This hotel is in a great location. Easy and accessible to a lot. We were just in town for a weekend event. The lobby was recently remodeled along with their restaurant and it looks fantastic.
I do feel they need to put more money in updating some of their rooms. We were in a double queen room on the first floor near the pool( which was fine because it was closed) but our room ended up having ants. I wasn t one to complain because even if they came out to treat them, it would take a few days for them to go away. We were just very cautious.
Staff is friendly and accommodating
Enjoyed it. Facilities well maintained and the staff was most accomodating at solving problems quickly.
Room is very small .. you have walk on the outside of the building because there s no access to the pool from the inside of the building. The pool smells very heavy on the chlorine and it s only 4ft deep. There s definitely better options out there for the price..
Lovely place. Excellent, cheerful and helpful staff. Disappointed that their business center wasn't up but the renovation is a major endeavor and they're doing a great job. The mattresses are the best I've ever slept on in a hotel. Would stay there again.
Love the remodel!!! Very updated and "hip" without being over the top.
Great place to stay! I loved the room it had a ton of really comfortable pillows great views and i love the soap they had! The lobby felt like you were at a fancy place
Room had hair in bathtub and dried toothpaste on the vanity. Elevators needed vacuuming, glasses outside rooms all day.
Came here for a quick meeting in on of the meeting rooms, haven't been here since the remodeling, looked interesting, have to come back to explore more.
Only down fall was my room smelt a little like smoke :-/ we truly enjoyed the staff and they have on duty lifegaurds!
They were in the middle of renovations to the lobby and halls looked like crap. Plus there was a mess in the elevator that wasn't cleaned the whole two days we were there. They also billed us for a breakfast that they comp'ed us. But the room was fantastic. Best pillowtops in town!
When you make a reservation you are told there is a $12 parking fee per vehicle. In a big empty parking lot. Just a way squeeze an extra few bucks out of wallet. It's not $24 I paid it's the principal. Mediocre barford. Small rooms.
I had a delightful stay at the Red Lion at the Park. It started with the shuttle driver and the front desk personel. They were friendly and very accomodating. When I discovered that the hair drier was not working, I called and had a replacement in less than 5 minutes. Things may go wrong in any situation but seldom have I had staff be so immediately responsive.
They were extremely busy but took time to be attentive and pleasant to everyone.
I would definately stay here again and also reccomend it to friends.
I didn't go there to stay, my husband is working there remodeling
Checked in at 3pm, room was not ready until 5pm. Received comps for drinks and food. Lobby felt very chaotic and unorganized. Hallway to our room had a very strange musty smell. Wallpaper was pealing in the room. Side of bedside table had crusted on white spots. Tub stopper was laying in the tub broken. Half of the lights around the mirror were blown out. Not impressed and probably won't stay here again.
Lovely rooms, a wonderful central location to stay.
Very nice hotel. Great experience at a value price.
Service was awesome everyone was helpful and the food was good. The best part was something happened to my reservation and it ended up being a single queen instead of a double queen. But Melissa at the front desk came in clutch and gave us an upgrade to the grand park suite. So thank you very much 10/10 would stay again.
I love the renovation in the lobby and dining area.
Very great and new hotel. Fantastic service perfect location
Terrible customer service, would never stay here again
Recently stayed here while I was in town for a three day event. This was probably the worst hotel I've stayed at. I was supposed to have a ground floor room and called ahead the day of and this was confirmed to me. Upon checking in around 4:30, I was offered the 9th or 10th floor. When I said I was supposed to have a ground floor and my reasons why, I was offered an "executive suite" on the 4th floor that was close to the elevators and handicapped parking. There was no parking available and the room was the farthest from the elevator as possible on that particular wing. Also, I was told there was a fireplace (not that we needed it), but there was not. This was NOT an executive room.
The AC was atrocious. It barely blew and was not particularly cool. Maintenance was sent up and found that it was using hot water instead of cold, but even that fix only cooled it a degree or two. The room was small and fortunately my mom was able to hobble her way there because her wheelchair wouldn't have even gone past the inside of the door.
There was ONE towel and not even any hand soap. We left a note for housekeeping, along with a tip, asking that they NOT touch the bed and simply leave us another towel, empty the trash and give us some hand soap. We even left personal belongings on the bed. When we returned that evening, our items had been moved and the bed straightened. We were left a towel, but no soap. We also returned to a VERY LOUD band playing by the pool (which our room overlooked). This band played, with encore, past 9:15 p.m. which granted isn't too late, but it was SO loud even turning the TV up to 65 didn't drown them out. Having to get up very early for our event, this band kept us both up past when we would have liked to go to sleep. Another band was there the next night. Finally, on our last night we were left some soap, which we didn't use because it was heavily scented and we didn't care for it.
The room was dirty to begin with. The floor was "wood" and left my feet blackened the first night. All in all, it was a vastly unpleasant stay, and I would not stay there again or recommend them to anyone. The one and only thing that was good was the bed. It was a fantastic mattress and very comfortable, but that didn't make up for every other problem and annoyance. Being extremely heat intolerant, having a poor ac was a big issue for me. I suggest you be wary if thinking of booking a stay here.
Breakfast was good, beds were comfy and neat. rooms were very spacious and clean. Great.
I was really apprehensive visiting this hotel. They had so many bad reviews I almost canceled my stay. Upon arriving the long took my breath away. It is very modern and comforting. I arrived early and the room wasnot ready yet so I walked around and found the outdoor pool. The concessions stand cashier was super nice and allowed me to enter the pool until my room was ready and even gave 20% off on drinks. The room was clean and inviting. I even had a private balcony with a view of the pool. Parking was a bit of a challenge. There was a festival going on in town and there was no where to park. Even though I was a guest at the hotel I couldn't get a parking spot. You would think that the hotel would have parking for their guests. Besides that little snafu I loved staying at the hotel. I wish the pool could stay open 24hrs. That way adults can enjoy some time kid free. Other than that id go back again
Stayed here with family of six and we enjoyed everything about our stay, especially the location
You can't ask for a better location near Riverside park. It is walking distance from the convention center, mall, and restaurants. The outdoor pool was still closed for winter when we visited, but it looks amazing. The hotel is very clean and the staff is nice. Rooms are standard for the price range. We enjoyed our overnight stay.
Room 146, bathroom was old. Toilet seat was about to fall off .
They have done some nice updating to the place. Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. Their venues to hold conferences in are great!
Great venue for Christmas parties. Very good service from the bartenders.
Shower had mold, floor was dirty, not enough towels, TV was not bright enough to see. Location is great. Located close to good restaurants, that's good because the restaurant was not that good.
Good service. Clean rooms. Good in hotel restaurant
I have a lot to say about my stay at the Centennial. Tldr; stay somewhere else. If you want to follow my journey staying here, please continue.
We booked our king room with a view in November of 2018 for a stay in Feb 2019. About a week before the stay I went onto the hotels website to check the reservation, and found it had been changed to a double queen room without any notification. Since there was no "contact us" on the site (absolutely insane considering it's 2019 that I had to send an email to this place and couldn't just contact them through their site) I emailed the hotel and told them and asked the issue to be corrected. They emailed me back the same day and said it would be fixed and even sent me an invoice with the room type "Deluxe King" listed. I thanked them and thought it was taken care of.
2 days later (yesterday) we check in to the hotel. Front desk tells us where our room is, (does not offer to help with luggage) and we find our way to our room.
Upon entering the room, I see 2 queen beds. So, feeling irritated I call the front desk. I explain to them the previous mistake and that I had emailed the hotel and they had told me it would be taken care of, thinking there was just some miscommunication along the way. But no, the front desk tells me, they can see that note on my reservation that they had made a mistake but that there were no rooms available, and the best they could do was to discount the 12 dollar self parking fee, and give us free breakfast vouchers.
So we were given a map when we arrived which shows an indoor pool, which we find out is not functional after calling the front desk to ask.
Around 6 pm the hallway became engulfed in the smell of weed. About an hour later, it was engulfed with the smell of toxic levels of air freshener.
So, bored out of our minds and actually feeling DIZZY because of the insane amount of lysol that had been sprayed to mask the weed smell, we went to the workout area at about 8 pm. Literally the best part of the hotel, and that's because it's left over from when it used to be the beautiful hotel RL.
Room service charges 5 dollars for delivery. To your room. Meaning I could uber eats for LESS THAN GETTING ROOM SERVICE BECAUSE EVERYTHING ON THE MENU IS 15 DOLLARS.
Bathroom had one shampoo and one conditioner, in a room designated for 2 adults. NO HANDSOAP IN THE BATHROOM. Only body soap.
Bed was very uncomfortable and had almost no bedding, on a night when there is a blizzard warning. The bedding is like 5 flat sheets stacked together instead of a comforter or duvet. The restaurant used to have awesome food but now that it's the Centennial, it's a very limited menu, that's very expensive, with ONE SINGLE VEGETARIAN option on the menu that wasn't a salad. We ended up eating somewhere else.
TV had about 50 accessible channels. No worries, because we're pros and we bring our chromecast with us when we stay at hotels. Too bad the WiFi is too weak to let you use a chromecast or even a laptop. The hotel is under construction, but they don't make it clear AT ALL where you can and cannot go, so we felt very confined to our room.
We wore white socks in our room on the hardwood floor and they are almost black all the dirt by the end of the night.
To top it all off, in the morning we called the front desk and asked for creamer to be delivered to the room to be used with the coffee they provide in the keurig that's in the room. After about 30 minutes we realized it probably wasn't coming and checked out. Honestly I can't believe the cost for what was offered at this hotel. Pretty sad considering how absolutely beautiful the hotel rl used to be. There are beautiful hotels in town with much more to offer for the same cost as this hotel. I feel very dissapointed in this stay. Very dissapointed.
Great building, lousy service. First was given a room that was occupied. Then new room was over the atrium which is loud until midnight. Pre-arranged payment was made through my school, then they couldn't run that and threatened to charge my personal card. The location is nice and the decor is unique. Love the hammocks.
Nice rooms. The bar has a trendy vibe, good food and drinks. Try the grown up mac and cheese :) wait staff in the bar could have been more attentive
Attended a 3-day professional seminar. The restrooms continued to get dirtier and it was clear staff didn't pay them much attention. When trying to find a staff to inform of this it took several minutes because they were wandering around and not at the desk. When I spoke to a staff they were polite and helpful.
Bait and switch warning!! I don't normally complain about hotels, but I need to share about this one. My son is turning 10, and his request for his "party" was to stay in a tall and really nice hotel...like the Davenport. When I was doing some research, I came across The Centennial. I looked at some pictures and saw the pool with a slide and the super cool lobby with the swings and the pillow steps. My friends even said they went to visit their parents and thought the lobby was super cool. I read quite a few negative comments, but I thought...eh...people always complain and booked a night. When we arrived there were chairs in the lobby...that's it. No swings. No pillow stairs. When I got to the makeshift check in desk (they seem to still be renovating), I asked where the swings are. Oh...they got rid of them. I asked if they still have the outdoor pool. He said yep. I asked about the slide...closed. The two things my son was excited for, and the reason I chose this hotel were not there. I was so disappointed. I told the guy at the computer that I could have paid less money for a room at the Holiday Inn Express across the street that looks like a castle and includes free breakfast (The Centennial Hotel does not), for cheaper!! I don't even need to stay at a hotel in Spokane! I have family here...it was for my son!! Our room was super small. I am pretty sure my sheets had fairly fresh blood on them, and a few stains that hadn't been washed. I am a single mom and a teacher! I do not have money to just throw around. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. :( *Update...I emailed the hotel management. They apologized and gave me about a 40% refund. I appreciate that. I would still suggest staying at a different hotel.
Came here on a conference- they're in the midst of a rebranding to be a bit more "hip", I think. The result is mixed... casually dressed staff with self-written nametags and decor that looks straight out of Pintrest. The staff themselves were all excellent and attentive, though, and the hotel itself was modern and attractive. It did take me a while to find an ice machine that would actually dispense, and upkeep left a little to be desired- beer can on top of one of the vending machines and conference chairs outside of my room in the hallways.
Had a super bad experience to start, but Justin at the front desk is the best! Thanks, we will be back when the outside pool is open
Worst expensive food I have had in a while. The burger was charred, barely cooked on the inside, the bacon was burnt, the lettuce was bitter and old, and the onions tastes like... Nothing. The fries were average. I've cooked shirty Wal-Mart burgers that tastes better than the garbage they served. The waitress was loud and vitchy. Not even worth one star, and I've eaten at some Podunk places...
The room is very nice but the food is poo. Way too pricey for something that you would find at a gas station convenience store. My breakfast burrito was clearly reheated and my "taco bowl" was about a pound of white rice hidden by a thin layer of lettuce and meat. $4 is also too much for a cookie.
I'll second the other review about the "grab n go" thing. No room service. You call down to have food prepared. If someone answers the phone at all, they say to come down in 15 min. When you do, expect to wait 10 or 15 min more until someone checks on you. During the time you wait, you'll get the listen to the phone ring unanswered for the other suckers trying to call to place an order. I recommend skipping their restaurant and going across the street.
The room was nice bit the check in lady wasn't helpful. She told us our room was in the wrong direction and there was no breakfast for our room. It was close to a lot and easy to find. The food was okay, was either lacking seasoning or over seasoned. Shower head was out dated and didn't have much pressure.
We ate at the restaurant off from the lobby. The food and service were great.
We stayed for 2 nights and we were quite comfortable. Beautiful Riverfront park is right there. Would stay again.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful. The gym is great! The food at their restaurant is very good but a little pricey.
This place has great atmosphere, nice rooms, and live bands frequently. They even fixed our AC promptly when it was broken the first night we arrived.
I liked the art that was embedded in the body of the hotel.
it was nice fun but food and drinks where expensive
Stayed in room above entrance on 5th floor. Was extremely loud at 11pm couldn't sleep.
The hotel was very well decorated and one of the most unique settings I have ever seen in a hotel. The room was very nice and there were no issues with our stay. The iPad check-in was very innovative in my opinion, and I found the whole experience to be professional and enjoyable.
GREAT outdoor pool and slide! Fantastic location near downtown. Workout area is modern and clean with a cool view. Hotel is pretty basic and could use a few upgrades, but you can't beat the price.
Barbeque available to use. computer available. Clean, coffee pots in rooms, grocery store across the street, restaurants and bars across the street. Park a block away- walk the dogs / kids can play. Simple breakfast served. For the price and location it's a convertible stay.
Staying here on my honeymoon. The suite is really nice but I havent waited in line at the the front desk for less than 10 minutes so far. At check-in I was in line for 25-30 minutes because the line was not moving. Apparently everyone was on break. Consequently I was later than expected to my own wedding and had to skip important photos.
Room was good and comfortable, but parking cost money and that is a big downside.
Large location. Excellent restaurant and great views. Lovely place.
Called the hotel RLat the Park during the Thanksgiving weekend. The Manager called me Monday, asked if they were holding a New Years Eve Party, Yea we are. Received an email with an attachment with a brochure for December 31. We bought tickets through TicketsWest a bargain at $25 per person. We found a fantastic table, light munchies and party favours. The band was so much fun to dance to and if you did not dance the band changed costumes, great entertainment . The fireworks at midnight could be seen from the ballroom. I personally appreciated drop off at the front door, as I wore sparkly sandals.
We will attend this event again, so much better than 2015 venue.
Kudos to The RL at the Park!
I checked in with my grandson. The room was nice just basic for the price. It was over priced . Then I was given a parking pass for across the street . A long walk from the Hotel. No one told me i was going to to be changed extra to park . But on the morning I was to leave . They put a bill under my door At 5:30 am for the parking . So I paid a total of 210.00 for a plain room and a pool next time i will go to motel 6 at least they are up fount about all the changes . And there is . ( no breakfast )
It was nice except the bathrooms were small and no tubs just walk-in showers. Also no place to hang a wash cloth or scrungee or put your soap. Kind of inconvenient. The beds were comfortable.
I'm only giving this hotel 3 stars because of the location and the bar food. Otherwise, it was horrible. The room was so old, dents, things falling apart, and the smell... all this wouldn't be that bad except I paid almost $200 for one night in this room. Definitely not worth that much!! And all the pictures are VERY deceiving. Customer service wasn't very friendly. Guy at the front desk couldn't even smile at us, granted their computers were down. But we were trying to crack jokes and show him that we were in no hurry. Nope, didn't help. The guy at the bar, no people skills at all! Again, only good thing about this hotel was the location. You could walk to the park and shopping. And the food was awesome!
Nice stay and really friendly staff. Great food too!
The new ownership has really fixed this place up! I last stayed there when it was Hotel RL and it wasn't anything special. Now that it's part of Davenport, you can see they've invested in the property. The refinished rooms feature new stone showers with comfortable beds. The workout room is first rate with brand new equipment and a sweeping view of the town.
Hotel RL catered our office party and provided some really delicious food. Everything was warm and filling. We had plenty of food left over - they even allowed us to take the extra food home, which some caters are particular about doing.
We arrived at the Hotel RL expecting an excellent experience but were left slightly disappointed. It wasn't one single issue but a host of issues ranging from the minor (red streaks in the room's Jacuzzi tub) to the major (issues with their ipad check-in process that required a last minute alternate billing arrangement because our card wasn't accepted) to the simply frustrating (inadequate parking at the hotel after our lengthy check in that delayed our arrival enough that we missed the first shuttle over to the opera house and barely got there in time to make the show). We came to see the new Phantom of the Opera on our anniversary vacation and paid extra for a room with a Jacuzzi tub and extra amenities expecting something romantic and relaxing. What we got was a surprisingly average hotel room, nothing spectacular, with a sliding glass door that opened out onto the pool area. The room was incredibly noisy during the day due to all the activity in the pool area and didn't feel private at all. Service from staff was adequate but we felt like the value just wasn't there. Aside from the tub, which we cleaned ourselves, the room seemed clean enough and the bed was comfortable. The shower was the only thing in the room that I would rate as excellent. Next time we come to an event at the Spokane Opera House, however, I think we will choose other accommodations.
Overall we like this red Lion, had kind of a bad experience this time, as our bikes were stolen out of their parking lot (locked up). There was also no towels after using the pool.
Rooms were clean and bright. Currently some remodeling going on, but they kept any sort of hammering to daylight hours. Love the soap company that the hotel uses for the bathroom complimentary toiletries. A little confused by the fact they used a flat sheet instead of a fitted sheet. But this was a very busy weekend. Good place to crash after long competition days. The espresso bar is decent.
