Fantastic place for tea, elegant, great service, view of the Royal Mews. Above my high expectations.
Fantastic place for tea, elegant, great service, view of the Royal Mews. Above my high expectations.
Classic and historic hotel with plush, comfortable and practical rooms. Ideally located for the West of the city, providing peace in the parks outside Buckingham Palace as well as easy access to Trafalgar Square and Westminster. The service is exceptional will stay there again.
Everything that you would expect from a 5 star hotel
Unique high quality establishment. Would have got 5 stars but they didn't have decaffeinated coffee.
Beautiful brand hotel, all class, well appointed rooms, friendly professional service from the doorman to waiters. A real touch of class.
The whole experience was fantastic! The cakes and sandwiches were to die for! And the service was excellent! So friendly, well worth going to and the view of the palace just across the road just made it perfect!
Best Hotel in London in my opinion. Service is always top class but delivered in such a friendly manner.
Nice and quiet atmosphere, food and drink were spotted on.
My stay at the rubens was excellent with a beautiful comfortable room exquisite food and picturesque surrounding I would whole heartedly recommend them t anybody who requires excellent standards
Lovely staff, well furnished rooms (although some more dated than others).
Stay was great and the service exceptional. Be prepared when you check in the pictures on the website are deceiving. Once in our room with a few bags we couldn't move. Space between the bed and the wall was tight. Once we spoke to the front desk they moved us without a problem. Guest Services ( Alice ) was a delight to speak to you and went above and beyond to accommodate us. It just goes to show you service is everything. London is wonderful and the Ruben made it even more special.
They were fantastic! Rooms were smart and the door man Stuart really paid attention to my mum's disability needs.
Very welcoming and friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble. But - drinks slow in coming, waited 35 minutes for our lunch order and had to ask when it would be served. Lovely food when it did arrive tho my toasted sandwich was cold. Really did not appreciate one of the staff hoovering around all the tables as we ate - seriously?
Fantastic stay in a great hotel. Great location. Staff were very friendly
Fabulous place. Had our works Christmas lunch here twice now. It's very plush!
Lovely hotel, and had an amazing Royal Afternoon Tea there.
A wonderful hotel with excellent staff who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The best location and as central as you can get for all the sights in the great city of London. I look forward to my next visit. 10/10.
Beautiful spot and the best customer service I have ever had, and excellent food as well. We stayed over the New Year s Holiday. It was a trip we will never forget.
Best afternoon tea experience I've had so far. Satisfying selection of both sweet and savoury as well as wide range of tea options. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Great service.
Spent our 30th Anniversary at the Rubens, amazing accommodations, helpful, courteous, professional staff, amazing food at the restaurant, breakfast and dinner, fabulous drinks and nibbles at the bar. Definitely recommend.
Had afternoon tea here. Not only was the food delicious and catered to our wishes (vegan and vegetarian), the staff was brilliant. So friendly and such good service. They all seemed very happy, and i really do hope that's the case :)
We had a great experience!
The place is very cosy, red and traditional looking, so if you're looking for something classical, this is the one.
The professionalism, cleanliness, and location is just amazing! For starters before checking in the door man is very helpful. He gave us very useful information about a few events going on near by. Front desk was very nice and helpful as well. The room was perfect. We had a awesome view of the royal mews from the top floor. Beds were like sleeping on clouds. Breakfast was made to perfection. We couldn't have been more impressed. Definitely staying here again.
Classic Double Room:
This room is very spacious and looks very luxurious, the bed is very comfortable and has lots of pillows. But the bed (comes with nightstands) is made of 2 single beds and the little crease can be annoying for some.
Has a desk for work purposes which is made of mirrors (fancy).
The bathroom has a walk-in shower and has all toiletries plus bathrobes available.
Hotel experience:
From the moment you walk in the hotel, you are welcomed by the staff and they make you to feel as comformtable as you please.
The breakfast is located on the ground floor and has a beautiful variety of food.
Also the people are kind enough to provide you with everything you need.
Personal experience:
I had a good stay after all, during the evening there were problems with the air conditioning but did not hesitate to switch my room so there wouldnt be any discomfort during the night.
Thank you to the wonderful staff and hospitality and enjoy your stay if you decide to!
A lovely setting for a "reunion" - and most delectable eats!
I went to eat at the restaurant of this magnificent hotel. It is really 100% British and the food is excellent. The staff are very pleasant and guide you in choosing your dishes. Maybe a little expensive but it is worth it.
Most excellent place to go and excellent location...people are so nice
Excellent location, 1 block to Victoria Station, across the street from the Royal Mews. A few short blocks walk to Buckingham Palace. Accommodations were lovely and clean. Excellent staff, very attentive and helpful. Definitely recommend, and would stay here again.
This is an amazing hotel very close to Victoria station in London. Once there, you feel like trapped on 18th Century. Walls are made of fabric and sheets have the R from Ruben's hotel broided on gold.
The beds are amazing and rooms are quiet. The breakfast included is very high quality.
Close to Buckingham Palace and Victoria Street Station for tube and train. Staff was excellent. Room not so great. Pricey for what you get. With the king bed, there was little room for anything else. No place to put a suitcase, except in knee hole of vanity/desk. Room due for refurbishment. Fabric arms of chairs quit dirty. Loose fixtures in the bathroom. Since we have stayed in the area previously, we know there are better deals with the same level of service with better rooms and close to the tube and train, just not as close to Buckingham Palace.
Wonderfully comfortable, elegant and relaxing setting, with charming and attentive staff. Recommended.
This is our 2nd Time at the Rubens and if you re looking for a soulless Hotel or staff that don t care or try to help you then please DON T go to the Rubens
But if you want a Hotel that s full of charm and staff that will go that extra mile then here s the hotel for you .
Check in was Fast and efficient, and the girls at reception helpful
The fantastic Room we had was a Royal Room well worth the little extra cost if you can afford it, made my wife feel like Royalty.
Our evening Meal in in the Old Master s and very good it was, again attentive waiters Daniel was so helpful , plenty of choice and being a buffet style you can have as much or little as you wanted I even saw one guest go up for more.
The Bar was a great place to unwind and if you re into it, there s a great long window to do people watching, again what can I say great helpful staff.
The hotel is close to Buckingham Palace in fact our room looked over the Royal Mews and about a 5 min walk from green park underground.
Would I go again ? I am booked to go back in February with 2 friends who wish to sample the fantastic hotel group we are always talking about
Brilliant hotel. Great staff
Excellent food. Could not have wished for better. Thanks to all concerned
Awesome amazing hotel, the staff was unbelievable. I would highly recommend.
A great place together with friends and enjoy a few cocktails prior to the theater
great staff I pick up here as a London Tour guide and London cabbie
Rooms a bit small, but very convenient for the location
Such a lovely hotel opposite Buckingham Palace. You're treated as a VIP here each visit
Top staff. Quality breakfast. Old but nice and functional room
On 23rd June walked in with my guest, as I saw a windows seat was empty, I asked, we have no booking, could we have window seat table, the waiter looked in the reservation book, then went to discuss with another, by than, i knew those More
A fantastic hotel, there is a massive living wall on the end of the building, it is undergoing replanting , cannot wait to see how fantastic this will look
Wonderful staff. The most comfortable beds. Food excellent
Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location for visiting tourists. Bathroom is the only issue where the flush on the toilet is quite tricky and the shower is open so water sprays all over when it is used.
Attentive staff and a nice breakfast. Decor a bit dated but all immaculate. Great location for the sights of London.
The staff were all so nice and accommodating. The breakfast was truly fit for a queen. The common areas are beautifully decorated and very classy. Roberto (bar tender at the New York bar in the hotel) was probably the most talented bartender I ve ever experienced. The Leapord Bar next door is great for a night cap and some live jazz, and the BBar next door had delicious food. I would come back here in a second. ONLY disclaimer: the bed mattress was very hard, so okay if you like that sort of thing.
Such a fantastic hotel in an unbeatable location (right down the street from Victoria Station). The service is impeccable and the rooms are beautiful and very well cleaned with some of the most comfortable pillows and linens. The rooms were also full of premium amenities. We stayed in February and were very lucky because we booked Hamilton tickets and it was only a five minute walk from the hotel! Craig at the door was fabulous too, really made us feel like The Rubens at the Palace was our home away from home. We will definitely spring to stay here again next time we are in London. Totally worth the price!
The service was first class. The staff was very attentive and made us feel special. The room was very nice and clean. Location was very good. Close to the Victoria train and tube stations. Highly recommend this hotel.
A little dated with decoration, it seems to be an odd mix of old with modern thrown in which doesn t really work. It took a very long time to get noticed by the staff. Of which there were several of them. Food and drinks were good and selection of cocktails were great. Good location.
Great service and beautiful setting near a popular area of London
Absolutely excellent. Stayed for one night and everything was perfect. All staff are so friendly and helpful and professional which made my stay very pleasant. Check in was very straight forward and efficient. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Better than staying in a big chain hotel, has a very grand and British feel so I think tourist would love it. Will definitely stay again. Very well located. 5 minute walk down the street to Victoria station.
Nice place to stop by in the restaurant for some coffee, attentive service and quiet so recommend if you need to meet someone. Good selection of wines, coffees etc, didn't eat there but looks quite expensive although it is an interesting building
Great venue on my walk back from central london to get a train at Victoria - good to stop and take breath and enjoy a relaxed drink
Great location, walking distance from Buckingham palace and Waterloo bridge as well as big Ben. Service is good and staff are helpful.
We were treated like royalty in this hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms were clean ands comfortable
The surroundings were magnificent and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. All In all, a brilliant experience. Thank you to all concerned for making our stay so special.
Room was a little small, but nice. Room had no AC running when we got in. Located extremely close to buckingham palace. Concierge was very good.
Great location. Some weird quirks with our room but staff quickly took care of everything.
I stayed at the Rubens Hotel for one night, where I enjoyed the best night of sleep in all the hotels (highly rated by long-term insomniacs)! Great location, comfortable room, great breakfast and extremely helpful and helpful staff. Highly recommended!
Had afternoon tea there. Beautiful place and delicious food
How absolutely splendid, wonderful breakfast with lavish decor
Good value quick lunch before a visit to the Palace
Lovely hotel, nice looking place in a good area. Staff were very helpful and the room was very comfortable, but we did have a Manuel moment when I asked the bar tender what rums he had and he said he was from Greece which made me chuckle.
Perfect London character hotel, right behind the palace!
Often imitated but never bettered, the Afternoon Tea is as British as a wet summer. We do it best and The Rubens does it better than most.
Relaxing in the Palace Lounge, overlooking the Royal Mews and watching the guardsmen and the horse drawn carriages coming and going, I was reminded of Samuel Johnson (1709 -1784) who said when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life . Positioned in the heart of London and the closest hotel to Buckingham Palace, The Rubens with its tradition and patronage, whisks you to a bygone age and, for a few hours, you too are treated like royalty.
We came for afternoon tea and did not want to leave. We enjoyed every second, including the short time we spent in the Cavalry Bar.
Dominic, South African born, looked after us and recommended the Rooibus (roy-boss) a black tea cultivated in the Western Cape Province; it was an excellent choice, very refreshing with a distinctive, slightly nutty taste. We were also encouraged to sample the Rubens Blend, a fusion of Indian and Chinese black teas unique to the hotel and just as delicious. A wonderful ambassador for the hotel, Dominic also spoke warmly about the 12 Apostles a sister hotel in Cape Town; which is now on my bucket list.
Had wonderful service from the moment we got to the front door. They were super helpful in explaining what services we had and what to do. The room was very nice and the food in the English Room was very good.
Service above all else, Major refurbishment throughout
Beautiful historic hotel; employees are very kind and friendly; the food ordered from room service is excellent!
Thank you for a lovely surprise birthday stay at 'The Rubens'. The staff were lovely and couldn't have been more attentive especially Melanie and Maisie. Melanie looked after us whist we had afternoon tea. She made us feel special and nothing was too much trouble. The birthday girl was well and truly spoilt with a complementary birthday cake and beautiful flowers. Tea was superb. Rooms were spotless as were the bathrooms. Comfy beds.Location great. Would definitely recommend this hotel . Thank you again for making the birthday so special.
We went for the marathon of the city and the quality of the service was extraordinary
We booked for the afternoon tea as this was a birthday celebration and we were looking forward to it immensley. However the finger sandwiches were dry around the edges & seemed to be not freshly made, the scones stuck to the palate & the pastries were nothing to write hom e about. VERY disappointing!!! On the plus side the staff were great. We have had afternoon tea in London a few times now & will very definately not be returning.
Doormen were great, my mum was staying for a couple of nights and I met her for breakfast and it was pretty good.
Rooms are small but well equipped. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Beautiful hotel with very helpful staff .. a five min walk to the palace .
