Always excellent service, immaculately kept rooms. Only reason why I would mark down slightly is due to mains on the menu not being served with veg/salad, they are additional. Otherwise food definitely tastes and is presented good. Keep up the good work Rydges.

The hotel is beautifully appointed. Clean, comfortable and in a perfect location to enjoy the buzz of being part of the whole WoW experience

Room was okay, big and well appointed but the bathroom was a bit old. Service could have been improved

Nice modern hotel. Does what it says on the box. Bar restaurant on bottom floor. Not the best location for town but Wellington is so small it is only a 15 min walk into Courtney place.

Nice place. Quiet, comfortable bed, spacious room. Excellent price when I booked. Very convenient to the train station. Decent selection of whisky in the bar. Breakfast is ok, but quite overpriced.

Can never give a five star rating when people with disabilities are treated like second class citizens. Work colleague gets great views on 14th floor, I get 4th floor overlooking the street. He gets choice of beds. I get no choice then slugged $50.00 extra per night because I can't share a bed due to chronic pain. The room wouldn't have been accessible in a chair anyway. But at least the shower worked for me. When I have finished building my hotel, you can come and stay and see how it is done. I have money to spend, it shouldn't be so hard to travel.

Awesome we arranged early checking and got it. Room clean and tidy. Not ideal if you have your own car. However close to everything. Our room was very hot when we returned as we opened the curtains and hard to cool room quickly as air con was weak.

Really upscale place but staff are balanced in their approach to service.
I had a fantastic martini; their spirits collection is a real treat.
Fair prices for such a nice place in Wellington.

Had a good stay here. Rooms were a decent size and had own kitchens. The breakfast is awesome, you won't need lunch!

We happened to stay here during a 7.8 magnitude earquake (the Kaikoura Quake). Staff went above and beyond, thanks to the chef lady who helped comfort my youngest kid who was very frightened. F&B manager also really helpful. The hotel was very understanding of our situation and made things easier for us.

Whenever we visit Wellington, our go to Hotel is Rydges in Featherston St and we always enjoy our stay but we just wanted to make a special note about our recent Stay from the 5th Feb through to the 12th. We rushed down to Wellington and booked into Rydges at very short notice, then due a death in the family, needed to extend our stay - the staff were absolutely lovely and very accomodating in many ways which made a difficult time just a little bit easier for our family. Thanks guys!!!

The staff were so kind and thoughtful, leaving a bottle of bubbles in our room to celebrate our engagement. Views from the room were spectacular. Easy walk to central Wellington.

Great service, room was heated on arrival and I suggest turning on your TV for a convenient explanation of what they have to offer.

Their website says unlimited free wifi. Not true. 2 GB limit.
The gym is a treadmill and a bike and barbells up to 5 kg.
Otherwise the rooms and restaurant are nice.

I have stayed at Rydges countless times for business purposes and have never been let down. The rooms are excellent - I have stayed in basic rooms as well as top-floor balcony rooms and all are great. The balcony rooms/higher in price could have better general facilities (TV) but other than that I have no negative feedback about Rydges whatsoever - excellent hotel for comfort, central location, great restaurant on the ground floor... what more could you want!

Nice tidy well keeped rooms and super helpful staff.

Stayed on a Family Therapy Package. Everyone very happy. We all enjoyed the pool, spa pool and sauna. Supplies in the room were plentiful. The breakfasts were just amazing....ate far too much :o)

Although, the internet would not work from my room, I had to open the door and stand in the door way to get the free wifi to work. I believe the walls and the door is just too thick to get the signal through it. I had good signal strength BUT the speeds was unusable. This room is the furthest away from the Internet Access Point which is situated in the hallway half way down towards the lifts.

Best breakfast I've ever had at a hotel. Good pool, room is clean ,modern and comfortable. Staff and friendly and helpful.

Used as a conference facility. Large conference rooms with good AV setup, good catering and still space to mingle in the foyer areas.
Only a couple hundred metres from the main Wellington train station and waterfront area so nice and central.

Wish I stayed somewhere else ... Rude staff .. car valet service slow and poor not worth the $50 a day .. total ripoff ... Rooms small and not very clean .. asked for clean towels but did not arrive ... Gonna stay at the Inter Continental next time

Nice place with a great restaurant. Quiet and comfortable. Just make sure you get the parking sorted. Book the valet parking ahead. Having to organize on street parking is a pain. And expensive. 9 bucks for 2 hours. If you use the car fine but leaving it there all day . . .

Great stay..bed very comforttable...only problem was we booked 2 rooms and only 1 room had free breakfast...a bit odd...

A great place to stay, close to Govt and the best hotel brekkie I've ever had in NZ! I'll be back in September and October.

The room is comfortable. The kitchen is very dark and not so well equipped. There is not enough lighting in the entire room.

I'd say this is a four star place but I had a three star experience. On arrival at 2pm was told valet was full, go park on the street. Oh but street parking is busy and you have to move every two hours. Room was an accessible room but not well designed so shower splattered all over the bathroom and kitchen lacked most stuff it needed. Otherwise was clean and breakfast was good.

Great Hotel. Super well located and close to most attractions in Wellington. Large, comfortable and clean room. Breakfast also offers a good variety. Very attentive staff and a concierge that solves everything for you.

Rooms nice but mirrors are unclean and there was hair in the shower that did not belong to us. Room service had no children s options, told us something was one thing then sent something else then messed up our order.

A trip for business and pleasure. As it was school holidays I thought I would treat our family away for a few nights. Check-in was smooth, warm and welcoming... top marks. As parking is very limited we decided to keep it parked for the entire stay and just walked or utilized the amazing corporate cab services that were always readily available at the door.

We had an Executive suite on the higher floors. Partial views of the harbour towards Te Papa. Fantastic views of the Bee Hive and surrounding areas. Immaculate and tidy on entry.

Downside:

When we turned in for the night we noticed very minor stains like a coffee or chocolate drink had spilt. It was very minor. We never mentioned it as it was minor (about the size of a 10cent coin) but the bed still looked fresh and crisp.

Also when paying over $300+ a night I guess I do expect my room to be fully serviced. We had no toilet paper by day 2 and they weren't replenished when our room was made up. It seemed that little things like the coffee, tea and milk etc were also reduced a little bit more each day we stayed. Apart from that these rooms are well equipped. Fantastic washer/dryer. Awesome shower pressure. Modern and cosy.

Robes were available in our room for use. My son had a bath and went to put one on afterwards. He mentioned it smelt like cigarettes. We ignored his concerns until he put his hand in the pocket and pulled out a lighter and a snotty rag. We immediately pulled it off him and threw it on the ground and removed the second robe from the wardrobe also. I did mention it to reception. The woman on the desk said she will make a note of it. I don't really need to exclaim how uncomfortable and disgusting this made us feel to know that these items were used and just hung back in the wardrobe. Not cool at all.

Room service food prices are on par with most restaurants. Not delivered as hot to the room as I have had at other hotels and would have liked but in saying that if you want it fresh out the kitchen walk down to the restaurant. Portlanders is FANTASTIC! Breakfast is INCREDIBLE! And the morning chef is polite, welcoming - a good all round down to earth bloke who had that kitchen rockin' and rollin'.

Unfortunately because of the robe incident in particular I am not sure if I would return. You hear of things like this happening all the time and I never thought that would happen to us. It does kind of blow our confidence in Wellington Rydges and also other hotels because on this one incident - I feel terrible saying that as I NEVER give negative feedback.

Without the downsides a stay at Wellington Rydges can be pleasurable.

Have stayed here a few times and service is always good. You can have your car valet parked and it will be bought for you promptly when needed. Very comfortable bed with usual hotel offerings. There is a bar if you fancy a drink at the end of the day and the buffet breakfast is reasonable with plenty of choice. The bus drops you from the airport quite close to the hotel, about a 2 minute walk from the stop. Being in the city, it's only a brisk 15 minute walk to the museum

Excellent spot although the gym is very shabby. Having said that they give you access to a local gym.

Warm, soft, inviting beds. Tidy and modern decor. Staff went above and beyond to help me. In-room dining had a great selection. Only complaint was air conditioning, which was lack luster.

Great room. Fantastic restaurant. Views. Handy to central city sights. Friendly service. Any requests attended to quickly. Valet parking.

Great place to stay we will there for 4 days

Was in town meeting friends for dinner check in was easy we were put on a top floor in a very nice room. Everyone pretty helpful with time changes in the foyer offering to carry out bags etc and topped off with a nice buffer breakfast.

Was great until I got poor customer service from the front counter woman. Not someone who should be greeting as a first impression.

Loved it wood recommend. Definitely stay again. A very friendly & welcoming groupe of people work here with a high standard of service. Thank you for a great weekend.
