These guys do amazing work! My family got me a Monster arcade for a special occasion and I could not be happier. They made sure I was in the loop during the design and build process and went the extra mile to make sure my custom decals were perfect. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately you refused to do any troubleshooting and expected a personal service call which I was very clear that we do not provide. (this is an extremely false statement. We both were on the phone together and were troubleshooting the problem. I unplugged and replugged the cord the trackball was on and I recall you asking me to try certain USB slots and explained the difference between the blue and black. We also tested the joystick as I was on Street Fighter II and told you I could not change characters on the load screen or block when I was in game. But since that was a phone conversation with no proof here is an exact e-mail I have on record.

Thanks for the phone call. In terms of the joystick issue when I trouble shooted the issue it seems like the wire connecting the joystick to the pcb board is faulty. When I switch another wire to the left switch it starts working again with the opposite effect on the other switch.I or a friend can be home Wednesday mid-afternoon Halloween Day if you give me a little time frame. I would appreciate it, just so I know an expert like you will get it fixed and working. Anyways, if you think you have a solution I can definitely try via e-mail as well.

I never once expected a service call, I was confirming with Joe if you were coming since you told me that you would confirm but never did. Obviously, this e-mail shows that I troubleshooted I have others at well regarding all of my points)
Your issue with the trackball was due to a problem with the Hard Drive or the port that you had it plugged into after taking it apart to move it.(I took pictures to make sure I plugged the cord into the right USB which I confirmed with you while trouble shooting) I was willing to send you a new HD that day but you knew we were coming out with the new game list shortly so you insisted to wait for that version instead. (a new HD that day? Another lie. If this was true, then why did the company make a big deal that I send my current HD back before sending a new one? You were going to send it out of good will without receiving my old one? Highly unlikely, since you made me send you my old drive first before sending out another one to me and even made you send the tracking number) The option was yours and you chose to wait. (I chose to wait? Another false statement. I have many e-mails that requested that I wanted a quick resolution as I really wanted my machine to be fully functional)
I will always be happy to speak with you about any concerns that you may have as you well know so this is a bit of a surprise 6 months after your purchase. (Like I said, I let all of the wrongdoings against me go as it was Christmas and I knew you guys had many great reviews, but after this last experience which you still have not given me tips to fix I couldn t sit around anymore)
In short you couldn't use your trackball for over a month by choice and we are the horrible people that put you through that (This is an insulting and immature comment. I never did once make this personal and say that you were horrible people, I am simply stating the horrible service I have experienced, I do not appreciate your sarcasm). I stand behind what I said above and you are welcome to contact us at anytime. Even on a Sunday...... (I think it is silly that you insinuated that you are always available for contact even on a Sunday when I have been waiting for a response for this recent incident for over 4 business days.)

Purchased the 4 player pedestal arcade and it is 10x better than what you see online. Craftsmanship is top notch from the cabinetry to the last wire loom screw. They even helped me find graphics to match what I was looking for. Excellent service. Very polite and professional throughout the entire process. Best of all is this arcade is solid gaming with proven to work titles. Buy here and save time looking at those machines promising 20000 games which are hacks and low quality.

Made a special trip out of my way to go see this place. It was pretty much empty save for a few buttons, joysticks and other parts. Not at all what it looks like on their site. Was very disappointed. Maybe I just went at a bad time, but an empty store doesn't exactly inspire me to go back. Was quite disappointed.

I recently purchased a couple custom arcade cabinets and the craftmanship is fantastic! The customer service was awesome and their response times were great, these guys seem really passionate about what they do. I will definitely use them again for future projects. 2 years ago I had Casey and the team build me a 4 player stand up arcade machine and I have been loving it ever since. Recently, I had a small problem with my machine and Casey went above and beyond fixing it in a few days. Dealing with Casey has been awesome - you can really see his passion for what he is doing. If you love arcade machines and are thinking of getting one, I would recommend Retro Active all the way (get the custom built 4 player!)

My apologies with the lengthy review. I had exceeded the character amount so I posted the rest via attached pictures/separate reviews.
First and foremost, I was going to write this review on December 2018, after the deplorable customer service I had experienced with Retro Active Arcade but had decided not to as it was Christmas and I read many other customers experiences with the company and it seemed like I was the only one who had a poor experience; so I stupidly decided to give the company a free pass. I honestly did not want to receive any backlash of giving them a poor review since they were such a highly rated company.
However, after another recent poor experience I decided that this company needed to be accountable for their actions so that many other customers would not share the same fate as me. Before I get into the details, I would like to say that I have records of all of the e-mails that were sent back and forth and double checked them to ensure I had all of the facts.
Experience #1
After paying for my arcade on August 25, 2018 for a total of a little over 4K (including curbside shipping) I received an e-mail that all was good and that it would be shipped to my house when the arcade was built.
Jump to October 4th, I received an e-mail from Joe the customer service manager stating Casey had mentioned to me that you d placed your order for pickup but are now interested in having it shipped to you. Casey then e-mails me it s a great thing that shipping is a flat rate of $225 within Alberta. Sorry, but I don t want to pay shipping twice. Long story short, I had to find proof that I already paid for shipping (since I live in Calgary) so when I sent a picture of my bank transactions of the total price I get an e-mail from Casey that stated Ya we figured that out already thanks, how about a sorry?
He apologized in another e-mail and I said no worries and moved on from there. There was nothing that indicated to me that there would be more trouble and people make mistakes. Not too big of a deal I thought since Casey mentioned they were building over 20 arcades for a company in Calgary so they were quite swamped with work. However, is it right that I should suffer from communication issues because you re busy? I give them a pass.
Experience #2
I receive the arcade on Friday October 12th and I was quite impressed. Everything looked good until I started to play it with my friends that evening to test it out since I had planned to host a huge Halloween party on October 31st and wanted it working. Unfortunately, the player two joystick was not working along with the trackball and other gun games glitching.
E-mailing seemed to work so I fired off a message to Joe and Casey that Friday. Casey called and he was happy to try to troubleshoot the problem (checked USB, reseated the wires, tested with the mutlimeter). I had no experience with arcades so I assured him that I needed more help. He told me that although he did not do service calls he was a nice guy and would pop by on November 3rd to fix it since he would be in town taking care of that huge 20 arcade machine undertaking setting it up for that one company. After the phone call I e-mailed Joe to confirm and he stated that Casey would not be making the service call anymore and that there would be an update for the game list. This would fix all the issues and I quote the new drive will be ready in the next 2-3 weeks for us to send out . Perfect! So that brings us to at most close to Halloween I thought. Continuation of experience 2 and experience 3 is posted on the next review

Bought a custom Brute cabinet. They knocked it out the park. Any questions I had through the process were answered. I couldnt be happier with the cabinet and experience of buying my first arcade machine. If you are looking for a arcade cabinet, give Retro Active a call. You wont regret it.
Amazing experience! I ordered t-molding and was given an estimated ship time of a week or so. Ordered on Monday, processed on Tuesday and received by Friday, despite delivery being expected the following Tuesday.

I ordered a Pandoras Box jamma model and I am so glad I did rather than buy one from random Chinese sellers on eBay selling clone/fake Pandora boxes. I paid slightly more here but well worth the hassle and money for the real high quality product with super fast international shipping from Canada to the US. I ordered a 60 in 1 Icade Jamma board, harness, switching arcade power supply, buttons and joysticks annd refurbished my 1980 Pac man cocktail from Retro Active Arcade and it has become my most reliable arcade machine at home. It is everyone's favourite. The great thing about Retro Active Arcade is that when you purchase parts from them, you are guaranteed that the parts work due to their strict quality control. You don't get that service from Chinese suppliers.

The work Casey puts into his machines are obvious. Quality parts and great craftsmanship. The machine looks and plays amazing. It takes me back to my day s as a kid plugging quarters into my favourite arcade games. My only problem now is which of the 5000 games do I want to play first!!
If you are on the fence whether Retro Active Arcades is where you should purchase your machine let me tell you the money and the wait are worth it.
You get what you pay for and in Casey s machines they are worth every penny.
For those about to purchase be patient with the build process. My machine took about 2 1/2 months. Casey is not slapping these things together to just get a sale. There are products on the market that sure you could pay less for but again look at their quality.
The Raptor is a tank. Myself and my family will get years of enjoyment out of it.

There are very few Canadian based arcade supply shops as is, and thankfully I found out about RetroActiveArcade! I placed my order in the morning, and it's already shipped with a tracking number provided - same business day shipping is always a bonus! What amazing service indeed, and got prompt email notifications throughout the ordering process. I wish them continuing success and hope they continue to carry new parts/accessories for all of us who are into the retro arcade build. Highly recommend them, and would purchase from them again without hesitation.

I had purchased a jamma board from them a couple of years ago and I was happy with their service. When I called them for some technical help they were very helpful and solved my issue in minutes. This is why the rest of my review is even more disappointing.
In June I wanted to buy an arcade machine, and because of my previous dealings with them they were definitely on my short list. I drove 8 hours to go see them and 2 other arcade sellers nearby. When I walked into their office, Casey was at his desk. I told him I was looking to buy and that I drove quite a distance to check out his store. I told him I didn't need a unit that day and was wanting to check out the quality of his machines before I put my order in. If he had a unit available that I liked I was also willing to purchase that day as well.
Casey barely left his computer and was definitely more interested in whatever was on his screen. It really seamed like I was bothering him. His answers were very short and he seemed genuinely disinterested in anything I was asking him. I asked him if I could see inside a machine. He asked why. I said if I am spending a few thousand dollars on a machine, I would like to see what I am buying. He said no and that in all his years in this business I was the only person to ever ask this. I was quite shocked by his reply and I still don't believe it.
I could see that his quality was top notch and I was impressed with the machines he had on display. His arrogance really turned me off. Imagine buying a car and having the salesman be offended that you would dare want to see under the hood. Crazy. Maybe he thought I was a tire kicker or maybe he thought I was trying to steal his trade secrets. Whatever his reason, any good will I had from my previous dealings with him evaporated. I had money in my pocket and I was wanting to give it to him.
I had my daughter with me and as we left the store we both looked at each other and were like "what just happened"? We were both so very confused.
We went down the street to another seller and the salesman there was extremely helpful. We were there about an hour and they showed us inside their machines and gave us a great tour. I purchased a virtual pinball machine from them for over $5000. Casey at Retro Active Arcade had the exact same pinball machine in his showroom for the exact same price. They loaded the machine onto my pickup truck and sent me on my way.
Last month I bought an arcade cabinet and had it shipped to my house.

REPLY: You may find it hard to believe I was wanting to purchase an arcade system if I saw one that I liked but the proof is I drove home the very next day with a virtual pinball worth $6999. A few months later I bought an arcade machine valued at over $3000. Your arrogance cost you over $10,000 and your reply just reaffirms my experience.
If you buy from here, you may very well indeed get a quality machine, but if anything goes wrong, Casey's first instinct seems to be a confrontation, and to become very rude.

I have not received my 4 player pedestal as of yet. It's shipping now, but I wanted to give a review on my experience with the company and I will update this once I get my system.
I wanted a 4 player for my game room and I found Retro Active Arcade. At first I was worried about it being in Canada, however, after reading reviews and not finding better options here in the states, I went ahead and order this. We actually waited a year after contacting Casey before my wife let me order it lol.
Spoke with Casey for most of the early going, than Joe took over once it was almost completed. Both of them were very helpful and Casey was not trying to sell me extra stuff. He explain what each item would bring and if it was worth it on my end. I ended up ordering it, with the LED buttons, fusion buttons, and Mario decal to go with my Super Mario Bros pinball machine.
The only thing that was frustrating was the broker (nothing to do with Retroactive). As I have never order something outside of the states that cost more than $800 bucks, I didn't know I needed one. After calling a few that Casey gave me the number for, I ended up going with border buddy. Others I called ended up either not calling me back, or gave me number to another part of their company. Just felt like a run around. Amanda, at borderbuddy (which are great), worked with me and she made it super easy along with Joe at retro. I would go with them again if I ever need too.
I guess the main thing was that I had to wait till the item was ready to ship before I filled out my information. Amanda was good though and Joe talked with her to get the ball rolling once it was shipping out.
All in all, it was great ordering from Retro and I would tell others too also. Just waiting on my machine to come in and I will finish this review.
Update:
So I have had my game system for about a month, and I must say we are enjoying it a ton. My wife, sister and brothers play all the time. It came in a big crate and it protected it really great. You must get a crate (well you don't have too) if you are shipping to the USA. I just feel it will stay safer that way.
My wife sister and I carried it upstairs. They had one side, I had another. It was hard as hell hahaha. If one of my brothers were here, we could have done it easy, but my wife couldn't wait to play it, so we did it. It is heavy, so make sure you have 2 strong people there, or a determined wife lol.
Games are playing great. We really like the Metal Slug series. Up to number 4 now. There are a lot of games from around the world which is cool. Games I never even heard of, but are fun to play. We really like the 4 player games, so any games that are 4 player we play. Oh my wife loves loves loves super burger time. We wish they made that game longer, but its actually 2 players at the same time!!! Pretty damn cool.
Quality is great. I feel like this will last for years and years. And the way they did the machine, if your joysticks or buttons wear down over the years, it will be easy to replace. So don't be afraid of worrying about what happens after 10 years of playing. You can replace it easily yourself.
Overall I'm keeping the 5 star review on them. This is a great product and well worth it. You must get 4 player though. It's worth the extra money. Way more fun yelling and having a good time with 4 people.

Great options for custom built arcade machines at good prices. I had a service issue following purchasing an arcade but the owner was very helpful and walked me through the solution over the phone. I was impressed.
They have many vid's on Youtube educational / tutorial and are reachable by phone. The guy knows his stuff & has been helpful in my questions when it comes time to buy my gear I am going to acquire it through them. Thank You!

I ve been dealing with these guys for probably past 6-8 months while I ve been slowly building my arcade and they ve been great to deal with. Casey and Rob are easy to get along with. They usually got the parts I need and if they don t they always go out of their way to get them in, even if they are back ordered they still do their best. Always good with answering a couple questions too if a guy is stuck and the you tube videos they post are pretty informative. Hope they do more videos on different topics in the near future, definitely look forward to them.

Just picked up my Retrocade Victory fightstick today from Retroactive Arcade. Top notch product. Casey and Co. Did a flawless job, creating a one of a kind stick for me, with the best quality parts on the market. Casey really went above and beyond to make this a special stick. It's definitely the best stick I've owned. Between Casey's workmanship, and Rob dealing with me, it was a smooth and very positive experience. We are going to build an arcade some time in the future and I reached out to this company to get some information on joysticks. They were quick to respond and very helpful. I am building a custom arcade cabinet and have NO CLUE about how this stuff works/what to buy etc. I found Retroactive through a Google search and emailed to see if they would help me with some parts recommendations.
Casey emailed me in short order and helped me through the weeds and recommended some buttons/sticks and a trackball that would be perfect for my project.
I ordered about $350.00 worth of stuff from him, based on his recommendations and it is really great quality, awesome product.
Casey was more than helpful, I'm sure I was a bit annoying with all my questions and emails.

I've been following Retro Active Arcade online and at various trade shows for years. Casey and his staff were always courteous and informative each time I had any questions. I recently pulled the trigger on a Bartop with stand and my only regret is that I waited so long to finally do so. I will definitely be coming back for a full size cabinet down the road and fully recommend the company to others. If you have hesitations about purchasing a cabinet be sure to check them out at a trade show or pop by their showroom when COVID-19 blows over. They also have a tonne of pictures posted on their instagram, facebook and website of past projects.
We brought in a 1970's pinball machine that wasn't working, their customer communication and the service provided to us was excellent. The machine was repaired in a timely manner and is working great, I would recommend them to anyone.
They provided our oil site with a pedestal machine. It is a really well built unit that gets a lot of use up on site! We had a drive die and they were able to fix it up very quickly.
