I've been sitting in the lobby for 2.5 hour wait for my room to be cleaned (2:00 to 4:20pm) and I still don't have a room. The front desk just tries to give me bottles of water. This is a normal time to check in but they can't expedite the cleaning. Not happy.

Nice clean room with fantastic bathroom. I could be wrong but when I hear suite I think microwave, sink, things like that. Very nice room though. We are here with the family visiting in law's and there hasn't been another family in sight. More of a business professionals joint.

Beautiful hotel, nice rooms and amenities. Only complaint is the TV is small and options limited. A lot of other Marriott hotels allow access to Netflix, Hulu, etc on the TV. We had a long day and wanted to lay in bed and relax before bed. Would've been nice to watch something on Netflix

We purchased a package deal, and they didn't even seem aware of the fact that they had those deals. No real amenities included. Booked a room with a tub, there was no tub. Just a full shower. However, the shuttle driver was incredibly kind and a pleasure to receive a ride from.

The room was more comfortable than I expected and the staff were friendly. Free apples when you check in. Starbucks and restaurant in the lobby. No free WiFi unless you booked directly and are a member. The airport shuttle runs all the time. I'd stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our room on the 14 th floor facing downtown Chicago. The Cumberland station of the blue line is basically across the parking area from the hotel entrance. Since there is free ORD shuttle service you can skip a car rental. Rooms are modern, spacious and bright. Although there isn't much within walking distance, we did find a footpath on the freeway side over to a Cafeteria, Michael's , about 10 minutes away. Low cost comfort food is there.. the Hotel watched our tagged bags for us on the last day and we returned that afternoon to fetch them and catch a free shuttle to ORD.. my wife put this place in her favorites list.
Breakfast inside the hotel for two will cost 40 to 50 USD, but was tasty at least..

Bad customer service. We missed the airport shuttle because it left earlier than the time the front desk told us. Even though the front desk knew we were on our way, they allowed the shuttle to drive away early, then was rude to me when I asked why it left early. I expect better from a supposed 4-star hotel.

We were charged for a water that we never opened. Not a huge deal, as it was only $4, but it's irritating and disappointing to know they ripped us off. We never touched any of the products they had in the room. One of the front desk staff (I don't remember his name) was fantastic, but the rest were miserable.

This location is your standard business/commuter lodging with a very contemporary feeling. From the initial greeting through to check-out, the experience was pleasant.

After check-in, we stopped at the hotel bar, where there was a VERY chatty bartender. (frankly, over-the-top and a bit much with the chatter). Ordered lunch as the restaurant was closed. (it was around 3pm at the time). The Tortilla soup was incredible and beyond delicious! I could have eaten nothing but this soup during the entire stay and I would have been gastronomically pleased! The local craft IPA beer names are a hoot!

The room was spacious and quiet. I've included pictures of the suite to this review. Most importantly, the four elevators were always available and fast with exceptionally insignificant wait times! (Trust me, I've stayed at places where the elevators were tortuously slow.)

The on-site Starbucks generally always had a wait, especially during the morning rush hours. Management should consider a far better deployment of personnel to match demand.

The O'hare shuttle (free) leaves for the airport every 30 minutes.

Overall, I'd rate this more of a 4/5 star accommodation and would recommend a return visit!

It's a nice hotel and clean but if they can find a way to get money out of you, they will. Parking is $35 PER night, WiFi is $12.50, and the food at the restaurant there was entirely to my liking but that's my opinion, everyone has different tastes. Money would be better spent at a slightly cheaper hotel unless you have a lot of money in the first place then by all means it's an OK hotel. Small TVs no bath tubs and the beds were a little on the hard side. But they stamp the toilet paper with a big R like an imprint, for some reason I thought that was neat.

Great airport hotel/unfriendly service: My first impression of the hotel was tainted because of a slightly rude front desk staff person who suddenly became allergic upon reading that I have a service dog. (My service dog is one of the hypoallergenic breeds and was seated away from the front desk with my husband, in her carrier, at the time.) The manager had to come and help because this person started to fall apart and couldn't even run my card correctly. I, too, suffer from a myriad of allergies and I didn't believe this girl. Luckily the manager was nice, the room was great, spacious and comfortable. Pros: Aveda products, comfy couch + bed. Cons: No bathtub, small TVs not plugged in. Restaurants were AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS. Room service was fast. No luggage cart to be found when we needed it the night before check out, but was there upon check out. Shuttle to airport was great, driver was a bit unfriendly... Until we tipped him well. Hotel is pretty turnkey for business stay, but staff could stand to be more welcoming and friendly. Had to call back to get my bill e-mailed to me, and that person was SUPER RUDE. Put me on hold for 10 minutes and when I finally called back he said it was because he "became busy with other things." Then he claimed that I had to wait for the audit to come out 48 hours after check out... But was able to e-mail it to me in the end when I asked for the night manager. Terrible customer service from everyone we encountered except for the second person who helped me at the front desk and the room service person.

The service is great. Shuttle available to go to the airport. Rooms are clean and buildibg looks well maintained. The only bad thing about it is the lack of restaurants/drugstore/stores close by.

We were told the wrong room so we were sent to the wrong floor almost making us late, the chairs were really uncomfortable for a conference room and they were not great at replenishing the water supply.

I am giving it a 4 because the staff are so friendly and they take the time to greet you and spark a conversation. The room was very dated and needs updating so that insecurity isn t getting a 5. The executive lounge doesn t operate on the weekend and we couldn t get in to get bottles of water.

Nice front desk people, validated parking, excellent housekeeping services, comfy suite, and a conveniently located Starbucks downstairs. Wish I'd known about the sauna before we got here, though!

Nice stay. Comfy bed. This is a large hotel Close to O Hare. The hotel is Quiet, has a restaurant and bar, conference center, free WiFi in the lobby, there is a Starbucks on the first floor. There are computers if you need them on the first floor. This is close to the train line. There is a free shuttle to the airport. You can print boarding passes beside the front desk. The staff was polite. It is about a 10 to 20 minute walk to a small grocery store and a couple of restaurants.

Although the hotel is very nice and comfortable, I was very disappointed in my room that the TV was not working at all, the shower floor was filthy and I had a hard time connecting to the wifi because John at the front desk didn't add my name to my room until I made the call for him to do it!

After having a horrible day traveling and being stuck in airport all day, I was probably in one of the worst moods of my life. Milena, the bartender, was a shining star! She gave me recommendations around the area, was very personable and fast. The rooms were very nice and quiet, I appreciated the night shade. The front desk and airport shuttle was helpful as well. I would stay again!

This hotel is a RIP off. First of all they did not provide me with the room I requested. My complete stayed was one night. The girl at the desk claim she could not print my receipt. After insisting another girl printed it but failed to provide the total charge. I ask for again for the full amount that was charge for room and parking. She gave me a receipt for $169.11. When I Iook at the charges on my bank statement I was charge $306.40 plus $22.05 I had no clue what these charges were. When I called back to speak with a manager was told none was available. Was also told in my portfolio she could only see the charge for $169.11 I will be filing a police rept for theft and misuse of a credit card.

Don't come if you expect any kind of service. No help with bags. Had to call multiple times for them to make up a bed and still no one came. I've stayed in hotels all over the world and the service here is pitiful.

Good hotel by the airport with airport shuttle. Check-in staff was helpful and efficient. The hotel bar was nice for a drink and there were so many restaurants that delivered nearby we just ordered food in. The pool was super crowded when we went, so we took a pass, but the facilities looked nice.

They just opened a new restaurant which has a good selection of fresh options. The rooms are also nice and appear to have been recently redone. Easy access to the airport and blue line which runs downtown.

Our first stay in a Renaissance and boy were we happy with our stay. We got the top floor room with a decent view. As promised the hotel decor is locally inspired. The breakfast at $21 is definitely worth the price with a live counter that serves eggs, pancakes, French toast. Would have preferred if there was actual Maple syrup instead of just syrup. Having a Starbucks inside the hotel is also a plus. The lounge on the top floor is pretty cool place to hang with some nice hors d'oeuvre followed by some dessert. The cookie was delicious! Overall pretty happy with my stay and would always look out for a Renaissance in the future.

Convenient airport location, large modern rooms but they are still using old analog thermostats so forget about setting a specific temperature you like on a digital thermostat. You have to decide what colder and warmer means and get up to adjust it when you don't guess right. Sort of nonsensical for a high end hotel. The airport shuttle was adequate but as we waited in the van they didn't turn the air conditioner on, in August, likely because the gas tank's empty light was already on. I didn't enjoy sweating to start my day of flying.

I was so disappointed in my stay with my family at the Renaissance Chicago. First off, upon arrival around 10:30 pm, there was an enormously long line of people waiting to be checked in and at one point only one staff member checking people in. When you arrive in a city very late, the last thing you want is to wait to check in and then have the check in process be sub-par itself. Once getting to one of the rooms, it was absolutely freezing inside with the thermostat reading 56 degrees!!! We then found a window wide open as well! We quickly turned up the heat. The room was also missing a trash can. Seems like a small inconvenience but becomes a large one when you don t have anywhere to put food wrappers or dirty tissues. In the morning there was a breakfast buffet priced at 21 dollars a person for the same buffet you could get at a holiday inn. Overpriced and not worth it. It is a beautiful hotel but I was not impressed with how things were run and the up-charge for a mediocre breakfast!
