comfortable asking for him to help, and suggested I ask. He was very reluctant then told me to take the cart and bring it back.. I asked if room service was an option and was told it was. Once I got to the room, I called down and was told they stopped doing room service because they were busy. I m not sure how a hotel stops room service because they have people dining with them. Especially since it s a Friday night and they should expect to be busier than usual.
I then went down to the restaurant where I was told I can t have soup and salad, even though I was paying for the soup and salad came with dinner... once the food came out, it was disgusting. Green beans were obviously frozen and had a ton of salt. I didn t eat the food and it was taken off the bill.
The following day, the power went out and as I was getting ready for my wedding there was no AC. When I called down to ask if it was a known issue they were extremely rude. I never write reviews, but my experience was just so terrible that I wanted to share.
I also sent an initial email several days ago and of course no one bothered to reach out.
Only spent 1 nite here -- was attending a wedding. But I found the front desk as well as rest of staff to be very helpful and pleasant. We had a nice room overlooking the pool on the 3rd floor. The price of the room was quite reasonable also. Very convenient to the town.
Horrible service at the restaurant. Sticky floors. Horrible service at the buffet
I booked a package for my husband's birthday weekend. Went to check in they didnt have is booked for the package. They said our website is messing up, I said that's not my problem. they finally fixed it. We get to our room which was supposed to be a suite, it was an oversized room.....no suite. I guess they called it a suite because there was a couch in the room it was from the 1970s and was dirty. The staff in the restaurant were not really friendly at all. There was 1 waitress that was great. The food was barely warm when we got it. The only time it was hot was when we did the buffet and Joe cooked it it front of us. They charge over 200.00 a room and it's so not worth it.
the spa has a small outdoor and indoor lap pool (24ish yards) and an outdoor splash around pool. steam room and sauna are nice and clean. locker rooms have lockers, flipflops, and robes available. towels galore and attentive staff. two jacuzzis although one was out of commision. mani-pedis, sweedish massages and body wraps all available.
Awesome Sunday brunch! Totally loved it. Great food and service. The resort is beautiful and looks like a great place to hold a wedding or other special event.
Just a really pleasurable stay, friendly staff and prompt courteous service.
I live in the area of the spa. Joined a friend for a drink in the bar shortly after work and ordered a drink. Got the bill and saw that they charge $1.50 for ice for the drink. Next it will be the napkin and the glass will be extra. Voiced my concern the next day via e mail to the facility and they of course they didn't have the courtesy to respond - not surprising!
Excellent massage therapists and the food is great.
We had a really great time staying at the spa. Everyone made sure that we had everything we needed. Can't wait to visit the spa again.
I attended our 50 year High School Reunion had a great time and service was excellent
Very classy place even though pricey. You tip 18% regardless of calibre of service.
Such a great place.. Highly Recommend The Area around there is amazing
Love the view and like the people that take care of u there
Safety Harbor Spa is a luxurious high end resirt and Spa on Main St Safety Harbor. It is very beautiful inside and offers accommodations such as the springs in the spa. A pool and tiki bar plus fine dining and an inside bar
It's always a great visit, friendly staff and A+ spa that my wife loves. The restaurant is under new management and the food was excellent.
Nice, clean and comfortable roomn. The spa area and steam room are amazing. Very relaxing and beautiful place.
Detailed Wedding Review: 4 1/2 stars
So here is my complete wedding review. I would hands down have my wedding here again. Now I have OCD so some of the things I may mention might not be issues to other people but they were minor inconveniences to me.
Venue 5: our wedding was a Gatsby themed wedding. So the venue was perfect and beautiful. We loved that this was an all inclusive wedding package. We wanted to do plated meals and usually that is more expensive than buffet however that wasn't the case here. What you pay per person (depending on meal choice and meeting the min) includes the venue, food, beverages, alcohol (liquor, beer, wine, champagne), tables, linens, chairs, and wedding cake (choice of 6 local bakeries). The venue sets you up on a payment plan however, we didn't like how their payment plan was so we asked to make equal monthly payments which they happily obliged.
Coordinator 4: when we first looked at Safety Harbor we had an amazing wedding coordinator, Jenna who literally helped me through some of the most stressful times of getting everything set up. I was devastated when about halfway to our wedding we found out she was leaving. We built a relationship with her and now we were getting someone brand new that was going to have to play catch up. Now here is where my OCD comes in. Because we hadn't established a relationship with Sandy previously our time together felt a lot more like catching up. Sandy had to take on all of Jenna's 2019 clients plus any new clients so I understand her not being able review every detail plus she didn't have the added benefit of the conversations that Jenna and I had. So yes in the middle of planning a wedding it was often times stressful and frustrating for me to have to make sure that things that were previously discussed would be done however, I understand Sandy was just trying to make my day perfect. She is very prompt in email communication.
Food 4 1/2 & cake 5: omg the food is amazing here, the service of the food is very professional and prompt we had so many compliments on it. The cake we choose to go with The Artistic Whisk and I don't regret it. Their cakes are flawless and delicious and light. They are amazing to work with and worth the delivery fee. Now my biggest complaint about all of this (on the service side hence the 4 1/2) was the cake cutting. My cake served 150 guests. It was broken down to the facility how many servings were in each tier. I provided that to safety Harbor. I had also had made Togo boxes that held the cake and instead of it being passed out on plates they would be packaged Togo for guests to enjoy now or later. I had heard complaints that the slices were very thin. The next morning I was notified we had cake leftover. I was thinking we had Togo boxes leftover. Wrong. They used up all the Togo boxes and those were taken by guests but I had half of tiers left over! I had so much cake leftover that I shouldn't have had and I didn't want. Safety Harbor had set aside one of each flavor for us in the boxes and when I looked and saw how thin they were I was mad. My guests got very thin slices and I had enough cake for everyone to begin with. I understand having leftover of my bottom tier because it was tall and it would have to be cut in half to fit in the box but the rest of the tiers would fit fine. This was my biggest complaint.
Accommodations 5: were great we had the biggest suite so we could get ready. We had complimentary breakfast in bed. They had strawberries and champagne in our room waiting for us. It was perfect for everyone getting ready.
So like I said I would definitely have my wedding here again. Everyone had a blast and they had nothing but amazing things to say.
Really disappointed in the spa. We booked massages and brunch for our anniversary. My therapist was fine, however, my boyfriend s therapist never showed! We were obviously refunded for his service since he didn t receive any service, but no one even knew that the therapist wasn t here - he was just left waiting and wondering. The facility itself is dated (including stained carpet) and the area where you wait for your service is much too public to be hanging out in only a robe.
I was given Safety Harbor Spa gift certificates for my retirement and then this past Christmas from my husband! I went today and had an absolutely wonderful experience. First, a salt scrub and dry sauna with Jivha followed by an essential hydrating wrap with Nikki. Both were excellent practitioners, polite and professional. Nikki was amazing. My body feels not only hydrated, but relaxed and nourished. Can t wait to go back! Thank you! Thank you!
Went there for my birthday celebratory meal. I love Safety Harbor and the surrounding area and I was very impressed with the idea of coming to this place which I have never been. The French maitre d or the register person was very friendly but I did think it was strange that we had to pay foran meal before we sat down. I enjoyed the meal merely because they had a couple items that I did like a lot but many items I did not like. The service staff was adequate and the dining room seem like something from the Hamptons in the 60s or 50s with no windows. Would have thought there would have been at least a window or two in the place just to show how beautiful the outside was.
My husband was visiting this resort for a conference. The room was okay. The bed was comfortable. The surrounding area was absolutely amazing. I arrived a couple days into the conference. Here is where we had an issue that was not resolved satisfactorily. My husband did not have cellular reception in his room, therefore when making business calls and calling home each evening he was charged. He did not know he was going to be charged and since we live in the state of Florida, definitely not $200 for phone calls. That was absolutely ridiculous. He went to the front desk to try to resolve the issue and they said they would look into it, but when we checked out, we were charged. Another issue I observed was a guest vomited in the hallway and it was left there for an extended amount of time (this happened Thursday, October 5, 2017). For health reasons, I would think it would have been cleaned up quickly. I know it was there for at least 2 1/2 hours. The smell was still there in the evening on Thursday and Friday morning.
Best spa and pool day. Louise, the outside bartender was awesome! Everyone was friendly and courteous. Will definitely be back.
Bought a day pass which gives access to the spa facilities, the gym and all the fitness classes. Had lunch outdoors by the tiki bar. The water Zumba class was fun, food was delicious, and the sauna, steam room and hot tubs were very relaxing. All employees and guests were wearing masks and social distancing. It was a much needed indulgence! I highly recommend.
An amazing place for a wedding venue we just had her wedding there and it was absolutely phenomenal Maria did an amazing job putting everything together. Everything went smooth and it was beautiful. Highly recommend
Place was great just had broke tv for 2 nights. Also had to get help 3 times for refrigerator that was not turned on. My breakfast never showed up that I ordered for the 19th of May. Tv call twice...man brought 2 remotes and still never worked. Other than that it was lovely!
Stay here on a business trip and truly could not enjoy all the hotel offers. My room was ok, but not as nice as the ones in their advertisement.
I had my wedding at this historical landmark last summer and it was incredible, I've had many friends and family members tell me that it was the best wedding they had ever experienced. The food was delicious, the service was incredible, and the ballroom was elegant and beautiful on its own. The management went above and beyond to accommodate our every need. Can't say enough good things about Safety Harbor Spa. Thank you for making my wedding so wonderful!!!
Very outdated hotel, needs remodeling. The biggest problem that they advertise indoor pool, but don't let children under age of 16 use it. They had some outside construction going on by the outdoor pool, but we couldn't use the indoor pool because we had kids. They sure didn't forget to charge us a resort fee ($16/day). Won't stay there again.
Great location, decent property. Well maintained, but xould use some updates.
This is the place for the best and classiest karaoke in the area. Friday nights are the night to go. They should do it on Saturdays as well!
Inside it's beautiful people very nice food was delicious I would highly recommend it
The brunch is out of this world ridiculously awesome. Go here!
Massage, massage staff and inside staff are hands down 5 stars!
Unfortunately, the outdoor bar staff is not.
I had a package deal with 2 massages and 2 lunches.
Went to outside bar to watch football and eat.
My philly came out with on slice of meat. Which is sad! They took it back.
I ordered something different and got charged for it even though I already had it paid for with package.
Bald, tall, black manager...forgot his name, he was great. He handled the situation the best way he could. But, I dont think I will be back after the problems out by pool and out tiki. The bartender with the weird colored hair was extremely rude. Good luck!
They also allow anyone from the public into the pool area. This is a high class place but anyone can come in without making a purchase? Wish that was different!
What a beautiful place! Had a great time there! Loved reading about the "healing water" history. The Swedish Couples Massage was AMAZING, the food at the tiki bar was fantastic & I was very impressed with service from start to finish and ever inch of the property! Will return! Highly recommend.
Awesome place to watch the 4th of July fireworks show
Will never do a holiday meal there again. Our family Christmas dinner was a disaster and management did not want to hear about it. We were sat, got up to get our meal and when we got back they had given our window seating to another couple. Then the 3 of us were sat at a small wobbly table. Service stunk.
Absolutely perfectly awesomely wonderful! Hotel accommodations were excellent. The room very large and the bed heaven to sleep in. Amenities supurb which includes steam bath, sauna, cool pool, hot tubs, 3 pools, 1 outside for sunning and swimming, 1 for excercizing and one for lap swimming. And a huge gym! Then there are all kinds of services to lavish your body....different massages, facials and salon care. Employees are so friendly courteous and helpful. Restaurant has excellent food. Also located in lovely Safety Harbor with shops and restaurants along Main Street you will want to visit in the evening. P.S. Spa is open from 6:30 a.m. until 10.00 p.m.
I highly, highly recommend this place. It is like visiting a world of solitude, tranquility and peace. My vibration was elevated. Staff and others were pleasant to be around. 5 star resort in my opinion. You won't regret it.
Was here for a wedding over the weekend. My wife and I loved the decor and ambiance in the resort. We were cheerfully greeted by valet and was in love with the service from that point until the end. Highly recommend the place to couples.
The actual services and ambiance is high quality and wonderfully done. The customer service however is below average and does not fit what one should expect from this place. It's like everyone in the representative position went through a special training class called "how to frustrate people 101" where they learn to answer questions with "I don't know" and "I wasn't here." Booking an appointment was annoying, it felt like I was speaking with someone on their first day of working anywhere. Simple questions could not be answered. Like no one cares.
I would come back to eat, or swim. But I know I can get an amazing massage or pedicure for half the price, with much better customer service, anywhere else around town.
Looked forward to going as a special Mom and daughters annual pamper day. All four of us made plans and some work days off. We booked our room and looked forward to a day of fun. We carried our luggage in and checked in. Told the attendant we were going to the steam room. Our room wasn't ready, and we were going to enjoy. We went down to the spa and that's where we found out the steam room was down and they were waiting for the repairman. We asked if it was going to be fixed that day or not. They were unsure. We said how long has it been down. She said a few days. We then requested our refund. They weren't going to do it. My sister in law had to talk to the manager and then someone above the manager, she finally received a refund. Just in case you make big plans. I believe they should have called us at least 24 hours in advance. We wouldn't have made the trip.
Always a great place to walk to! Peaceful. Have their new outside bar toward the water. Staff always incredibly kind. Music on weekend.
Omg,me and my friends fell in love with this place, and we recommend anyone to go there. Love, love, love it...10 stars for the hospitality
If I could give this hotel zero stars I would! First off: they changed my brother's wedding rehearsal from being at two to 12:30p because they never bothered writting down the time. After dealing with them and getting it changed back to the time it was supposed to be, we tried to check into our rooms. Well then they told us that the majority of our rooms weren't ready and to come back in an hour (during the wedding rehearsal time). After the rehearsal we go and try to check into a room and they give us room keys, only to find out that someone else was booked in that room when we get there!
Not only that, my sister went to get something to eat the next morning at the restaurant there and they gave her moldy fruit.
Then the refrigerator broke in our room, the night before we were leaving, spoiling all of the food that we had bought to eat.
This was NOT a four star hotel nor a four star experience. We will never be staying here again.
The staff was exceptionally polite and helpful and the resort was beautiful. I'd love to go back soon.
