Shows Lounge and restaurant which they no longer have
That was a main factor in choosing this. Sadly disappointed.

Affordable nice brunch breakfast reasonably rated lots of things to walk to around there the Riverwalk cute little side businesses unique Brewery Distillery could be a little cleaner because it's old but all in all not a bad place I would go there again.
Great hotel. Our nephew's celebration of life was held here and the staff was fantasti
Its a very comfortable place just little pesky bugs and spiders in my room
The staff at the hotel was very good to us, especially the shuttle drivers. We were a bit disappointed with the smell of one of our adjoining rooms. It was suppose to be a non-smoking room but it did smell like smoke and had a musty smell to it as well.
We stayed on 8/17 in room 324.
The air conditioning sounded like a little air plane is taking off. We did not use it and just had the fan going. Needless to say it was very hot in the room during the night.
The bathroom was discussing. It had black mold stains on the ceiling and on the shower wall. Maybe it had to do with the fan not working in the bathroom.
You would think for over $200 a night it would be more pleasant.
We choose this hotel, because our daughter stayed there with her volleyball team. Then come to find out, one of my daughters teammates had a laptop stolen out of her locked room while the team was at dinner.....no cameras anywhere!! My daughter felt unsafe and violated to stay the night.
I just received and email to give feedback. It asked me how the staff was.....Yes the staff was friendly when I checked in, even gave me a toothbrush because my daughter forgot one. I did tell them about the AC being very loud. They said, ok thanks.
Then the feedback cut me off and said, thank you for your feedback.
Well, I wasn't done.....this is why I'm writing this review. Wrote an email too weeks ago and No response, either.
I come to Spokane often from Montana. This was the first time we stayed with Red Lion. I won't be coming back and can not recommend it to anyone.
I'm angry to have spent over $200 for the night and left very disappointed.
Looks like my comments are in line with the majority of responses here.
After having recommended Red Lion to my own customers since the 90s, my wife and I were horrified by the experience we had here last weekend. A very tired exterior and interior greeted us as we checked in, and walking down the hall and faded and worn carpet to our room concerned us.
The lone bright spot of the visit was the room. The linens were nice and the room was clean.
The lack of amenities were very disappointing. The traffic and noise from the hallway was distracting.
The attached kitchen facilities called 'Ripples' reflect very poorly on the facilities as a whole, if that is possible. The service was non-existent. The pathetic breakfast consisting of powdered scrambled eggs, cardboard bacon, and squishy sausage made us long for the days of a $35 a night motel 'continental breakfast'.
What I found most troublesome was in my attempt to inform anyone at the corporate level of our experience was that the information was countered with lack of concern and apathy.
Spend your money somewhere else.
Beautiful setting. The drinks were pretty good and the Creme brulee was great, everything else was blah. The service was pretty slow also. I would go again just to have drinks and a beautiful setting but wouldn't get dinner there.
Took the wife for Drinks and Dancing At Ripples. The cover band Dragonfly was an amazing treat. Nice stage and plenty of dance floor space.
Spent the night at the lounge with friends. Had a great time
They don't have an elevator. Do i had to carry all my stuff up 2 flights of stairs
Nice friendly motel with good views. Centrally located in the downtown area.
The hotel needs a good cleaning. Our room leaked from the bathroom above and maintenance didn't want to come out at night to fix it. The rest of the hotel staff was good. Nice location on the river.
Attended professional event here. Clean conference room, decent service, and ok food.
Run!! What a dump. Dirty, stinky, and beat up!!! Staff doesn't clean, they will populate above bottoms floor at 2am, poor communication, blame you for what they do, food is horrible, but there is the pool side room they make sound like paradise. Yep. Regular jungle like the snake in my room and hair on the floor dirty bathroom and dirty bed. Run!!!
Right on the river. Marmots are so cute! Beautiful to walk by. Steps away from downtown and the mall as well.
Great location on river
Reasonable price
Clean
Good food
Ripples is a place for drinks and happy hour -- especially in nice weather with their lovely patio overlooking the Spokane River.
My favorite place to stay in Spokane. Great if you have pets.
Decent rooms, other than smells like a smoker lives there.
Great sized rooms, delicious breakfast, will return again! The price was unbeatable.
Went to there dine in area and had some food and drinks. Fantastic service and really nice outdoor seating. Our stay was also excellent.
As far as hotels go it was ok. the staff was very friendly and always very helpful. the actual rooms were like a 3 out of 5. i feel like its due for a remodel but for the price it was a good value.
Very friendly staff and very nicely kept interior. Would happily stay here again.
I went there with my school band and my room smelled like cigarettes, but no one else's room did. There was a small bloodstain on the bed but I didn't mind. At breakfast one of my plates had a bunch of dry food stuck to it, but I just got another plate. The pool was great and everyone had fun. I wouldn't recommend this for a family trip, but for me it got the job done ok.
Large room, nice and quiet. Very clean and professional. Only negative was the rooms were locked in ay 68 deg which was too warm. Would stay here again.
I am 70. We come in with big roller bags. At check in they ask me if I care what floor I m on.....no. So we go to our room it s on the second floor NO ELEVATOR.
We have to sign a no smoking pledge....fine we don t smoke. So our room has the strong chemical smell to cover up the smoke smell.
We were in building four. There is a long hallway between buildings but no signs when you go from building to building. The complex has odd shaped buildings so it isn t real clear where you.
Old tired complex. We stayed at the Comfort Suites across the street a few weeks ago, much better!
I just ate at the restuarant, did not stay. Food was excellent and service top notch.
In Spokane, it was very good! The only thing that could have been improved would be the little things like coffee cups and soap; they were both missing and we would've really enjoyed using them.
Good value for a room in downtown Spokane. Right on the Spokane river with access to the river trail. Close enough to the convention center to walk to events there. Free parking.
Everyone that works here is very friendly and
goes above expectations to help. The rooms were spacious. It's in walking distance from downtown. I will come back for the customer service being so wonderful and the rooms
being so nice, all at a reasonable cost.
The Hotel is somewhat "outdated". They also need to update their hotel security. They don't have 24 hr coverage and their campus borders on Gonzaga University. The hotel seems to be a walking destination for every homeless drug user and thief but the hotel doesn't seem to care about the customer's property and well being due to the amount of thefts and vehicle prowls.
Very good access to downtown Spokane. Hotel has no elevators, very spread out and not aging well. Service was good and parking was acceptable. Price was ok for what you get, but could be better. Could be cleaner and more modern. No breakfast included!
Red Lion River Inn is a very nice hotel for the price. I always seem to get a room at a great discount and am never let down. Room is always clean and functional. Microwaves and refrigerators in every room i believe. And the wi-fi always works great, which is a very important factor for me when I stay somewhere. Will stay there again I'd imagine. Good place!
Nice hotel right next to the convention center. Easy to walk around and next to popular sites. Like sweet Peaks Ice Cream. University Church of Eugene had a great conference with Spokane Christian Church and was treated very well by Red Lion.
Stayed here when visiting for a hockey game. Saved about $50 staying here on room cost and parking fees and all it costs us was an extra 10 minutes walking to the arena. It's nice because there is a path by the hotel that goes along the river. The bed was comfortable. Will stay here again when visiting Spokane overnight.
The nasty of all nasty rooms sheets had already been slept in the staff was rude what a waste of money and they tried to charge me twice
Felt like I was surrounded by thugs in the whole hotel. Access for handicap not available.
Stay away
Big room. Only complaint was the mattress was well expired. Couldn't sleep with my head lower than my feet. It's a common theme at this chain. I should get a decent mattress for $$$. Good location. No elevator. Doubt I will stay there again at any chain.
Staff was polite. Rooms are tired, ours smells like smoke at times, it is weird because it isn't all the time.
Such a wonderful polite helpful staff they're not snobbish like the employees at the other red lion I think they should all get pay raises at the red lion river inn and that they should train the employees at the other red lion hospitality and remind them again that they are in the hospitality industry and that somebody like myself who just happened to be stuck here passing through for work appreciates the friendly helpful inviting staff where they're going to be staying it can be very scary and unnerving to be stuck in a huge city alone like I was but it was made so much easier for me just because of the staff at the hotel I happened to be staying at thank you to all the red lion river inn staff for being the polite helpful people that you are and keep up the good work kindness does make a difference
For the price it was very nice. Clean rooms, helpful staff, and easy access to the pool and Riverwalk.
Spring - outside seating by the river, lovely landscaping, good service. Will definitely go again.
Best deck at Ripples! Late dinner and breakfast, too! Best beds and quiet room ...
Good staff. Very friendly, address day hello when they see you.
The rooms are very clean and free Continental breakfast
My wife and I showed up without a reservation on a Saturday night after driving all day - we stopped at a couple other hotels close by but were told they were full and we were not treated well at all. As soon as we arrived at the Red Lion River Inn we were welcomed and the staff went out of their way to not only find us a room, but to also get us an amazing rate (Def out mistake to not just go here first!). Our room was clean and comfortable, with a mini fridge, microwave and large flat screen TV. We both slept great on the extra comfy bed, and my wife and I both loved that the entire hotel made an effort to "go green" (from using biodegadable soaps and packaging - to mking it easy for guests to recycle). The morning we were checking out my wife had a work meeting suddenly come up and we were easily able to get a late check out so she could Skype into work. Also as frequent travelers who use WiFi to keep in contact with work - we had great connectivity and No issues with their WiFi. Thank you Red Loin River Inn Staff, especialy Meicha!!!! We will see you again next time we are in Spokane.
It's pretty safe to say that any sort of Red Lion usually means a higher quality than other hotels out there. Room didn't smell like cigarette smoke (or other), it was quiet, good variety for breakfast foods (and dinner items), terrific location (good thing there's a stoplight), and right on the river. Slight snafu with having to recharge cardkey but otherwise good stay.
I was in town for business and my husbands birthday. I have seen a lot of hotels in my day but this one should not even be called a hotel, more like dressed up motel! No elevator and they put us on the second floor with a cart full of luggage. Very very old, small rooms. No free or continental breakfast. It has a restaurant but you have to pay full price for all meals. Other hotels at least give out a breakfast voucher to the guest for breakfast! Denny's has better prices and food, only 2 miles away. The trail behind hotel is nice and view of river. The pool is small and outdoors and closes at 10pm, no hot tub at all! Shower head was level with my nose! Has a mildew smell in hallways. I will definitely not be coming back here for business or pleasure next time we are in Spokane!
Friendly service. Facility ran out of coffee for rooms due to a change in ownership. Most of the food in Ripples restaurant is exceedingly subpart, with the exception of the garlic toast and French fries.
Clean rooms and friendly staff. The food and the menu selection needs work.
Was better than expected. Fairly standard room, but everything you expect was there. Biggest downside was the abnormally short shower in our room, but at 6'4" with 1"-2" of headroom I could make it work.
Great for events. Must try Ripples. Clean and friendly.
Good location. In the middle of everything. Got our room quietly and fast, with good service.
Outdated. Our fan in the bathroom was falling out of the ceiling, there were cracks in the wall seems and stains on the carpet. Good location though and great view of the river.
The Davenport has some of the best service of Eastern Washington. The rooms are well outfitted and quite. Beds and showers are very luxurious. Parking can be done via valet or self park across the street at the garage. The hotel is within walking distance of just about everything, a small mall, restaurants, and the convention center. Make sure you...
I normally do not write hotel reviews, but if I could give this hotel a zero, I would! We check in and enter our very dark, dated room. The a/c was on, and the room smelled damp like the carpet had just been cleaned. We had two queen beds, and when I pulled the sheets back, my side of the bed had a big stain on the sheets. I went down to the front desk and reported this, and the staff assured me the bedding would be changed the next day. (not ok in my book, but I just crawled into bed with my daughter) We arrive back at the hotel at 4 the next day, and our room had not been touched since we had left. I walked down to front desk again, and reported the lack of housekeeping and smell of the room. The girls behind the desk just blankly stared at me. I was able to secure a different room for my second night. The 2nd room was a lot brighter. The bed my husband and I slept in smelled like old pee. I left a note when we left and will never return again! I want to be specific so you can make an informed decision and spend a little extra $ and stay somewhere a lot nicer. This hotel is old, dated, and I had one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a hotel!
The staff is really nice and the rooms are pretty good. The shampoo, soap and conditioner are quite nice.
The hotel is a bit dated though. It could use some updates. It's quite nice though, a good hotel for a cheaper stay. Great location.
The pool could use a bit more cleaning though. The filters definitely aren't catching enough of the bugs.
We went to Ripples for drinks and lunch and the service was awesome! Must go!
It is not a bad hotel, but nothing stands out as particularly good.
What friendly staff.
Great Happy Hour.
Awesome accommodations.
We were in Spokane to see the Foo Fighters. We chose this Red Lion because they are .4 miles from the arena. We were pleasantly surprised to find out they had shuttle service to and from the venue. We had dinner in the restraint before heading to the concert. It was great food.
Girl at front desk kept flipping her tongue ring out of her mouth during check in, had to change rooms due to overly musky, smoke smell. Just an old ran down hotel. No way is this a 4 star hotel.
Rooms were clean, staff was friendly. Would stay there again!
The Red Lion had always been a nice hotel with amazing service and amazing rooms
My go to hotel in Spokane. Pet friendly. Good staff.
I was just there to do an audit of the tea & coffee options, but it was more than I expected for Spokane! With the awkward approach from street side, the position and views on the river side are a nice surprise.
