REI flagship store is a transcendent experience for anyone who likes buying things in the pursuit of getting closer to nature.

cool shop! there is everything you can think about, a beautiful interior, an excellent area around the store, an excellent choice of sunglasses, for those who want to save, there are shelves with discounts!

Pandemic times review: This store is open for online orders and curbside pickup. When your order is ready you'll get an email to pick up your things. When you get to the store you'll need to check-in by clicking the link in the order pickup email and fill out your vehicle details and sometime during this you'll be directed to a numbered spot and a store associate will bring out your things for you. The handoff is contactless. You can have them put your order in the trunk or they'll leave it on the suitable place for you to pick up.

The most beautiful outdoor store you can ever hope for and the customer service staff has remarkably improved over the years. They host siminars for the general public to learn more about fun activities. If you're a member and paying cash remember to let the cashier know or kiss those dividends goodbye.

The staff is always incredibly helpful. The selection at their flagship store is amazing. The only downside is the amount of money I spend with each visit. If they could somehow figure out a way to do all of the above while making everything free that would be amazing!!

Avoid this place at all costs! Once you enter the store, after walking through the little hiking trail next to the mountain bike test course, its going to cost you A LOT of money to get out. This is the flagship REI store and has about 5x the inventory and product selection as any other REI I have been to. I cant seem to escape this place without discovering at least one new thing that I cant live without. Youve been warned!

Curbside pickup was a breeze. Wait time was about 15 minutes total in early afternoon. Wait time could vary depending on time of day.

This is the Mecca of REI stores. Big cozy fireplace, bike test track, patch lovely forest, great gear options.

Everyone was very helpful and patient! I rented snow shoes and they were a big on easing my concerns for the whole thing. Very knowledgeable.

The outdoor bike trail and waterfalls make the store a minor destination.

Awesome place and one of the best REI's in the entire country. There's 3 floors, and LOADS of good stuff for hiking, camping, backpacking, and all sorts of outdoor stores. This is my go-to place for everything outdoors. Their return policy is great too (bring just about anything back within one year for a refund if you don't like it) so while their prices may be higher than elsewhere, it's worth it for the selection, the quality of customer service and answers the staff can provide, and so on.

Always love going to this place. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and treat you attentively. It's a lively place filled with people who like the outdoors.

Open during Covid-19! But fitting rooms are closed so ladies wear leggings and a tank top, they have mirrors and racks so you can try on over your clothes. Bathrooms are open. Stairwells go one up and the other one is down. Super low-key mid week. Good luck!

Very knowledgeable, helpful staff, great place for outdoor stuff

My boyfriend and I both want to say how impressed we are with Tse top, one of your associates working in the shoe department at the Seattle flagship store. He helped my boyfriend Jordan find the perfect pair of hiking boots. A little over a year ago, I bought some hiking shoes from REI but the sales associate didn't measure my foot and, being new to hiking, I didn't realize how the boots should feel when they fit correctly. For a year I struggled with my 8.5 shoes and didn't really enjoy long hikes. I came to realize the culprit was my shoes. After hearing my boyfriend praise Tse top's expertise we sought him out and Tse top assessed my shoe needs and found the most perfect pair of boots for me, in size 9. I love the shoes so much I wear them any chance I get. He really takes the time to understand your needs and is obviously an expert in his field. Thank you so much for having him on your team, hiking is now fun for me again!

Customer service at REI Seattle, on the floor, and at the customer service desk, was phenomenal.

A Seattelite's must have membership. Great place for outdoor and recreational gear, clothing and other things. Lot's of classes around the year and friendly, helpful staff.
Big selection on items and a great entrance to the store itself. Visit it just for that.

REI is a fun place to go but I look at it more like a mall where the people watching is good. If I need to buy something I likely wouldn't go to the REI stor ebut instead would look online where the selection is better and you don't have to wait inline for 15 minutes. I'd love to see REI move to an Apple store model where you could check out with any associate rather than being wrangled like cattle in a line at the front of the store.

The giant flagship store! If you need outdoor gear, it's here. The service is usually good, but sometimes a wee bit snotty, though it's getting better. And sadly the prices are high. But the selection can't be beaten.

I really like this outdoor store. . . . There are a lot of things inside, like outdoor sports, it s cool to go shopping, the parking fee is not expensive, it s only two hours in three hours, and it s free in one hour... The place where the shoes are tested also simulates the mountain road conditions. . . The big outdoor clothing is basically the price of Taobao, but the thing is really, the tax of 9.6 is a bit high. . .

Wow, this place is like a playground for adults and kids. Amazing selection, great staff, and fun surprises.

High end outdoor gear. Great selection of items for rock climbing, camping, backpacking, bikes (including an outdoor, on site test track to try them out), books about the natural world for adults and kids, maps, and lots more. If you want to do something outdoors REI has the gear. Unfortunately, REI is rather expensive for my budget but I did buy some carabiners for my keys that were reasonable.

Flagship REI that has it all...and then some, to include a climbing wall. Friendly staff that's willing to help ya find what your looking for. To long of a visit can get expensive quick! But they sure do have everything outdoor related.

REI is a really great place. The entire staff is super knowledgeable and their 100% satisfaction guarantee is great. Even if I find something cheaper elsewhere I'll still buy from REI because of the guarantee. I'm never worried about buying a bad product.

Staff is friendly and with the covid19 situation, they take distancing and sanitation very seriously. They clean after each customer meticulously and have hand sanitizers stationed throughout the store.

This was my first time going to this store. The store itself was very cool and the entrance was pretty much in it's own little garden in the middle of Seattle. Very beautiful, there was a waterfall too. The reason I'm giving such a bad rating is because the girl that helped me at the customer service desk was so incredibly rude. I was in to pick something up for my dad who had just gotten out of surgery and they only hold items for one day. I went to the counter and the entire interaction with her was really unpleasant. She completely ignored me except for asking the questions she had to. I tried to just have a nice conversation with her while someone grabbed my item but she just had a dirty look on her face and avoided looking at me while fiddling with her fingers. Who just ignores someone like that? She just acted like I was some crazy rude customer. Maybe she was having a bad day, I understand that. But she was more than just "having a bad day rude" to me. I wish the other person at the customer service desk helped me because they actually seemed nice. Not the best first experience there.

Wide selection of great gear and a knowledgeable, friendly staff. Definitely become a member; the rebate pays for itself quickly. Only quibble is that they also sell lots of frivolous/fashion stuff, so you need to do your research.

Not like your common REIs. This one has a mountain bike testing trail and a waterfall. Impressive store setup with everything you need for your outdoor adventures.

Awesome customer service! I've only been in 3 times and met the same staff member each time, who recommended great restaurants in my area and knew me on sight. Worth a visit, but definitely worth joining the coop too!

Went in for an exchange yesterday. Line was literally out the door as they designated a specific lines which was exclusively for returns. While 5 employees walked around playing police with people about wearing masks properly and spacing 6 feet, I waited for an hour and a half to exchange one defective item, as only one employee was actually working. Dumpster fire experience, never going back.

REI is the best outdoor fitter in the area. They always have great service and great products. I love to just browse through the store.

This location is amazing. are I truly spared no expense when creating the space for this store. The natural park land, lush waterfall, test bike paths, and Rick climbing wall all make for a top notch experience. Couple that with the typically knowledgeable staff, immense selection, and you have no where else to go for all you outdoor needs.

Well staffed. You can get help quickly and they keep the lines moving at the flagship location!

Sunday of Labor day weekend, about a 15 minute line outside and a 10 minute line at the shoes. They do not allow masks with valves, bandanas or neck garters. They have disposable masks out side the door. Fewer customers and less stuff means roomier comfortable spaces. There's plenty of staff to answer questions but all are hands off.

Generally consistent quality. I have been a member for a long time.

The palace of gear - great stuff and expertise to help you select it. The full range of price starting from where the big box stores leave off.

Prices Way too expensive ,even their ad prices its nothing worth mentioning . Worst part is going there via car (NON uber) . the traffic is always a nightmare! The location is ok it's in a very populated area however the Mercer mess is a big enough reason not to go there imo .

A big store with a lot of choices for gear, but it's quite obvious that it is becoming more and more orientated towards the local SLU tech-workers market. For example, the biking section is very limited to mainly "commuter style" bikes, the clothing and footwear sections are very directed towards day/weekend hikers (a disproportionate number of day hiking boots/day hiking packs compared to full camping gear), and any seasonal equipment such as ski gear is completely non existent from early spring (which seems odd considering such a large number of Seattle locals are still skiing/ski-touring at this time of year).

The service is decent, and there are still a number of enthusiastic employees who have decent knowledge of outdoor equipment. However, I still kind of expected more from a flagship store of such a large outdoor equipment supplier.

The flagship REI does not disappoint. Three floors, with extensive sport section, rentals downstairs, and plenty of clothing and shoes. There's also a climbing structure for the kids, a rock climbing tower, and a waterfall out front.

If you're not familiar with REI, it's an all-around outdoor goods store. Pay $20 for a membership and get money back on every purchase in the form of a yearly dividend. Also check out the garage sales in addition to the outdoor events and classes.

The bottom floor can be accessed by elevator or by the stairs in the bicycle section.

This REI is so impressive. The inventory is very extensive and the architecture of the building is very impressive. There is also a great selection of used items for sale for members only-- always a great deal!

Went in during the corona times and the staff were friendly and patient. They seem to be out of gas canisters lately, though, so if you need 'em, call first.

Mecca for adventurers, could spend days here. So much gear I didn't know existed.

This place was the Mecca of Mexican food. I went here with my family famished from hours trekking across the city, and I scavenged for the restaurant on the top floor like a rat scavenges for a nibble of cheese. I quickly ordered a burrito with beans, cheese, rice, and chicken as well as a smoothie, and, within minutes, had received my order. The first bite of that burrito was like biting into heaven, and I sucked in the rest of the roll at Mach 1. The smoothie was also pretty good.

Great place to find outdoor clothing and equipment of all kinds. Very knowledgeable personnel, wide range of sizes and brands. This store has a climbing wall, and free parking for the first hour. I like to go here just to look around. Spacious, and has high ceilings. Hiking, camping, backpacking, biking, climbing and other sporting equipment.

Amazing store - they are expensive but the gear and quality is fantastic.

Staff is friendly and helpful and they have a large selection of seasonal sporting gear. The only drawback is the line is usually long to checkout but I probably go during peak times.
