The food here is INCREDIBLE! Rivaled only by the view, the food was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed the dinner special, which was crab stuffed petrale sole with roasted corn salsa, rice, and crunchy tortilla strips. The food was prepared fresh and delivered fast by a fun waitress who provided outstanding service. Will definitely be adding this restaurant to my small number of places to dine on a regular occasion.

We loved our stay at the Red Lion on the River Jantzen Beach. The staff were absolutely perfect. Truly, they could have not been more wonderful - every single person from the housekeeping to the front desk to the security to the wait staff - absolutely amazing. The food was fantastic - best hotel breakfast I have ever had. Kids always eat free off the kids menu and we got a deal (maybe everyone gets it, not sure - we did Groupon) where we got a $24/day credit (so $12 per adult for standard occupancy) applied to breakfast at the restaurant. It covered our bill fully. And the food was GREAT. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The beds have 4 different pillows, all different firmness - very nice touch, triple sheeted, charging ports, vanity area outside of the bathroom, nice large bathroom and closet, table, spacious room and Every room has a private balcony. On one side of the hotel, the rooms look over the parking lot and the other side (premium and above) look out over the river. There is a beautiful pool and hot tub (very reminiscent of a tropical resort), tennis courts, full bar, and shuttle to the MAX. Really, it is ideal. The planes are flying over constantly, which you can hear outside, but with the door shut, you can barely hear them - and it is also kind of cool because the planes are super low. Now, for the negatives: the hotel is huge - really really long like a resort. We got turned around repeatedly and had to walk a ton. For my 80 year old mom, that was especially a challenge. So, if you stay on the 4th floor (and maybe 3rd), note that you cannot walk from end to end on the 4th floor - you have to go down and then across - it's like a maze. And the hallways go around virtually unmarked hallways and doorways. And they have the feeling and smell dated, like a very very old hotel - which was kind of cool, adventurous, but a bit off-putting for some I would imagine - the long strange hallways didn't seem to match the look and feel of the lobby which was open and updated and bright and spotless. The pool and hot tub are at one end and the tennis courts are at the other. The restaurant and lobby are much closer to the pool, so when we stay here again, I will request that side of the hotel - it really was extreme. As for the hot tub, it is pretty small for such a large hotel. It was very crowded. But, the area was gorgeous. The pool was beautiful. And they have poolside food/drink service! And room service - really really great service and amenities, especially for the price. We will DEFINETLY stay again, but we will avoid the tennis court side of the hotel.

Worst night in a long time. I was exhausted after a busy day at work and driving 6 hours to get here, when I tried to go to bed for the night at 11pm, my door wouldnt unlock. I wasnt in a room until after 1:30am. The door had broken and no key would work. My phone was dead and my fiance and family were expecting a call. After a long hoo haa I was eventually put in a room, with out charger/clothes/toiletries, I had none of my stuff(locked in old room). I was then abruptly woken up at 8 IN THE MORNING by the staff telling me to come and collect my belongings which were in the previous room. (They gave me a ONE HOUR EXTENDED check out fee for all this trouble) I called my fiance(who was supposed to me at the room later) and my dad to let them know what was going on. I woke up to find a $60 bill on my card for "long-distance calls." When I was told I could use their phone to contact my family. This put my card into overdraft and I was charged a $35 fee for it. The customer service here is awful. The original lady I had talked to kept telling me they had it in writing that I made all those calls and must pay for it. I eventually talked to someone a little more helpful and he reluctantly reversed the charges put on my card.

It's like a work out maze of a hotel. Was there for a work party and started the night. The room and building it self shows signs of aging. The room was only partially clean and unkempt. If it wasn't for my company paying for most of my room I wouldn't have stayed.
