Very cool bike shop. Massive selection I was just looking as i am considering getting a new bike but the staff was just as helpful as if I was going to walk out with a bike today. Will definetly come back.
Seriously awesome place! Staff go above and beyond. Big shout out to Ben F for his amazingness. He tried his hardest to bring in a bike for me (brand in which they don't sell). Ultimately we had to purchase from a different store in Calgary but when I needed it to be serviced they treated my bike and me, as if the bike had been purchased there. Couldn't be more happy with the entire store and any of the staff I have met have been pretty rad. Go to Revolution. You will not be disappointed.
What can I say. Excellent service. We have had had countless good experiences with Revolution we continue come back. Thanks Ben for making our sons day. Love the new bike!
Mechanics in back do not take your questions into consideration , especially tall European guy . After 10 minutes going around in circles , the guy just couldn t admit he didn t know the answer . Rude staff . Won t be going again .
Best bike shop in town. Selection and quality are amazing, the store is very spacious so you can ride the bikes inside to try them out. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Go see Kurtis Davison, he is a real knowledgeable professional and really passionate about bikes.
It is my second bike purchased at Revolution Cycle since 2010, it is really worth the detour.
Went into the store buy a specific ebike- even though it was the most expensive one I was looking at, Glen didn t recommend it for me because it didn t fit right. He made some minor modifications to handlebar height and reach to help make it fit. Glen helped me for over 2 hours including finishing up the sale past closing time and was never pushy or made us feel rushed. Thanks Glen!
Great shop run by intelligent and honest people. I deeply respect their commitment to make their shop as safe and welcoming as possible.
The gentlemen in the back running parts and service have outstanding customer service and helped me figure out what strange freewheel tool I needed for my 50 year old Peugeot road bike.
Who else can do this?
I have been to Revolution cycle multiple. We purchased some kids bikes and I had my bike serviced. I have no hesitation recommending especially their service department. Always 2-3 guys ready to help and they have no problem looking at your ancient setup.
Yesterday I told them about a 2003 road bike that needed a different stem and seat post. The guys knew exactly which diameters I was looking for and gave me the required parts in a few minutes (I had been in a different store previously and they were not able to help me out). I replaced the parts at home and it all fits perfectly well. Looking forward to coming back.
Edit (in response to the owner's response):
My review is accurate. Strongly worded because the experience was bizarre and frustrating.
- Revolution owner claims Western is booking four weeks out. Western took a minute to look over the bike and hear me out when I walked in with this question. No one told me to wait a week or gave me excuses as to why they couldn't see if they could troubleshoot it.
- Revolution owner's service department is so busy. Maybe hire more people if business is so good? Or lose the front desk service department admin guy and hire another tech?
- Revolution thinks it's Apple with it's special tools. If your sales guy would have shared that info before I gave you non-refundable money, I probably wouldn't have bought your merch. But I LOVE how you tell me about this special tool when I tell you I'm going elsewhere to fix it.
- If the over priced bike you sold me is suspiciously not working like it should within the week or so following the purchase (ie. the chain skips for no reason), instead of accusing me of improperly storing it or trying to push the blame on me, how about you just take a look and see what you can do about getting me back on the trails? Something about the bike you sold me was garbage, and when you start making me wait any time to fix a problem that isn't reasonable for a new bike, then maybe you should own up to seeing what's up. Not this dissapointing, bureaucratic-like response.
The responses in service in your store vs. Western's is like night and day. @ Revolution, if you want to buy something, someone's more than happy to help. Once they have your money, their sales process is carefully crafted to make you spend more than you should or need to.
Again - $20 charge at Western vs. $40 at Revolution for the specific job. This in combination with my experience gives you the insight as to how this place works.
*** Below is the original post ***
Bottom line: Go to Western Cycle because Revolution is set up to extract as much money from you as possible. First they upsell you for the bike and then lie about what they really promised when you come back to maintain it. Or just flat out continue to extract more money from you because your situation is always a surprise to them.
For example, Revolution upsold me from an $850 bike to a $1200 one so that all my intermediate mtn biking needs are met. Take it out, told I have some warranty for one year and a free tune up after 20 hrs of riding.
Two weeks later I come in and they are already slithering out of promises I thought warranty would cover:
- my derailer became misaligned with all my 20ish hours of biking. can they take a minute to just adjust it? Nope. That's a future $40 appointment;
- the above appointment has to be different from the tune up appointment and in no way can a small adjustment to a derailleur be done because Revolution is all about the scam
Cherry on top of this relationship with this organization is summed up by the representative: I can't get my derailleur adjusted anywhere else because there's a special tool that only Revolution has access to. Thanks for the lie. My friend did the same thing for a beer. Don't have a friend that fixes bikes? try Western Cycle - I called them up, explained what the problem was and the bike I have, and found out they would charge $20 for the same service for the same bike. I even went into the store to show the guy what I needed just to make sure there's no misunderstandings as to was needed to be done, and - yup - $20.
Can't wait to tell everyone I run into about the great products and services Revolution's competitors have.
Firstly, I want to say that I have been a long term customer of Revolution Cycle and have ALWAYS ALWAYS had great service from both their service department and sales staff. Secondly I will continue to shop at Revolution Cycle as they are the best shop I have dealt with in Edmonton, and thus I created a new email address specifically for this review as I don't want to effect my relationship with the shop.
However, the other night I was witness to a, I am sad say, sad display of professionalism while I was in their service department. A young lady was asking about a special order part she had ordered and it was needed in a specific time frame. To which the gentleman working behind the counter asked the, from what I could gather, general manager what the typical time line is for parts. Long story short the GM took the interaction to the point where the lady was crying, because she couldn't get a word in edge wise with him. To me it seemed as if he was trying to show how he was RIGHT and she was WRONG!
I personally manage a local business and have to say if I was to EVER treat a customer in such away I would have a strip torn out of me by the owner. Frankly it was just disrespectful and unprofessional that I hope some backlash for the GM.
Moved to the area a year ago , didn't like changing shops but it's just allot more coveniant. After dealing with them a few times I would rather walk to Calgary for my many purposes of a near by bike shop. My personal service was good . I have been building and modifying. Bikes for many years and have never come across such ignorant staff if you can't be nice to the less fortunate customers work in a trendy hood . Like today for instance I am fitting a client that has a 3000 dollar budget and it's a block away but we will go down to Mec where I know were not going to get treated like thieves or chased out of the store cause I only wanna spend 800 dollars
Thank you Jesse. You and your staff made our kids very happy and excited for spring!
Pleasure doing business with you.
I had purchased a pair of shoes and after getting them home realized they didn t fit the way I expected. The gang at Revo went waaay above and beyond to sort it out and get me the right pair of shoes. I love their soft goods and have bought a couple of bikes from them as well. Thanks!!
I shop here for all my cycling needs. Recently I really needed new road cycling shoes after 10 years with my previous pair. Jeff and Michael were both super helpful and I love my new shoes.
The staff are very knowledgeable and are not pretentious. I never feel judged when I have questions about my bike maintenance or gear.
I also have attended the spin classes hosted throughout the winter.
Excellent service. Kris was able to assist me to provide me with what style of bicycle best suited my needs and even sized me for a frame.
Just wanted to give the team at Revo a shout out for their awesome customer service and bike servicing. I've been an avid cyclist for like 24 years and never rode in the winter. They sold me on some studded winter tires and a light and its opened up a whole aspect of the sport I wish I would have started a long time ago. Night riding and winter riding in the river valley is amazing. I also had to replace my drive train because I've logged some serious riding on the Stumpjumper they sold me a couple years ago. This place is like a toy store. Too many cool products. Shout out to Jesse, Ben, Dennis, Keith, Syd, and Jeff for all the great service over the years! And Lang, Kong, and Daylan for the solid service work!
Bought quite a few bikes from them over the years, had some service, lots of accessories and parts. Super friendly, helpful people. I try and buy locally as much as possible, they re very knowledgeable and a good group of people. It s a tough business, please support them if you can.
My dad and I have been going to this place for years. Knowledgeable staff and whether you're looking for parts and upgrades or a "budget-friendly" bike or something that's worth about 3 times your vehicle they'll help you to the same degree.
My son found the mountain bike that fitted his height and weight. The salesman was very knowledgeable and not pushy, he did not try to sell us a bike we could not afford.
I would definitely recommend this shop to others buying a bike.
They sell only bikes year around. This store does not sell bikes at the back as an add on to other sporting stuff.
Awesome bike shop for all your needs and great prices. I recommend this bike shop over any in the Edmonton area, and during this Covid pandemic they have been on the ball with cleaning and making everything safe for all their customers. Great job guys !!!!! Keep up the great work.
Always a pleasant experience at Revolution! Great prices, awesome, knowledgeable staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Just bought my fifth bike there! Happy times, cheers Tim.
Sale staff were awesome!! Very knowledgeable and explained every question I had in detail about bikes. I ended up buying a bike. Not my last time buying a bike from them. Always recommend to my friends drop by and check the store.
Purchased a high end used mountain bike from them in spring. After a couple rides I noticed a few issues with the bike. Initially was very disappointed in the service received. However after speaking with Ben F. a couple times, he came through and made it right. I would recommend this shop to others. Talk to Jeff in sales, he knows his bikes!
Been here many times for work on my bike over the years. The service is good and the staff are knowledgeable. Prices are fair and they do good quality work. I highly recommend this establishment
took my bike in for service 2 months ago, a month in I heard nothing about it, I tried calling, emailed, no reply back, I had to go in for them to tell me that they forget to order the part( in other words) a month goes by i get a text this part is broken beyond repair, so I had to replace the whole thing, adding $400 or more to my bill, with no other options I had to take it, and it was done 2 days later so I'm not sure if it was a money thing or I dont really know, 2 months not being able to ride my bike, pretty upset about it not the best service
Since moving to Edmonton, Revolution Cycle has earned it's place as my local bike shop of choice. From nailing pre-race tune-ups on our old 26ers, to fun weekly group rides for both road and trail, to helping my wife and I make informed choices on our brand-sparkling-new Rocky Mountain mountain bikes, Rev has come through for us time and time again. I would highly recommend Revolution Cycle to anybody looking for great selection, service, and sense of community.
Words cannot express how amazing this place is and the customer service they offer. The staff go above and beyond to accommodate you and help you in any way they can. If they do not know an answer or a solution to your problem (which is rare) they will search high and low to get it done for you. The level of expertise is outstanding! I love this place and their staff! Big shout out to Ben and Sid for all your help and putting up with my crazy questions/demands!
You gotta love a shop that answers product-related questions for someone who is thousands of miles away. I asked about comparing two brands that I have an interest in, but haven't found in the same place (or even nearby to where I live). Talk about great people-friendly service! Thanks!
When I first walked into Revolution I was blown away at how many options they offered for bikes. I found a bike in my price range and happily took my bike home. It was entry level but I loved it! Within 2 weeks of riding I had pushed the poor bike to its limits. I took it back for a tune up and spoke with Ben F about it and he quickly realized that because of my Motocross back ground I was riding beyond the bikes design. He didn't try to get me onto a bike I couldn't afford he found a sale bike that he knew would be a perfect bike for me. He was absolutely correct with his recommendation. He had the mechanics get the bike ready for me and I joined him and a bunch of other great people on the Wednesday group ride. I not only had a new bike but friends to go riding with. Ben has since sold me many more bikes and all of them come with great customer service and riding buddies.
The staff at Rev have always gone above and beyond for me and that has earned my loyalty as a customer. They are all bike guys from the Owner Dennis, to the sales staff and Mechanics, this shows in the way they treat the customer. I cant say enough about how great an experience it is to go to Rev.
If you don't go to Rev you are doing yourself a disservice! Take an hour and go talk to the sales staff and by the end you will know more about bikes and be confident in the decision you make on your new purchase.
Definitely a place to go if your looking for a bike. Staff are very accomodating and will answer anything you need to know about bikes. I got my bike on a great deal. Thanks to Ken for helping us out!
Best Customer Service Received From Jesse
I was at the store picking up something for my son and noticed that they had the type bicycle I was looking for on sale. I didn't need a bike as I already had one at home but I wasn't fond of the bike I had at home. I went back to the store after work with hubby to take a closer look at it. Jesse was very friendly and knowledgable. He recommended a different bike as the one I was interested in was too tall for me. He pumped up the tires on the bike he recommended and allowed me to "test drive" it in the basement of the store. A little Hair raising for me as there were so many bikes down there I was nervous I might crash into them. Jesse was right, the bike he recommended was perfect for me and we purchased it. He got it ready for us to pick up the next day and we took it home. It was purchased as a birthday gift in November. I was a little sad that I wouldn't be able to do a lot of riding because it was winter but there wasn't very much snow on the ground so Yeah I did take it for a few spins and I love it. Thank you Jesse for the awesome service. I will be back.
I bought my Cube road bike from revolution after a couple visits to buy tubes for my other bicycle and a tool kit. Each time I've been to the store the customer service experience has been great. Large variety of bike, parts, and accessories. Polite, helpful, and knowledgeable staff. Revolution offers a free check up and service on the bikes they sell up to a year after purchase. The only draw back is it's extremely buy this year due to the increasing interest in cycling so there can be a long line out front due to covid 19 regulations. There is a staff member outside to answer any questions before yoy get inside the store to helpbwith efficiency once you get inside the store you are served with care and attention so its worth the wait. If you are waiting for the parts department you can usually get fast tracked through the line up outside.
I bought a 2018 carbon fuse here and unfortunately less than a year later I had a garage break in.. 6 months later I get a call from Jesse at Revolution telling me they found my bike for sale on line. They then helped to coordinate with eps who set up a sting, I had my bike back same night and dirt bag went to jail. If your questioning who has the best service in town, you know where I stand. Just great!
While I was in, store declined to serve a customer who rudely refused to wear a mask while lying about having a medical exemption. THANK YOU for prioritising the health of your customers. Highly recommend this store.
This bike shop doesn't deserve a one star rating! Super rude! Not customer oriented and judge mental. We came in to purchase 5 e bikes but they were super rude! So we purchased Benelly Nerone! We are super happy with the product we purchased and recommend it. They also have great customer service! Happy Trails
Great shop, knowledgable and friendly staff, helped keep my grandma alive
Went in for a couple bearings. Service guy laughed at my bearing. Went in back and came back out with nothing. Said he didnt have any. Didnt offer to order any in for me. He referred me to Klondike cycle right down the road. Ok. Went to Klondike cycle. They said they didn t have any but would gladly get me couple in. We have 6 bicycles in our house hold that will need servicing from time to time. I will not spend a dollar in this place if you payed me. Thanks Klondike cycle. Bike up and running no thanks to revolution cycle.
Rude service, not very friendly after 10 mins escorted around by a sales rep I left and went to Mud Sweat & Gears around the corner was quickly greeted and was allowed to browse at my leasure (no escort no guard) was there almost an hour ended up buying my KONA there after talking and being informed about the bike they checked it over and I walked out happy and pleased with the service and purchase. Thank you
To bad revolution is sacrificing service they could do alot better
Purchased a Gary fisher MTB was excited for the style and how it was on sale. Store was busy so they told me to come back at a later time so they could go over the bike to make sure it was in proper condition. Three days later I came back and got seriously burnt. Noticed when commuting back and forth from work the rear sprocket was missing a cog (only 6 and a lot of slop) and front derailleur was not correct for bike ( would hit the frame) when I approached manager they told me there was no way their employees would send a bike out like that and I must have tampered. 300 later dollars crankys bike shop in st albert corrected the issues for me. So much for the sale.
I have moved on from that bike and store. CRANKYS offers great service and united cycle has amazing value.
I have made a few visits to this shop just buying parts here and there for my build so this review is tailored toward the parts and service team.
My most recent visit was getting a set of wheels built. They were done a day earlier than quoted and the build quality was excellent. The cost of the build and some other misc parts I purchased were a bit higher than other shops but service comes with a price.
Some other shops in the city have seemed uneducated or unclear on product and recommendations but Revolution has proven to know their stuff.
Wiped out on some ice during my commute and broke my front brake. Revolution Cycle is close to my route so I took my bike in to repair my brake. The staff were extremely friendly, understanding, and fixed my brake free of charge! I'll definitely go back to Revolution Cycle for anything bike related.
Update:
I decided to upgrade to a road bike in October 2019. Since it was end of season most bike shops did not have a road bike in my budget and size. Revolution, however, was the only bike shop that actually wanted to work with me to find a bike within my budget (other shops either said sorry out of stock or tried to sell me on a bike well out of my budget). I actually had two experiences at Revolution. My first experience was with Jeff who let me try out a used road bike which was in great condition was well below my budget. Even though I did not end up buying a bike from Jeff (I decided I did not want buy used), I felt he never tried to up sell me. My second experience was with Jamie. I arrived at Revolution cycle in the evening close to closing, however, Jamie did not rush me and let me try a multiple options from different brands whilst staying as close to my budget as possible. In the end I went a little over my budget, however, I felt the price I paid for my bike was more than fair. I've taken my bike back to Revolution a quick fitting to relieve some soreness I did not experience on other bikes and Jamie was able to adjust the bike to the point where I am now able to ride my bike for hours with no pain.
While shopping for a new road bike, I found that Revolution cycle had the best selection and service out of all the bike shops in Edmonton. I highly recommend them.
Great selection, more than friendly service, great place to buy a bike and accessories. Top notch.
My family keeps coming back to buy more bikes. Service is always friendly and knowledgeable. Selection is normally awesome but this year (2021) gets an asterisk.
Best bike store I've ever shopped at. I've been a customer of several bike stores over the years, in Edmonton and while living abroad. I can definitely attest to the fact that this store is absolutely gorgeous, well laid out, with a huge assortment of bikes, gear and accessories. Their mechanics are quality and I've never had any issues. Prices are competitive and in the case you find a cheaper deal, they'll aim to be competitive. The staff is super knowledgeable and passionate about bikes. All very genuine people. Jeff, Jesse, Ben, and Keith are awesome to deal with. This is the only place to shop for bikes in Edmonton. I've been a customer for 16 years.
I would shop here more frequently if it wasn't so far away from my place. The store is HUGE with a VAST selection of bikes and accessories of all kinds. I had to buy a very oddball size tire for my cruiser, and while they did not have it in stock, they were the only store out of over a dozen I phoned around the city that could order one for me. It was also reasonably priced and arrived in a reasonable amount of time.
Dealt with Ben to purchase my first bike, very helpful and easy to deal with.
I appreciate the selection and excellent customer service here.
As a female with a baby in toe, I was a bit nervous going in to seek service on my mountain bike, but once inside I didn t feel out of place at all. There was a wide selection of women oriented MTB products and all the staff were super friendly and helpful which made me feel welcome.
I ll definitely be back :)
Bryce Page sales associate gave myself and my wife top notch service. He was super knowledgeable and very patient help us right up to loading our truck!!! I would recommend this shop to anybody who wants great service and wants to upgrade their bikes!!! I walk away as a happy customer!!! Thank you
*EDIT* The shop was helpful and prompt in replacement of the cracked frame. Both Revolution and Specialized determined that the cracked frame was not a warranty issue and I was charged for a frame replacement at cost and shop charge for swapping components on to the new frame. I was much happier with they way I was treated the second time around.
I bought a new bike (Specialized AWOL Comp) from Revolution Cycle. After riding the bike for a couple of weeks I noticed a small crack in the frame. I brought the bike back to the store and they were initially in agreement with me that this was a warranty issue and the frame had failed. After a month I was told that I had cause the frame crack and there would be no warranty. I was offered a new frame (which I would pay for) and a $200 shop charge for a frame swap. I rode the bike to and from the store five times, at no point do I see when I would have caused this damage.I tried to ask for information to contact the manufacturer but was told that would not be possible and that the bike store had to act as a middleman between the customer and the manufacturer. I was basically being told I was lying about the mechanism of damage.
Repeated phone calls to Specialized and visits to the shop got me no where. Each time I tried to ask for help with what was an obvious warranty issue I was told it was not their decision and I was bounced back and forth between the manufacturer and the shop. At one point a salesman at the store claimed I would ride it doesn t look that bad. I bought the bike with the intention of taking it on long trips far from any support. Needless to say, but I think a broken frame would be a sure way to get stranded.
In the end, both bike shop and manufacturer ignored me and have not stood behind the bike they produce/sell. The frame is steel and built and marketed as an adventure touring bike that should be rugged enough to carry a heavy load and used for long distance trips far away from any available service. I am ultimately very unhappy with the service and treatment of this store and I would not recommend dealing with them. It seems as soon as they had my money they were happy to sluff me off and not stand behind their customer or the product they sell. I would also never purchase another Specialized product as they obviously do not honor their warranty.
Geat Bike shop. Really nice staff. Excellent inventory. Very Cool.
Went in to Revolution to buy a bike without much of an idea of what I was looking for. Thankfully, Ben, a staff member, was very knowledgeable and helpful, and I felt confident that the bike and accessories that I purchased were exactly what I needed for my purposes. Actually spent less money than I had expected to, and never felt like I was oversold on things that I didn't need. Loving the bike as well, rides great, already faster than I thought I would be at this point. I highly recommend this place to anyone who's looking to buy a bike, great staff, huge selection, don't go anywhere else.
Looked for my first road bike here, the employees were nice and made sure I found what I wanted. They made sure I had a good fitting with the bike by doing some measurements and give lots of tips and tricks in maintaining the bike. They have a check up service that they recommend within a month of purchase, just make sure you schedule an appointment as their service department is busy.
I brought the bike in for service and let's just say I'm not impressed. There was a part that needed to be ordered but they didn't tell me until I called them after two weeks leaving it with them. When I did receive my bike back, the shifter cables were replaced but the grommets were missing from the bike and the cable protectors that were originally on the bike when I first got them are now gone. Seems like they don't really care for my bike when they charge as much as they do for a shifter cable change.
Nothing but the best service here at revolution cycle. Coming here for years and will continue to as long as I live in edmonton
My bike store of choice. I have always had a good experience with Revolution Cycle. The people are friendly and helpful. I have a fairly expensive bike from them, but when we bought my wife's budget bike they had exactly the same friendly, helpful attitude.
Firstly, I will state that this is a very nice shop with what seems to be knowledgable staff and a very good inventory with a wide range of bikes in a lot of different price ranges, even during the bike buying pandemic.
I recently bought a bike here and the sales process was very good, even when I came back to look for a 2nd bike, the sales person was very helpful. Unfortunately I did not leave with a 2nd bike at no fault of the sales person.
Service department is very busy during this time so bookings are difficult. But they got me sorted out quickly, even when I took my bike back for an re-adjustment.
I have gotten my bike repaired twice and both times great service. The staff were very helpful and my bike is in the best shape it's ever been. I will be recommending this place to my friends.
Excellent bike shop, shopping here since 1994 , very knowledgeable and helpful.
My favourite bike store to go to. The staff are friendly and always offer great guidance. Right now it is one of the few stores taking things seriously enough I feel safe going in.
Great selection of bikes in 2 different levels. Staff is nice and really helpful catching me up on the changes in bicycle tech since i last rode a lot in the mid 90's. Once i finally can decide on one bike ill be back!
Fantastic place to shop for a bike. Knowledgeable staff who actually ride, great selection, very active in the community.
Haven t had experience with service there but when I have come in for specific parts or sealant they ve been great. Have just what I need, like bars or cassettes and more for better better prices than I have been able to find. The guys I ve always been helped with always were friendly and asked what I was working on. They know exactly what parts I ask for too. Great place
After spending a year on a Canadian Tire special, I needed to upgrade my wheels. Dave took me under his wing and explained all the options and why they matter or don't. I felt completely understood and taken care of. I would send anyone here including NY mother. Check them out, you won't be sorry
I came into the store, no one said hello to me, or even acknowledged that I was there.
I waited by the til, with a visa in hand no less, and waited. After about five minutes one employee comes down, goes over to the til, works on it for about a minute, and then leaves again, without even acknowledging me. Not even a "hi, can I help you with something?". A few more minutes pass, another employee comes down and asks a third employee for change. They do this transaction, AGAIN without even acknowledging me. Finally, after a few more minutes, a fourth employee comes down, goes over to the til, and just looks at me. No, "Hi, how are you?", no "have you been helped yet?". Unfortunately I was there buying a gift card for a friend, but if I was purchasing something for myself, there would be no way in hell I would have bought it. The employee didn't even thank me for my business or say goodbye. This is possibly the worst service I have experienced in my life.
If I have one word of advice, do not even bother with any other bicycle stores in town other than Velocity Cycle. Velocity Cycle's service is 1000 X more superior than Revolution Cycle - at Velocity, you are welcomed with open arms, treated like family, and provided top of the line expertise from every team member. I will definitely not be going back to Revolution Cycle.
If you want to shop bicycles or talk, we are the place in Edmonton!
Our sales staff are all passionate cyclists of some manner; most are veterans of the bike industry with a decade or more experience. Sales floor is massive at 40,000 sq ft, and we have tonnes of inventory.
We carry Cannondale, Cube, Electra, Moustache, Salsa, Scott & Specialized bicycles and all accessories, clothing and parts you may need.
I had a wonderful purchase experience at Revolution Cycle. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Ben spent a good hour with me assessing the best options for me. He presented a couple of options that were available in store at the time, which isn't easy given that I required an XXL frame size. After that, we looked at what was on order and I ended up purchasing one on order. Luckily it only took about 1.5 months to arrive, which is better than most other bike shops which were telling me that 2022 was most likely for something in that frame size. Upon pickup, they walked through the whole bike with me as technology has changed quite a bit since my last bike purchase nearly 25 years ago. They also provided advice and recommendations on additional tools and accessories for me to look at in the future.
Depending on your price point, there may not be a whole lot available in stock, but that's like any other bike shop at the moment. Speak with a sales associate and see what they have available on order as they're always receiving product.
We have bought 2 bikes this last year from them. Staff/owners are helpful, knowledgeable and patient. Also gave great advice on bikes and riding tips. Well run company and lots of selection. Definitely would go back.
Went in to Revolution last night about half an hour before closing time- I received exceptional customer service even as their staff were nearing the end of their day. The boys in the service department went above and beyond to help me outfit a couple bikes with some Chariot parts & helped entertain my 3 year old while we waited- I mean above and beyond- I watched my bike get a custom made axle and a mini tune while it was on the stand. When it came time to pay I was more than happy to pay the very reasonable bill. I'm sure it could have been double elsewhere and that simple chain lube and small once over earned my business going forward. Its refreshing to get solid advice and HELP from a shop - I know very little about bike parts/maintenance; they were easy to talk to, didn't make me feel like an idiot and treated me more than fairly at the till. Nice to find a local, independent shop doing everything right- Thanks and see you again soon.
Fantastic place to shop! Purchased many bikes from here and the staff have always been fantastic. Friendly and timely service when getting bikes repairs. Great selection of parts and clothing.
Absolutely amazing shop!! One of my fav shops in the city. Whenever I need a unique part for my old bike, they have it when nobody else does! Love that they have the used bike section as that seems to always have a quick turn around. Sick staff with some spicy bikes!! Stop by for sure. The A.C is also nice lol
Go see Kurt! One of the best and most knowledgable salesman I have ever dealt with. Super helpful.
HORRIBLE experience at Revolution Cycle! My son purchased a bike a few weeks ago from Revolution Cycle. He only had the opportunity to ride it 3 times as he had to leave the province for work. He was happy overall with the bike but after a few rides felt the gears were no longer operating smoothly. His older brother rode it and confirmed so I accompanied my older son with the bike to Revolution Cycle to have it adjusted. A service tech adjusted the bike and we we left the store. Awesome...So far so good! My son decided to test the bike once we got outside and after 3 or 4 revolutions of the pedals the left pedal flew off causing my son to almost crash. He was able to control the bike somewhat and only ended up hurting his ankle and causing damage to his shoes. Customers outside came over to see if he was okay! We returned pedal and parts in hand and told the service dept what happened and asked them to fix it with a new undamaged pedal. The bike was taken into the back of the service dept and my son and I sat around waiting to see what they planned to do as no one was saying too much to us at this point. Eventually a man came over and spoke to us. He did not identify himself by name but we were to find out later through staff that he was the owner. He was extremely rude, arrogant and condescending! He told us that they were putting on a new pedal however he took no responsibility for the situation and kept on saying that my son had to have messed with it. I assured him that was not the case, a fact that I confirmed with my son over the phone just to be 100% clear. The owner refused to accept this and repeated over and over and over again that uh yeah he did and when I told him repeatedly that neither son had adjusted the bike in any way he then sarcastically said well then his buddy did . He showed no interest in listening to the details of the incident not did he ask about or care about my son getting hurt. Customers showed more concern and empathy than the actually owner of the store! Also, my son since informed me that the pedals were not installed on the bike when he purchased it. The service tech installed them. So the pedals were installed by their service techs, and the bike was worked on minutes before the pedal blew off and injured my other son but it was due to the fault of something we had done!!! Really???? I understand things happen, and my injured son was most understanding considering he was the one who was hurt and his favourite pair of runners damaged. What we really wanted was obviously to have the bike repaired but also to have the owner or manager to actually show respect and concern!! Neither of which we received from him. Finally the repair was completed and bike was tested before being returned to us. The service manager came and spoke to my son and I, and he was thankfully gracious and actually listened to us. He tried explaining in technical terms why they felt this could not have been the fault of the store which is still incomprehensible to us but at least he was kind and listened and apologized which was really all we wanted to hear from the start of this whole mess. I may not be savvy when it comes to bikes but I do know the frickin pedals should stay on when they have been installed by a service tech. So a brand new bike whose pedals were installed at the store at time of purchase and was serviced immediately before the pedal blew off somehow had this happen due to something we apparently did even though I repeatedly assured the owner nobody did anything to the bike other than ride it a few times. I have purchased a number of bikes for my sons and myself at Revolution Cycle over the years but this is most definitely the very last one! We were treated like liars and idiots from the owner instead of valued customers who were in my opinion calm and showing great patience under the circumstances. I will warn my friends and my family to stay away!!!
I was in the store, they were very knowledgeable and quick service. Didn't have the part but they were the only ones that gave me directions of who else could have the rare part. Keep up the good work and excellent customer service.
I have been going here fairly often over the last month or so and I was satisfied every time. The staff know what they're doing. will go back again in a heartbeat. I will also encourage others to go as well, even just to have a look around
Following a missing item sent away for repair, Revolution put in a lot of effort to get the missing seatpost back from the distributor. The top of the line seatpost I bought from Revolution Cycle was easily the biggest purchase I'd ever made for an after-market attachment for my bike and I was really happy to get it back in the end. The store manager really came through for me as customer in this incident.
Overall, a great selection of bikes, clothing, etc, but customer service can be hit or miss in regards to attentive service when browsing for bikes and other items. Some staff have been excellent in approaching me and other times you are avoided by staff who are chatting or don't seem to notice customers in their shop. I think if they notch up their game just a bit in the sales department, it'll be that much better of a shop. The repair staff is always friendly and approachable.
Low selection (not their fault with what's currently going on, suppliers have limited parts to ship) but excellent customer service as always.
Very knowledgeable staff, great buying experience, you can test ride in the show room 5/5
Awesome, the staff is the best, friendly, no pressure, and so helpful. Can't say enough!
Smaller place, but very great service. These guys work for your business. They know hardcores already know what they want, and are great at shifting newbies to quality. A very friendly place. I would go there even if they cost more, but they are very competitively priced. Very professional. Very friendly, but most bike shops are.
Best local bike shop in Edmonton: a large selection of new and consigned bikes, and the service department that stands by their work.
I purchased a road bike from Revolution in 2012, it has been great and the service there has been exceptional. This year I wanted to get a mountain bike and they were a lot of help and very patient as I tried out the bikes - in the end they suggested I make a few adjustments to my road bike and re-assess the need for a mountain bike the following year. This is exceptional as rather than worry about another sale, they were interested in helping me enjoy my existing bike! I got my bike fitted and Mike in the fitting room was great; patient and professional. A new seat, handle bars and I love my road bike again!
Best bike shop in town. Super knowledgable crew who are very helpful in getting you the right bike for your needs.
A few years back I bought my first mid range mountain bike for trial riding from rev( A cannondale lefty). The next year thinking I had bikes all figured out I decided to purchase a fat bike piece by piece and build the dream bike I wanted.
Once all the parts arrived I realized my mistakes and need some professional help. The service department at rev got the bike together and with some amazing product knowledge, as well they figured out a custom bottom bracket to get everything working.
I have ridden the bike for 2 seasons trouble free, and just had my 1st major service completed at their shop, and once again they are king of the hill.
Many thanks to Ben and all the staff at Rev.
Tom
I have placed an order for it to be shipped, but last second had someone pick it up. I called them and they had it read and out front in 10 mins during these times where everything is at a slower process.I really recommend revolution cycle. I have order from CBP and am still waiting 10+ days for them to even process my order. Meanwhile revolution treated me as a priority.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great inventory, smooth process even with covid regulations
I bought my bike here, and the staff *seemed helpful and friendly. There was no bike fit attempted, the staff member just said "get on and give it a try in the parking lot," which I did. He said if it felt good then it was a good choice. I thought it felt ok. Unfortunately it wasn't until way later (after finally going for a bike fit test from another bike store) that I learned that the mechanics of the bike were all off for me. The frame size of the bike they sold me was too small and my knees were too far over the pedals which over time led to knee pain. The bike mechanic from the second store I went to said that I should go back to Revolution and complain that they didn't properly advise me on the fit of the bike. Unfortunately, when I talked to them they said my warrantee had elapsed because I had bought it the previous season. Now I have a 1500 dollar bike which I have to accept will never fit me properly, and it is not possible to correct this because the frame is too off for my body mechanics. I believe they were more interested in making a quick sale than helping me find a bike which worked for me, and I paid the price for trusting them.
EDIT: August 2017 I received a phone call from the Revolution Cycle promotion manager. He was apologetic about my situation, and said he wished I could have been helped more adequately. He said my experience wasn't typical of the way Revolution Cycle normally helps people buy a bike. Unfortunately it's still too late for me to resolve this problem short of getting a new bike, but I am impressed he called so I'm raising my review from 1 to 2 stars.
Guys were great to work with! Bought the bike on the way through Edmonton and got to the store on the late side of closing, Dan worked with me and did not pressure to hurry up or anything wanted to make sure I was good with the purchase, helped me load the bike up into my vehicle after hours to squeeze it into the back. Got home in MB and found a small problem, contacted the store and they made arrangements to take it to a local bike shop to get it all fixed up! Can t beat service like that no wonder they are the top shop in Edmonton! Well done Team Revolution Cycle!
Have bought several bikes here in the past and it has been a wonderful. However business is obviously on the rise given the circumstances and you really feel it. I bought a bike for my girlfriend here last week and felt too rushed to make a purchased for myself. Came back today and could not have felt less appreciated as a customer. I realize that my business is not as important when your inventory is moving as quick as it is, but it probably wont always be this way.... oh well, off to redbike.
