Its very clean place. Nice in the inside. But sometimes you dont always get the nicest nurses or doctors there. There's been times where the nurse has been really nice! And been doing an excellent job, always aware of your needs and always checking up on you. And there are doctors who really want to figure out what the problem is, and try to check up on you as often as they can. In the other hand there are nurses who seem not to care and seem to be in a bad mood. They have a serious face and a very bad attitude like if they dont want to be there, which I can understand but its their job to meet the patients needs. And some doctors are rude and they seem to just want to get you out of there instead of trying to figure out whats wrong. For instance, one time I took my friend for a very bad stomach pain, the doctor ask only a few questions and was a bit rude, and just discharged her. Later on she went back for the same reason and she requested a ultrasound and she had gallstones. So therefore you dont know who or what to expect. Overall the hospital itself is nice and clean and if they were to hire more people with better attitude and that care for their patients it'll be an excellent place.

My great niece was born there on March 29th 2019.she was born with drugs in her system.they said if she didn't show signs of withdrawal within 48 hours that was great if she didn't show them by day 5 she wouldn't be put on anything.well the 7th day they put her on morphine every 3 hours and then cut her off cold turkey.well then she was showing signs because they had her addicted to morphine.then they put her on Claudine because they said her brain was to active i asked if they did a test on her for her brain to be to active and they said no.a new born baby will drink 1 to 2 ounces of formula they put a feeding tube in and if she only drank 2 ounces they would put 3 more ounces in the feeding tube.if a baby is crying sneezing coughing fussy spitting up are all signs of a baby with withdrawal.those are all signs a normal baby does.i asked if she can be transferred to kankakee and they said kankakee don't take drug addiction baby's.well that was a lie.they said she was never scored on trimmers and thats one of the first signs.im not happy.we went to visit and her little who who and but was packed with dry poop and desestine in all the cracks.i can go on and on about what was done to her while she was in there care.they go off of Ohio state laws and not our own and it even states in the Ohio laws NOT to mistaken what a normal baby does to a drug addiction baby.when i took her to her dr.2 days after her being released her dr said she is drinking way to much which i knew and cut her back.it makes me sad to know her mother put her through this but the hospital made it worse.i pray that another baby or family won't go threw what we have.i would never go back to rush even if i was dying.

I would give zero stars except the nursing staff we wonderful. My son
was transferred to Rush from a local hospital for a breathing problem.
They were very attentive at first running every test they could think of
on his brain and body. But when his tox screen came back positive for
methodone (which the resident said is a false positive from a medication
he was taking) after that they could have cared less and their rude
attending staff implied that it was all from a drugs and there was no
need for him to be in the hospital. My son does not do drugs, and when
we told them that they said well that is all they can sermize and there
was nothing they could do for him. So one minute they want him in
ICU doing every expensive test they could think of then the next
minute it was go you are out of here. Terrible treatment!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went there in December, Still having issues with these idiots. Requested medical records through insurance because of a "coding issue" I went in unable to use my left arm because of a ganglion cyst that had pinched a nerve. I have been going back and forth with them and have been transferred now for the past 45 minutes.... and now a voicemail... fantastic, what a great way to spend an hour (just today) If you can avoid this place I suggest going elsewhere

I went to Rush because years ago Dr. Verma did my knee surgery. I have had horrible lower back issues for about a month causing pain in my legs and weakness. I originally went to Sherman, got a MRI and couldn't find anything. The pain continued to get worse. I figured what better place than Rush because they are supposed to be the best. Anyway, went to ER because I couldn't take it anymore. Never Ever again!!! I told them my whole story. What I've done, the meds (including pain meds) I was on and was begging for them to help. I was put in a hallway, given a few shots of pain meds and they got my results from Sherman. I was told there was nothing they could do. I was in tears begging them not to send me home and to help. The pain was excruciating. I had meds at home. I even explained it could be coming from my knee up because I'm overdue for a full knee replacement. I was there 9 hours with no help but a few shots. Then because I was so upset and trying so hard for someone to listen the next thing I know there are 5 yes 5 security guards telling me I have to leave!!! Wow!! I could only think of 2 reasons they got rid of me. 1- no insurance or 2- They thought I was looking for drugs ( which I already told them I had at home and weren't working). But to be escorted out while you are still in the amount of pain you came in and not listened to at all is so NOT acceptable by any means! I used to praise this hospital. It's unbelievable they would treat someone this way!

I wish I can give them a lower score. This hospital is terrible. I've been here with my child for 5 hours and the mom next us has been here 8 hours. I've seen so many nurses and doctors just stand there and do nothing. They have lost patience and just asked everyone if they seen their patient.

When i asked why they took so long, they said they didn't have enough rooms. It's a big hospital!

I am from New Jersey, when my doctor said I was going for my operation he said you can go to 1 or 2 places. California or Chicago.. I asked why He said because the east coast is way behind. They were just starting to perform this operation in NYC. So I asked him which he recommends? He said Chicago. SoI was at Rush in 1988 for the operation to correct my Seizure Disorder. This Facility was top of the line (back in 1988). The outcome is I"m seizure free since the operation. I still have seizure activity but that is controlled by medication.. Over all That operation saved my life. I work and always have before and after the operation.

I have no major complaints about the quality of care I received - this rating is due to how the services were billed. I had two visits: the first was to an ENT, with whom I had 10-15 minutes of face time. He did a nasal endoscopy and couldn't identify any issues, then ordered a CT and referred me to an allergist. The total cost of this visit was $1693.

The second visit was with the allergist, who asked me a long series of questions, then ordered a skin scratch allergy panel. The total cost of this visit was $3130, the allergy test alone cost $2720. Sources online said these types of allergy tests can cost from $60-$300.

I checked the CPT codes for every procedure listed on my bill and they all seemed to be accurate. I called the billing office and explained everything mentioned above, and asked why the procedures, especially the allergy test, were so expensive, but they just told me it was fair price and that they couldn't do anything more.

Do not go there if you are a diabetic. They do not know how to effectively manage it. Told me and my husband 250 was an okay sugar level. Dream on. Did not count carbs for their menu....I could go on and on. Gave my husband the wrong trays several times. Did not even OFFER him diabetic menu for 3 days despite knowing he was a diabetic. (He was in heart failure and kidney failure after a heart attack).

Specialties did not communicate. We got conflicting messages on the SAME day, depending on who was talking to us. This was while in cardiac intensive care.

Came here for the ortho clinic but they are only open one day a week...
Third hospital I went to for my broken arm
Doctor looked at the xrays said it's not that bad but not what was specifically wrong with it
When I said I'd go to the ER he discouraged me and told me to wait and come back when the ortho department was open.
But the one doctors trip seamed to me more important than quickly telling me what exactly was wrong with it...
Very disappointed and cried the entire way home...

I have been a patient at Rush for over 5 years now in various departments... All I can say is the treatment I receive here is incredible. Yes the ER is slow at times, but there are much worse with in the city, believe me. I truly feel blessed to have so much support. From the valet people to the nurses and doctors, you can truly tell most people are here for the love of the job.

Came into ER with severe back pain, history of broken vertebrae. Made me wait in hard wheel chair locked, for 5 hours in pain just getting worse people came and left nobody checked, I would have been better to lay on the floor. I asked one person about a cot and they said they were for cardiac only. What if they paralysed me.

Great hospital! The doctors here are all top-notch and really know what they're doing. They genuinely want you to get better. The nursing staff however, is very hit and miss here, which is why I had to knock off a star.

This hospital is a load of crock. Not only do they not give you up front charges, they continuously mislead you into what you owe. They have multiple billing departments who are not on the same page and do not post all your charges on their "easy to use Mycharts" account page. If the amount owed is not paid with in 2 weeks of invoice they will send debt collectors after you because they do not want to follow up on payments.

I originally went to this office because I had friends working at the hospital that had said this place was a good and friendly hospital with reasonable prices. I have had to prove them wrong with a medical bill not reflecting the tests I needed to have done. When I confronted the Customer service group they said "We are more expensive because we are also a university". I find this logic flawed and unacceptable.

Do not use Rush, Do not use their associated groups. They will charge you every cent they can for unnecessary tests. I know I will be taking my health to more professional doctors and institutions from here on out.

So I went here after an accident in a class I had for work. I smashed my thumb and against my better judgment I went to the ER for X-rays to make sure I didn t do horrible damage. The Asian nurse that was in triage squeezed the hell out of my thumb without telling me what she was doing or why. Now I asked several other health care professionals what this would be about and all said I would say what I was doing and why. She was doing this as to punish me for seeking pain meds . As when she asked later what do I take for pain I said ibuprofen. See my finger was black and blue and not once did I ask for meds. She never apologized and explained what and why she did that. Never do you ever make a patient hurt on purpose unless it s to help. What was the reason she would do this please answer this for me!

This review is for the billing department and this has happened thrice in past three years.
Every year my annual wellness checkup is charged under wrong code which shows wrong balance due in my chart. My annual wellness checkup is completely covered by my insurance provider.
I had to work with my insurance and billing dept. for about 8 months last year to get it corrected and same thing has happened this year as well.

for my visit on Sept10th 2020, they have again send wrong charging code to my insurance.

This is frustrating and time consuming! (I'm not sure how many emails and calls I have todo to get it corrected this time :( )

If this continues I would probably change my health care provider!

We just came from the E.R. My daughter was brought by 911 because she collapsed while in a theater. Worse E.R. experience ever. The doctor initially thought that the urine haa not been collected. And when we said it's been 2 hours since we gave it to nurse Elizabeth then doctor said Lab was busy. Then when the results came, doctor said WBC count was elevated....she was shocked when I told that my daughter has been taking Ciprofloxacin and Flagyl for the last 10 days. Is it possible to still have elevated WBC in her pee? so did they tested the right specimen? I also notice that some nurses have very colourful nails! Not acceptable in healthcare practice.

My mom had surgery(not at rush) from breaking her leg to where the bone was sticking out of the skin. We have been concerned that she should get a second opinion on the work that was done to make sure her leg heals properly. She called Rush to schedule an appointment with the surgeon. She had to wait 6 months until the doctor would give her a time, so she waited. After 6 months she called again and the lady on the other end of the phone told her to explain her situation in further detail. The doctor said he wouldn't even look at it or schedule an appointment, no explanation given. She is in a lot of pain still and gets around like a 90 year old woman rather than a 55 year old. It hurts to see her like this and to have a second opinion would have been great since it's such a huge, life changing injury...smh

My husband went in for Bariatric Surgery and Dr. Myers and his entire team were amazing! They answered all of our questions, were always up front with us, there was never a time where I felt like I wasn t being told the truth. We had so many options for a local hospital, and Rush was the one that was the best choice for us, despite of the 2 hour drive, once a month for the past 8 months, it was the best experience! I am so thankful for Dr. Myers and his entire team, my husbands experience here was definitely made so much easier!
