Great location right on time square, supermarket and Starbucks right next to the hotel and very nice and helpful staff. The room was pretty small and had minor door issues which is maintainable, but the high bed is extremely hard to handle in the middle of the night when trying to go to the bathroom from the window side. Other than that everything was great. Would definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel is in an absolutely exceptional location, on 45th at the corner with Time Square on one side and 2 steps from Rockefeller center on the other, I stayed on the 10th floor in a very nice king room, I was expecting a very small room, considering the standards of Newyork, instead I found a nice spacious room, very nice, with a modern and large bathroom but the thing that surprised me most was the bed, a king-size of a comfort never experienced in hundreds of hotels! Top cleaning both in the room and throughout the hotel, smiling, helpful and very kind staff, nice swimming pool with sauna to relax after long walks, also excellent breakfast that with only 15 dollars per person offers a huge choice for everyone, from sweet to savory! Choice of foods for celiacs and vegans too! In short, if I were to return to Newyork I would have no doubts! I would return right here! Absolutely recommended Thank you for the pleasant stay, thank you for the portable Wi-Fi service and thank you for the gift of Prosecco in the room with the letter of wishes for the honeymoon Top
Great hotel in a good location with its pros and cons. The hotel does not have a lounge where you can sit after a busy day and the hotel bar does not open until five. Rooms on the street side can be hindered by traffic, the air conditioning was noisy. But the hotel is in a great location a hundred yards from Times Square. Relatively small hotel, so staff (re) knows you quickly. Nicely decorated rooms with good beds and several pillows per person. Super large towels in good bathroom with rain shower.
You pay a lot for the location, it's 100 meters from Times Square. There is a small pool to relax after a day up and down the Big Apple. There is also a gym open 24/24 Room a bit small Friendly staff I would stay there again
1) The housekeeper left our room STANDING OPEN ALL DAY while we were out. The flip lock was holding the door open. 2) The housekeeper THREW AWAY our wine glasses that were sitting on the table, grouped with all of our other stuff. 3) We called the front desk about both of these problems. They did nothing to remedy it or even apologize. 4) The hot water ran out. 5) One of the two elevators was broken for most of 3 of the 4 days of our stay. 6) Neither the confirmation email nor the hotel's website shows a check in time. When we tried to call, it just rang busy... for an hour! We never got through. 8) When we couldn't reach the hotel by phone, we called the corporate number. My husband was hung up on twice, after being told that they DO NOT HAVE a CUSTOMER SERVICE department. 8) As we were dragging our luggage downstairs to leave, a staff person got off the elevator and said, "Hello." When he didn't hear me reply (which I had done), he aggressively repeated himself as if I were being rude to him. There are so many ways in which this behavior is absolutely unacceptable.
Two other things that were annoying but can't qualify for the Hate List are that the Lobby smells unpleasant and is humid (presumably because of the pool) and that the hallways on our floor were like a horror movie set--super dark with horribly flickering lights.
It's sad, because we really liked the room. But we certainly will never stay in a Room Mate hotel again.
The location is great, right beside Times Square. The staff was very helpful. They held our bags until check-in time and recommended nearby restaurants. The decore is much more interesting than regular hotels. The room is on the smaller side, but well arranged.
The concierge just hung up on me I asked for utensils maybe 45 mins ago I could have walked down and got them myself this teeny tiny hotel has a front desk attendant who was rude to me when I asked for his name he gave me a fake name I m sure something with an s - I m going to report it to management most likely to no avail - if he cared what management thought he would ve never spoke to me that way or hung up in my face - attached pix of my closet they call a room - don t stay here
Waiting 4 hours for them to clean and warm the tiny pool
And an hour for utensils before I decide to just walk to their trashy eatery and get it myself
I would give 0 stars for the way that guy handles this transaction I wish I payed 50.00 more and went to a real hotel this is a travesty
Had a great stay here at an excellent location, and they even offered to hold our bags after checkout so we could continue exploring NYC before catching a train
We found it excellent for the site it has fundamentally. In any case, when we arrived we checked that the hotel was very good. I would highlight the comfort of the bed, it rests beautifully thanks to the pillow top. The breakfast must also be mentioned, it was very varied. On the other hand, the indoor pool caught our attention, from time to time they have a party in it.
The location is very good. The staff friendly. The entire hotel is stylishly furnished.
View to the outside in room 1101 unfortunately disappointing.
What could be improved: - more vegan options for breakfast. Warm vegan dishes such as fried potatoes or vegan pancakes would also be great. Currently there is not even soy milk at the buffet, but only on request. Oat milk, almond milk, etc. would be great.
- The shower gels and shampoos are unfortunately (like so many things in the USA) in small plastic packaging. Refillable soap dispensers and soap made from fair trade, vegan and resource-friendly materials would be a big step in the right direction to preserve our planet
- There are signs in the bathroom saying that the towels will not be changed to save water if you do not throw them on the floor but hang them up. Ultimately, however, the towels that were hung up were also replaced.
- The sauna is ridiculous. Only 50 degrees Celsius warm (the heat regulator is broken) and there are no infusions.
- The pool is interesting but very small. Not suitable for swimming but only for relaxing. The opening times for the pool and sauna are terrible. They should be open when you need them. BEFORE and AFTER sightseeing or work (e.g. 6-10am and 5-12pm. Instead, 9 am-9pm, when hardly any guest spends time in the hotel. Midday between checkout and checkin would be the perfect time to close and clean them
I have stayed there and it was great. The Rooms are super clean and nice. The personal is very friendly and I was very happy with my pic. The Pool is nice but not realy for swimming - it's a party spot. Sauna and Gym are okay. The loacation is just perfect. I'll come back soon
The Location of the Hotel was perfect! Right in the middle of Times Square. Only complaint is the contruction outside the hotel in the mornings. The rooms are small but who goes to New York to stay in the room. Loved the pool and the sliding door that opens to the bar from the pool. Loida and Nichole were really sweet and greeted you with a smile each time. Loida provided my husband and I with valuable tips that helped us alot. She was was a true charm to the hotel!
Excellent hotel with good value for money. Far from the impersonal and huge Manhattan hotels, this is a small family hotel, and nothing noisy. Very nice treatment from all the staff, who speak Spanish. Formidable breakfast for 14 dollars, very cheap for the prices of that area. And very well located, 2 minutes from Time Square. In short, I will recommend it to all my friends, and more if they are Spanish
Excellent hotel value for money. In the heart of Manhattan, 1 minute from Times Squears. Very clean, super comfortable bed, room in general perfect. Your workers an exquisite kindness. They have made us feel at home. No doubt if we go back to New York we would come to this hotel. We're leaving very happy. Thank you.
This hotel was AMAZING! From the second we walked in the door being greeting by two very nice ladies, til we checked out. The beds are the most comfortable beds ever, the shower was awesome, but wish their was a door to close so we wasn't cold when we got out. The lights with the card was annoying, the pool was AWESOME! So beautiful and warm. Loved how close we was to the BTS STORE. That is the reason we came, momma did good. Lol,we will be back next year, oh thank you so much to the two evening ladies who stored my daughter's insulin in their fridge because ours in our room was not cold enough. See you soon.
Good location, friendly staff. Some people like large rooms but I find the queen to be very comfortable, the bed soft and the pillows were great. Slept well every night, stayed on 12th floor and it was quite.
A hotel very central and well located, the staff very nice and attentive in everything, the room for three a little fair but enough, summarizing everything well. recommendable
Basic room was small, even for NYC, but the bed was comfortable. However, there was no place to hang up a dress or suit. The hanging bar in the "closet" had a shelf underneath it so that the hanging space wasn't long enough even for a standard dress shirt. Stupid. At least they had an iron...
Hotel very well located 2 steps from times square good reception team smiling and pleasant a spacious and well equipped room with a large shower the little more of the hotel to relax a swimming pool, a sauna, a small gym and a bar Very good stay at this establishment
I would love to write a glowing review of this hotel as so many other users have done on Google, but alas I'm stuck in Australia with a Government imposed travel ban and am unable to leave the country. It's a pity - it was reviews from Google that helped me choose this hotel to begin with. In Aug, when it was clear we were going to have to cancel our trip, we asked the hotel for a cancellation. Hoping the hotel would, as a kind gesture to its patrons impacted by COVID at this time, offer a future credit for stay (or possibly a refund), I was heavily disappointed to discover that the hotel couldn't care less about my plight and would prefer to capitalise on my misfortune by offering me nothing. Even when they had months of notice on the cancellation of the room. Hope they were able to get a double fee for the room I would have stayed in because the bottom line for this mob is clearly the money.
Clean rooms, totally centrally located. One point deduction -> if there is a real fire here, it becomes extremely dangerous (we had a fire alarm at night, the alarm bell was much too quiet, the emergency announcement was very quick and incomprehensible, in an emergency, many guests would not have come out of the house) .
It was a very nice hotel. Rooms were kinda small but extremely nice. The walls give a spinning effect and it's amazing location. Right next to time square
Great place to spend the night in the city very clean nice decor totally love it, and the service by the bar was incredible by a latin lady but in general the staff is very good
Nice hotel. Very close to all attractions and subway. Staff very friendly and helpful. Gave 4 stars instead of 5 due to boring bar. Would have given 4 1/2 stars if could.
My family and I have stayed at roommate Grace 3 times and we have loved it! The rooms are so New York City themed decor, they are clean, like a good deep clean went through every time we stayed. The staff is beyond awesome! They always went above and beyond for my family each visit. This is the ONLY hotel we will stay in, we are actually coming for a 4th visit next month. Can't wait! A HUGE thank you to the staff, your hard work doesn't go unnoticed.
The experience was wonderful. I enjoyed the pool a nd the pool in bar . The interior was different. Although they need to fix the lobby area as it is too small but besides that my experience was great with them. Marcell was a great help . Also the bartender was great .
We stayed at this hotel back in March 2020 and unfortunately we had a couple of clothes stolen from our bedroom. They were brand new winter gears that we had to purchase for this holiday since we were coming from hot weather in Australia. We think the cleaners mistakenly took them for rubbish or laundry. When we raised the issue with reception/ manager they kept telling us they will look into it. We kept going back to reception to enquire and they kept saying oh tomorrow we should have an answer blablabla...They waited until our last day when we were checking out to inform us that they reviewed the video footage and cannot quite tell if the bag taken out by the cleaners was ours or not. We knew they were lying as they offered to reimburse us the amount for the missing clothing and would ve allow us to view the footage. Of course nothing was given to us on the day of checking out but promised to bank transfer the amount in a couple of days. Now Dec 2020,after multiple emails which they never replied to, we still haven t received any compensation. We would have loved to go back for another stay as we did enjoy our time there even though we had this unfortunate incident but the dealings with the management left a sour taste in our mouth.
Great hote close to times square. Lights are a little psycodelic, but the room is really modern and the best is the bathroom. I would just put a lever on the beds to avoid falling if you move a lot during the night
First I would like thew staff more making our stay most memorable. The hotel is close to Times Square. The room was quiet, clean and appropriate for our needs. We will be back!
Unforgettable. The reception staff was incredibly friendly and helped us immensely with everything. The room was beautiful and very cozy, it did not lack anything. The indoor pool is a gem, not to mention its breakfast buffet, the most complete I have seen. In general it is a 10 hotel and we will repeat without a doubt, thanks to the entire Room Mate Grace team for making our stay unbeatable.
Checked in for Comic Con. Great service and right near all the action. The rooms are a bit smaller than anticipated, but it's NYC. Beds are comfy and warm with in room thermostat. No tub, but rocking shower. The pool/spa area was pretty nice too.
The place is good, staff very helpful but be careful with the room layout . Some of them have a bed with a closed platform that makes imposible for the person against the wall to go to the bathroom without moving the other person.
Excellent find!! The staff was very polite & helpful. We arrived a bit early & they let us check in.. Even upgraded our room to a deluxe room with a balcony! The room was not your typical tiny shoebox of a room -- there was space to move around & it was very functional. We loved the platform around the bed that also served as a luggage rack, couch & nightstand. There was a small fridge for our beverages & leftovers, which we loved! The bathroom was very modern with 2 side by side rain shower heads & a 3rd shower head with a hose & multiple settings, the shower had no doors or ledge do pretty much the entire bathroom served as a giant awesome shower. Even better -- the hotel has an awesome pool & lounge area with a swim up bar window , sauna & steam room. The downside was that the pool was scheduled to be closed due to "emergency repairs" on our 2nd day there so we ended up rescheduling our dinner to the 2nd night in order to get in some decent pool & sauna time, disappointing but we were notified at check in so it wasn't a huge deal. The location was perfect - right around the corner from Times Square & just down the street from Penn Station, The Rock & Bryant Park! We will definitely be back anytime we are staying in the city!! Great hotel!!!
Well located, have a pool and sauna is a plus and feel very good after being walking all day. The breakfast is quite good, the only one but there is part of the staff for which you are a paperwork.
Perfect rooms, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is 10 and the staff is very friendly and attentive, especially Juliana and Frankie. The location is excellent. 100% recommendable. I will repeat for sure.
Clean, reasonably priced, centrally located hotel in NYC. Rooms are small, but that is standard for boutique hotels in Manhattan. Nice chic bar. Indoor pool and sauna, too. Check in was smooth and efficient. Happy to find my room ready on arrival at noon. I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel very good located that allows you to discover many areas of New York walking. The rooms are small but clean and modern. The breakfast is very good. Maybe too high price, but I understand that you pay for the location .. Very friendly and attentive staff. For the price I put 3 stars
Nice and clean. If you like to stay in the middle Manhattan this hotel is a good choice. It's located close to the metro. The service is great and the place is clean and nice.
This was my third stay at this hotel which has become my destination of choice for places to stay in NYC. It is clean and safe; the staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful. The bedding is comfortable, I love the pool and sauna, and the breakfast offers a wide array of good choices.
Great location, good staff, but small standard rooms, not perfectly cleaned and with great need to be renovated. Comfortable beds, safe, minibar and complimentary toiletries. There is some noise coming from the air conditioning systems.
Comfortable rooms, amazing amenities and locates right off time square. Perfect location right in all the action but laid back enough for rest and relaxation. Highly recommended.
Super small rooms and trippy hallways woth pin stripes and lights that strobed slightly. But it has a nice bar area and pool, and plenty food options nearby, not to mention time Square. The room was sufficient and clean despite the size. I would recommend this hotel
Great hotel we just finished our family holiday. Impeccable family room for 4. Location only 50 meters from timesquare. The more the pool to relax after the big steps. Staff listening. I strongly advise!
We just arrived from NY my daughter and I ... we are happy, better placed the hotel can not be, the attention from all the excellent staff !! The rooms very clean !!! I recommend it 100%, we will go back to the city and of course to the same hotel.
We had a free weekend, they had a great room. The staff were super. We had the breakfast in the am, it was fresh and tasty. The room was small, however very clean. And we had a blast. We will for sure be back
