Sauce on chicken was terrible. The mashed potatoes - all you tasted was salt. Someone else at my table said the same thing

We went there tonight (Saturday evening 6:45) and it was ok. My wife and I are hardcore Black & Blue fans. A few different friends of ours said Russell's was better than B&B so we gave it a shot. There's no comparison. Russell's is average. The atmosphere is ok, a bit gaudy and over-the-top but whatever. The food was average...my wife's steak came out medium rare when she asked for medium well (not a huge deal). We each ordered a special that sounded amazing yet we both sat there kinda shrugging our shoulders as we ate like "yeah, it's ok I guess". The service was slow. Like painfully slow to the point where I almost got up to see of someone could come wait on us. If I'm going to drop a couple hundred dollars on dinner, I hope it's better than average. I can understand that people really like it and overall, we had a nice night but it was not a worth the money in my opinion and I can't see us ever going back.

We went on a field trip yesterday with my son's school. What a great day! The park is beautiful and the food was amazing! The kids had a wonderful time and learned so much! Thank you, Mr. Salvatore for such an amazing day!

Food is excellent. Service a notch above. All our dinners we're perfect and the server anticipated our wishes with sharing the appetizer among the two couples.

We come here all the time, but after tonight, I never plan to return. We had been planning my wife's birthday dinner here for weeks...had the babysitter lined up, excited to come here and have a great meal, reservation was at 8. Got there at 8. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait, so we went to sit down in the lobby. 8:20 came and went, 8:30 came and went, 8:40 came and went, at 8:45, after we were sufficiently starving, we went up to the host, at which point, they told us they had been 'looking' for us for the past 20 minutes! pure confusion set in on our part, and after barely an apology on their part, they took us to our seats. We called the manager over, Jay, and asked what happened. His response? "we had went to the bar calling out for Laura multiple times, but we didn't hear any response..." ??? first off, the beeper never went off, 2nd, we were sitting in the lobby the entire time, literally 10 feet away from the bar, because the bar was literally full and didn't see anybody come by...a totally ridiculous statement. after he suggested that he would 'see what he could do', i told him that this was not a financial issue, and we simply wanted to hear them take responsibility for what happened, that they didn't really look very hard for us, and the beeper that supposedly wasn't working looked fine to us - light was on and everything
so he came back, offered a $25 gift certificate, and then advised us we can't use it the same night! which was even funnier...
needless to say, close to 1.5 hours after our initial reservation was, we finally got our food, after we were officially starving, and the experience was totally ruined....waiter was really not friendly whatsoever, and nobody even brought my wife a candle with her dessert to offer her congratulations on her birthday...
Really not impressed with what happened there tonight. As a physician, when my office makes mistakes or things don't go right, I/we apologize, which is all that needed to be said here. rather than coming up with all sorts of reasons why it was 'our fault', accepting some responsibility for what happened is all that needed to be said. i wasn't looking for any financial compensation, or anything of the sort, just a simple, i'm sorry things didn't go right, we'll do better next time would have went a long way...instead it ruined what was suppose to be a night out to celebrate my wife's birthday and left a very sour taste in our mouths. needless to say, i returned the gift certificate on the way out.

One of the best retaurants in the area. The dinner for 2 special is a surprisingly good deal for the quality of the food. Highly recommend the filet and lamb.

Terrible. I don t know who created this stupidity, but in a large dinner party you only have 3 options to choose from. Absolutely idiotic. Will never spend a cent here.

Fantastic place 5 stars.Room and service and food are fantastic. But sadly,we woke up 7a.m Valentine's day no hot water..No shower and no romantic jacuzzi for send offs.Called front desk and complaint and all she said was we know about it and working on it..No apology..We dressed and left.

We are new to the area and it was a very special night with our three sons visiting us at the same time so we decided to dine out. It was a perfect evening. The food was amazing and delicious and everything was cooked to perfection. The portions are very generous too. The wait staff were professional, courteous and made the evening an enjoyable one for us all.It is without a doubt - the best restaurant in NY.

I don't know how often I've had a Prime filet as opposed to a choice cut but there is definitely a huge difference in taste. The filets at Russel's melt in your mouth. Lots of servers to wait on you hand and foot. It was excellent.

Had a great dinner and stay for Valentine's weekend.

Spent the weekend at a nearby hotel and decided to come over here for our anniversary dinner. Great choice. My steak was amazing and the veggies perfect. What a great waiter we had which made the dining experience even better.

I couldn't of imaged celebrating my birthday with my beautiful wife anywhere else. The food was cooked to perfection! You could tell they used fresh ingredients. Our server Steve was the best along with the other staff. Everything Was Perfect. Just Perfect. It's just like what Russell says on his commercial "Be Our Guest and Let Us Do The Rest". My wife and I visited last Wednesday evening. The accommodations were spectacular. The star of the show was the dinner. Our server Jon provided the best customer service at a restaurant I ve ever experienced, truly first class. Our steaks were unbelievable and cooked to perfection. Can t wait to come back to visit and enjoy this one of a kind place.

Arguably not only the best steakhouse and seafood restaurants in Western New York, but probably the best restaurant in the area. Russell knows how to run a hotel and restaurant. Service is top notch, never disappointed. Thank You. You truly are the best in what you do!

I have dined here several times and no experience is better than the other. CONSISTENT excellent service and food. Every waiter has a special quality and personality that make them stand out from the rest. The drinks, food and desserts are always heavenly! I can't wait until I come back again!!

Awesome steaks and they know how to cook them medium rare. A few items were a little salty for my taste but I think that's how most people season their food now.

Russell's does EVERYTHING right!!! We ordered Russell's Filet and the 14 oz. NY Strip dinner specials. The chef choose sides to enhance the meat, which was cooked to perfection. I love my filet Med/Rare and my husband order his Med/Well. Both were 2" thick and wonderful! Hubby said it was the best steak he's ever had! Mine was, melt in your mouth, perfect. The sides were presented beautifully, the steaks being the centerpieces. The service was impeccable. Each person was knowledgeable and very personable, not distant or aloof. We never had an empty glass. My husband ordered their onion soup au gratin and savored each cheesy bite. I would love to order Russell's Dinner for Two on our next visit so I will save room for one of their scrumptious desserts. If you're looking for dinner perfection, Russell's goes above and beyond expectations. Reservations are the norm, call a week or so ahead. Enjoy!

The chicken oscar is very good but the chefs have a tendency to overcook all the chicken on the menu so that it is very dry with no flavor. The crab meat is excellent here. The male servers and bussers are weird to say the least, they just don't understand fine dining etiquette. They will rush if you even if you are clearly not finished eating. The shrimp tastes fishy like it's been frozen for years. The macaroni and cheese is dry and bland. The asparagus is soggy and unappealing to the eye. I would stay away from this place because most of their food is garbage and the customer service is sub par. There's much nicer five star restaurants downtown or down the street. And avoid the maitre d Jaysin at all costs, he is a grown man that acts like a child. He is definitely not mature for his age

The food was amazing. Forgot to make reservations when I booked the hotel and restaurant. They were very accommodating and found us a booth near the bar which was awesome. The waiter Chris M was probably one of the best waiters I've ever had. He earned his tip!

Russel's is the place for the best food, service, and atmosphere. Makingk the comparison between Russel's, The Chop House, and Salvatore's, Russel's is by far the best in all three areas. Another excellent anniversary dinner! Thank you Russel; you're the best!

Outstanding! We went there to celebrate my birthday. The attention to detail was very evident. I ordered Russell's favorite, a filet mignon with asparagus and stuffed tomato, delicious!!! Our waiter Allen was so attentive to our needs, we loved it.

My wife and I had an absolutely incredible experience. The wait staff are fine-tuned, masters of their craft. They take pride in their work and it shows. The meal was wonderful. Everything was prepared perfectly and tasted delicious.

Good food. Would have been nice if the waiter didn't keep looking at our group as if we didn't belong there. LOL Just because we are the youngest ones there (22/21/21/19) does not mean we should be ignored and treated as if we don't belong there.
Anyway, great to see Mr.Salvatore still on the floor and in great shape.

The best bone in ribeye i have ever tasted, including Mortons! My faher was the best meat cutter in Buffalo, and i know my meats, i lived in nyc for 20 years,,, this is the BEST!

It is a pricey dining experience, but let me tell you it is worth it! I have eaten here several times since it opened and I cannot tell you how awesome each time has been, as you will have to go yourself. Let me tell you the meat is hand picked, and the different choices of sides are all amazing but my favorite is the Seafood MAC & Cheese!! Deserts are amazing, and the wait staff are so friendly and knowledgeable that it will be your favorite fine dining experience. The icing on the cake is meeting Russell as he comes by every table and says hello and will answer any and all questions. Amazing!!!

Really great place for a nice night out. The bartender was great at helping us pull off a gender reveal surprise with delicious blue drinks and the food was delicious. Largest lobster tail for surf n' turf ever.

We had a chance to use an 'expired' gift card and treated ourselves to a fantastic meal. The app Shrimp Cargot ,Stuffed Veal Chop and Russell's Filet with a Stuffed Tomato were all excellent. Jonathan,our server, suggested a Super Venetian red wine thst paired very well with everything. A night to remember.

This was our first time visiting, the food, the server and the atmosphere was fantastic! I thought it was so sweet that Russell himself was there to seat us also. If you leave there hungry, that's all on you. They give you an abundance of food.

I really needed the simple kindness of the gentleman who checked me in last night. This is a little too much info but I want you to know where I'm coming from. I just left a dv shelter due to the shelter at max capacity, yet super short staffed!!!! A shelter during the covid-19 pandemic equals chaos, toxic people,liars, cons, thieves. I was threatened, and violated when the only money had on me was stolen,the phone I bought because mine got smashed stolen,all the clothes I had to my name stolen, sneakers I bought while there because all I had was sandals,gone. So my few weeks have been rough to say the least! I just needed a break, I slept like a baby and so did the baby ,I didn't have to scrub my room down as it was already super clean. I was treated like a human being and was given so much information about packages,deals,dining,the history of the hotel and I actually felt important for a moment in time. You honestly never know what someone else could be going through and the smallest gesture, or just being kind, could make the biggest difference. So if your in the area and need a room don't stay anywhere else the value of the room and dinner voucher is an amazing deal. The room service was okay not as good as sitting at the restaurant

Not too happy! I called to make a reservation and told the woman on the phone it would be a party of 3! I also told her I was my birthday! She then asked me what did I want my card to say? I was a little confused! She stated she could put a card on the table that would say Happy Birthday Candy! So of course I agreed to that! I arrived! NO card was on the table! Our waitress was pleasant but talked really fast when explaining the menu and answering our Questions! As myself and my 2 other guest are waiting for menus, I observe some of the waiters bringing out birthday celebration plates with the nice lit sparkles in the center of the plate! The plate also had a nice piece of what appeared to be cheesecake! I was excited because I thought I would be getting the same! Instead I got a chocolate covered strawberry with a scoop of whipped cream! Needless to say I wasn t happy with my birthday experience at Russell s, and I was a little disappointed! Although the food was tasty, the portion sizes are small!
