Average hotel in a prime location. Worth it if you can book it with a discount on Hotel Tonight but don't pay full price. Rooms were small and dirty and walls made you dizzy. Pool was cramped and had lots of debris. Thankfully we didn't plan to spend a lot of time in the hotel.

Not sure why this place is still in business. I keep seeing poor reviews of poor customer service which I myself had issues with. If management had been engaged maybe I wouldn t have such issues but basically non existent. Please don t waste your money stay somewhere else where you ll actually be respected for paying a small fortune. Security is a joke they stop you from using the services you paid for. Please fix otherwise you ll never have my money again, which honestly should be refunded but I m only greeted with other restraints to do so. Please read because you ll be in my position if you deal/see security at all.

The room was exquisite and everything was luxurious including the large walk-in shower. The one major issue was how strict their 12pm checkout was. They were on the boundaries of harassing us, and it made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Despite all the comforts of the room and amenities it afforded, how we were treated left a sour taste. I certainly will not return to that hotel. Besides, that pool inside, which is its unique feature, is empty most of the time and makes me the hotel lobby unnecessarily humid.

FABULOUS location one block from Times Square, right next to restaurants and across from Starbucks. I was welcomed and taken care of at this boutique hotel like I was their only guest. The staff was so friendly, graciously stowed my bag and always waved when I walked in. They offered directions, gave advice on shows and car service, etc etc etc. The room was great, CLEAN and bed super comfortable (I was worried about the platform but I didn't notice the difference. Mattress, pillows and sheets were top notch.) Other reviews mentioned they could hear street noise but I couldn't hear a thing which was shocking due to the fact that it's in the center of Manhattan. Great pool and spa. This was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in ANY city but for a rate I'd expect in a small town. THANK YOU for keeping costs low.

The Grace hotel is a quirky hotel next to Times Sq...

The Grace hotel is a quirky hotel next to Times Square. It's known for its frequent pool parties, which this review is about. The entire hotel is cozy, which extends to the compact pool area. It boasts a good sized sauna and a "swim up bar." How does a place this small have a swim up bar? The pool is located against a wall and there is a regular (small) bar on the other side of the wall, with glass windows that open, so you could order drinks from the pool. This place would be amazing for a small party - few hotels in NYC have pools. But for a larger crowd - and the grace pool parties seem to attract a crowd - the place is a bit lacking. There are no changing rooms or lockers, so wear your swimsuit under your evening wear, unless you want to line up and change in one of the three single person bathrooms. There is a coat/bag check for a fee and towels were $5. There is otherwise limited standing area and the pool was standing room only when I attended - think a subway car during rush hour that's half filled with water. So, check in advance how many people are expected.

We were on our honeymoon and everything was great. It is a few steps from Times Square, the rooms are perfect for what we were looking for, that is, comfortable to arrive after a day of sightseeing and with a good bathroom. It has an indoor pool with a bar in the psycho, in addition to sauna and steam bath. Be careful when they mount the gay parties that they ride and do not know it. How it happened to me. It was fun to be in the sauna and to enter man, to start chatting and when I realized they were throwing me the mess. I politely declined the offer and when I left I saw the balloons with the silkscreen gay party. It was great. The staff attentive to your comfort and speak several languages. In short, everything is perfect!

Stayed here Jan. 7, 17 This hotel was very nice and so close to time square. Pool was a bit cold for me but the bartender Odoile ( I don't know how to spell her name) was so nice and a great bartender. I would definitely stay here again.

First and foremost the room is very basic and not meant for someone with a lot of luggage or likes to stay in their room a lot. It covers the basic necessities you need: bed, bathroom and desk. The shower is amazing and the bed is super comfy compared to most establishments. I haven't had breakfast here but did go to a very nice diner called red flame that is decently proceed with quick service, depending on when you go. This hotel is centrally located to many of the destination spots and public transportation. I highly suggest getting a metro card for unlimited rides, cheaper than the tour buses. The room has a safe and minibar but there's a deli down the street to get snacks without the ridiculous prices. There is a small pool but I didn't use that either. Also bring ear plugs or have a white noise app it can get noisy at night.

Lovely hotel. The room is a little small but apparently it's standards in New York. A really good location on 45th Street between 6th and 7th avenues right on Times Square. A courteous reception, great service. They arranged a festive room on the 16th floor with champagne for our celebration. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is stunning. The heated pool and sauna are wonderful for the cold days in New York. The only drawback were that there were 2 elevators to 17 floors and we had to wait sometimes for a long time to get off.

This was the best hotel I've ever been to! The staff was awesome, the breakfast was great and the location is just astonishing! We could walk to Time Square in about 2 minutes and we still had a comfy room for half the price of the others around. When I go back to New-York, I go back there for sure. No second thoughts.

Staying just a few steps from the horribly crowded...

Staying just a few steps from the horribly crowded Times Square ceases to be annoying when you realize how near to everything you are and how silent your hotel room (11th floor) manages to be.

Add to that the sheer pleasure of entering the steam room or bathing in the swimming pool after a long walking day and you'll most certainly describe your Room Mate experience as definitely satisfactory, despite a not-above-average breakfast, a not totally warm welcome, and a few little missing touches that the hotel would deserve.

Adding a little more care and anticipation of the guests' needs would make Room Mate Grate really belong to the higher level of quality the structure deserves (and the rates would lead you to expect).
But again, location and spa services quite frankly make up for that.

Tucked away in a nice spot close to Times Square. If you blink you'll miss it, but once inside, you're met with a chic design, great service, a cool pool with a bar and a short stroll to all the action of New York city.

I tend to avoid off-brand hotels but, on my last trip to NYC, prices were so outrageous that I had no other option. This hotel was a great choice.

The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good for the price (an extra $15 per day). The location is extremely convenient to midtown destinations. The clientele are mostly European tourists - I think this hotel is actually a known European brand - and won't disturb you. Will probably stay there again, whether traveling for business or on vacation.

Charged my credit card an extra $300, without notifying me when I checked in. I visited NY with plans to explore Times Square and could not do anything because my $300 that I had was used as a security deposit at this hotel. Very INCONSIDERABLE, NON-INFORMATIVE.

The hotel is correct, clean and with everything you need. We were given a portable wifi as a courtesy for our stay which was very useful to us. Upon arrival we were greeted by a receptionist who was the height of sweetness and friendliness. So much so, that we trusted him when he sold us the "Contrasts of New York" tour for $ 70 per person for the three of us. He asked us for a down payment of $ 90 and told us to pay the rest when we got on the tour bus. And then, since I had already seen that excursion on the internet, I consulted it to remember the route. My surprise was that on the internet, the same excursion, with the same company was worth 27 euros cheaper. The next day I went down to politely ask for my money back and he didn't even look me in the face to say good morning. He returned my money in a bad way in the presence of the hotel manager, who was at the reception. If he charged me 27 euros more per person than the service is really worth, I wonder where the extra 81 dollars I was paying would go, an amount very close to the down payment that he had to return.
I hope that a hotel reception will guide me and help me find my best option when I am staying there. It seems wrong to me that they tried to charge me all that extra money and very unprofessional that this person did not even look us in the face and treat us rudely.
Too bad it could have been a good stay.

This is the only hotel I ever stay at when coming to the city. It is very clean, and the staff here is so wonderful and accommodating. I do not recommend paying extra for breakfast because nyc has some amazing quick bites to eat so no need to have basic breakfast eats. The atmosphere is very artsy and fun. I highly recommend this boutique hotel to anyone looking into the area!

We had no complaints about our stay at Room Mate Grace hotel. Location was close to time square, we were able to walk almost everywhere except places outside of Manhattan (even in the freezing cold on Valentine s Day weekend - coldest day of the entire season). The hotel employees were professional, helpful and very welcoming especially the housekeepers on the 9th floor where we stayed. The hotel itself was very beautiful from the lobby, the mini lounge, pool area all the way down to the interior designs. Rooms were CLEAN and spacious enough for two people. We loved it and felt very comfortable. We usually get nervous about hotel bedding but they were fresh smelling and we slept pretty well. We both would honestly recommend anybody to stay there.

PS: We had a rental and Room Mate Grace validated our parking ticket from their contracted lot around the block. I think it was called Meyers Parking Lot. Saved us a chunk of cash since we kept it parked the entire weekend.

Thank you Room Mate Grace for the exceptional service! We will be back!

Great Location! - Quaint little hotel only 1/2 block off of Times Square! Reasonably priced, friendly staff. The rooms are small and funky, but perfect for our mother/daughter weekend. Several restaurants and deli's next door and across the street. We would stay there again, close to everything, but away from the craziness of Times Square.

The hotel has an excellent location, as well as the cleanliness of the rooms and the treatment of the staff. I blame the rooms for their small size and I expect all New York hotels the same thing, so the hotel will be excellent for you if you do not care about the smallness of the rooms.

Very nice service and nice rooms. The only personal complaint is that the hotel is pretty dark. Even with all the lights turned on it has an overall dark, feel. So some people like that as it can be romantic, and others I would guess feel that makes it less homey. I would definitely stay there again, the location was perfect!

The BEST location for midtown. Very large and clean rooms (we upgraded to kingsize)! Staff is friendly and adequate. We didn't use the pool and/or bar but it looked nice and clean. We'd defenitly come back here again!! The Cranberry Deli is right next to the hotel, we used it for (late) breakfast or snacks!

Well I dont know where to start to be honest this ...

Well I dont know where to start to be honest this is by far the worst hotel i have ever experienced in my whole entire life. The hotel is not updated at all they crazy wallpapers everywhere the room is ice cold even when the heater is on, the bathroom floor is like walking into a freezer literally had to put a towel on the floor so I could bare being there the room stinks no night tables at all. They have a pool cool that's what a thought but guess what COLD AGAIN what else is cold in this hotel ? I tell you what the customer service no personality and rude on our checkout day which why the way was the worst part of all, the guy ask us if we had breakfast the previous morning and I said yes he immediately say well it will be 30 DOLLARS we explained that the girl from two night before told us it was COMPLIMENTARY OF THE HOTEL which obviously means is FREE !!!! he was so rude he said it was not in the system so he cant honored it so I just paid the worst hospital tasting breakfast and on top of everything 10 mins passed waiting and he has the audacity to say WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE ???? HELLO WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU !!! never ever stay in This hotel believe me they are so many other good quality, customer oriented a lot better than this is not worth my money or your money.

Hotel with a perfect location, although if you are looking for a hotel to rest during the night after being all day walking, it is not the place.
The exhaust fan made a very annoying noise, we complained but they wanted to give us a room on a higher floor in which two minutes ago people complained about the noise .... we decided to stay where we were. The last day, as a nuisance, they gave us a free breakfast, which also does not compensate, for the lack of rest during the night. If I return to New York I would not return to this hotel.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. The pictures are extremely deceiving, because they make the rooms look bigger than they really are. The rooms are tiny and smell like they haven t been opened in a long time, very moldy. The hallways and the whole hotel smells like mold actually , it s amazing how different the air is as soon as you step outside. The breakfast bar is very poor as well. Also, the elevator gets stuck every once in a while in the past 3 days we ve been here.

The experience in this hotel this Easter has been ...

The experience in this hotel this Easter has been very good, due to its size (small compared to the big chains), it is a hotel that is friendly, without frills but with everything necessary, cleanliness, location, breakfast included and very decent , a good coffee in the morning is important. You are at home because it is full of Spaniards. It is 40m from Times Square, very close to the shops and the subway, red and yellow lines, although the orange is also a shot, so, moving around the city and back to the hotel has been child's play. You also have the Tkts box office of the shows as well as the starting points of the Big Bus. The staff is attentive, and in our case, congratulations to Fatima for your attention. Without a doubt, it is a very good option to stay in Manhattan. As for connections, the wifi has worked perfectly at all times. Recommendable.

Hotel very well located 2 steps from time square and metro station. Home of the most pleasant il informs you and helps you to answer all your requests and questions. Also for us the French SERG night watchman at the top he always welcomes you with a smile and speaks French very well breakfast but no more .. something to start this day. The nice pool to relax after the long days of walking. However privatized pool 3 days out of 6 in full week shameful !!! For exteriors and more !!! We chose this hotel for this little extra and pay to enjoy! I find it a shame to warn us once on the spot! The exclusive room very well. There is nothing missing and this one is done every day. Well overall.

We were satisfied with staying here. It is a boutique hotel and each floor is decorated and configured differently. We were pleased with the first room we were allocated, but found we had been assigned to a room already occupied. The front desk quickly allocated another room for us which was much smaller. We did not plan to spend time in our room other than sleeping so it did not bother us. Unfortunately this room had air conditioning issues so we were moved again back the first room as it was vacant. To compensate we were offered complimentary breakfast which was excellent. We were very happy with the friendly service and mishaps occur so we took it with good humour.
The shower is amazing. It was our favourite feature of the whole room, and the clever quirkly toiletries made fun gifts for friends.
The location of the hotel is excellent and close to many sights. We felt very safe and comfortable upon arriving and would not hestitate to stay again.

The hotel describes itself as 'funky', and the decor (particularly in the bar) won't disappoint on this front. It's not the most luxurious, by any means, but the room was comfortable. The little pool and sauna are a welcome sight at the end of a day's stomp around the city!
Staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is perfectly situated to explore the highlights of NYC.
