I had a hernia surgery today and had the best service from the nurses Zee and shontell the students and surgeons Dr Veenstras team took very good care of me and even the gentleman that escorted me to my ride

My baby was delivered at Rush. What a horrible experience with the staff during my labor and recovery. I know that Rush is a teaching hospital however, you would think the doctors would teach the physician assistants how to communicate and work together effectively. Not the case. No one properly introduce themselves, different assistance would come in and out of my room with the same robotic verbatim speech. The attending doctor did not read my medical records before talking to me and stated that I would need to have a full hysterectomy and blood transfusion during my C section procedure. Which was not the case. (perhaps he read the wrong medical chart) He apologized for giving me incorrect information. However, at this point I was devastated. During my recovery process and stay at Rush the Nurses weren't very helpful and took quite a while to respond to my needs. I do not recommend this hospital if you plan to deliver your child.

The Urology dept. drags an excellent hospital down to below mediocre. The staff in Urology are incompetent liars with questionable morals and character that make great doctors in the dept. look bad. If the hospital can let Urology dept. fester in such a way, you have to question and be leary of all other departments in this establishment. I have cancelled everything concerning myself and Rush urology. Highly considering cancelling everything else dealing with Rush. Including, ENT, gastroenterology dept, and physical therapy.
I was there for some testing and Im grateful for the Nursing staff that was there to assist in my testing and noticed that there was something wrong with my heart once I was on the monitor. She was quick to cancel my procedure and have me assessed by the cardiac team. Im grateful, saved my life.
The lack of communication and transparency at this hospital would be my biggest complaint. I was asked if they could do a procedure on my dad but was not told until after he died that they werent sure he would even survive the procedure.
Went into Emergency for an Ulcerative Colitis flare up I was having, within 10 minutes I was hooked up to an IV and and hour and half later I had a ct scan to see what was going on, they kept me for 3 days and took care of me so well, Doctors cared, sat there and made sure I understood what was going on, and they let me know things I didn't even ask about. There was a lot of student doctors that came in I think I seen about 30 of them and at least 10 of them did the exact same preliminary tests, which got kinda annoying after awhile, but if it helps them then I'm ok with it. When I was discharged they made sure to give me everything they found out with me to give to my future GI doctor I was going to visit, which helped a lot, because my GI doctor wanted to order 3 different tests, but because they already did the tests at Rush I only had to do one they didn't test for.

This location was on the 4th floor, just off the walkway from the parking lot.
It s not fun sitting for 12 hours waiting for someone during their surgery. Having an experience that is convenient and somewhat comfortable is welcomed. I wish the chairs were softer to take a good nap.
Parking was very close and plenty of spaces available and the price was a reasonable $8.
The doctor and staff are very responsive regarding to your health and all appointments each time you call them.
I've been trying to reach my oncologist for 2 days thru various numbers provided for her on the Rush and Web MD websites. Not one is hers. it seems a very basic to get physician contact info correct on a website. what's up with this?

PAULA!!! (front desk of adult emergency) is the rudest person in the world. Speaking from a person in the beauty/restaurant business ! PAULA should be fired. Customer service is my career. I have been a Rush patient since 1993 and I was an HMO patient and came back as a PPO customer. I love my Doctors. Dr. Ervalino at Rush Anchor is intelligent and she truly is concerned with my wellbeing. My only complain is the medical billing system; Dual billing, expensive and confusing. My rating score goes towards the medical team. Rush billing system and service needs to be revamped.
ER is a joke. Literally the worst, waited over 6 hours and still waiting to even get looked at. Never coming back.
Worst hospital ever! Went to ER today at 10:30 a.m. for head trauma, nobody in waiting room, got taken in right away. Registration saw me immediately so they can charge me, after that I was stuck in a room for 45 minutes and nobody came. I heard plenty of nurses talking about their bad credit, how they work long hours and how they can t wait to go out to party. I pressed my call light that I had to find on my own and after 30 more minutes passed and nobody came I left. I came in for head trauma, you think these people would no that is a priority. I wasn t offered an ice pack or anything, I was bleeding from my head, I can t believe this hospital. So disappointed I would not take my dog here!

Took my daughter in she had a fever and rash I waited in the emergency room for 3 hours. Took her elsewhere and got taken care of right away.
I had kidney stone a few weeks ago, went to RUSH ER. I think they were more interest get insurance information and been paid than treat patient in such pain. Too many student doctor doesn't know what to do, the real doctor seems busy with other things. Not a good experience. BTW, I was shocked by the medical bill too. How regular Joe and Jill afford medical treatment in this country.
Well, Unfortunately... I had an Awful Experience at Rush Medical Center pertaining to my daughter, she was Almost KILLED...at Rush, it's a long story. I could write a book, and my son was born there too, I'll NEVER, EVER...GO TO RUSH AGAIN, EVEN IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT.
Drs always take their time seeing their patients. You show up 5 minutes late and they charge you $25-$100. Their office staff is rude, even in the individual suites! The Drs never respond to their messages on my chart or the calls made to their office. Terrible.
The ER is a joke. I saw 4 people before a Dr. One lady for my vitals who took notes, a nurse to get me in the room, a lousy resident who looked like she'd rather be elsewhere, billing to get my info, the resident again, and then finally a doctor he spent a total of 15 minutes with me. The ER had 2 other people in it! It was not crowded or even populated.
I had to repeat my symptoms over and over to each one, either no one communicated to the other or they didn't read the notes one of them took, they made me feel like a child making up reasons to be there. Really? I wanna be here on a Sunday during a holiday, missing the day off with family to make up excuses and pay you so I could sit here. Makes complete sense that I'd want to waste my time and money like that.
I wish I had all their names because they were all dismissive of everything I had to say. I could see the look of disbelief in their eyes. The resident damn near rolled her eyes at me. Oh but they made sure to send billing in my room to get my information and charge me money to sit there while they made a show of running around.
Spent over 3 hrs and $250 in the ER to be given water in a weird container, some saltine crackers, and some socks, just to be told they don't know what's wrong with me and to be prescribed Tylenol for no reason! I can't even take Tylenol! I told them that!
Overall upsetting experience.
It`s a medical center. Their cafeteria on the second floor does a good pasta dish on fridays

I am in room 31 in the emergency room . I received terrible service . The older African American nurse that was assign to me around 2 pm was very rude . I needed help and press the button on my bed , 20 minutes later came and yell at me saying what did I need ! She was busy. This hospital is ridiculous and unprofessional. Sitting here in this hospital is a big mistake . No one here takes responsibility or ownership. They don't care about the patients. Terrible!
Good Hospital for Heart or Cancer they give excellent services to there patients and on the US World News Report this Hospital Ranked no.2 in Illinois. There whole staff are nice they are really concern with People Health when they come to there Hospital. I highly recommend this place to families and friends

very worse. More then two weeks ago I made appointment to see endocrinologist. I received today call from some one telling me by mistake they book me with wrong doctor now I have to restart again and wait in line till September.

I would say go to hospital where patience has some human value and rush is not one of them. They do not apologies for their mistake they will shut you up for their mistake and they do not correct their mistake.

First i will start off with the good. Patience the nurses have and a listening ear as long as you keep low tone and little profanity if you are like I. As for as the doctors and how they make decision on prognosis, please understand this is a teaching hospital so the students are here to learn as the Dr.'s/facilities is here to teach and more focus on that then providing quality service. Its not about providing a service that benefit the patient it is more on teaching and making money then what is best OVERALL for the patient quality of health and the service the hospital provide. Just my experience. Quality of the patient over all health is not the focus
very good experience overall This Is really how it should be, From registration to the OR staff and the 9 north staff every one took really good care of us . I came in for hernia repair surgery every one was so helpful a special shout out to nurse james , kim and student Emily., they are really stand out staff who go the extra mile. thanks so much for making my stay as comfortable as possible. being a heath care professional myself I realize sometimes our job can be difficult but it takes a certain type of person to do the job you guys are the best keep up the good work. I guess my only negative is the available places for food, for guess who don't want to leave campus. the restaurant that isthere is way over priced it was 7 dollars for 2 small cups of soup I don't want to come the hospital to visit or stay in our case for a week and spend a fortune for a meal

Friendly staff, great residents and doctors, got a diagnosis after almost two years of testing in 2 days here. So thankful for all they did for me.
I have never been to see a doctor here. However I tried cancelling an appointment I had and the operator was incredibly rude. I was going to go to get treated for a TMJ disorder. Mind you Rush has a TMJ therapist. The operator said she had "no idea what I was talking about" and couldn't get me the help I needed. All I wanted was to cancel that appointment! I ended up being on hold for a long time. I finally just left a voice message. I'm pretty sure I dodged a bullet at this place.
At times that your member of the family is admitted to a hospital your concerned is if given the best care from doctors, nurses and so with other staff. Doctors are really great, you can depend on them. We really appreciate with their expertise and knowledge on taking care of my husband. Nurses from ER , ICU and to Atrium South are great. Thank you very much. Nurses (RN) in Atrium South where my husband spend almost 3 weeks, we personally thank them for their care, namely: Mica, Elise, HsuanLing, Amal, Stephanie, Jenna, Danielle, Lili and PCT Chandra. Thanks you Rush Hospital for hiring this talented and caring nurses. All doctors, residents are wonderful. I feel safe that my husband is taking care by this wonderful staff.
I experienced excellent nursing & great care from my doctor.
VERY Slow experience with everything. Staff is inexperienced, young and rude. Doctors that will not come around and hold your test results for days. Rude nurses that talk down about patients in front of them. Nurses are more worried about talking about their life situation than immediate- care to high risk patients. If you have a concern it will be acknowledged and they will still discharge you with problems.
I gave birth to my baby girl here last month and I loved my experience! All the nurses and doctors were very nice. They made me and my family feel very comfortable. What I would say though is that they are charging me 75 dollars which I don t understand why when I have insurance :/
One of the best hospitals with physicians who care about your overall well-being. My doctor Usama Ahmad has been a shoulder to cry on and a compassionate person to say the least. I could never see myself going to any other hospital besides Rush.

I've been a very satisfied patient at Rush for over 20 years. It's a high quality medical center giving everyone the best of care.
They have a really good child psychiatric ward. I was inpatient there three times and it was the best psychiatric unit I've ever been in. The doctors and nurses there are especially lovely and they have stuff to do which is very nice and not always the case.
Okay, I give one star for the ladies in the scheduling department for being so helpful.

You have a wonderful commercial touting your NEUROLOGY DEPARTMENT. I have been waiting a YEAR, yes ONE WHOLE YEAR for an appointment to an MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SPECIALIST DR,. STEFOSKI.
I called in MARCH 2015 and was scheduled for SEPTEMBER 29 2015. In MID AUGUST 2015 I received a phone call cancelling the appointment with a message "someone will be in touch with the date rescheduled appointment." NO ONE CALLED. I called in November and received the same response. I waited another week and called again only to be told that someone would call with my next appointment. I finally got a call on DECEMBER 3 OR 10 (a Thursday) asking me to come in on Friday because the doctor decided to open a Friday for appointments. However, because I needed an MRI prior to the appointment (my last one was almost 2 years old at this point), I never got a call back to see if the doctor would see me anyway.
So I immediately schedule an MRI on Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) so I can take advantage of deductible issues. Now it is MARCH 8 2016. I have incurred a bill for $950, to appease this doctor, who has no time to see me and I cannot get a reduction on the bill because Affiliated Radiologists does not offer any type of financial assistance.

Maybe a good Hospital and pretty good staff, But my nefew has been in there for over 3 weeks and have not received any of his Cards that where sent to him.Yes they have moved his room from icu since he has been there.It cant be that hard to put the name in the computer and send to the right room.They lost his stuffed animal he had just received for Christmas .

Horrible experience went to rush for lung surgery in 2015, the nurse I had was terrible, and I'm still getting bills even though my insurance covered it they try to make you pay twice for the service you receive. To everyone that reads this if you find me dying in the street DO NOT SEND me back there I'd rather die.
Unfortunately the name doesn t live up to the actual quality care they provide. Having a culture of values thats a fake charade and not truthful and beating around the bush doesn t constitute good care.
I saw a sleep doctor at Rush for insomnia. The visits themselves were fine, but what was not OK was having to pay the doctor's charge and then on top of that the Rush facility fee for every appointment. Rush's website states facility fees are meant to cover costs such as nursing, supplies, office space. Makes sense; however, the facility fee was actually a higher charge than the doctor visit itself. Hundreds of dollars each time. And when you see a sleep psychologist, there is absolutely no ancillary staff involved, no nurse, no medical assistant, no supplies used (even vitals are not taken). In fact, most of the time there was no one at the front desk so I could not even get parking validated. I am happy to pay the doctor, but paying Rush a charge higher than the doctor's charge just for the privilege of sitting in a room with lights and heat on is unacceptable. I will never go to Rush for outpatient visits in the future because of this. There are plenty of clinics and private offices where facility fees are not charged.
The doctors are great, but because this is "Rush" the prices are EXTREMELY HIGH!! I used to see my doctor for 3 years at Loyola medical, ever since he came to Rush, my doctor visit went from $142 to $859!! Go elsewhere, unless you are absolutely sure insurance will cover the majority of your bill... buyer beware!!

Worse experience I ve ever had! I stayed for almost a week. I was in serious pain the entire time. I was just told how sorry they were that I was having such a painful experience! Every doctor blamed another for my lack of comfort. No one addressed my pain issue. I finally demanded to be discharged because I was managing my pain better at home! This hospital is a joke!

Although I was here on Oct 18 from 3pm to 230am, waiting time was long but they took care of me very well.in fact they need more gowns as they went out of gowns. I was there for covid19 test, and stomach pain Thank God step by step, now I knew what caused stomach pain. Also thank God I had no covid19 tested negative.God provided me the best doctor to take care of me.no complaint.and I get my medical report within two days
My daughter got Excellent care @ Rush after her 2012 stroke. Cared for by stroke & heart MD's Heart care MD was Chester Kavinski He was super great in every way... Even worked with her uncooperative HMO to guarantee good care . Thanks to all the doctors & nurses who cared for my daughter age 38.
Rush hospital being a university hospital should be very much ashamed of taking advantage of family members who receive an emergency call to rush for their family members aide on parking. They do not express to family members parking security stops at 8pm to validate parking. It is quite sickening to think this hospital charges for coming to the aide and be with your family through the medical emergency in fact I am mortified to think how the hospital would think it s acceptable. Shame on Rush.
I took my mother to Rush Surgical Center and she received outstanding service! Peter was her nurse and I could not talk say thank-you again! Her Dr, was a saint and I wish her the best in her career! Again thank-you to such a loyal staff! Mom was so happy!
Poor service. I went through the ER none of the staff introduced themselves!! Terrible bedside manner. I advised the student that he would not get a blood return through my arm, he completely ignored what I said!!!! I was then diagnosed with having a missed miscarriage prescribed meds and sent home. I called to advise them that I thought I was having an allergic reaction only for them to say, there s nothing they could do . These people could care less about the patients they are only there for a check and that obvious.
Not coming ever to the emergency here i had surgery and came to the Er and bad service had to go to st anthony hospital and they took good care of me and fast clinics are good but emergency room noooo
I took my daughter for an ear infection and was In and Out within the hour. Everyone was great and efficient.
My grandma just passed away today from this hospital bad experience she was fine after a good surgery then she ended up with pneumonia an infection and went into a coma how can that happen you people killed her
Well I guess emergency doesn t really mean emergency to Rush. I arrived at 10:30 pm it s now 4 am I m still in pain. I just got up and left. If u get hurt DO NOT COME HERE you will not be seen in a reasonable time terrible
I went to visit a gynecologist. I didn't feel comfortable with this physician! He became offended and told me I wasn't able to schedule with anyone else because he's the head doctor. He also explain while I was sitting in the exam room with him, if someone did see me in his clinic I wasn't able to schedule up front. Reason being, the receptionist job their is to assist him. He suggest I call them from home. What sense did that make because I was sitting in the office that I had to callback. I afterwards seen two physicians from his clinic. One said he felt if he took me on as a patient the doctor may become offended because it's his boss. The other lady physician wanted to take me to another hospital she works at that has an awful reputation. All based on the head physican being upset! Long story short this doctor made human relation believe the doctors need his advice on my condition. This doctor was giving me a laparoscopy. So these doctors are not capable without him??? His beside manner was awful on delivering why he felt I need a hysterectomy before ever having kids and I'm so young! I defined need another opinion from another rush doctor.
He was extremely sure and schedule me twice for this procedure. I didn't have it because I felt his behavior was unprofessional. Needless to say, I left rush untreated. Condition has worsen! I'm with a new hospital that's charging my insurance all over again for same test rush doctor did! I'm so upset!
Thankful for Dr.Samer Al-Khudari an amazing Dr who truly cares about his patients and provides the best care. and for also reffering me to Dr Brain Kim another Dr who I am thankful for ..the best team of doctors who I am thankful for saved my life.

I believe Rush Hospital Killed my mother as an experiment and experience for a Dr then when she was dying and not healthy enough to be moved and her heart had stopped the night before they moved her to another hospital and she flat lined again they also kept all of her family from visiting her I'm deeply saddened by this not only because it's my mom but because poor people with government insurance are never given a fighting chance. I pray for the other families that have gone through the same thing it's hard to go against a billion dollar industry a chop shop my opinion matters Rush and I pray God forgives me because I hate them all
