Good hotel for short term stay. Location is prime. Reception staffs, are of substandard with little attitude and with almost nil hospitality senses. In case of any issues, you should immediately ask to talk to the manager on duty. I hope then your issue will be addressed. Room service is attentive.
Ambiance is OK. Reception area is not that grand though, but OK.
Restaurant is just after the reception on the same floor. Restaurant has variety BUT repeated variety. You will notice in every meal almost 50% or more things are repeated. So most of the time boring as you can't eat similar food all weeks and 3 times a day. That is why I told, it is good for short term stay.

Pros
- the location
- professional reception team
- very good and punctual room service
- food is very good and change daily.
Cons
- unprofessional housekeeping, but the good thing that when I complained I found immediate response and follow up from the reception.

Very decent hotel. They need to be a bit sharper on hygiene and cleanliness. Sheets had visible stains, gym isn't cleaned. The breakfast is good, the ladies at the reception very helpful. (the Thai lady and the Philippines lady). 5 stars rating for a 4 stars hotel

Located in one of the most prime locations of Doha...

Located in one of the most prime locations of Doha amidst tall amd fancy hotels, Retaj is a great hotel. Comparing with other hotels from my past experience it provides the best value for your money.
Rooms here are more spacious compared to other more expensive hotels. Breakfast menu is decent (not exotic like 5 stars). Has a gym & pool. Worth a stay!

I stayed in this hotel for 6 months during pandemi...

I stayed in this hotel for 6 months during pandemic food is horrible, service was bad as the hotel room. AC drain leaking, bad smell pillows, stained and old bed sheets. The bad thing is they will transfer your room and stuff without your presence and they handle it like garbage at the end I lost a lot of stuff and no single staff from the hotel bother to apologize maybe I don't deserve because they see me from asian country and my accomodation was paid by my company. Never in my wildest dreams gonna come to this hotel again eventhough it's gonna be free.

Room was spacious. We hasd sea view. Cleanliness needs improvement. There was little mould in between the tiles in the bathroom. Tiles were chipped. Some stains in the carpet, wallpaper. Torn at some places. We were 2 adults and 2 children staying in the room. There was only 2 towels. Since checking in was asking for more towels. Kept getting same answer - only two towels allowed per room. After me throwing a fit they provided one more towel. Demanded to speak to Manager, no one came back. I informed reception, on the phone etc. Very disappointed with this.
Next swimming pool was small, again no towels there. No person was there near the pools, had to go to reception and ask for it and again I saw a lot of hesitation in providing towels. After 30mins got some towels. There is something seriously wrong with this.
Breakfast was served in conference room, due to Ramadan. Limited items, but tasted good. We ordered room service which again was good.
I would have rated it 3 or 4 star if not for the problems mentioned.
