Edmonton's best bike shop by a long shot. With a killer selection of top shelf products, experienced and knowledgeable sales staff, and an ace team of Edmonton's best bike mechanics. Love the Revolution team and everything they have done for the Edmonton cycling community over their almost 3 decades in business :)

Revolution cycle offers great customer service from knowledgeable staff that are clearly passionate about bicycles. From the sales/customer service reps to the service/maintenance technicians, you will always be greeted kindly and offered informative assistance. My experience with Revolution Cycle every time I've entered the store has been positive, great bike shop!
Bought two new bikes on Monday march 27 . Jesse in sales was great and patient seemed very knowlagable. So far bikes have performed well and we are happy with the purchase. Also this shop has had the best selection and the most attentive staff as I have went to at least 5 other shops.
I have purchased 2 bikes here along with other items and every trip to the store is a great experience. Yes, the staff can be busy and occupied at times, but what do you expect it's a retail store. I have never had anyone give me attitude. I find that everyone working is always willing to answer questions and help out to the best of their abilities. Great store!!
I recently purchased a Thule T2 bike rack here. Phenomenal service and Jesse was great helping me assemble and install the rack on my truck. I'll be back to this shop for sure.
Great Shop. Lots of quality bikes to choose from. Sales staff are very knowledgeable. We went in to "just take a look" and purchased two bikes from Kurt who was very helpful. Kurt was happy to allow us to try/ride all the different types so we could pick the best fit. We will recommend Revolution Cycle to everyone we know.
Very knowledgeable staff, excellent selection of bikes and accessories. Service department is very good - recently made a small mistake and they went over and above to fix it. Have bought 4 bikes here over the years and had all of our service done there... Satisfied loyal customer.
Owner seems to be incredibly rude about small issues. Horrible customer service. Leaving notes on patrons of other businesses cars who aren t parked in the marked areas despite the lot being covered in snow. If this is how an owner deals with small inconveniences in his day then I wouldn t shop here. Also his response to many bad reviews is very telling.
Reviews that are negative are repeatedly deflected as the reviewer being the problem. One example is the parking space issue. The owner clearly stated that the patron doesn t own the parking space, but believes he is in the right to act as if he owns it. He deals with misaligned cars by passively aggressively parking too close and leaving notes on the car. Newsflash, you do not own the spot either.
In addition, there are many reviews of broken items from this location, as well as poorly handled customer complaints. Seems like this owner has nothing better to do but harass patrons in the parking lot and respond to negative reviews.
I would like to thank Robert Cowman for the excellent service that he has provided me. He is very knowledgeable and has a great personality without be very pushy. Even though I had a change of heart in terms of purchasing the bike I would highly recommend anyone that is looking for a bike to see him. If anyone is unsure of their own riding style or have simple questions in terms of what bike they need Robert is the guy! He's very patient and accommodating and he explains all the technical details of the bike. Robert please keep up the great work and Revolution please give this man a raise!
Great response to my email question regarding warranty on my rear wheel. I also appreciate their response to Covid-19, I have gone in to the store a couple of times and the lines have gone pretty quickly and the service in the store great. The new tires recommended for my road bike have been awesome!
My review is accurate. Strongly worded because the experience was bizarre and frustrating.
- Revolution owner claims Western is booking four weeks out. Western took a minute to look over the bike and hear me out when I walked in with this question. No one told me to wait a week or gave me excuses as to why they couldn't see if they could troubleshoot it.
- Revolution owner's service department is so busy. Maybe hire more people if business is so good? Or lose the front desk service department admin guy and hire another tech?
- Revolution thinks it's Apple with it's special tools. If your sales guy would have shared that info before I gave you non-refundable money, I probably wouldn't have bought your merch. But I LOVE how you tell me about this special tool when I tell you I'm going elsewhere to fix it.
- If the over priced bike you sold me is suspiciously not working like it should within the week or so following the purchase (ie. the chain skips for no reason), instead of accusing me of improperly storing it or trying to push the blame on me, how about you just take a look and see what you can do about getting me back on the trails? Something about the bike you sold me was garbage, and when you start making me wait any time to fix a problem that isn't reasonable for a new bike, then maybe you should own up to seeing what's up. Not this dissapointing, bureaucratic-like response.
The responses in service in your store vs. Western's is like night and day. @ Revolution, if you want to buy something, someone's more than happy to help. Once they have your money, their sales process is carefully crafted to make you spend more than you should or need to.
Again - $20 charge at Western vs. $40 at Revolution for the specific job. This in combination with my experience gives you the insight as to how this place works.
*** Below is the original post ***
Bottom line: Go to Western Cycle because Revolution is set up to extract as much money from you as possible. First they upsell you for the bike and then lie about what they really promised when you come back to maintain it. Or just flat out continue to extract more money from you because your situation is always a surprise to them.
For example, Revolution upsold me from an $850 bike to a $1200 one so that all my intermediate mtn biking needs are met. Take it out, told I have some warranty for one year and a free tune up after 20 hrs of riding.
Two weeks later I come in and they are already slithering out of promises I thought warranty would cover:
- my derailer became misaligned with all my 20ish hours of biking. can they take a minute to just adjust it? Nope. That's a future $40 appointment;
- the above appointment has to be different from the tune up appointment and in no way can a small adjustment to a derailleur be done because Revolution is all about the scam
Cherry on top of this relationship with this organization is summed up by the representative: I can't get my derailleur adjusted anywhere else because there's a special tool that only Revolution has access to. Thanks for the lie. My friend did the same thing for a beer. Don't have a friend that fixes bikes? try Western Cycle - I called them up, explained what the problem was and the bike I have, and found out they would charge $20 for the same service for the same bike. I even went into the store to show the guy what I needed just to make sure there's no misunderstandings as to was needed to be done, and - yup - $20.
Can't wait to tell everyone I run into about the great products and services Revolution's competitors have.
I could not find a stem to heighten my handlebars from any other Cycling shop in Edmonton until I found Revolution Cycle. They had them in stock and the salesman-Dan-was amazing and showed me how to put the stem on my bike and told me to come back if I have any issues doing the install myself. Well-I did have a slight hiccup installing the stem and when I took my bike to Revolution Cycle and talked to Dan again-he fixed my issue without any charge. His customer service was so excellent-I will make Revolution Cycle my number 1 bike shop:)
This isn't a fancy chiropractic facility with flashy advertising. It's a simple house, yes house in dead center St. Albert. The family run business run by Dr.Dan and his associates are the best in the greater Edmonton area. Impeccable practices along with professional courtesy and the highest regard for your health. I can and I won't recommend any where else to have your chiropractic and massage needs fulfilled. Simply put a great job.
Excellent staff who are always friendly and helpful. Many times I have had them go above and beyond what is expected from any bicycle store. Always look forward to visiting. Thanks!
Just had to send a huge thank you to these guy s. I have been dealing with them for well over ten year s. Have never had anything but great service. Staff are all very friendly. Be it part s or service. Or that shinny new bike you been eyeing up. They will get you riding. Thank s so much to these guy s. I always look forward to a trip to the bike shop!!
After dropping several thousand dollars on a new bike this spring I was told I'd get 20% off parts and accesories. I wanted to pick up a new helmet today, also not a cheap purchace, figured the 20% was worth the drive accross the city. After finally finding someone to help me with sizing and picking out a helmet I was disappointed to find out that the 20% is only valid on the day of purchace. So i guess an avid bike rider spending 4k on a bike inspires no loyalty from them. That's unfortunate for them i guess as i also needed new shoes, shorts, jerseys, tools, tires, the list goes on. Don't give them your money, get some small shop to order the bike you want. You'll pay the same price but they'll appreciate it more. Service is great and I've never had a personal experience with it but have heard from a few friends now that their service department does sub par work.
So...I am in from out of town and looking to snag some fatbike boots. They didn't have my size so they called around to another LBS for me and confirmed that they had my size in stock, in order to get me set up before leaving town for the day. Can't beat that customer service!
I'm in Winnipeg but this is my go to store. Anytime I'm in town I will always make time to go there and get all my needs. Recently bought another bike online from here. I had a couple of minor issues, but they took care of it right away to my satisfaction. Great customer service from Ben. Highly recommended for everything!
Really good customer service, some of the best prices (especially on sale items like bikes). I knocked off a star because the mechanic over-tightened the bike pedals on my new bike (I had to get a longer wrench to get enough torque). That caused a ton a frustration for such a simple mistake.
This was the first time I entered this store even though I've driven by it so many times. I was greeted at the door and asked if I was looking for something specific. I personally like this approach as it shows they are interested in my business and I don't need to waste time getting to my objective. Of course, if I just wanted to browse, I have that option available. I was literally shocked by the size of the place and so many bikes and related accessories. I was introduced to Ken, who provided excellent service, took me downstairs to see what indoor smart cycle equipment they had (I don't want to spend $2800 on a Peloton when there other options for half the price and I get to ride my actual bike), unfortunately, new product will be available in a few weeks (hopefully it won't snow before they arrive but it is Edmonton). I will keep an eye on their website. Parking is available at the rear off the building.
Very knowledgeable and prompt with my Chariot tire repair. They recommended a product and explained why I should get it, but never pressured me to buy.
I have a long winded story on why I won't ever go back but all I'm going to say is don't give these clowns you're money. Susposed to be professionals?..I cant see it.
Was forced to wear as mask despite advising staff I cannot wear a mask and have a medical exemption. Was told exemptions in Edmonton have been removed. After educating staff exemptions are indeed in place and showed them on Alberta website was still demanded to wear a mask. I haven't had issues anywhere else in Edmonton. Won't be supporting this business.
People who work here are not mechanically inclined. They sprayed brake grease on our pads not on the backs then would not own up to nit knowing how it was supposed to be used. They charged us for pads that had not been contaminated. On top of this we had to bring the bike back for a recall on the hub. It took them months to get the part In and ended up bringing in the wrong part. Amazing to deal with when your buying but they are two faced when it comes to warranty. Sad because I chatted with the owner before we bought the bike and he seemed like a good guy then was lieing to my little brothers face about these things because he was a kid and he was not going to talk back. Great selection of bikes just take them somewhere else if you need work done and just return the bike if you have problems right away it is not worth dealing with them.
A very pleasant service provided in a nicely run operation. Revolution cycle is a gargantuan of cycle shop. The store is large, clean and well-organized. You cannot help but be impressed by the massive organization that goes on everyday in the store to stock up and display their bicycle inventory, which is ubiquitous. If you are thinking of bicycles, or bicycle service, then Revolution Cycle has it all. I just bought a lovely Aspect 960, at a handsome discount. I am sure I will enjoy my summer ride. I am certain I will go back there to source bicycles for my children, when they are old enough to ride. Thank you Revolution Cycle.
Excellent service when i bought my new Scott a couple months back. Love the bike and has run great on every ride i've had it on. Recently it needed a minor derailleur adjustment, so i brought it in on this past Tuesday at about noon and even with how crazy busy they were, they still manged to squeeze mine in and have it fixed and ready to go in the same day! Was very impressed with how they take care of there clients. I recommended my Dad and two other friends here to Revolution Cycle after buying mine and each of them bought bikes within the last month. Much deserved business and i will continue to send it there way..if they have any bikes left to sell that is haha
Been coming to revolution cycle since 2012 and I've always been very pleased with the level of customer service and blown away by the amount of bikes in stock. 10/10 would recommend
Always great sales and service staff. More importantly, Revolution's social distancing measures that are in place are proper. Minimal chance of bumping shoulders with strangers, even though their store is large, there's not many people allowed in at one time. Masks and sanitizer were available as soon as I entered the store. Chock up another reason not to buy bikes from Canadian Tire or Walmart.
Best service department, good quality stock also, not tonns of crap stock of garbage like other places. Service department teaches you while they look at your bike and educate on what they could do to assist to a point where you could just buy what they suggested and DIY if you are mechanically inclined. Good honesty and non-douche service unlike that which you get at most shops in Edmonton, thats why I only shop at revo now.
Had a what was suppose to be a major tuneup. New brake pads were installed and were touching the rim of the front tire when I went on a ride. Had to go back to get them redone. This should have been checked out! wonder if there is anything else that was not really hacked carefully.
I went to buy and ebike (4000-6500$), young employee Was unable to answer any of my questions regarding the bikes in terms of motor, battery, output. Employee had long hair, was very young and very uneducated.
Also recieved poor Service, extreamly slow to get to the service department (line up) and when I was seen, the employee made me feel like he could give a sh!@ if I was there.
Go to United Cycle.
In these times you think that businesses would give a little bit more on the side of customer service.
I have been thinking about purchasing a new bike for quite some time, and really had no clue as to what would be suitable for me, my bf suggested we go check this place out as he had good experience there. Well I must say he was right, the staff was great, not pushy, there to help with all questions and concerns. Needless to say I left with the perfect bike for myself as well as the accessories needed. I will definitely go back there again and recommend anyone else wanting a bike or anything bike related to check it out, I am a happy customer.
Posting on behalf of my friends and because they missed out on biking with me due to the service shop here taking several months to complete anything!
I would not recommend taking your suspension or bike to be serviced here. The staff are friendly and some of them appear to be knowledgeable. That is however, until they've had your shock for 2 months and still haven't found parts (which we sourced ourselves within 1 hour). A rear shock should never take 2 months to rebuild... I don't care where they order parts from, O-rings can be purchased anywhere. My other friend had some fully functioning Fox 40 forks which magically didn't have any rebound control when he got his bike back from a "tune-up" (which came back dirty and the gears didn't even shift properly). They then told us we had to get new forks after giving us back a bike that wasn't even ride-able. They did end up giving us new forks at a good price but the hassle and ridiculously low quality of work here trumps all that.
Love this shop. Also love how they are handling sales during covid. We were met at the door, hooked up with an awesome rep who was friendly and knowledgable, but not pushy in any way. Stock was limited because apparently everyone and their dog is buying a new bike right now. We ended up not buying anything, despite two really fun test rides but will definitely be back.
Update - We ended up going back to the store and purchasing 2 new bikes. We had a much different experience the second time arround. The sales staff was knowledgable, friendly and helped us quickly after entering the store.
I highly recommend these guys to first time buyers and i have changed my review because of it. We have had our bikes for a few rides now and couldn't be happier with them.
************************************************ I have an avid Mountain Biking Co-Worker who recommended me to the shop. I liked the styles, the prices and initially the sales rep was being very helpful. (can't remember his name).
Until he went to check on stock / prices for us and then just never came back. I wondered the store for a bit (15-20 mins) in the general area i was left in and could not find him. After waiting atleast 20-30 mins without being returned to or even knowing who to ask for help we left.
We are looking to buy 2 bikes, we liked the idea of getting a free service and could have easily walked out with 2 bikes that evening. I'm not sure if it was due to the fact you were closing in 1 hour or if sat's event had people too busy to help (this was on friday).
I am hesitant to come back but after shopping a bit more i may return and give this location another chance solely on the trust of my friend and co-worker.
Local bike shop is very popular, and for good reason. The staff are friendly and will help you find what you re looking for. There can be a lot of people, and customer service may be slow but they will help you. They have a massive selection of bike brands and price points. The actual building is very nice and well maintained.
Cool bicycle place. Lots of cool bikes for the road, the mountain or the snow. Thin wheels or fat wheels, small wheels or big wheels they re here for you. If it s bike related then this is your place it will bring a smile to your face. If it breaks down then they can fix it. This place is clean and well lit.
Robert was an excellent sales person. 15+ years experience. Answered all my questions and then some, provided me with (better) options to compare and sold me a hell of a bike today.
All covid stuff was good too with instructions of where to walk and hand sani out. All good.
I literally said to my wife "I'm not buying today, just going to look" within 30 mins we were at the till paying for the new bike and 1 hr later I picked it up. All of my questions and objections were handled very professionally and I was very pleased with the transaction.
Robert even came to the parking lot to help me get the front tire off so I could load it into my SUV.
I highly suggest seeing these guys for your next bike. Amazing experience today. Thanks Revolution Cycle!
I drive from east of Sherwood Park to shop here after walking into several other bike stores and being treated as if I'm invisible. Staff at Revolution is always helpful, knowledgeable and don't ignore grey haired, non-athletic, female customers. Bought my bike here, service my bike here and will drive across the city to buy a tube here. Great service and selection
One of my favorite bike shops in the city. They went above and beyond this Christmas, working with my boyfriend to surprise me with my dream bike AND they even wrapped it in garland and put a bow on it! They are always nice and helpful, you won't regret coming here
I really appreciate Revolution, got a great deal on a used bike last year...got much more bike than my budget would have otherwise allowed...has been a solid ride...
Just bought a used bike privately for my girl friend and took it in for a quick service and lube at the end of a busy Saturday, in and out quick and ready to ride with a couple of minor recommendations
The service department was very sub-par. My bike was captive in the service department for days, as they wouldn't answer the phone or my emails. I was booked in for a specific day but it took me showing up a week later to hear from them. I am skeptical my bike was even tuned up at all. Unfortunately, they seem entitled by the covid demand.
The GM has an ego. I was overcharged for an item and when I called in to sort it out I got the GM. He was dismissive, rude, continuously told me I had to bring in the receipt (30 min drive) and accused me of fabricating the story....all before he made a single effort on his end. I won t be back. I still don t have the apology from the GM that I m owed.
The first time I visited Revolution the owner ( I think? ) ended up being the one who helped me and ultimately sold me my bike and by extension, sold my friends another 3.
Unfortunately for me, and the reason for the low rating is the past 3, maybe 4 times I've been in the store the staff has been more interested in their personal conversations than actually assisting me. When I absolutely needed help, or to pay for something I felt like I was interrupting their day. Not a good experience, and this past time I simply left and found the items at retail establishments that actually wanted the money.
They could literally fire 2/3 of their floor staff and maintain their current level of service.
I am looking to get into cycling this summer as a new hobby. I called the store hoping for some guidance and direction as to where to start, what to be looking for, etc. Rather than getting any sort of help from the employee I spoke with, I was simply told to go browse the website as all inventory is on there and take a look at their listings. Amidst all of Revolution Cycle's pleas right now to support local businesses, etc., I was quite disappointed to how they would treat a potential customer. Overall very disappointing customer service for someone who was looking to get into the sport.
Sorry but customer service was terrible, called on Monday to confirm my pickup, they made no effort to check if bike was ready, I was told I would get a text message when ready, have been waiting a week. have called twice to speak to someone and get voicemail each time. But hey, they got my 4K!
Thanks for getting me set up and doing so safely, so at this time I can work on improving my health and wellness! I have never had an indoor trainer so thanks for setting me up with my rear tire, advice on what else I would need and again providing safe and quick service. Cheers!
Having lived just down the street from Revolution Cycle, I've spent a fair amount of time and money at this place. They have a great selection of brands and lots of great bikes on display. That being said, I've had one experience with them that has been greatly disappointing and does not at all represent that of a good business.
I came in here one day and asked to order a part. They said they could get it, that it would take three weeks, and that I would have to put a deposit down. I said forget the deposit, I'll just pay for the whole thing since it's only a $30 item, and they can call me in three weeks when they get the part.
Three weeks later, they haven't called me at all, so on the way home from work I drive in to see what's going on with my order. They say they have received the part. I tell them it would be very convenient if they would call people when orders have come in. They tell me they are very sorry, it is a mistake that will not be made again. When they bring out the part it turns out they ordered the wrong item. I show them the paperwork and, lo and behold, the part numbers do not match. They say they will get back to the distributor and order the correct part, in return for another three weeks of waiting.
After patiently waiting for three weeks they still, once again, haven't called me. I decide to save myself the drive and just call them on the phone. They say the part hasn't arrived yet and they are having issues with the distributor. I tell them over the phone that, once again, it would be very nice if they would call customers to let them know what's going on with their orders and, once again, they apologize and promise to rectify the issue. They say they do not know when the product will come in, but that they will get in contact with the distributor and I will just have to wait a little longer.
The next day I happen to be in downtown Edmonton and walk into a competing shop, only to find that they have the exact part I am looking for and that they had just received it on order from the distributor the previous week. So after spending $30 and waiting six weeks, calling in and driving in to talk to the guys at Revolution about an update on my order, when it's they who should be calling me, I find that another shop can easily get parts out of the distributor, when the guys at Revolution could not do it themselves.
Needless to say, I am very disappointed with Revolution. Since this experience I have never been in there; I have made all of my friends and mountain biking acquaintances aware of the experience I had with this shop. This was not a proper way to treat a customer, loyal or not. Others may have a great experience with this shop, which is to be expected considering the fantastic selection of products, but I for one cannot bring myself to recommend this business to anyone.
The right shop if you're into biking. Almost all my purchases from gears to apparel were from here. And just bought a new helmet last week for my little boy and he liked it.
First time in Revolution Cycle. I was in the area and decided to stop in to check it out. Probably in/out in 10 mins. Went in the back door where the 2 tech guys greeted me right away. Walked down stairs where another friendly gentleman stopped to ask if I needed any help. I was looking at one of the Salsa s when another dude stopped to ask if I had any questions. The staff seem friendly but not overwhelming. Store looks well stocked. I ll be back;)
Great experience at Revo today. Lots of old schoolers still working there, and very welcoming especially in the current context. Service had everything I needed and helped me quickly. Well done.
