Revolution Cycle is my go-to shop for cycling products and service. After having had disappointing experiences at a few other shops, the expertise and helpfulness of the Revolution Cycle staff was amazing! They are extremely knowledgeable and have always guided me to what suited my needs, rather than what external marketing/articles/blogs, etc. may have convinced me I needed. They have my complete trust and continued patronage! Highly recommended!

Been having shifting problems with my bike and took it to the shop I bought it a few times. Decided to take it to somewhere else. Smooth shifting so far after taking it to Revolution cycle. Much appreciated!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
I have to modify my previous review posted on google and I owe an appology to reveloution cycle's team for judging them. They definitely deserve 5 out of 5.
First of all, I had a phone call from Michael only couple hours after posting my review on saturday afternoon, he listened to me patiently and tried to find out the issue. It shows their strong commitment to customers and really appreciated.
Secondly, my bike was making annoying noise and I was sure that something is wrong with the bike, but I was wrong, the issue was just because of an accesory attached to the frame and it was gone as soon as I removed that thing. They couldnot find the source because only in some certain position the accessoy was hitting the frame.
I strongly recommend reveloution cycle to anyone who want to buy a bike.
Great team.

Dropped my bike off on May 26th for a service and had to go to the field for a week and a half. Was told it would be done a few days after I dropped it off. Came back on June 4th and was told that it wasn't done, that it 'fell through the cracks'. It's a fatbike, it shouldn't be falling through any cracks.

It's seriously uncool to tell someone their bike would be done and then a week later no one has even looked at it.

Very happy with our experience at Revolution Cycle. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Willing and eager to work with us. Very well stocked store! Provided a lot of options for what we were looking for, worked with us to determine which option was best. Left the store feeling very confident in our purchase.

We came to buy a bike for my son. The customer service was atrocious. We browsed for several minutes and no one approached or acknowledged us. We then asked for assistance and were told to head downstairs, thinking someone would come see you us there. No one was downstairs, so we browsed and waited for 15 minutes before we heard someone coming downstairs. The employee walked past us, again without acknowledging us. After 20 minutes, we decided to leave the store. We will not be buying any future merchandise or recommending this establishment.

The service is exceptional. We missed our 1 year free check up on my daughter's bike due to COVID but after a crash the bike wasn't gearing up and down well. Revolution Cycle honoured the free check up even though we were a few months late and changed the cables to make it work. They are really helpful, knowledgeable and eager to help. Super impressed.

This has been my bike shop for years for purchase, repairs, maintenance and upgrades. When the AWOL I wanted couldn't be found in North America in my size (small), they helped me build one even better for an equivalent cost. The have excellent ride groups that are inclusive and are very supportive of women in the sport. Additionally, they don't judge my lack of knowledge of components or total skill in destroying them. Recently, I have been so thankful for their comprehensive health and safety policy. For a time during this pandemic my elderly parents confined themselves with us. Our only family outings were to bike and we needed some parts. I felt totally comfortable after reviewing their policy's. Because of them we were able to continue doing something we love and getting a small slice of normal. I understand people are using this platform to downrate them exclusively because of their health and safety policy's, I ask the public to please read the comments and inform themselves as to the reason behind a batch of low ratings. This is an excellent bike shop for all types of riders and our family highly recommend them.

I went into this store with very high expectations. I had purchased a bike here before and loved it. This time around the first salesperson we saw was fine but then we met Kurt. He was kind professional and very patient. Great salesman! Knew his bikes and did not oversell any of the stores bikes. Although I had to return my purchase I was very impressed with Kurt and and everyone we dealt with. I must say they did the return and they did not have too. A great place to buy a bike!!

Great shop is all I can say! I bought a new ride here in the early spring and the customer service has always been flawless.

Mechanics are knowledgeable and willing to take time to explain things if you have any questions.

It is never difficult to find a sales person who has experience using any of the thousands of products they have in stock.

Icing on the cake? Bought pedals yesterday - they forgot to put one they had on display back in the box, so what did they do? One of their workers dropped off the pedal after work. Thanks Jill!

Was in the store July 23rd looking at bikes. Ken was quick to offer help and good at explaining the ins and outs of the various bikes. They could use either a more detailed spec sheet on the bikes or easy access to them as the fine details on specs between the different price points is - check the manufacturers website. Now no way I expect a salesman to have that level of knowledge on hundreds of bikes, but it is why you need a comparative spec sheet so the customer can have it explained to them. I admit to being a low knowledge buyer, so even seeing the specs I would need someone to explain the difference between a Shimano x vs y model derailleur. I go to a bricks and mortar for their service and knowledge, if I wanted to buy online I didn't need to leave the house.

Can't say I was overly impressed with having to hand over my driver license in order to ride the bike around the parking lot, pretty sure there aren't many 60+ year old guys stealing bikes, but I guess that is the world we live in.

I was seriously considering buying here so decided to read the Google reviews. I don't take the 1 and 2 star reviews as gospel but what I do take REALLY serious are the responses by the owner to those reviews. Even when the store acknowledges the error was theirs there is nothing except sorry, no come back for a full refund on the poor service since we screwed up etc. That and the number of complaints about being poorly treated by the service department when asking legitimate questions suggests that the purchase experience might be okay but subsequent service or repairs may well be an issue, as will turn around time. Given this will be a large dollar purchase I think I will look for an alternative vendor.

I have bought 3 bikes for my family from Revolution Cycle. My last Scott bike the (MSRP*) was over $3000, I will include a picture of the great cable/line management.
I understand the challenges due to COVID. So therein lies the problem. Revolution will not take service phone calls. instead, you are asked to send your question in an email to store@revolutioncycle.com
They claim to have a 1 business day response time. I'm currently past 6 weeks with no response to my multiple emails. My question is easy since it's about the service work that needs to be done. I have also tried with a different email account with the simplest of bike questions and zero response from Revolution. Adding to that, on two separate occasions I brought my wife's and mine bikes in. Just to be turned away. I was told that my ageing 2014 and 2015 bikes didn't need any servicing. My time is worth something, so is yours. If you can't speak with anyone on the phone, and you can't have your emails answered. If you get turned away when you want to pay for bike maintenance? I am at a loss here.

Update Sep 11/20
I have resent my emails as the on-line support requested, I am still waiting for a response.

Update Sep 13/20
Not sure why my emails to store@revolutioncycle.com have not been responded to. My email is the same as the review. I did call but got the voicemail for online ordering. I will call the next business day

I changed my review from a 1 star to a 4 star, since I don't normally do reviews. I wish I could delete my experience and this review. I honestly had loyalty to Revolution Cycle since I grew up close by. Also I wanted to support Revolution since they bring a good vibe to that part of the city.
Tonight I called a competitor bike shop and had all my questions answered within 5 mins. and I'm booked for service.

I have purchased bikes here in the past, as well as multiple bike products. Everyone here is knowledgable, friendly, and great to work with!! Revolution Cycle is my go-to store for anything cycling related, and I trust all the employees opinions!

Update: I especially appreciate the care Rev has taken to make people feel comfortable during the pandemic. Assigning shoppers, mandatory masks, and limited time spent in store have all helped me and my partner feel more comfortable when we run in to the store to grab a bike part or whatever.

Thank you for the amazing customer service!!

They were strong during sales. Seemed helpful. Promised a lot. Initial experience was 5

We bought two bikes (over $2300 total; which is a lot for us).
After riding we realized that my wife s does not meet her needs; she regrets her purchase. My suggestion, to others, is to take more time before making a purchase because she now know what she d like better, but it is to late.

My bike is great; until it isn t. The chain falls off all the time, the chain broke once (which they did fix quickly when I bused the bike to them), and changing the front gears sucks. But overall I like the bike.

Even with the little buyers remorse, we were satisfied with our new bikes overall.

However this year they will not return calls or pick up the phone for the *free* 1 year tune up. Their service department has been horrible to get in touch with.
So two stars because their service sucks.

**edit after follow up, and bump to 4 stars**

I spoke with revolution staff and it sounds like they are having issues with their phone and voice mail. I strongly encouraged them to get that updated ASAP.

Once I finally brought the bikes in, they were really friendly (as they are in person) and were able to checkup both bikes the same-day. They diagnosed my wife s issue and the fix was relatively inexpensive.

My suggestion for other people is to try contacting revolution via their Facebook page or simply going into the shop. or press 1 to get sales and ask for service.

Not sure I would go anywhere else now! I've stood around kicking tires at other places, with no help to be found (their loss). Revolution Paired me with a rep as I walked through the door. Jeff was awesome, knew his stuff (and if he didn't know something, he had a knowledgeable team he used). I've had a couple others help me there too - ALL fantastic! Even after-sales, they make sure you're still happy (vs 'take the money and run'). For all that and more, I'll be back again and again. I 110% recommend RC

I recently purchased a Cannondale Habit 3. I hadn't really looked into these bikes prior to buying this one. I must say it has surpassed my expectations. Jesse helped me get set up and worked with me to find the bike that best suited my needs. Since the purchase I've gone in and have experienced nothing but the best customer service. Even in the insanely busy times, they're courteous and easy to work with. I'll only shop here going forward. I truly believe we should support local at every opportunity.

I bought a Scott 720 Scale here in the summer...went for a total of 4 rides around the neighborhood and the bottom bracket fell apart...mever been off road or anything. I took it in and they said they would phone me when it was ready, should be next day. I waited but no call. A week went by and I phoned, they said the frame was faulty and they ordered a new one. A month went by no call. I phoned and they said there was shipping delays. I asked for a refund and they said store policy was no refund. I waited another month. I had to phone them and they said the same thing! I said the riding season is over and I never got to use my bike at all!! I want a refund! I just left another message. These guys made no effort at all to make things right in this special circumstance. I have reported them to the better business bureau. I paid $1800 for absolutely nothing. How would you feel in my situation?

Absolutely great place to buy a bike. They have a huge selection and a fantastic staff to get you what you need and not try to oversell you something beyond your budget. I dealt with Levi and he was incredibly helpful and considerate to my wife and I, and the whole team made buying and shipping the bike easy and painless. Hats off to Revolution Cycle. We'll be back.

The service guys really came through for me today. I went in there for a winter tire change and also mentioned that the basket I bought from here wasn't able to hold the weight of my (actually very heavy) purse, but the build of my bike doesn't support any other design of basket or rack. So instead of shrugging it off, they put their heads together and rigged up the basket I had so that it could work for me after all. Thanks guys!!

I stopped in today just to enquire about some bikes , price range ect. in store bike expert Ben was fantastic, super helpful, very knowledgeable, I walked out with a 2020 Cube pro 29 , couldn't be happier with my purchase, I was very pleased to see the covid19 guidelines in place for my and the employees safety !! I will definitely return for any future purchases... well done Revolution cycle !!

Easily one of the best local bike shops in Edmonton. Diverse selection of products, knowledgeable and approachable staff. Always a friendly and inviting visit to the shop
I got my fist bicycle from Rev when I was 12 years old in the early 2000 s. My siblings and I have been a loyal customer since.
After saving up for about a year, I purchased a brand new Specialized and had some interest in modifications before delivery. Bearded Ben was the hero and was able to work with me on getting the requested bicycle and mods to fit into my budget
I would and will continue to recommended Revolution Cycle

Great bicycle shop. I have purchased two bikes and most of my parts here. They are a little on the pricey side but they have a great selection and usually provide excellent customer service. I have had a couple bad experiences in the past 7 years.

First and foremost this place is over priced! But I think it's still better than the other major cycle shops in Edmonton, much more nice to it's clients and the repair shop are far more personal.

bought the rims from them ( $1100), had the spokes replace on the rim and bought 3 extra spokes in case. Why would you gave us a different spokes than the one you replace it on the rim. Wrong spokes. Will never shop in this business again. Can't even perform a simple task.

I went to Revolution Cycle at the suggestion of a friend who purchased 2 e-Bikes. She gave them great reviews when I talked to her. Did a bunch of research to learn about e-Bikes as it has been awhile since I rode a bike.

I went to the store prior to my purchase visit. They were extremely helpful and did not pressure. Listened to my needs and made a suggestion.

Ken helped me with my purchase. Again listened to my needs and and the same bike suggestion as the prior visit. Tells me, they know their stuff and receive education.

It was also great to see him ask other team members for suggestions on a tire change. Everyone was very helpful. Thank you.

I'm an employee in another bike shop from Montreal...

I'm an employee in another bike shop from Montreal QC and I needed a part (derailleur hanger) that the provider of my bike as well as all of our shops didn't have. The provider told me about Revolution cycle which had the exact part in stock. This morning I ordered it online and the shipping fees were exceeding the amount of my order which seemed unreasonable. Instead of not saying anything and giving them a bad review like many people do, I called them and they took excellent care of me. They shipped my parts directly after our conversation and refunded me the extra amount charged for shipping. Shops are run by humans who rely on technology and sometimes they makes mistakes just like you do. Let them know they made one and see how they fix it.

Took my bike in for a major tune up as a first time customer and everything was awesome. The staff were super helpful in showing a beginner like me what needed to be replaced and fixed, as well as helped me pick out new parts. At no point did it feel like I was being upsold on anything or forced into something I didn't need. 100% worth my time and money and I'll definitely be back.

Came looking for a bike. After waiting 30 minutes to get in the store instead of allowing me to browse I was "assigned" a sales person. He immediately mentioned to his supervisor that he will take one more person than it was his lunch break. The whole time i felt rushed, it seemed he wanted his break more than to deal with me. I originally came in with a 1500-2000 budget looking for a Scott. He informed me that all the Scotts in that price range were sold out, but he could not tell me when more were coming in. He showed me one Scott that he said was 2300, i said i was interested and i would raise my budget but it turned out to be over 5000 lol. I mentioned on multiple occasions that i would raise my budget for the right bike and that i wanted a well known brand (Scott, Kona, Norco or Specialized). Instead of showing me any of those brands he persistently pushed some brands ive never heard of for under my original budget...bad experience i was totally determined to ride home on a bike until i met this guy. If i was allowed to just browse i probably would have dropped 2500 on a bike that day, but the assigned sales guy ruined it.

I've been into the shop on multiple occasions and always found the staff friendly and knowledgeable. Bought my first tri bike there and was quite happy with the time that they took to fit the bike and make sure that everything ran smoothly. Have since been back for a number of parts/gear for my tri bike and mountain bike.

Went to the store today to purchase a mountain bike for my son, great experience. Store employee Clint was great, didn't try to upsell, was insistent that we should buy the bike that felt best to our son, not the most expensive. We'll be repeat buyers for sure.

Message to anyone who writes a positive review with no constructive criticism or a negative experience, thats what a 5 star review is. Giving them a 4 star effects their rating, this is reserved for problematic experiences. This is an awesome bike shop, all the staff are super knowledgeable and well trained in all aspects of the industry.

Excellent sales and service. I probably wont buy a bike any where else. Got a bike under a year ago and the frame started to fracture. They took one look and started the warranty process. Just a really good shop :)

Spent more time at the fromt desk than actually picking out a bike. Lady running the till spent 20min trying to figure out what to charge me and still ended up being hundreds of dollars out. Amateur operation from what I have seen their. Hopefully the staff I have dealt with are new or other customers should beware of this place.

Always appreciate going in and working with Ben, Syd, Dennis or any of the awesome staff at the shop to find a new bike or a way to fix a problem i'm having with my bikes. These guys have been great to me and many of my friends that have purchased bikes here.

Glad to see they are taking care of their staff with their policies while still providing excellent customer service!

Dropping off my Scott gravel bike off tomorrow for a tune up.

The team at Revolution Cycle always take good care of me and my rides. They've pulled off some miracle last minute repairs and bent over backwards to get me rolling. Because of that, I wouldn't buy a bike anywhere else. Just added this beauty to my collection and I thank the staff for always looking after me.

I have visited many bike shops and Revolution Cycle is by far the best one I have shopped at. Every shopping or service experience I have had there has been outstanding. The salespeople have always approached and greeted me, asked if I needed assistance and then remained committed to helping. Buying a new bike here is an excellent experience. Their selection of bikes and clothing is extensive. Highly recommended.

First time visit, my friend referred me to Rev and I was impressed with the really great service and friendly staff. I very much expected to wait a while as it was very busy and obviously they have covid restrictions in place so things did take a bit longer than usual. But all in all, I left a very happy customer. Will definitely be back!

The owner of revolution cycle is absolute human garbage. Clearly there is not enough space beside my car - and he/she continuously arrives after me and traps me in. I could barely squeeze into my car again. The spot beside me isn t his/her designated spot- they could park anywhere else in the vast parking lot. As a business owner with your logo on your car, it blows my mind how they park their car without any consideration for other people. Please Take this into consideration the next time you think about giving this business more money.

There is so much snow on the ground and the parking lines are not visible. So I was a little more to the edge - you could park your giant gas guzzling truck somewhere else as there wasn t enough space beside my golf. You get over yourself Revolution Cycle.

I wasn't happy with my experience at Klondike Cycle... 1 year later with Revolution Cycle, and they have yet to let me down. I've purchased my girlfriend's rockhopper here earlier in the year as well as some other accessories. The staff have always been great with advice, service and returns. Covid-19 has posed some challenges for quality of service, such as limited in-store shopping, but I know that it comes from an intent to keep everyone safe rather than convenience. No reason to shop elsewhere! A+

The sales people aren't much genuine help. I asked for an entry level bike and within 2minutes was being shown a bike twice my budget in case I wanted to "stretch the budget a little". One positive- Tons of selection.

This happened a while ago but finally I am dedicating some time to inform potential customers for Revolution Cycle.
We were looking for a bike for my wife and shopping around. If you dont have much information about bikes and their Specs and you ask too many questions before you buy, Revolution Cycle is not a place to go. Long story short, we liked a bike and we asked about the return policy and the helping staff told us that there is certain period of time that if you dont like the bike, it can be returned.
We paid the full price of the bike but since it was almost closing time, they asked us to pick up next day so they can get the bike ready. Next day on our way we went to Western Cycle and we didn't only find the staff more informing and helpful but to find a better bike at the same price.
We found out soon that Revolution cycle is trying to deduct a hefty restocking fee instead of a full return for a bike that never left their store. Their manager was very rude and called my wife STUPID and even threatened to call the police on us when we resisted to accept and pay for the restocking fee. When all his tricks to make us angry or scared didn't work he finally processed the full return and told us never to go back to their store. Our family wont go back there for sure.

Wiped out on some ice during my commute and broke my front brake. Revolution Cycle is close to my route so I took my bike in to repair my brake. The staff were extremely friendly, understanding, and fixed my brake free of charge! I'll definitely go back to Revolution Cycle for anything bike related.

Update:
I decided to upgrade to a road bike in October 2019. Since it was end of season most bike shops did not have a road bike in my budget and size. Revolution, however, was the only bike shop that actually wanted to work with me to find a bike within my budget (other shops either said sorry out of stock or tried to sell me on a bike well out of my budget). I actually had two experiences at Revolution. My first experience was with Jeff who let me try out a used road bike which was in great condition was well below my budget. Even though I did not end up buying a bike from Jeff (I decided I did not want buy used), I felt he never tried to up sell me. My second experience was with Jamie. I arrived at Revolution cycle in the evening close to closing, however, Jamie did not rush me and let me try a multiple options from different brands whilst staying as close to my budget as possible. In the end I went a little over my budget, however, I felt the price I paid for my bike was more than fair. I've taken my bike back to Revolution a quick fitting to relieve some soreness I did not experience on other bikes and Jamie was able to adjust the bike to the point where I am now able to ride my bike for hours with no pain.

While shopping for a new road bike, I found that Revolution cycle had the best selection and service out of all the bike shops in Edmonton. I highly recommend them.

I'm not even sure where to start? I've been dealing with these people for 30 years and they've always been great! My last purchase, was a Cube E Bike, which I purchased in 2016. I love it but I've been having trouble with the main computer. I took it in this morning to see if they could fix the problem. They weren't sure what was causing my problem so, asked if I could leave it with them so they could properly diagnose the situation. A couple of hours later, they called to tell me that they'd found the problem and to come and pick it up. I arrived, fully expecting a sizeable charge for the service. Nope. They just changed me for a couple brake pads ($15.00) and sent me on my way. I couldn't believe it!?
Bottom line.....a lot of companies talk the talk.....Revolution Cycle walks the walk. My heartfelt thanks go out to Dennis, Ben, and the rest of their crew! By far, the biggest, and best, bike shop around, backed up by the most competent people in the industry!

I set out to buy 2 bikes today. One for me and one for my wife, went out to another bike store ready to spend up to 2k on all the gear.....i walked around the other store for about 15 mins staring at the bikes ..... nobody asked me if i needed a hand or if i needed help at all... I WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER IN THE STORE!!!!!! So i said screw it ill just leave and go to a different store. And i ended up at Rev. Within about 2 mins of me looking through the bikes i had a nice young lady named Alex come up and ask me if i needed any help, which was great! I knew what i wanted i just wanted to know which one was a good one for the money i wanted to spend she helped me out picking out my bike and my wifes bike, got me the whole set up i appreciate the service. And a shout out to the rest of the staff there who also asked if i was helped or looked after. We took our new bikes for a ride through the river valley it was awesome... thanks again all!
