Dated room! Fine for a night but don't expect 4 stars, that's not nearly it !. On arrival we asked for a cot .. the best lady behind the reception responded with; still??? Almost did not dare to say yes. Rooms are very noisy and not very clean.

Despite the fact that the hotel name incl the website suggest otherwise the brochures and holiday auctions, the overnight stay takes place in the farm from 1713 and not in the castle unfortunately. Had initially gone there, but this is only a restaurant. Once recovered from this disappointment we were allocated a room by the friendly receptionist in the adjoining part of the farm. The room is dated and old-round for a 4 star hotel. The bathroom is fresh and clean only the shampoo and soap is missing. This is usual for a 4 star hotel. Beds are very creaky but are otherwise ok. In short for a great night although I think the 4 stars are a bit too high for this hotel.
For us a disappointment. Discussed beforehand but could not have dinner as it was full. Due to a lack of staff, the bar was closed, so we had to eat outside the hotel, and we bought a bottle of wine ourselves. In the breakfast room the food was fine, but the cloths / sun blinds were overflowing with dead wasps from a month ago. Our Comfort room did not have a safe, kettle or coffee maker. Unfortunately not a good experience for us!
At the beginning of June 2017 I was accompanied by Fletcher Erenstein. I had booked a large and a small double room. The official occupation of the rooms seems to be 3pm. We were there. Arrived 30 minutes earlier and had the opportunity to test the service. After we had been left unnoticed for almost 10 minutes, the receptionist took care of us. However, our conversation was interrupted by two phone calls, which you did not forward, but made yourself in full. In short, the first impression wasn't the best. Our rooms were on the ground floor. The rooms were a good size. What was immediately noticeable that they had a very musty room atmosphere. This seemed to be due to the fact that there were no windows that could be opened and therefore could not be sufficiently ventilated. The rooms must have been used for other purposes some time ago, so there was only one glass door that opened to the inner courtyard. So it is simply impossible to sleep with the windows open. The bathroom was basically okay. On closer inspection you get the impression that everything has been around for a few years. The breakfast buffet was sufficient for the surcharge, everything you could want is available as standard. In any case, I did not understand why coffee is not served in thermos flasks at each table. You had to leave the table for every cup of coffee. It can definitely be done better. PS: The pictures on the relevant booking portals show the hotel's offshoot, where the hotel's restaurant is located. The actual hotel is about a 2-minute walk away. We didn't use the restaurant because you could only choose from 2 fixed menus, at least where we were guests. Prices start at 30 euros per person.
Well, hard choice... Bed and breakfast were decent (but just skip that watery coffee, please), personnel was professional and quick. The price isn't cheap, but adequate. But.. too many years of deferred maintenance are visibly showing, the holes in the carpet, signs of rain having leaked, leaving ugly spots on wooden surfaces, it generally gives that outworn impression. Fletcher being this big collection of very diverse hotels (100?), it's understandable that economies of scale aren't easy to find in order to enhance the guests' experience. So these 3 stars are on their way to only 2.
Well located hotel at the entrance to the city of Kerkrade. Great buffet breakfast. Our room was spacious and clean but should be seriously refreshed, (paint !!!)
beautiful location and a kitchen / service that knows exactly what they are doing. good wines and advice on this, delicious local dishes and plenty of time to sit quietly.
Everything neat. Great and easy to reach location. Rooms were cleaned when we were away and polite staff. Breakfast was also good and broad. Only thing was that it looked a bit old.
Drinking after a walk, prices were not too bad for this location, in a very nice environment , it is also a nice hotel but I cannot talk about that yet, I have not slept there yet.
Pretty ok hotel. As you can read in several reviews, you do not sleep in the castle but in an old-style annex. Room I had was very spacious with an upstairs section! It is therefore a bit older, but that is part of it. I am personally in favor of the newer hotels and accommodations. Location is very nice and good base to explore the area.
Not recommended. Been to Kerkrade. Breakfast was awful. Many guests, including us, have thrown the sandwiches and cross paints straight into the bucket. The sandwiches and everything that was at the buffet was warmed up on Saturday and already 2x. Hard as hell. No more fletcher for us. We were in this hotel from Sunday to Monday. Back to the hotel with the big Macaw on the roof.
Atmospheric and rustic hotel next to Erestein castle, don't expect you to sleep in the castle when you book it. Rooms a little corny but warmly decorated, smell a little stale. Bathroom is modern and spacious!
The service was good and staff friendly, and the rooms were well cared for. Also eaten well in the restaurant where also was taken into account the fact that I have had a stomach reduction.
Although this Fletcher also has old-fashioned accents, it did fit the location, the location was just nice. Nice new bathroom and great breakfast. Downside is that from the end of the afternoon only 1 employee was present for the entire accommodation, so both reception and terrace service etc.
Beautifully situated hotel, at the front in a beautiful old farmhouse from 1713. Part of it was built later and somewhat dated in appearance. Near the beautiful castle. The room is dated. Old furniture, bed and finish. A shame as the property itself is historic and could use some love. Bathroom was more modern than the room design and clean. Breakfast an adequate. Fine for once but have had better. Staff are friendly enough, work hard. All in all not a 4 but 3 star hotel in my opinion. Price-quality ratio is moderate for that reason.
Was not really clean. Got an unsolicited update to a beautiful room. Restaurant is 300 meters further asn across the road. Good service but food not special.
This was the 2nd x that would eat at the restaurant. But we didn't get far. It is not well indicated where we should be. And it is also possible for disabled people. We just went home.
They are very good at sketching a totally different picture on the site than reality is. If you think you will be sleeping romantically in a castle with your partner ... forget it. You end up in a hotel that really does not deserve the 4 stars. What is described as a luxury hotel room is reality a standard room where there is no luxury whatsoever. The entire hotel exudes an atmosphere of simple. cheap and everything 'just not' and the beds are nothing short of bad. What bothers me the most and has ensured that I post my review on the internet is complaint handling. You are asked 'do you have any complaints please tell us, are you satisfied please tell others'. I have expressed my complaints and during our stay no further response was received. Upon checking out asked for a survey form (was not in the room contrary to what was stated in the folder), again my complaints and disappointment made known. And ....... a week later no response. Erenstein (please leave the word castle for it) for me never again !!
We have waited over 40 minutes for our drinks. Order has been taken up incorrectly. Coffee is bitter and capucino especially a lot of milk. Fortunately there is understanding and the process is over. Due to the high smooth spiral staircase, visiting the toilet is not possible for our group that has difficulty walking.
Excellent hotel with excellent kitchen and friendly staff. What is also important: a good and smoothly functioning technical service: the minor inconveniences were quickly remedied.
Beautiful location for a hotel In the middle of Limburg in a wooded area. Very nice to sleep in an old farm, light next to castle. Nice rooms that are clean and with a bath Definitely recommended to spend more days here! You eat in the castle
The Fletcher Hotel is surrounded by beautiful greenery. The nearby zoo is one of the best in Europe. The nearby castle is the restaurant that belongs to the hotel. Friendly staff at the hotel. The service in the restaurant is on the slow side. The budget room is small but satisfying.
We booked one night through Vakantieveiling, the room was really not nice, the curtains dirty and the bed ... in general, the cleanliness was not taken seriously. 4-star hotel never! The provider advertises the castle, as a hotel you ultimately sleep in an outbuilding, which is very old and in need of renovation. The staff is decent. Breakfast was normal, nothing special and too expensive for the price. No experience and worth money.
Badly maintained, a little paint works wonders and dirt! Breakfast poorly stocked and all 10 minutes for 1 coffee machine! Location fine! Dinner in castle, nice experience, waiters inexperienced. Dishes tasty, but you shouldn't be hungry!
Nice staff, pretty surrounding. The room was very, very noisy (disco nearby, other guests next and above us). On the plus side: the dog was welcome, they even had some biscuits for her.
Had super nice days. Hotel is beautiful, rooms are nice, bit dated, no air conditioning due to monument conservation. Dinner is at the castle, a little further. Delicious eaten, class. Worth repeating.
The hotel where you actually stay and breakfast is Hotel Brughof, not Castle Erenstein. Dinner is only served in the castle. If you have reserved there. Unfortunately, this is where the wrongly published expectation begins. Brughof is originally a farm from 1713 and since 1983 a hotel, which now falls under Fletcher. An old building with a ditto look and sober but sufficiently furnished rooms. Our room already lacked coffee maker, minibar and safe. Dinner at the castle arrangement was a drama. Location and entourage are very beautiful. The wait staff did not fit in this evening. The three waitresses for a total of 24 guests looked stressed. That started upon entry. We were 5 five minutes early but were sent out with a sharp tone. Consequence of the shifts due to the corona measures. But more followed. The main course supplements indicated on the menu were not served ("No, this is the main course, there is nothing included"). No new clean glass was placed when re-ordering special beer. When the wait staff was kindly alerted, an annoying discussion followed with the clearly stressed waitress ("You have a glass, right?" Was the most foul and snide comment that evening). The question to a waitress about whether she really enjoys the work was answered coolly and negatively. Body language betrayed the opposite. She was just not crying. When asked if I could speak to the chief, there was a negative response: "No, there isn't one" (although it turned out to be there later). Furthermore, the wait staff was invisible during dinner. People walked from kitchen to table and back with a grumpy face. Immediately after dinner at the hotel at the reception suggested a improvement. It was picked up very professionally and handled satisfactorily. Hearing and rebuttal eventually led to apologies and a reduction of the bill. No, I do not recommend this Fletcher.
