Quantity of food is incredible quality of the food is just okay especially when you figure a meal for one person which was a steak with shrimp and a salad cost $50 nice environment cute interior decorating and not a bad building from the outside plenty of parking provided you don't go right at rush hour but I would definitely not eat at this location again
Food was amazing at really good prices. The grilled salmon was especially good! Highly recommended!
Huge portions, excellent food!! Fantastic atmosphere.
Great food and service. Love the atmosphere and all of the decorations. Great place to eat!
Don't trust the negative reviews!
Now let me start this off by saying I only just recently moved into the area 6 months ago. Some of the negative reviews I've seen, where the major complaint was the service, date back to between 2 and 4 years ago. It wouldn't surprise me if Red's, being a pretty large sized restaurant, had some trouble getting its footing when they first opened up in terms of reliable new-hires and enough staff to meet the needs of all the customers. However as of now in the summer of 2016 I will say with confidence that this isn't an issue at all any more, barring some weird human errors that will inevitable happen at any establishment from time to time. Of course if you come to dine during prime hours you can expect a bit longer of a wait, but no more so than any other restaurant.
Now, for the reviews complaining of the quality of the food, I must denounce them as pure blasphemy. Before moving here I was a Kansas City native for 6 years, and in that time frame enjoyed all the BBQ KC is known to offer, from the popular Gate's to the little hole in the wall restaurants that always prove to be worth the detour. With these memories still fresh in my mind, I will say without a doubt that I believe Red's offers BBQ on par or even better than ANY I've ever had in KC!
While BBQ seems to be Red's "bread and butter" so to speak, if that doesn't suit your fancy or you're just in the mood for something different they offer a wide array of different dishes that are also high quality. As if this wasn't enough to seal the deal, it should be noted that you always get what you pay for in terms of portion sizes, something that has become a lost art in American dining in the decade or so. Also, if you're a lover of beer like I am, you will always leave satisfied in that department thanks to their remarkable selection of 101 different beers, ranging from bottled craft to a large selection of drafts in every beer category there is.
These reviews I see here claiming Red's dishes to be low quality or 'reheated' as per what you would find in a chain like Applebees or Olive Garden, I dismiss them as lies and slander, plain and simple. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Red's local competitors recruited people to write these negative reviews, which unfortunately nowadays has become a standard practice.
Come to Red's with your friends or family, stay a while to enjoy your generous portions and drink selections, and rest assured knowing it was money well spent!
Food is always good! Server was super nice and interacted with our kids, which is always a plus for us. Will definitely be back!!
It was our first time, the food id good and the service was great!!!
Awesome environment, brother and I ordered the Colossal Que For Two. Delicious and could have fed 4 people for sure!
The place has Atmosphere!! Great comfort food and service.
This place is always so good. The chicken sandwiches are always the best and the wings are actually full wings! The customer service is great they are always friendly and professional. I always take a trip from Reno just to stop by. It's really that good.
One of my dad's old favorites I always love eating here when I'm in Carson City
Always good beet, generous portions of comfort food. Great service.
Excellent food and service. A bit pricey but I'd HIGHLY recommend visiting here!!
Atmosphere is great! But food was just ok. I ordered a brisket sandwich and I wasn't sure if it was beef or pork. All kinda tasted the same. Cole slaw was not better than my own. I'd go back only because there's not many places to eat nearby....
The food was great if barbecue is your thing. The portions were huge. The garlic bread was unusual because they literally used a dozen cloves minced on a foot of french bread and covered it cheese. The prices were quite reasonable.
The outdoor dining has a lot of ambience. Inside - is interesting and cozy at the same time. Food was very good. Service- is what you would expect. Menu for lunch - could have used more variety.
Food was good and Rosie the bartender/ server was very nice
Looooove this place! Great beer, super great decor and ambiance, great burger and good prices! A favorite spot for sure!
The food was excellent and the display's are very interesting.
Great & friendly service, decent Happy Hour food...
Best ribs on the planet! Happy and attentive staff. Great decor.
May 2017. Their burgers are very good. So is the club sandwich and French dip. I have eaten here numerous times with several others and I have not heard any complaints from anyone. The ceiling and wall decorations include an enormous variety of artifacts. The awesome furniture is rustic and the large log-style picnic table (the one inside dining area, left of the hostess station) is fantastic! They also have dozens and dozens of beers on tap. Very good food in a really cool setting.
Im not sure what is going on with them but food and service was terrible. Will not be going back.
interesting decor. food ok. ribs cane out semi cold. wait staff knowledgeable and nice
You like stuff on the walls? They have a ton of stuff on the walls. The food is great and beer selection is one of the best.
Shared a BBQ plate with side salads & still have leftovers.. Will return & sit inside to get full effects of the decor.
Awesome atmosphere. Really cool movie props hanging from the ceiling. Food is good, portions are huge!
Fun themed restaurant, great food, good service, nice place to visit..
Good sized portions, tasty food, good value. Highly recommended and I look forward to every visit.
Went here for my husband s birthday dinner. We both ordered the shrimp scampi. It was taking a very long time to get our meals. Finally, they brought one meal and set it before me and said she was going to get my husband s meal, but she never returned. We kept waiting about 25 min while my meal was getting cold as we had intended to dine at the same time. I went to ask someone if they would be bringing my husband s meal soon. No one knew a thing about it and said they would look into it. A waitress came to our table and said it would be right out. 15 minutes later my husband s meal arrived, so 45 minutes after my meal. Mine was pretty much cold but I ate a few bites. They had put cayenne pepper and hot pepper flakes in mine. I do not care for hot spicy food. I have never heard of making shrimp scampi hot. The sauce was very watery and the shrimp very small. They served these 2 pita bread triangle points that were awful. No salad or soup came with the meal. Very disappointed in this place. But the waitresses were nice enough. The manager came to our table and gave us 50% off for the problems. My husband wants to give it another try, but as I sit here with an upset stomach I don t think we will. There s Texas Roadhouse or Olive Garden that always have wonder food.
Glad to see Red's open again, we had lunch right after they reopened, they needed some work to get back up to speed. We had lunch 6/12 and Red's is back. Great food great service, gotta love the beer list, great decor. The manager Jaime runs a great restaurant, truly an asset to the company.
The food was good, the prices are fair, and the portions are large.
If you like American style BBQ, this is the best place in notthern nevada to eat.
No vegans, please.
What more can you say when the food is THAT GOOD!. Large portions and good prices.
Awesome happy hour. Love the 5$ Martini Monday and buffalo sliders.
If you want to eat, drink, and hangout then Red's is one of the best places in Carson City. I highly recommend the "Q for 2" when eating dinner! The chicken and ribs are fantastic!
Tara the waitress was not professional at all we asked her it's been over 45 min on waiting on our food she told us she put in our order ten minutes ago and she a little chuckle and walked away
She def has an attitude on her
The food was great she made the experience terrible I do not recommend Tara serving your table
Awesome place, my party of 8 came in when they were closing and the Manager seated us and fired up the grill
Delicious food, great size portions, and a fun atmosphere.
If you re in Carson go here for supper. The food is really good - and there s lots of it - and the service is top notch. Super friendly staff and really welcoming (we found nearly everyone in Carson to be hugely friendly and welcoming). There are all sorts of wagons, traps and other forms of transport on the ceiling and a huge steam roller in the entrance. Proper Americana!
Turned around to check this place out and was happy to go in last night! We ordered the sweet potato fries and cesar salad w/grilled salmon. It did take a while for the food to come and would have suggested to bring out the fries first since it does take a while to cook salmon. We had great service and were assured our food is coming out soon and they we're very kind to discount our ticket!
We enjoyed our dinner and am anticipating their chocolate cake we took to go. So 5 stars for service, quality, and ambience was awesome. They have old items all over the wall and ceiling and the art was amazing to look at as well :) There was a juggler doing tricks all over and he was great to watch.
Downside: Baby crying but that's inevitable lol
Red's Old 395 Grill is considered one of the icons in Carson City. Has one of the best happy hours in Carson. Starts at 3pm, has plenty of room, indoor and outdoor! If you come to Carson City, go and visit Reds Old 395
Amazing interior, great steaks & great serving size!
Very cozy restaurant with saloon atmosphere. Very good food and friendly staff.
Interesting decor. The food was good. My sandwich bread was very light. A lot of restaurants serve sandwiches that are mostly bread!
Awesome atmosphere. Great food. Courteous and polite employees. Makes me want to go back again
Good bar, fun atmosphere, has outdoor picnic tables and bbq for groups with an outdoor fireplace. Food and drink are fun, taste three star. Atmosphere 5 star. Friendly staff. Busy.
I was greatly impressed that it was indeed a grill and on old 395. Didn't meet Red though.
Got the barbecue for 2 even for being big people that could have fed three of us we took half of it home this plate has two full racks of ribs a half a barbecue chicken and 3 lb of sausages all barbecued and coleslaw and beans we took half of it home it was so good
Food was very good as well as the service. Plenty of items to choose from in the menu.
Service is just ok. Had to send the front bread back because it was burned them they charged us for 2 orders.
Food was good, but hostess/host service is a mess as always. I don't care how infrequently we go there, the people they have in front just can't manage more than a couple people. So, though we try to arrive early to seat 10, we end up waiting forever and getting split tables. This happens every time we come and have 5 or more people.
Great food selection friendly atmosphere good prices.
Lots of draft beer on tap! Food is great and well priced. The Friday meatloaf chef special was awesome as pictured! Must go again if I am here again. The restaurant is also decorated with lots of thoughts and planning. Gets busy during meal hours.
Im spamming photos so i can get points. Dont listen to my reveiw
Wonderful as usual and the staff is still great!!!!
Love the happy hour menu and the beer selection.. Plus I can walk tp n from there
Wonderful atmosphere, excellent service from the wait staff and the food is amazing.
Great atmosphere food was ok we had barbecue, you get to choose 2 meats and 2 sides the ribs were tuff, and not very good the brisket was awesome, service was great the best part is the decor one of kind place for sure
Great atmosphere. They have a lot of old antiques and the place is really classic. Plan on paying 12$ and up per plate.
