Rydges South Bank Brisbane Review

Paid the extra to have river views, we didn't get river view, got the wheel and city. Also no draws and only one cupboard to hang clothes and place other items.

Very posh hotel and excellent room set up. 3 different eateries in one building for most range of the budget. Recommend highly for business trips.

Beds were comfortable, shower was large, pool could have been cleaner, bathroom could have been better, good views

Conference room was quite nice. Sounds was clear and light was just right. Food was just average.

Rooms were clean, and staff were friendly and professional. The events and the facility was well organised and prepared. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Was there for a corporate party. Service and food was average. Some of the service staff was kinda rude or looked annoyed for some reason. Other than that everything else was good.

Great food and service. Drop off area/porte cochere area gets crowded during function drop off/pickup. Especially with taxis.

I had a room overlooking the Conference Center.
My compulsory stay, due to Covid Quantiioned Restrictions was made pleasurable by the clean and well laid out accommodation, the well thought out and practical procedures, to ensure all my needs were meet, as well as the security of all was maintained.
The only comment to have helped was a microwave may have allowed my food, that was supplied, to be heated.
Otherwise, what could have been a daunting experience was made pleasurable.

Spacious rooms, comfy beds, finally a motel room with space in fridge & freezer area to chill drinks. Close to city ,theaters, restaurants to walk to.

A bit sterile as happens in a business hotel, but it was very comfortable, the service was attentive, the gym was pretty good, and the spa pool looked very appealing.

I visited the hotel for a conference. Excellent view from the rooftop. Really nice and caring staff. There were non-veg meals in the menu and being Muslim I and others with meal preference (Hindu, vegetarians) were offered no more than twice for such a meal which I feel was really nice accomplishment and someone was keeping an eye for such visits. We had discussed this on after the gathering.
Really appreciate the hard work by staff and management.

Nice hotel. Clean rooms and the balconies are very private. It s very central to everything you will need and the valet parking service is great. Only thing is driving in to the hotel is that you have to park quite abruptly and if you go in the wrong spot you totally ruin their system. But they re friendly about it so it s all good

Nice hotel in Brisbane's south bank. A bit on the pricey side though.

Great location and venue for attending the there or South Bank. Bit pricey on the drinks... though a great place to relax beside the pool.

Room is nice. However the food is terrible. Second time this week receiving cornflakes without milk.
Have asked if we can not pay for the food and just organise our own due to dietary requirements. Hotel won't allow this. So instead are to pay $65 per day per person for poor quality food that can't be eaten.

Really enjoyed our stay. Staff were excellent, and room was immaculate. Thanks guys.

Well positioned and the view of South Bank and the river from the 10th floor was stunning.

Always stay in Rydges when we go to the city for a show. The beds are lovely and comfortable the restaurant serves great food and the staff are always very pleasant and helpful. It is also within easy walking distance to everything, would highly recommend this hotel.

Found the conference rooms extremely hot. The airconditioning wasnt working very well and made the day unpleasant. Otherwise, great views of the city!

The rates are reasonable. The rooms are modern and comfortable - especially the bed. The staff are helpful and professional. I love the 'Going Green' concept. The Soleil bar and pool area is awesome. We will be back!

I've been here twice for 2 separate conferences and both have been a great outcome. Not sure what it's like to stay in the hotel rooms but the venue for events is top notch.

Clean, modern, spacious, and easily accessible to the north bank. Airconditioning in our room was a bit lackluster and needed servicing. Easy check in and out process. Could use better amenities in the bathroom.

Dinner at Bacchus was good, not cheap but good. Plenty of extras offered free during meal.

Great location with short walk, train or bus to City and a shorter walk to Southbank Parkland Precinct with all it has to offer. The staff were very helpful. Buffet breakfast was very good and priced at 2 for 1 paying $40. Room was well appointed and very clean.

The hotel room was amazing, the staff were lovely and the food was really good. The local area is also great.

Very comfortable accommodation and extremely convenient to the convention centre where I was for a conference. Friendly staff and well maintained facilities. My room had a balcony which was great for open air.

Had the 7 course degustation with my partner last night. Absolutely superb. Can't wait to go back, the wine pairings were brilliant.

This is our first time back to rydges after the upgrade and have to say we were incredibly impressed by the changes. Glamorous rooms which felt spacious. Bathroom was wonderful and loved the nespresso machine and milk frother. We had a a wonderful break and as soon as we got home, booked another stay in 2 months time

Stuck here in quarantine for 2 weeks. WiFi did not work as promised. Difficulty undersanding the reception staff from time to time. Very expensive laundry and room service.

Always a pleasant time when staying with Rydges. Not our first stay with the hotel in Brisbane and definitely not our last! Beautiful room as always and exceptional service from all staff.

Stayed here over the weekend, as we attended the race out at doombin and this was our choice of accommodation. Easy to find, great location, and super convenient with so many Uber s around! As for the hotel, good service, as we got back late and had 3am burgers which were bigger than we expected and so flavoursome best thing after drinking! Overall I d highly recommend staying here plus if your a qantas frequent flyer, your able to acquire points or use points to stay!! Win win if you ask me!

Nice loungey poolside outdoor bar with very chill vibes

Lovely destination. Staff were awesome from the reception to the barstaff to the concierge and waiters. The room was very comfortable and clean. We will return. Also very convenient and close to great restaurants. Southbank. QPAC and the convention centre.

The rooms were quality but on the night we stayed here the customer service was shocking.
Felt like we struck the high school casual graveyard shift. They didn t have the free space to park our car onsite valet but had no problem charging the $45, then again on check out, holding an additional $100 that should have been released until I called them weeks later to release it..
Short story, go for Mantra instead.

Rydges southbank is great in the middle of everything you want to go and see

Pretty good, nice rooms with good aircon and block out curtains. Friendly staff, lobby has a strange fragrance but that's a personal opinion.

We are on our last day of 14 day Quarantine at Rydges South Brisbane. Whilst quarantine isn't easy for anyone we could not fault the quality of the service and the staff during this very difficult time. Obviously the hotel is not operating as it would normally but everyone has been so very helpful. Your food is delivered to your door., towels changed every three days and new linen once a week With the Covid 19 restrictions in place the hotel has a great courtyard where you can be escorted to do your daily exercise.

We were able to order in Uber Eats for a change of pace and also delivery from a local supermarket. The hotel offers a limited selection of very good red and white wine which we did enjoy. You can also order in from Dan Murphy's, they will hold the wine for you and send up a maximum of 2 bottles of wine per day which I think is very reasonable.

We wish to thank all the team at the Rydges for helping make our stay as enjoyable as possible and their willingness to help wherever possible. We have stayed here previously and will definitely be returning as a proper hotel guest in the future. Such a great location as well.

I stayed in a suite for a couple of nights for my birthday weekend and it was amazing! Beautiful and comfortable suite, and gorgeous view. Birthday treats were waiting for me when I got to the suite. I spoiled myself with room service and in house movies. The lady at reception was fantastic. Overall it was exactly what I needed. I would absolutely stay here again (I already have another booking). The only thing I would see needs improvement is the phone line for room service, it would usually take a few tries before someone answered and on one occasion the staff member who brought one of my orders to the suite was unfortunately a bit cranky.

Looking for a nice location with simple yet well appointed rooms (the big screen TV was a nice feature). No fuss but service is there if you want it. I like their green approach, not only can you forgo daily cleaning, but you get a bonus food voucher for doing so. A bit of a bottleneck at the lifts for checkout times, but overall pleasant experience.

Not much to review as we were only in South bank for 18 hours. Liked it enough to book Valentine's Day there though!

I've eaten at this restaurant many times and it is one of the best in Brisbane. Awesome wine selection. Very knowledgeable staff. It's expensive but you get what you pay for in this world.

Lovely hotel and great staff, as the aircon system was new we experienced a lagging issue which took at least 24hrs to fix with multiple conversations, which is completely understandable but relatively irritating. The staff comped us one night for free, as a result of my partner writing a long, polite complaint letter requesting a discount due to the issue.

Rooms were clean and the hotel in good repair. Close to attractions and dining in Southbank. Just a short walk to the CityCat and public transport network.

Attended a wedding hosted at the rooftop room of Rydges and the view was spectacular, could see the whole city from the room and that really made for a special night. The facilities were clean, food was good and the space was fantastic. Would love to come for another event again!

We love staying here, the staff are lovely and excellent service. Rooms are always clean and we will always stay at Rydges anytime we are in Brisbane.

A great location near Southbank and the hotel had good facilities. The valet parking service is quite useful.

We had a wonderful stay. The only thing was when we checked in we were not made aware of the inclusions of our package so we ordered what we thought was provided for free only to be told that we should of called down to reception after arriving to our room. I think Reception Staff should advise guests of their package inclusions and how they get their entitlements upon check in, rather than leave the guests guessing what to do?. We were given a child's meal free upon check out, but I was not happy that we were not informed. Besides that the room was clean, comfortable and beautifully presented. Room Service was awesome. Love the Rydges Priority Guest Rewards, as it offers so much more than other hotels.

Loved the location, quick check in, easy parking and valet service, great rooms. Nice pool and bar but the pool was closed for maintenance, very disappointing. The staff at the pool bar was very arrogant. There were 4 people behind the bar at 11:45am and i came with my friends to have some drinks and nibbles, they made me wait until 12pm to order a beer, they didn't come to me to take the order, 4 people were just standing there inside the bar and i was the only client outside waiting to have my drink! Poor service! Not what you expected from a 5 star hotel!

If the quality of the buffet breakfast determines where you stay, you MUST try Rydges! It trumps every buffet brekky we've ever had, and the coffee is exceptional. We stayed an extra night so we could do it all again. Indulgent I know. The staff are efficient and super friendly. That barista, honestly, she's special! If I ever have my own coffee shop, I'm poaching her. Well done!!!

Received an upgrade to a King Suite which was fantastic. Dinner at Bacchus was awesome, best service ever.

We were there for a conference the whole thing was seamless and the staff fantastic helping us with all our gear. Really went above and beyond. Have another conference later in the year looking forward to staying again!
