Renaissance Melaka Hotel Review

One of my favourite hotel in Melaka. Room is spacious and clean. Service is good. Food served tastes good. A good place to stay with family and friends.

Great location. Great comfort. Great food. Great hospitality.

Horrible! Don t stay here! From first day I checked in the staff were very lousy. I called the reception to ask about the steam room, my call was passed to the SPA and the personnel at the SPA said I m not supposed to call her as the steam room was not under the SPA. She asked me to call the reception again and I ended going down to L9 myself to personally ask for details.

On our 2nd day, we have to call and asked our room to be cleaned as it was already 2pm.

3rd day, in the morning I told the personnel who was at the counter of their Fitness Centre that id like to use female steam room after I m done with the gym, he said he will switch it on for it to be ready. When I m done with the gym I went to the counter no one was at the counter and the steam room was locked. Waited for 15 mins and rang the bells few times but no one came to assist.

Very bad service!

Excellent location n facilities. Rooms are spacious n worth the money.

Good hotel. Slightly over priced. Poor staff at reception. Extremely slow. Overall a good hotel.

Room was very nice and very large. But breakfast was the most horrible ever. The juice was not an option, the orange juice was too artificial. The arrangement of buffet was messy and they sheldom clean the empty table. The taste of the food was low quality. The porridge was okay and actually that is the only food I can eat. You can do better.

Excellent Hotel, Very nice room, cheerful and helpful staff, fantastic breakfasts with a live station. Not far from center and reasonable price.

We had a most wonderful experience staying here. It's staff r ever friendly. Food at Chinese restaurant is superb

It's an old but mostly respectable hotel. Been here a few times for events at the grand ballroom. Food is decent, if generic. If you park there for events they charge a flat rate of RM5 for the whole night.

Water pressure in the room on level 13 was so powerful and loud when the toilet bowl was flushed. Rain shower was very nice. USB port in the room didn't work, couldn't charge my phone. Food wise, okay. Staff were pleasant. Enjoyable stay.

Had our annual seasons holiday luncheon at the only place in town where it all started. A place to see and to be seen still after 3 decades.

The bathroom was soaking wet and they refused to do any repairs and only offer us more towels mop up the mess. This is not acceptable for a 5 star hotel.

Very nice and spacious ballroom For a very old hotel, it is still maintained very well.

Good facilities, central location and polite customer service

Hotel is starting to show its age! We stayed two nights as part of a wedding group package and all in our group complained about the housekeeping service. Very sloppy and late. Not all bathroom items were replaced. Requests for additional towels, etc took inordinately long time. Redeeming feature is its location.

Attended a relative wedding dinner at the grand banquet hall. Very table impressive setup for attending guests and elegantly and distinguish table for VIP table. Well equipped functional room with the latest tech equipment. In particular the projector can display the new couple's love story and wedding gowns photo shots from floor- ceiling size. First dish for the wedding dinner was served in impressive style and grandiose.

Loved the feel to this hotel. Greeted by water fountain at the lobby. Breakfast was good. A variety of food available. Hotel room are spacious. Always booked this hotel for my Holiday in Malacca

I dont know anything about rating but everyone is rating this place with four stars, but let me ask you something, does a four star standard hotel bathroom is soundproof? Coz you can hear someone flushing their toilet next door. Everything else is just superb. Especially their view.

TV looks big but actually is not, but the channels makes you want to stay glued to it.

Room and bathroom are clean and spacious. Love the rain shower. However, the drainage system for the sink and shower area seems a bit clogged. Good spread of breakfast and lunch buffet. There's also free wifi.

At peak checkout hours on a weekend. you only have two tellers managing the counters. One of them managing check in.. 30 minutes to check out and still waiting in queue. Not what I expect for the rate I'm paying. last time I'll be here and removing it from my company corporate choice.

It was an amazing hotel with River view and sea view. The breakfast buffet was awesome and the amenities are excellent.

Clean well maintain hotel. Buffet with many choise. Nice interior and ball room. Even king also stay here when visit Malacca.

Old hotel, renovated not too long ago. Rooms are spacious and location is pretty central. Experience was generally pretty good up until the last day when the front office staff said I needed to top up my payment because the staff who checked me in handed me breakfast vouchers with my room keys, which I assumed were complimentary (My original booking had no breakfast included). Ugh.

Walking distance to Jonker St & Malacca Historical Site

Room is perfect. Service is perfect. And breakfast is amazing. Too bad wife woke up late and I need to rush off to work. Would love to really sit & enjoy the breakfast spread.

One of those classy 5 stars hotels. The bed is comfy and they have their own collection of movie channel. Meals are nice.

coming for department lunch..so called buffet but not enough food

Just called in a few minutes ago to check on room rates for the 25th till the 27th of May 2018. Please listen to your call recording as the call handling was extremely bad. Receptionist asked if I m a Sikh!? Are you selling your room based on religion?? Then I was transferred to the Reservation Department. Her voice tone was as if I m asking for a complimentary room! WTH!! No matter how good is your hotel but if your customer service is bad, you can keep your stars in your pockets dear management. Your staffs are the 1st and last impression of your hotel. Being in customer service line, my advice is please train your staff and educate them on customer service. Anyways, I didn t bother asking their names because it doesn t matters to me. Your staff reflects you. Thank you.

Was there for a wedding reception. Nice ambience with friendly staff and the food was really good!

great 5 star room. Quite possible the best western breakfast ive had in Asia

Hotel location is not too far from Jonker Street. It is also very near to bunga raya popiah stall which is quite famous food in Melaka. The room price was quite expensive during my stay. Maybe because i stay during long weekend. The biggest minus point is there is no shuttle bus to popular area such as Jonker Street. The other minus points that i found during my stay are sink water is too small, shower water is too small, remote tv seems out of battery on my last day, the tv channel are limited to 13 channels, and the internet is not fast. The positive points that i found during my stay : they provide a book to read, the scenery not bad specially on the high floor, the rooms are clean and comfortable.

This is my second visit to this hotel. Good and well maintained hotel. Staff are very nice and friendly.

Just more than comfort. Friendly & smiley services at all times. We are are coming again. See you soon.

Not much to see for us around here but could be okay if you very old place.
We had a view of a old theater that had fallen on hard times.
Just walls and no roof.

Attended a wedding dinner, parking still have to pay. Food was good however

Facility above average but hospitality 5star. Time 12:22 am nothing to eat. Surprisingly a hotel staff offer me two pieces birth day cake from one of them. So warm...a gentleman ! Mr. Shukor rsvc captain

Had a seafood buffet there on Friday night. Nice ambient but the food quality is decent, not fantastic yet.

It is clean and a name. It was all we really wanted. Yes, as others have written, the hotel is well past its prime but it is clean and well maintained. The hotel is far away from the more tourist areas but it is part of the charm. Just far enough away. The breakfast buffet is nice and clean.
