Really big hotel with a beautiful view of the water. They also had an outdoor pool and jacuzzi which is a nice feature. It was easy enough to get to this location from the freeway and there were plenty of food options around the neighborhood. There was some construction going on within the hotel, but didn't really notice it causing too many inconveniences. I was pretty happy with the room. Just kind of wished they offered breakfast.

This place used to have good food and service. They changed their menu about a year back and now you can really tell that a lot of it comes right out of the freezer into the microwave. I ve given them many chances this year and tried to find something that is worth while, but I am at a loss now.. They really took a turn for the worse on the menu and service.

I've only really attended catered events here (conference, company party) so I can only judge based on that. However, this most recent time I was there, the first two plates I picked up at the buffet were dirty; the chicken I had was way overdone; and when I ordered a vodka tonic I had to remind the bartender twice about what I ordered (no, not soda, _tonic_). It's not bad, I've been to worse, but I've been to better, too, so.. average. Three stars.

The sprawling, ranch-style location features several wonderful nooks and conversation groupings for enjoying a good book or the view on stormy days. The river overlook is top notch and rooms are spacious, but the sheer size of the venue can be a bit daunting and elevators are few and far between.

Great experience! We stayed for a night while going to a concert downtown. The room was really clean, super comfortable bed and the restaurant was really good. We had breakfast there the next morning and they still let us order off of the breakfast menu even though it was after 11. Steak and eggs was solid! Didn't really get to use all of the services provided on site, but the staff that helped us check in/out were professional and quick. Will most definitely stay again next time I'm in Portland.

Went to a Christmas party here - the hotel catered the food. It was a buffet and excellent. The veggies were tasty and the meats were cooked to perfection. Everything had great flavor. they even had a lovely ice sculpture.

I was in Portland on a business trip and my meeting was longer then expected instead of driving back North I decided to book a room at 1 am on a Friday night so I called in the to reserve a room the gal on the phone was extremely helpful I think her name was kiyomi if I remember correctly she said that the place was almost booked solid and the only rooms that had left were dirty so she took it upon herself to go above and beyond her job duties and cleaned a room for me by the time I arrived she had the room cleaned up bed made and I was able to get a full night sleep before my long drive she also answered all my questions and greeted me with a warm welcome smile she saved me the headache of a late night drive and made the experience great I made sure to let my boss and coworkers know next time we have a late night meeting to book a room here the staff and quality are professional and friendly thanks again to your night audit staff and kiyomi.

These people would not take our credit cards and had us booked for 2 rooms! They said they had to call the bank and it was 10pm. Would not check us in when we had ID and several cards!! I will never reserve a room with them again!

Good for conventions, lots of parking, one side has views of the Columbia River, east access to other eateries and quick shopping nearby, most staff is courteous and helpful, house cleaning is punctual and efficient.

The staff is friendly and location is ok but there are homeless camps nearby. The hotel is outdated and the presence of the night club creates uncomfortable situations at night in the parking lot (people smoking pot and playing loud music from their trunk). The parking lot is dark and adds to the uneasiness. The room heater did not work and we froze. The shower water temperature was difficult to control (too hot or too cold with no middle ground). The sink pressure on the 4th floor was low. We did not have time to address these multiple issues with management but they probably would ve done something to make it better given past experiences with their friendliness. But overall the hotel is dated and not worth it. I ve stayed at 6 or 7 other hotels this summer and this one by far was the most disappointing. It used to be much better.

I went to Jantzen Beach Red Lion for a birthday party for three friends of mine. There were quite a few people that were coming for this event. One of the people celebrating their birthday was treated very poorly by the bar manager. He was even cussing at her and arguing with her in the bar.

The group of people I was with come to the bar often and have never been treated like this is the past. They have some new employees, along with this new bar manager who was incredibly rude. I've never seen something like this happen in an other bar I've been to, especially if you are bringing in a big group of people in! Other bars are more than willing to accomodate you when bringing clientele in. I'm really surprised the hotel management hired this person and allows him to treat clients in that manner. I will definitely think twice before going back.

The only upside to this visit was the wait staff. We had a couple of servers that were great about checking if we needed anything. My advice to them would be to work somewhere else where they are appreciated more.

The rooms are really nice.

The rooms are really nice.
Beds are not the best but eh, they are beds.
Airplanes are landing and taking off litteraly 24/7 and the rooms are not sound proof.
The room I got had an awesome veiw of Washington State and the bridge that takes you from Oregon to Washington.
There was a incident with the cleaning services and because of that, we were given some very nice compensation.

I stayed here 2 nights with my three children. Overall, the hotel was very nice. Our room was clean and so was the pool and hot tub. The bathroom was very large which was particularly nice for bathing two small children. The bed was too soft for me, but I prefer a very firm bed. The only thing I did not like was that our room was at daylight basement level. The only concern I had was the old railings on the walk to the pool do not meet modern standards and I was afraid my youngest was going to fall right through them.

We stayed at Red Lion at Jantzen Beach September 11 and 12, 2020.
For the price and service we were very dissatisfied. Our room had two queen beds, one of which was too "used" /worn (large dip in middle) to sleep on. There was a half roll of toilet paper and no spare. I asked for more. The view was the parking lot and it was noisy.
I feel the room was over priced for what it offered. Rate for room was $112 plus tax. There was only one chair for seating (for two people). Beds were poorly made with two sheets with lightweight blanket between them. Pillows were lumpy. We stayed at your hotel because we had been evacuated due to wildfire danger.
I seriously doubt I shall ever stay in a Red Lion again or recommend Red Lion to friends.

We live on the island, so, have never stayed there, BUT, we eat at the restaurant in the hotel. LOTS of parking, friendly staff and good food. Right on the Columbia River with terrific views of the river, planes coming in for a landing, Vancouver, boats and waterfowl. There is a fantastic, paved river walk that goes on for a mile or so, right along the river heading east. So beautiful. Park at the hotel and access the walk from there. Easy access to walk across the I-5 bridge for unbelievable views of Mt Hood on clear days. Easy, under-the-I-5 bridge access from the Jantzen Beach shopping area.

Comfy beds and great water pressure in the shower. But the walls must be thin. I could hear the person above me walking across the floor I could hear people in the hall as if they were in our room. There is construction going on, but all in all it is a good hotel, conveniently located to stores and restaurants on Hayden Island.

Old hotel with poor rooms

Old hotel with poor rooms
Cleanliness is basically ok. It is obvious that the hotel has its best days long behind. Everywhere you have the unpleasant smell in the nose.
OK for 1-2 nights, for a longer stay I can not recommend this hotel.
