We came here for Easter brunch. It was a fair deal at about $34 a head. Lots of food to choose from between breakfast and dinner options. Wait staff was attentive and management came around to check on us.

Don't stay here expecting 5-star accommodations (obviously) but as 3-star accommodations go, I've (generally) found Red Lion hotels to be a good value proposition. This Portland location is no exception. The hotel property and rooms are clean and in good order, the location feels safe, its outside of but just close enough to downtown Portland or Vancouver (Washington), the staff was friendly and accommodating (e.g., changing my rate when I expressed minor frustration over the booking and pricing on their website), etc. I'm giving a 5-star rating not because this location is as good as a 5-star hotel, but because it is at the upper end of what you can expect from a 3-star hotel.

The rooms were clean and large for the cost. The staff were extremely helpful and personal. Overall the entire experience was great and I have absolutley no complaints. I'd recommend this as a place for anyone after my experience.

We went up to Portland for an event that was held in one of this hotel's meeting rooms.

I called the hotel directly and asked if they had a group rate for the event, and it took the woman on the phone awhile to find the event I was referring to. I don't remember her name. She finally found it, and quoted me a price. It was about $15 more than the same room on Orbitz, so I booked on Orbitz instead, and used my saved Orbucks to bring the price down further.

The location was pretty easy to find. I had to work a full day at my job in California, and drove up after work. The hotel had no problem accommodating my late check-in request.

The room was clean, and serviceable. The location right on the Columbia River is gorgeous. The view of Mt. Hood in the distance is breathtaking.

The hotel has a private pier and boat slips.

We didn't have time to utilize the exercise facilities on the premises.

When I checked into my room at 5:30pm, I wanted to shower, however there were no towels. I called the front desk to request them and was told right away. I have called four times, went downstairs at about 10:30pm to talk to the manager who said they have no towels. She was going to look for them. It is almost 11pm and still no towels.

The assist pool chair for the disabled does not have a battery. When I called ask if the hotel could put a battery in the chair, the girl at the front desk was ignorant of the chair.

Everyone is polite, but this hotel is not being run well. Do yourself a favor and run away.

The location isn't great if you plan on doing things around Portland. If you are at the very least plan around the traffic during the mornings and afternoons. The beds are nice although the entire place could use an update.

So during the COVID-19 freak out, we were 1 of maybe 3 guest in this ENTIRE HOTEL. And they give us a room facing the parking lot! Lol on top of that i asked for the Lions Den suite, and they give me some excuse about the virus and jacuzzi s and they aren t allowed to rent out the suites. I guess the virus only enjoys jacuzzis and not showers or bathrooms.............. But at least the beds are comfortable!

Pros: Fast check in, comfortable bed, quiet room, pretty grounds, good security, easy access from I-5 Cons: Room had tile floor that had big chunks missing, the shower had very little water pressure, there's a step up into the shower which could be dangerous for some (no grab bar), air conditioning was poor, coffee pot still had old coffee and coffee grounds in it.

Upon check in they said "we have one room left" even though we made our reservation 2 months in advance (made it sound like we were lucky). Several light bulbs not working, fan in bathroom not working, went to plug lamp in and almost got electrocuted, there were bare prongs exposed. They charge for the continental breakfast. I would recommend looking elsewhere for a hotel in Portland.

Very nice rooms, room service, pool and hot tub. The staff seemed a little odd, it was like everyone that works here is from a different planet - very socially awkward and somewhat rude. Or maybe they just treated us differently because we used a Groupon for our room

Good pricing and location is nice. Entry was dirty/dusty in the 1st room like they had just finished repairing something and didn't clean after. Second room was better but still looked a little dirty. Everything else was clean though.

I loved this hotel which you can tell they remodeled it recently however you can also tell that the overall structure is a little old. But the service was awesome! We ran out of shampoo and they gave us extra amounts of body wash and shampoo!

We liked the balcony which leads to a beautiful courtyard and outdoor pool area. The staff was nice and put us in a ground floor because my wife was in crutches and it was easier to take the dog out to gray area through back door.

Great views from the back of the hotel of the Columbia River. Lots of amenities in the room and in the surrounding area. Cleaning frsh beds and great shower left me with a very satisfied experience.

Only things going for this hotel: comfortable bed, easy access and quiet. If you are an early riser like me don't expect to eat before 7am although the snack/coffee bar opens at 6:30 if someone shows up on time. Room service isn't available until 7am as well. At least Starbucks and Denny's is walkable and open at 4am. They are pet friendly but it'll cost you $25 a night on top of the already overpriced rooms. Disappointed.

2nd year at a conference here. Love the views. The chairs are okay. The food quality is great, but prep could be better. The wait staff is mostly wonderful. Friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating.

Really nice, close to the airport, hotel. With prison-style toilet paper. Everything else was perfect. Maybe upgrade to TP that isn't made out of yard clippings? Would make this a 5 start experience.

It was a clean room, but it was right next to a road, and cars kept me up all night. Also there wasn't quite a full seal on the deck door for room 225, so there was an intermittent breeze through the room.

Overall a fantastic stay. The room was very nice and comfortable with HVAC heating / cooling instead of wall mounted, and the bathroom was ridiculously spacious.

The pool was very nice and spacious, as was the hot tub. The hot tub had tons of bubbles, and there were plenty of (albeit kind of small) towels available. There was a bunch of tree needles all over the place which needed to be cleaned. Highly recommend wearing shoes until you are actually getting into the pool as the stone around is harsh.

The only pain point I see is the restaurant. We went there for breakfast and it took about 15-20 minutes after we got to our table and me going up and asking for anyone to even come up and help us. The waitress apologied but it still took forever to even get drinks. They are either understaffed or disorganised as it felt like we were forgotten about.

The location was perfect as it is very close to downtown, and also very close to gas, fast food, and strip malls.

Booked online and got to the hotel; at check-in they claimed it was going to be an additional $30 for a pet. When I click pet-friendly and check-out with a final price I assume that's what I'm getting. Weren't happy with that, and then none of the front desk ladies were anywhat interested in trying to help. Just responded "well there will be a cancellation fee" with zero effort to rectify situation. Smelly, super out dated, and workers seemed like they were on something. Do not recommend.

Very nice hotel! The rooms very clean and well kept i really enjoyed the spa area and restaurant i thought that was quite pleasent the only thing keeping me from giving five stars is sometimes you'll get a noisy neighbor and the desk doesnt really seem to care, other than that this place is fantastic

Was here for an event. 1st time in OR. Super friendly staff: at the front desk, shuttle, restaurant (Wanda!), housekeeping and especially the bartender gal at the roving cash bar. Very spacious rooms. Huge property with nice places to walk. Lots of access points available with room key. Nice views of river activity. Was happy to see opportunities to recycle glass, cans and paper. Nice outdoor pool. It's only a 4 block walk to a lot of shopping and some restaurants and fast food. (Target had a grocery dept). There are homeless nearby and I witnessed security patrolling the entire grounds all night, every night. I liked the place.
However... 1. The internet was really, REALLY horrible in my room. 80% of the time I couldn't get a signal or kept getting booted. In these times, that's really not acceptable. 2. The first thing that happened was the heavy sliding door falling on me when I went out on the balcony. Maintenance came and put it back on the tracks quickly, but what the heck? This happened to another friend of mine that was staying there too. 3. My room was located just outside the I5 bridge and with high speeds and trucks, it was incredibly noisy, even with the balcony doors shut tight. The traffic is never ending, even at 2 am, so sleep was sometimes difficult. (It must have been a grand spot in the olden days). Try to get a room on the other end and this won't be a problem. 4. I'm into conservation, so it was annoying that housekeeping kept replacing the soap and other toiletries everyday after only one use. 5. Cleanliness could use a shot in the arm. The shower curtain was moldy on the bottom and there was a creepy amount of debris behind my bed. (no option to post pics here). 6. Dinner services for our event were somewhat disorganized (as it is often at any hotel). The counts must have been off because some people had to wait a very long time for their meals, while the rest were already served and eating. 7. The restaurant had a very limited menu. Fair enough prices. Food was hit or miss with taste and quality.
So.. lots of good points but some things need improvement. In the right circumstances, I would stay here again.
