The old school hotel. Well.. it's under Wyndham. Check in still very traditional. With check out counters that does not bother about check ins.
Check in time at 3pm?? Cmon!.

4 staff looked busy. Need to really revamp.
Never my choice.

Could had been the best hotel in the 80s. The rest remained the same e.g. staff attire, decor, chandelier.
Staff does not looked happy.
Ok. 1 star added for bellhop service.
Added 2 star for the renovated clean room.

I remembered staying in this hotel way back in 1990 as a child. It was known as Ramada Renaissance. Since then I have often wanted to stay in this hotel whenever I visited Melaka in order to recollect my childhood memories. However, in all my visits, I ended up staying elsewhere as there are just too many newer hotels. Nevertheless, this recent trip brought me back to Ramada, now known as Ramada Plaza, managed by the Wyndham group. I must say that this hotel has managed to retain its old charm and has been tastefully refurbished. Service was excellent. We enjoyed the ambience at club lounge very much which also offered a panoramic view of the historic city which I am now sharing in this post, taken from the lounge located on the 24th floor. Ramada is still a perfect place to spend the night. Located at the heart of the city, Jonker Walk and all the historic places of interest are just 1.2 km away. Kampung Morten and The Shore shopping mall are only 500 m walking distance away. Besides, there are plenty of restaurants within 300 m around the hotel. Little India and the famous Tan Kim Hock confectionary are just 100 m away.

5 star hotel. Had our room relocated twice because it had no interconnecting room, room had cigarette smoke (and we didnt smoke). We were compensated with free breakfast for 1 additional person during our stay. Service can be improved. It took them 1hr to open up our interconnecting door.

Nice clean hotel and a lot of new establishment coming up near the hotel. Breakfast spread is quite interesting . Staff there are very helpful and understanding.. u can watch live soccer games there in the lobby bar which is a plus point for many travellers . A lot of local eateries can be found near by ..

The hotel is located conveniently, approximately 15-min walk away from Jonker Walk. There are plenty food choices just round the corner, and a 7-Eleven located a stone throw away. Room is spacious and well maintained. Toilet comes equipped with basic toiletries, except shavers and comb. Highly recommended if you are planning to make a trip to Malacca. However it may be quite costly. It is definitely worth it though.

Nice place to live in. A bit pricey but the service makes up for it . Nice place to have reunion dinners or any kind of dinner. Also nice for events like concerts or wedding as the halls are beautiful. Overall nice atmosphere going in there.

No smiles from receptionist or anyone on the hotel. As a guest in a 5 star hotel I was expecting as least some smiles. No information on breakfast given till we asked. Room spacious, bed comfy. Bathroom small. Technician called to fix noisy air con came quick but reluctant to try fix problem and lie all rooms are the same. Very disappointed in such service. Will think twice whether to stay here again if I visit melaka. If you are looking for a happy vibe and pampering during your vacation then i dont think this is the hotel for u.
