Visited Roly's again recently and once again had to post how good it was. The staff are lovely and the food is just wonderful. The vegetables are always so fresh and the desserts are to die for. The chocolate plate for any chocolate lovers is a must. Really a must if you are in Dublin.

Food was pretty good, went a couple of times last time in Dublin. A bit chaotic and noisy with a lively atmosphere. The stand out was an excellent Irish breakfast. I'd recommend this as a good place to fuel-up for a day of touring!

This is one of my favourite restaurants. I love the atmosphere here. The service and staff are amazing and food is always delicious. It is so well presented. It is perfect for group gatherings or a romantic setting.

Rolys hasn't changed much over the years. Good menu selection and very acceptable food. Table attention smart. Noise level high during a full and busy Sunday lunch. Ventilation (A/C) requires monitoring/attention - the room temperature varied from oppressively warm (jumper off) to cool with a draughty feeling (jumper back on). Price fine and altogether 4 but not 4.5.

Brought my daughter here to her favourite restaurant for her 16th birthday. It was a wonderful experience, they made such a fuss of her, the manager went above and beyond to give her a really great day. The food was great and the staff were exceptional.

We must have had bad luck because most of these reviews describe a different restaurant from what we experienced. Table was dirty, food was not cooked, service was poor. Disappointment of 2019 so far.

Had good memories of this place so dropped in yesterday for some food and got a takeaway sandwich. Asked could my sandwich be split into 2 smaller boxes and they agreed it could but waiter was gone a suspiciously long time. When he came back it was all in one box but looked like something my dad would throw together in a rush and to be frank, looked just as appetising. There were some crisps in another box which I presume were an attempt to take the bad look off it. They charged me for a club sandwich but it could have been up under the Trades Description Act. I didn't know what to say so ended up just paying and leaving but am left with the awful idea that the only reason it happened was I am clearly not well. The sandwich was awful and I ended up throwing it in the bin. So much for one of Dublin s gastronomic hotspots

Popped in on a Saturday evening. Just the most disinterested staff. The girl serving at the til, who was so unhappy to be there, made it a pretty unenjoyable experience. I was in for 3 minutes and left in a bad mood.
It s a pity as the produce is very good. There s so many great places around with positive, eager staff - if I were management I d be looking at this as an area to work on.

Update: the food was excellent which we enjoyed when we got home. Super value too.
Thanks Paul for the professional reply, I've updated the rating.

Really enjoyed our meal... service was efficient and timely and no pressures re time. All our courses were excellent.... and the Lemon and Raspberry tasting plate was one of the very best desserts anywhere...and 100% to the team for serving the dessert and coffee at the same time as requested. We will be back

The food was fine, but the staff seemed lost at sea. While it was a busy Saturday lunchtime there still seemed to be plenty of staff on. At one point I counted 6 different staff members clustered around the till, arguing about something or other. The service staff kept missing the simple things - no teaspoons given with coffee, no butter given with toast, and we had to chase them 4 times for water. Whatever internal conflict or issues were going on with the team, they unfortunately allowed it to show externally, and degrade the quality of their service.

I was looking forward to Roly's, as I'd read some great reviews, but I sadly won't be back.

Excessive service charge left us with a very bad taste in our mouth. We just had starters and main course which worked out at 54.50 each . The starters were soup and duck wan ton main course were prawns an salmon . We got three small dishes of veg between 4. We asked for more veg and had to ask for them a second time before we got them. Our plates were empty before we eventually got them. Won't be rushing back

I just love Roly's they do great food to take away or to sit-down.

Great selection of food all so fresh. Desserts to die for. I adore their cooked chicken it's something I look forward to eating weekly.

Slow and inattentive service. All 3 tables in our row had to ask to order and remind the staff to bring bread/ water. With such innovative food available in the area, rolys' offering is just average.

Exceptional service, food, wine and atmosphere. White linen & candlesticks created a feeling of dining with my favorite companion enjoying the finer joys of life making memories in the 22nd country we've had the privilege experiencing together! Mahalo for a lovely welcome and meal. The lemon tart was devine!! Priced diners chose a main and either appetizer or dessert, you shouldn't pass up the pear salad! Took some bread home from the bakery which was superbly fresh and ample good seed topping! Yum!

Went there for my birthday. Very disapointing meal. The bread was rock hard, my steak was very over cooked (We waited 40 minutes for the steak) asked for med / well. Two of my party had the chicken & liked it however were really disappointed with the veg & side orders. The service was exceptionally slow & after asking for the bill 4 times it eventually came out 40 minutes as it seemed as they only had one credit card machine for the whole resturant!

Good food, outstanding service, but it draws a particularly ostentatious crowd. It feels like the kind of place where you might get taken by a wealthy relative who wants to show off, but it's a wasted effort. An uncomfortably polite place.

Very poor service - seated in the corner and 20 minutes before ordering (only after searching for wait staff - and this was with very few others in the restaurant). Wrong bill also given at the end of the night. Food - standard. Won't be returning.
(Also unimpressed with the mandatory service charge when the service is bad)

One tiny potato each is simply mean.

One tiny potato each is simply mean.
With two main dishes, no excuse for it. Over priced for what one gets, set menu at 34euro plus 10%?
Nice general ambience but above let's it down.
